Sorry for holding up the game

I'm stuck at work pretty intensively today, and will probably be here until late.

Pretty hypocrite I'd be to say anything about another player being slow after all the disappearing I've done during this game (including running off to two different countries). I'm just hoping this all comes out as awesomely as it is in my head.

Noted, though I won't try to abuse it too much.

Speaking of which, where's DrZaius and Lahmslea? They've gone dark, so to speak.

Time to finally kill the fucking sniper. Would be smarter to take out the guys with the assault rifles but Sam wants
this one.
Free Action: Take Aim
Simple Action: Long narrow burst (+5 DV) at the now-rifleless sniper, 3 recoil compensated by Gas Vent 3:
Agility 10 + Automatics 6 + Specialization 2 + Smartlink 2 + Reflex Recorder 1 + Take Aim 1 - Recoil 2 = 20 Dice
20d6.hits(5) → [3,4,3,2,1,1,6,3,3,6,2,6,1,3,5,1,2,6,6,4] = (6)Simple Action: Short narrow burst (+2 DV) at the now-rifleless sniper:
Agility 10 + Automatics 6 + Specialization 2 + Smartlink 2 + Reflex Recorder 1 - Recoil 3 = 18 Dice
18d6.hits(5) → [6,5,5,2,2,1,6,4,5,5,2,6,3,6,6,6,4,2] = (10)

You know CM, I can't help but wonder why you bother with Take Aim actions and short bursts. You could easily let loose on full-auto and do just fine.

They are pretty good at dodging. With a full burst I'd have only one roll with -6 recoil and if that was a bad roll with few hits he would likely dodge it.

They also took a flashbang to the face, which is what, a -2? -4?

I was really hoping you were going to do that! Thanks a whole lot! If it happens again that I fall off the face of the earth for a day or two, please, do roll for me.
If you roll badly, I will simply curse you and your unborn children. And their children. So yea, no big deal

-I take it Dexter needs a simple action to pick up his carbine again?
-How far are "AR Bad Guy 1" and "AR Bad Guy 2", and how far apart?
Abschalten
Aug 19 2010, 04:41 PM
Only one guy was affected by the flashbang, the one right outside that door you guys came out of.
Nah, you don't need to use a simple action to get the carbine out. *handwave*
As for how far apart they are... um... the length of the building? Say they're 20 meters apart.
The first AR Bad Guy is right outside the door. He didn't get very far.

Yeah, I noticed. Might want to double check the last posts header next time. Also, you miscalculated the damage: Your M23 does 6P and you got 4 hits, bringing the base damage to 10P for purposes of determing if it bypasses armor, which then goes up to 19P after you factor in the narrow full-auto barrage.

I never factor hits in.
It's mostly just in case the GM decides to add on a few modifiers I wasn't aware of, or just didn't account for.

At this rate, Smiley is going to just lock the damn car in a garage and never take it out. Of course, it'd probably still take damage through ridiculous means. A bomb goes off in another part of the city; shrapnel travels far and fast enough to go through the garage wall and hit the car.

I've been a bit slow to respond the past few days. I let myself willingly be abducted by my wife, and she's subjected me to all sorts of horrible things, like going to the movies, cooking out on the grill, and getting copious amounts of sex. All this so I could have a stress-free weekend before I start school back. I should be resurfacing now. I'll be making posts later on tonight and moving things along again.

Actually once we wrap up the current scene I'll probably be having us all go into about 36 hours of downtime. People can try to track down gear, learn spells, work some leads, and generally have chances to get into trouble. It allows me to do stuff for individuals or groups and possibly throw in some more individual plotline stuff. It also makes the game feel a bit more open and less like we're riding on rails. The individual PCs can just lay low and watch TV or they can try to do something exciting. They can stick together as a group or fan out separately.
Rastus
Aug 23 2010, 10:12 PM
Riding the rails? Looks to me like we were blowing up the rails, then tossing the scrap parts at people. Either way, be nice for Smiley to have a minute to repair his car. Wonder if Zaius and Lamhy will be standing in the same spot and doing nothing for those 36 hours as well.

You oughta ask one of them to supply the team with real estate. We'd only benefit from gaining a communal safehouse until we can steal a giant mansion with it's own garage, helipad, and landing strip for our purposes.

Morris: "Uh huh... so about six or eight hours after I gave you some money and an armored van with it's own machinegun, you met up with two targets, got made by Caucqi's, blew up two streets, recruited three or so unknown guys who happened to be around, and left a bunch of bodies to get picked clean by bums, gangers, cops, and cleaner teams, now you want a nice little clubhouse. What next? An IFV with a railgun cannon for it's main gun so you can flatten downtown before the Azzies make their first military push?"
