this was originally going to be a pm to Leo, but Shadow asked me to put it up OOC.. so here goes..
@ leowulf
you're completely right.. I was kind of looking for a fight.
I have a long standing dislike of a certain breed of roleplayers who consider "roleplaying" being as pissy and unlikeable as they possibly can simply because it serves their ego to cause a stir.
having said that.. I unfairly lumped you in with that group, without really observing you playing any other character.
so.. I concede and offer all apologies..
damn smileys.

Wot! I can't believe you brought that up! You... well, okay, casual insults aren't my strong point, so I'll just say you can't accessorize. Take that! <sounds of a catfight begin to brew>

Hmmm, James' last instruction just made me think of something: what are we going to do about Whisper? Can we have her NPC'd?
I know we just let Cougar kind of slide of the show, as it were (hindsight: we should've had an IC post that he didn't make it through and the Gate got him).

May 27 2004, 01:56 PM
The heck? My IC post in which Torque examines the Gems is gone. It must not have processed somehow. I'll have to repost it.
Moonstone Spider
May 27 2004, 01:59 PM
Since Whisper's an NPC Shadow can make her the Goa'uld without ticking off any player by destroying his/her character.
Of course now that I've said it that kind of ruins things. . .
Shadow
May 27 2004, 05:53 PM
I don't really want to play Whisper, and I was kind of hoping I could convince Morg to come back. But she hasn't responded to my emails...
For now she will go along with whatever James said.

There is very little cover. The main entrance way though is a corridor, and from the entrance you cannot see into the temple itself.

When we get the results back, and assuming Cosmo managed to stay afoot, these are the rolls for his two quick actions if/when he gets the chance.
Command to send Skyboard to the shadows at the top of the temple and wait on stand-by with Sensors on passive (Task Pool +3 dice): 1 4 7 3 2 4 1 3 3
Disappear into the closest shadow-filled nook (Stealth, Karma Pool +4 dice): 13 3 1 4 5 6 10
And there he'll stay, watching the scene unfold from his brave, bold position cowering in the GM's namesake.

Well whatever works I guess.
@Tziluthi: What do the Goa'uld have to do with spines? I saw the movie Stargate and Ra looked a lot like The Thing, kind of rock-like with sharp teeth when he wasn't in human form.
A Rodent of Unusual Size
May 29 2004, 07:56 PM
For all intents and purposes, the movie is completely different from the series.
kevyn668
May 29 2004, 11:03 PM
The Go'ould in the series are actually parasitic sybiotes. They look like snakes and take over a body by wrapping thier bodies around the spine and lodging its head in the lower brain stem of the "host". Hence "Snake-Heads"
The host is powerless but apparently remains aware of its surroundings and actions. Like being on a hitcher jack with a decker. Talk about nightmare...

Cosmo's performing a full-spectrum passive sensor as well as looking through the datastreams he had the drone recording before he summoned it inside.

Sorry to dump that on you, BGMFH, but Spider has a point. We should try to talk to whoever shows up. It could be the Asgaard (crosses fingers), I really dont wanna piss them off. I think it would be good if we could get a rough idea of where everything and everyone is in reference to the three mean guys. I'm spoiled by your drawings, Shadow. They are literally great for being illustrative. A quick rundown of positions would suffice if you don't have time to do a drawing. Basically, if Ghost Dragon is in the corner behind them, are they still visible, and are they still in the room or in the hallway leading up? You said they took some steps toward the pool.
Also, does the beam of light mean the commander is leaving, or is it some kind of shield?
kevyn668
Jun 1 2004, 03:59 AM
The beam of light is probably his personal shield. We'll know in a minute...
"All unists:
Irene. I say again, all units:
Irene."
Free Action: called shot to the head of the First Prime.
Simple Action: Aim
Simple Action: 3 round burst
SMGs (TN's: +1 for uncompensated recoil, -2 for SL2, -2 for Aim, called shot penalty negated by SL2): 3, 3, 5, 5, 7, 9
HK base dmg: 8M. I don't know what range, final TN, or final damage I'm looking at. Hopefully a lot
It just occured to me how tactically screwed we are. A Go'oul Mother Ship just (probably) set down on top of the Pyramid. We have no where to retreat to. We have to way to escape. We're outmaned and outgunned.
Edit: So, my first thought when Torque got shot was to say IC:
"Torque's down!!
Medi- ...Aw crap."
On the brightside, they probably have a Sarcophagus (sp?)

Okay, so rolling against a 5S (Plus 4 Combat Pool)
05 19 03 09 04 05 01 01 04
5 Successes, stage down to L.
Rolling against 5D (Plus 5 Combat pool)
01 03 07 10 05 01 10 07 02 04
5 Successes, stage down to an M. I guess I'll have to live with 4 Boxes of damage until I have time to biotech it.
Anyway Torque will use aim once and fire on the nearest Guy with a staff, if they're still here when his initiative pass comes.
Rolling against a 4 (No combat Pool):
01 02 04 10 02 04
3 Successes, goody I stage it up to 9D.

Ghost Dragon is going to try and sneak up behind the remaining Jaffa while maintaining his spell. Even if the guy hears him, he'll have a blind fire modifier and a lighting modifier to overcome for any attack roll.
Stealth Roll: 4, 4, 2
