SLash is going to wear his full set of Armor, (the Armor jacket, and formfit armor) and bring his sword, just cause he's paraniod like htat, but no guns or anything like that.
TinkerGnome
Corbin armors up in different clothing than he wore the day before and packs the Elan at his ankle. It should be pretty much impossible to spot without a chemsniffer.
Shadow
FFBA 3 and Secure coat.

He didnt bring his Colt cause he had to fly a comercial flight.
Number 6
Left the weapons in the car.
Dashifen
Okay -- sorry for the delay. I'm in the process of moving out of my apartment and preparing for a job interview on Friday. I'll get the meet posted by this evening so that we can get off the ground again smile.gif
Dashifen
So, I lied. It's now 10:40pm my time and I'm not done moving my stuff yet. I'll try to get to the post tomorrow.

I appologize for the delay in the game. I won't let it die, but when I started it, my schedule was more open. I got a job interview on Friday (as mentioned above) but didn't know about it until last Friday. I originally had 5 days to move (M-F this week) but now had only 3 (M-W). Oh well. I may not get a chance to post the meeting stuff until Saturday morning or afternoon. Hang in there, I'm dedicated to this game, I just have to get by this week!!!
Shadow
I gave the thread a much needed post... I hope you are okay Dash.
Dashifen
Good news: Interview went well. Plane flights were on time. Rental car didn't explode. Better news: IC post momentarily!!!
Dashifen
Slash: Gonna nead what you're going to do with the sword before I can move you forward into the club.

Everyone else: Let me know what you do when you get to the room with the chairs. Also, if there's anything you want to do between receiving your notes (or instructions in the case of Ikarus) and heading upstairs, let me know that, too.
paul_HArkonen
The Blade is no big deal, he just kinda doesn't trust going down the street with out it, a little paraniod about the gangs or Ork Haters in the world.
Dashifen
Damn. With my life getting in the way of my shadowrunning (again) last week, I forgot to make digital maps for you guys. I'll have them done tomorrow (hopefully) and post them for you all.
Dashifen
If anyone wants to negotiate with the Johnson for a better upfront or percentage rate, put your negotiation rolls here. don't worry about the target number, just post the rolls smile.gif
TinkerGnome
Corbin's not going to try to negotiate wink.gif I'd post more, but I want to make sure anyone who does want to attempt negotiations gets a chance wink.gif
Number 6
Hmm, can I try Corporate Finance to see what corps typically pay for such a run? Neither my character nor I have been on a real run before embarrassed.gif If so, I got a 05 05 04.
TinkerGnome
The price sounds fair, particularly with the cut of the take. However, it'd be good to know the downside of negotiation... Dash, if the Johnson really snows us, will we loose cash?
Number 6
I don't see how, he already mentioned a price. I figured at worst he'll say 'no' to any negotiation, and we'll still make the nuyen.gif5,000 + 5% Which, yeah, sounds reasonable. I estimate maybe nuyen.gif 200,000 so nuyen.gif 10,000 split 6 ways is nuyen.gif 1,667. Or about nuyen.gif 6,700 each for the job. Maybe more, maybe a little less depending on the take.

Now expenses, how much of that are we gonna blow on ammo and trauma patches? Hell, i need nuyen.gif 12,000 a month just to break even on lifestyle and DocWagon. Yeah, I think i'll try negotiating. IC post to come, probably after I get some feedback from Dashifen on my Finance roll....
TinkerGnome
Well, your target number for ammo and healing costs is always 0 wink.gif

He wouldn't say "Oh, well then how about 3,500 and 5%", but he might say "3,500 and 6%" which could be a serious downgrade since he knows about how much to expect from the take. Stuff like that.
Number 6
However he has to realize that the more of our pay he shunts to a percentage, the more likely we are to 'fudge' our reported take from the fight, and pocket in cash what we determine to be a decent wage.

Of course he may have already factored that in, since we have no rep, and thus the low %. spin.gif wobble.gif

Corporate Finance, as I usually use it, would be more to do with legal bookkeepping and not the shadowy kind. However, because you thought of a cool/creative concept to make a knowledge skill more useful that it originally appear to me (makes a note of that) I'll go with it for now.

You background in finance tells you that the upfront cost is probably more than enough to cover things, especially since the group could work as a team and combine the 5,000 up front --- he's essentially dropping 30,000 on the team up front, and convention dictated that he assume it would be split evenly. That said, the percentage could stand to be a bit higher, especially, as you stated above, the final cut of the percentage would have to be splite the same 6 ways.

TinkerGnome and Number 6: I play negotiates exactly as stated in SR3. There is only one concideration -- if the final price is lowered because the target of a player's negotiation scores more successes than the player did, then I throw something else in to account for the loss in money. For example, unrelated to this run, if you scored 3 successes on negotiations and I score 5, the rules would state that I could alter the cost or payment to my favor by 10% (i.e. your upfront cost could go down to 4,500). However, no sane person would ever agree to this, therefore, perhaps the up front goes down to 4,500 nuyen, but the Johnson also agrees to perform a favor for the team, like finding some Ex-Ex ammo or a new piece of armor for the front man. Usually the favor has a cost roughly equal to or more probably less than the "loss" due to the negotiations roll. That way, it would be more realistic for people to agree to a lower nuyen amount because they're getting help in some other capacity.
Nikoli
I think this guys knows almost to the nuyen how much there will be for us to take. Though I'll say this, my next otaku will have negotiate...
Number 6
I don't really anticipate 4 successes, but gotta start somewhere eh?

Negotiations: 06 06 06 03 03 01

Now, the 1 cancels out one of the 6's right? Please excuse my ignorance, haven't played in awhile....

Do we do this the same way as with Fixers? My TN is his Intelligence? -1 for Good Looking, of course.

Dashifen
Yes. Your TN is his intelligence (or willpower, some people don't play with the errata). I usually go with int or willpower, which ever is higher because I'm a bastard devil.gif

Because you didn't roll all 1's the 1 is just a failure, it doesn't cancel a success. Also, since this is an open test, you re-roll 6's. Basically, the only time you don't reroll 6's is for initiative.
Dashifen
QUOTE (Nikoli)

To address this, if anyone has any gambling skills or knowledge of wagering, etc. give me a roll and we'll see what happens.
Dashifen
QUOTE (Hellcow)
I hope i'm doing this right he thinks, as he gives the Johnson a charismatic and supremely confident smile. I'm so nervous I think i'm gonna puke.

Awesome. Totally sums up Hellcow in a few sentences smile.gif

Ok. I guess the GM of the 2-shot I played in told me wrong. Forgot the 6's reroll, here's the updated:

Negotiations: 10 08 08 03 03 01

Dashifen

Soluna
Since I'm just voicing the fact that I agree with others on the money issue, do you want me to bother rolling negotiations? (their negotiation skills are better than mine, if that matters)
Dashifen
yes, send me a roll (we're posting at the same time again) because I could use it as a complementary roll if things work out nicely for you.
Nikoli
By the way, I'll just default to intelligence for gambling:
[ Spoiler ]

Dashifen
Good idea, but in this case, I'm not going to go for it. Your intelligence tells you that "[You] think this guy knows almost to the nuyen how much there will be for us to take" the gambling/wagering background would be more to the point of estimation of the final results and an understanding of what would change those results and whether or not Mr. J could accurately forsee them..
Soluna
I only have two die for negotiations so my roll probably won't help at all. In fact it might hurt. I'm just saying that I agree with the others so I'm not going to roll negotiations because I don't feel that saying you agree with something is negotiating for that thing (plus I don't want to hurt anything).
Dashifen
Works for me.

When Hellcow mentions the 50/50 split amoung contacts, the changeling dwarf, silent until this moment, snorts but quickly composes himself.

Nice touch wink.gif

Instead of waiting i'm gonna go ahead and reply IC now. I know we typically wait a day for the whole group to respond, but I figure this is mostly my ballgame anyway. If there are/were any problems with that, please lemme know.
Dashifen
post away. I'll rework the timeline if necessary to account for the asychronous communication we have going on. I've done it before, I'll do it again.
Shadow
@ Number 6,

hey I love what your doing with your character very good role-playing stuff. I just can't get past the ridiculousness of your name. I hope you can forgive me for that. Trace will be calling you Slick from now on. smile.gif
paul_HArkonen
I've been kinda out of the loop for a while, sorry for taking so long aobut it, I've got a knowledge skill: criminal orgainzations of 1 if that counts for knowing how much is banked in the fight.

knowledge: criminal orgainzations 2,

yeah, i know didly squat, oh well.
Dashifen
@paul -- no problem. slide back into the loop as necessary. just let me know if you're going to drop out so I know to make slash into an npc.
paul_HArkonen
nah its fine, i just missed the whole negotiations part, but then again, i'm not much use for that anyway, just explaining why it took so long for the post for the test.
Soluna
Knowledge Skill of Safehouse locales (4) to locate a place for us to meet and talk in private.

5,2,2,1

I already posted in the IC that I gave them an address to speed things along, but if that changes because of my roll, let me know and I'll edit.
Dashifen
Nah, that 5 gives you a good idea of where you can talk privately.
Nikoli
Sorry about the run-ons int he IC post, but I'm trying to wrap my skull around a 17 yr old gutter punk with a 10 Int attribute. I figure his thoughts are mostly random, streaming consciousness kinda stuff, so it'll be mostly fluff if you want to skip it.
Soluna
Way to reuse old characters, Dash...lol smile.gif

Well theres a very good reason for it wink.gif

I'm trying to get info out of Mablung, Mario and Jimbo. Since they're all male, I only get the -1TN from Good Looking. I suspect they'll ask around and call me back? FYI depending on what answers I get I may try a step up the ladder, Luigi and/or Smitty.

BTW is it too late to change my Ettiquite from 5/7 to a straight 6? I forgot in 3e you don't need to specialize.
Dashifen
Re: Number6 -- Yeah, I would prefer that you not change your etiquette at this stage of the game, sorry. You're right, in 3e you don't have to specialize but since you did I'd rather leave it alone for now. Sorry.

To everyone else: sorry I wasn't around on the weekend. The play I'm in opens in 9 days so we're putting the finishing touches on and on the home stretch. But it's also starting to take more and more time every day. I'll still try to be on here every weekday at least once, though. Hang in there!

Sounds good. Yes, they will get back to you when they get the messages. Assuming no lag between when you all left the meet and when you arrived at the Vixen, it's only been about a 1/2 hour and they haven't returned your call.

Anyone else tapping any contacts at this point or have anything else they need me to provide?
Number 6
Hellcow gave Lynx the keys to his Middle lifestyle 2BR apartment. It's in a decent neighborhood, but I dunno Seattle all that well, if someone can suggest an area? Thx.
Nikoli
Queen Anne Hill is good, run the gamut from High to Low and everything in between. And it's fairly central in Seattle proper
Soluna
We're not in Seattle, tho. It's in the Allentown/Bethlehem area of PA. Right around 6th and 7th street in Allentown is Ok because it's near the local government offices. Stuff above that is good, too, nothing high class, but not a dump. I don't know Bethlehem that well, but I know anywhere other than the southside is better than the southside smile.gif
