Panzergeist
I wouldn't mind skipping the boring part where we collect our stuff and heading straight to the bit where we head out of the city, unless you plan to have us attacked by gangers or something. Oh, and by the way, how far is it to our destination?
phelious fogg
Okay since you have all worked together a Locker mignht not be a bad thing to assume, but thats up to DH at the moment, its his RV. As to speeding things up, I was sort of waiting for everyone to get to the point where they walk out of the room.. I figured then I can speed ahead to what happens next. Currently you are all still sitting inside the office.
phelious fogg
Its aproximately 130 miles from Fort Smith to Tulsa. Its 40 west for about 60 miles to Muskogee, then the turnpike for about 30 miles after that is two highways and you are there.

For more info on both Fort Smith and Tulsa, try maps.yahoo.com consider them a little out of date though, since none have you have been to tulsa there might not be much your characters know about the place, but it has a reputation for being a really wild city on the boarder of CAS and UCAS. Sort of Like Niagra Falls now, but without all the wonderful scenery.

Did you decide to talk to the Secretary on the way out? or will you wing finding it? Ill Update things sometime today to fix up everything and start moving things ahead. Sorry that Im being a bad GM and all, but this is my first Pbp game. Sigh.. If only I was as good as Dashifen
phelious fogg
Roll Initive and surpise everyone
Grey
Surprise: 10 08 05 04 02 #D:5 TN:4 H#:10 S:4

Initiative: 9
Panzergeist
Surprise: 1 2 4 4 10 three successes

Initiative: 10

How far am I from the minigrenade, and what kind of cover is there within a few meters of me?
kevyn668
Surprise: 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6

Initiative: 18

BTW, I think you're doing fine. I didn't mean for us to fast forward. I just want to avoid everyone having to say "I go to my place and grab all my shadow-drek..." Sorry. That's my fault. embarrassed.gif
Panzergeist
Yeah, well, looks like we will have the chance to reconsider that if we don't get blown up. Anyway, finding the clinic won't exactly be an archeological expedition. If we leave without asking the secretary for the address, we can always look it up in a city registry right?
phelious fogg
Panzer, if you read the IC post, you'll notices that Rawhide got the adress. I figured it was something he would do, and I wanted to move things ahead a bit.
Bearclaw
Initiative = 6 + 5 = 11
Surprise = 7,5,4,4,2,1

Do the guards seem to be focused on us, or on getting inside, away from what ever is happening out there?
If they're looking at us, I'll pull my katana and play rear guard while everyone heads down the stairs to the parking garage.
If they're looking back, I'm doing the same thing, except I'm heading down the stairs with everyone else.
Panzergeist
Parking garage? Oh, that's great, I thought we were parked in an outdoor parking lot, and would have to fight our way through the enemies. This presumably makes things easier. ohplease.gif
Digital Heroin
Initiative: 6 (Go slug-boy, go!)
Suprise: 1,2,2,3,11

Rawhide'll be going for his Deputy, and taking cover, but not before he makes sure his bother's covered.
Panzergeist
Oh, you're right, I frgot that Rawhide had talked to the secretary. Okay, so we have what we need, and now we just have to escape. What's a deputy, is that some kind of pistol?
Digital Heroin
Yes, it's an old west style revolver...
phelious fogg
So yeah.. bad info on my fault, Bearclaw assumed a parking garage in his post, so now there is one, but the RV is still parked outside (Doesnt quite fit in a parking garage) So backing down the stairs might be a good strategy, not that it will save your puny mortal behinds.. but hey.. Ill let you have a little break every now and again. It just means I have got to pay more attention to what you post in the future.
Panzergeist
Soon as the combat turn officially starts, I am going to use a free action to "observe," looking out the front of the lobby to see how many attakers there are. We're in a city domain now right?
Grey
If we're in the lobby, when we are in a Hearth. P-Fogg, can you give us a good description of the lobby, exits, things to take cover in, and what is outside? I'm a little unclear right now.
Bearclaw
And exactly what's between us and the RV.
phelious fogg
Sometime today Ill post a graphic explaining where everything is, untill then I am fairly busy today. Outside is a City Domain, the Lobby is a Hearth domain. In addition do you want me to post the first round of combat or not later tonight?
phelious fogg
http://bingweb.binghamton.edu/~gbowlin1/sh...owrun/lobby.jpg

thats what the lobby looks like right now, if you want to post any actions like diving for cover etc.. north is up, like a standard map.

If you got two sucesses on the surprise test feel free to post your action IC, then I can sum up what happens after a few of you post. then the surprise round is up, and we go by the initive for a few rounds.
Panzergeist
So it looks like we could either go out the front door and around the side to the RV, or we could go down the stairs to the underground parking garage and run out the vehicle ramp to the surface parking lot and the RV. It looks like there are 7 guards in the lobby with us; they can provide covering fire for us when we move. Since the RV is our biggest firepower asset, I think the best idea would be to split up, sending Rawhide, and either Fallon or Kyle escorting him, downstairs to the parking garage and then to the RV. Duke can dive behind the receptionists desk to get total cover and jack in to the building security system, watching the security cameras for us. One of the guards can probably give him a username and password to do that. The other 3 of us can stay in the lobby and help the guards hold off the attackers while Rawhide brings the RV around and mows them down with his machine gun turret. Alternatively, Rawhide could go alone, with me keeping him invisible.
Grey
Throwing all my combat pool into dodge.

Dodge: 10 18 08 05 05 05 04 04 02 #D:9 TN:4 H#:10 S:8
Panzergeist
Dodge? Do you have to declare dodge usage before you are actually attacked during surprise rounds? Is the underground parking garage a city or hearth domain?

Okay, for my movement action, I move behind the desk just to our left (south), the one farthest back in the lobby, taking full cover. I spend my complex action to astrally project. Rerolling iniative for the astral plane, I get a 28.
Grey
Yes, dodge. He said that if we got at least 2 success on the surprise roll that we got to take an action. So I dodge.
Panzergeist
Yeah, but I thought you dodged as a reflex when someone shot you, not allocated dodge dice like spell defense. Does it work differently in surprise rounds?
Grey
I was just rolling in advance so P Fogg could keep the game going, what is the problem with that?
Panzergeist
There's no problem with it, I just didn't understand what you were doing. Calm down.
kevyn668
First action: Quick Draw:
1 2 3 4 4 4 5 11

I goning to delay my firing actions until I can see any targets. All I'm looking for are goons not wearing Mobius uniforms.
phelious fogg
The cover protects most of you from the blast, those who got hit resisted the leftover damage, grey congrats on your dodge. It does occur to me, can you really 'dodge' a grenade. Everyone is unharmed, the two gaurds at the door a now dead. Two of the guards who came down have light wounds. Bearclaw is at the stairs on the bottom of the picture I put up. Ill have another picture up sometime today or tommarow morning.
kevyn668
I'm goning to have to wait until tonight (7 or 8 ish EST) before I can post. But if you want to work around me, I can delay my actions. GM's prerogative.
Panzergeist
I can imagine an AP grenade being dodged, since it relies on shrapnel. HE grenades are another story. Most likely "dodging" a grenade doesn't mean not getting hit, but rather turning away so it hits you in the back.

Phogg, I have an initiative of 28, since I used my surprise action to astrally project. Does that mean I go first, or does kevyn still go first?
kevyn668
Free Action: Talking to Duke ("you OK?" or some such)

Simple Action: Observe--looking for signs of being a magician (Mage or Shaman--just to be clear wink.gif )
Preception: 3, 3, 4, 4, 5

If he notices anthing "magery", that bloke get's it. If not, the Trog'll do.

First shot: base TN:(not sure on the range), Smartlink (-2 to TN), no recoil penalty.
Pistols: 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9

BLAM-O.

Do I still have partial cover from the couch?

I'll add a corresponding IC post after the resutls of the Perception Test.
Panzergeist
I assense the 2 humans.
Human 1: 2 3 4 8 10 13 on the Intelligence, 1 1 2 3 4 4 on the aura reading, for 5 successes
Human 2: 1 2 2 3 3 5 on intelligence, 2 2 3 4 5 10 on aura reading, 2 successes.
Move action: 8 meters west, towards the front door.
Free action: Observe, looking out the remains of the front door for more attackers, vehicles, dead security guards, drones, anything really.
phelious fogg
Kyle doesnt notice anything magey.. The troll is carrying a minigun and the two humans are packing assult rifles, one of which has a underbarrel grenade launcher.

Panzer.. didnt notice you had higher init, so you go first, Ill update the ic post to relect that. Post how you would like to describe your actions on the IC thread, and Ill try to update after each round of combat, if not before. Anyone seen Fallon?
Panzergeist
I just looked Fallon up, and he hasn't posted anything in 3 days. He'd better not have gone on vacation without us. My suggestion is, have his character take cover in the surprise round, roll initiative for him, and consider his actions held until he shows up. Either that or conduct this battle as if his character weren't present.
kevyn668
Or he could've run off w/ Rover. That would take him out of the immediate action but keep him in the game.
phelious fogg
New Scene

http://bingweb.binghamton.edu/~gbowlin1/sh...wrun/lobby2.jpg

Ill update combat at the end of the day, giving people a chance to respond, Fallon will cover Scuzzy during his out of body experience.
Panzergeist
Goddamn, my out of body experience is starting to sound like a bad idea. I was expecting the attackers to just stay outside and lob more grenades in. Now that they have come inside, I could stunball them if I weren't in the freaking astral. I just hope you guys can hold them off for 1 combat turn so I can get back into my body.

Phogg, I can't read any of the writing in that diagram. Is there something I should be doing with my display options to fix that? Is the orange blob supposed to be my astral body?
Grey
Yeah, the orange X is you in the astral. If you copy the file local and look at it you may have a better chance. In IE it'll shrink the file down to your window, but if you look at it in full size, you should be ok.
Bearclaw
Bearclaw didn't go anywhere nyahnyah.gif
Anyway, since no one's following him out the back door, which they should, because our mission is now to protect and deliver that box, Rover is coming back to fight.
kevyn668
That brings up an intersting question: who has the case?
Grey
Duke has flashbacks when in combat situations, so I'll roll to see if he freezes up.

Willpower: 11 09 04 03 02 02 01 01 #D:8 TN:6 H#:11 S:2

Nope, I'm good.
phelious fogg
For the sake of giving someone the case, Kyle has it.
Panzergeist
In addition to just escaping, we would like to prevent this building from being destroyed and/or ransacked, since that would likely result in the company losing all records of us and our employment, including the memo telling them to pay us 15k more after this mission.
Fallon_Blackthorne
Wraith's kewl with them loosing records of him working for them... where's the badside to that?
Panzergeist
I just said the bad side: We don't get fifteen grand apiece after this run.
Fallon_Blackthorne
Whaaa... you were only suppose to get 15 from the get go. But I understand where yer comin from.

*curses* Stupid attention to detail....Stupid Kevyn...I mean: "Thank you for the honor of.....allowing me to carry a big fat bullseye with me" biggrin.gif

For the record, Kyle rushed into this fracas b/c his a merc. They kind of have an "all other duties as assigned" arangement in his mind. Besides, why duck these guys only to have to fight them later, right? Besides that, I like to roll the dice! smile.gif
phelious fogg
Outside there is background count of 2 now.

I used three combat pool to dodge the opposition for Bearclaw's opponent.

I rolled for all of you who didnt post rolls, just so that i could get this far into the round. Duke and Rawhide still havent posted any actions, so I am waiting on those. then It will go to Panzer again, etc.
