Okay, Monday came and went and I was knackered so here I am on Tuesday. Here's what I need:
Nikoli: the way I've always done matrix stuff online is to have you roll me a few iterations of any test. That way, if the host cancels any of your successes, I have another roll waiting for me. Otherwise, we all wait (even more) as you re-roll the test on a failure. So, give me three or four access rolls to see if you log on. I've provided you with a feeder about the architecture of the host for the gym on the IC thread.
TinkerGnome: give me a perception test and let me know what hearing mods you have.
Soluna: Electronics B/R to deal with the keypad faceplate and Electronics to hook your sequencer up to the keypad (assuming you have one) and let me know what rating sequencer you have. If you don't have a sequencer, then just give me the Electronics roll.
paul_H.: sorry, man, you're on hold for the moment
Shadow: you there, man, or am I running Trace?
Nikoli

Might have to recreate Ikarus, I can't find a copy anywhere. If you can find a copy of the SR3 file I sent you for DCRS, that'd help
Nikoli
Mar 9 2005, 03:40 PM
Okay, he's recreated.
Access Channel is 5
Index Channel is 3
File Channel is 6
Logon to host : 13 10 5 4 4 3 3 3
Locate File (Looking for the House Bank): 9 9 5 5 5 3 3 1
Assuming the file is found
Analyze File Subsystem: 5 5 4 3 2 2 2 1
DF is 6
Soluna
Mar 9 2005, 04:25 PM
Electronics B/R: 15 05 05 04 02 01
Electronics: 10 05 05 02 02 01
A B&E specialist without a sequencer! What dost thou take me for? lol I have one and the rating is 4.
Dashifen
Mar 10 2005, 02:34 AM
Nikoli: since locate file is an interogative (sp?) operation, you have not yet found you way into the "vault" of the host. Give me a few more Locate File tests. Do you still want the Analyze File Subsystem to happen?
Soluna: another electronics test to hotwire the safe.
Me: Look up the base time for hotwiring a lock
Nikoli
Mar 10 2005, 02:42 AM
yes
Here you go:
13 5 5 4 4 2 1 1
17 8 5 4 2 2 1 1
15 5 5 4 2 2 1 1
Soluna
Mar 10 2005, 04:17 PM
Damn! Oh well, just means I get to do things MacGuyver style :o)
Electronics: 05 04 04 04 04 04
Ugh! I botched that. The things probably gonna frackin electrocute me, now.
Soluna
Mar 10 2005, 04:18 PM
Ok, so since we may not be getting into this safe...anyone have C4? lol

Nikoli:
You've found the file, but you'll need to deal with the icon in front of you. It's proactive so you didn't need a sensor test
Give me a matrix initiative roll and declare your first action. To hit will be a target number 5 for you. If you want to take your first action to continue the Analyze File operation then you can, but the icon might try to pound you.
Lynx:
Intelligence test, please, my dear.
Soluna
Mar 11 2005, 04:48 PM
Uhh, ok:
Intelligence: 08 05 05 02 02 01
Woot! I am so smart...smrt

Mar 11 2005, 04:52 PM
Okay, you realize that -- since it's a maglock -- if the electricities off, then the door might also be unlocked, too.
Soluna
Mar 11 2005, 04:45 PM
Ahhhhh....right! Strength test to open door: 09 05 04 03 01
Nikoli
Mar 11 2005, 04:48 PM
I so gotta buy the pdf's so I can do this stuff at work.
Matrix Init: 29
I want to perform an Evade Maneuver (Simple Action)
Should be, if I'm reading my spreadsheet right, TN Security Rating - Cloak (+1 for Cyber Adept)
Here's the rolls:
Using 4 Hacking pool dice
11 7 7 5 5 5 5 4 4 3 3 1
Next portion of my turn, Analyze Icon on the File (Free Action)
[Control Test]
19 11 11 10 4 3 2 1
Final simple action is pending on the results of the Analyze Icon test. Should tell me if the file is encrypted, etc.
And ditch the Analyze File Subsystem test.
Nikoli
Mar 11 2005, 08:48 PM
See above
Dashifen
Mar 14 2005, 10:52 PM
People not Nikoli: I need to catch Nikoli up with the matrix stuff. Technically, everything he's done so far has happened prior to Lynx getting the face-plate off of the safe's maglock due to matrix-time. So he and I are going to have to work for a little while.
Nikoli: I'll get back to you tonight after my rehearsal.
Dashifen
Mar 15 2005, 06:19 AM
Okay, you owned the icon on your evasion, see IC post for some interesting flavor text on that one.
The sheet you sent me had your Control Channel at 3. Is that accurate? If so, the system beat you on the analyze test. I'll make an IC post about the results of that failure (it's more than just a failure unfortunately) IC after I hear from you about the accuracy of my copy of Ikarus. More on the nymph icons if depending on the results of the above.
At this point, I have to keep track of your actions based as in combat (i.e. 2 simples and a free) so that I know when the Mars icon re-aquires you and your evasion period ends. I'll be taking Matrix and SR3 to work with me tomorrow so if you post I should be able to respond @ lunch, after work, and after rehearsal tomorrow so we can get some good action going on as long as you're available to make quick posts as well
Nikoli
Mar 15 2005, 04:03 PM
Final simple action of the first pass:
Analyze security, Control test +remaining hacker pool
13 11 11 10 07 05 04 02 02 02
and yes, that is accurate, which is rather sad.
Dashifen
Mar 15 2005, 11:56 PM
Okay, with that control channel rating, you failed the analyze file operation but I didn't get any successes to combat your analyze security operation.
Also, give me a sensor test, too, please.
And sorry for the dely. Today was busier than I had expected. I didn't even get lunch.
Nikoli

Mar 16 2005, 03:50 AM
Well, looks like Mr. J will have to sniff his own data.
I'll begin my data download as my first simple action of the second pass.
Allocating 4 HP dice to DF making it 8
Files Test +2 HP
11 08 08 08 03 03 03 01
I/O speed is 1000, but terminal limits that to 800
Dashifen
Mar 16 2005, 04:00 AM
Well, the good news is that you got enough successes to beat the pavlov data bomb on the file. The bad news is that there's a pavlov data bomb on the file. Resist 4M damage and your download operation ceases until such a time as you can diffuse the data bomb. File test using a diffuse complex form if you have it, please. Since you've got the security in the IC thread, your TN is 7. Remember, if necessary, you have not yet used your karma pool
Edit: oh... pavlovs are white IC, so this is Icon damage not damage to you as an otaku.
Nikoli
Mar 16 2005, 05:06 AM
Bod resistence:
05 05 04 04 03 01
Should be no damage
Nikoli
Mar 16 2005, 05:32 AM
As disarm databomb is a complec action, I'll forgo my second simple and then make my attempt to disarm.
Still using 4 HP dice for a total DF of 8
Using 2 HP dice for test
10 09 08 07 05 05 05 05 04 01 for a total of 4 successes

Yup, no damage.
Also, you diffuse the bomb and you're good to begin the download.
Nikoli
Mar 17 2005, 01:27 PM
Sweet.
Maintaining the HP allocation
Begin download using +2 HP dice

Mar 23 2005, 02:03 AM
Okay, the download is finished (damned Otaku I/O speeds) but at the same time the downlod finishes, the icon reaquires you in the baths. Your evade had three turns left and I nailed three successes even to resist your download data operation. However, you still had remaining successes and therefore, I rule that you download the data (since the size of the banking information is far less than your I/O speed) at the same time as the icon reaquires, the "lost" combat turn for the download notwithstanding. You're move.
Nikoli
Mar 23 2005, 02:54 AM
1 Complex Action, Graceful Logoff
Access 5 'should' be a total TN of 11
Same HP allocation as before:
15 15 11 05 05 03 03 02 02 01 (3 sucesses)
Karma Pool to re-roll
15 11 11 09 04 02 02 (3 more successes)
Dashifen
Mar 23 2005, 02:37 PM
wOOt! And you're off. I only got one success. Which technically unlocked another step worth of IC, too
. If you want to know, you were at trigger step 15.
To all: Ikarus, for the sake of ease, is off the matrix at the same moment Lynx gets the door to the safe open. I'll wait so that Nikoli can post IC about his actions and you all can act a little and then we'll plow on through to the end of this thing.

ok, perception test. I've got ultrasound eyes and perceptive edge. (but not that much int, oh well)

Dash, i just went back over the search results you PM'd me from way back. You never specified this, but did my search turn up duct work?
paul_HArkonen
Mar 29 2005, 08:48 PM
I need to know how wide the duct is, and I don't know enough about it, but I suspect that ultrasound vision would give me a pretty decent idea of whether or not the duct turns or drops or for whatever reason just stops.
and if not I'll give you a perception roll as soon as I'm at my home comp and have my dice.

I didn't think of that. I'm at work now but I will try and go back to take a look at that afterwards and decide if you know about it or not.

All non-trolls could fit in this vent shaft. Orks might have an issue firing a weapon behind them, but smaller-than-orks could probably roll over and fire between their legs if necessary.
I didn't realize you had ultrasonics. In that case, the picture is a little blurred by all the reflected sonic vibration within the vent shaft, but it looks like the shaft turns 90 degrees to the right. Give me a perception test if you want more details.
paul_HArkonen
Mar 30 2005, 08:51 PM
I don't think I can get enough details to matter, How close is Lynx to the door? Slash is going to try to position himself near her, but slightly closer to the door so he can move in to strike when and if it opens.
Nikoli
Mar 31 2005, 02:51 AM
Assumming either I didn't turn up anythign about the duct or the lower duct is in fact the way out, or a reasonable facsimile thereof, here's my athletics test to crawl/climb/shimmy

unscrew
but if you put one of the big guys up there and have them hang on it, it'll probably just break.
And sorry for the delay. I specifically tell Thunderbird not to mark dumpshock mail as junk but I think it does sometimes anyway. I was watching for the "new post" email and didn't see it. Anyway, no back to your irregularly scheduled scrambling for an exit from a locked room

ok, I don't know how high I have to jump, or what my target number would be even if I did know.
so here is an open body test, (cybered body in parentesis)
Body: 13 11 09 08 07 05 05 04 03 01 (04 01 )
and stregnth becuase even after mods I think that 13 should be enough.
Oh, and please remember Slash has a superthyroid (making him just big) and Titainuim Bonelacing (making him heavy).
Stregnth: 10 05 04 04 03 02 01 01
I think that should be enough, but please let me know.
