Concerning rigging, helicopters available at chargen, as well as most vehicles and drones listed. All but 4 vehicles, 2 of which are military or security and 2 which are VTOL or VSTOL, T-bird and tilt wing. Hughes Stallion available at 225K and Ares Dragon at 495K. Oops went over that 250K limit but availability is 12.

Horizon is a new Megacopr that rose up out of noweher, I think, after the crash. I'm not real familiar with them or the post crash events, but they seem to be a different type of corporation as far as design and management stypes go. They're described as using "people-centered" management that focuses on grup consensus' and the like rather than having a traditional hierarchial managemet style.
Kinda neat as it changes the corps up a bit...

In all honesty, Horizons sounds like a cult of personality.... One figure leading a lower tier of people of "equal status.." Sort of like a terrorist cell, for instance.
Very modular, a lot more adaptable to shell companies... And if the name is any indicator, they are either looking hard at M2.0, or looking hard at the further awakening of Magic.

|
Eccept it wont guarantee going first like it used to. Isn´t going first the most crusial thing of all?
|
The odds of going first are still pretty damn good... Look at two characters with a base initative of 6 - one with WR2 and one without. As long as the wired guy gets at least one hit on 8 dice, the non-wired guy needs to get 4 hits on 6 dice to beat him. That's hardly ever going to happen.
I do fail to see how this, or anything having to do with combat so far, is appreciably easier or simpler, though...
|
But in SR3, a wired character would always go before an unwired character even if he had inferior reaction. Now razorboys will have to get their attributes up to a competitive level in order to win the first pass, otherwise they will be doing their three action passes with a nasty wound modifier.
For example, if in the old system a guy with rea 4 and wired reflexes 2 went up against a guy with rea 6 and no wired reflexes, the wired guy would have an advantage of ((4+4+3D6)-(8+1D6)=12) 12 points if both rolled their highest scores, while the lowes possible score he could get would be 11. In the new system, if we had a guy with ini 8 (rea 4+ int 4) and wired reflexes 2 and a guy with ini 12 with no cyber, the wired guy would have an advantage of ((8+2+10) -(12+12)=-2).. actually he´d loose if they both scored their hightest scores. I´m not very good with math so there may be some faults here, but I hope you get my point. (even if we used more moderate values as the system suggests, like ini 6 and 8, the result would be a tie if both rolled all hits)
I´m not totaly against it as it makes reflex mods even less mandatory, but it is a significant change.

Yeah, but they were bragging about how much extra junk they crammed into this base book -- bioware's never been in the core book, either, or rules for initiation, or build-point character creation, or blah blah blah.
