JxJxA--Yes, you saw the face clearly enough to give a mental image. since you didn't assense him you can only give appearance, not aura.

Cool, using a simple action to request a remote service to send the Tlacelel out to kill the mage and his friends. Free action to reply to Papa. I guess we're heading off campus, then? I'm broke and can't afford to pay any university fees (especially if they are as bad as UCSD parking violation fees x_x)

JxJxA--Can you roll Intuition + Logic (2) for me?
JxJxA
Jan 29 2012, 11:31 PM
Is that intuition + logicx2?
BishopMcQ
Jan 29 2012, 11:46 PM
Intuition + Logic, threshold (number of hits needed to succeed) is 2.
JxJxA
Jan 29 2012, 11:54 PM
Ok, cool. Sorry, got confused.
Logic(3) + Intuition(3) =
6d6 for 2 hits.

Uetz remembers that his ID isn't the one being flashed on his commlink right now, it's a random janitor from the staff list.

LOL, well, he probably shouldn't pass on any more bad karma after pasting a couple of mooks with that stunball...

Ok going to look around for a pixie sized entrance if possible (vent, window, etc) trying to keep out of sight. Have Movement and Concealment from
Leo to help.
Perception (D"zan) Test to assist

All--I need Uetz, Papa and D'zan to soak 10P (Fire). Leo was not in the smoke because he'd flown high to target the rifle.
Before I do the next bump, please verify your plan:
D'zan and Leo -- Breaking in to get the book. No Commlink.
Uetz -- Fleeing the scene, active mode (janitor).
Papa -- Calling a taxi, fleeing the scene, active mode (janitor).
Argent is being left on a bench looking like he passed out, active mode (janitor).
JxJxA
Jan 31 2012, 03:48 AM
Just to make sure, we're not using our armor on the soak, right?
BishopMcQ
Jan 31 2012, 04:12 AM
If you have inhalation protection that can help, but no one said that they were wearing gas masks as part of their janitor disguise to my knowledge.
JxJxA
Jan 31 2012, 04:20 AM
No inhalation protection, just checking to see what dice pool I'm tossing. Looks like it's pure body for me.
Soaking 10P (Fire):
Body(4) =
4d6 for 2 hits. I'll probably be spending the next combat turn pulling out a trauma patch.

Feb 1 2012, 07:36 PM
Ok rolling Edge with the Body test
Body + Edge6d6.hitsopen(5,6)=4So that leaves me with 6 boxes of damage out of my 10
How much time has passed now - is
Leo still sustaining the Heal spell on
Papa? This has become relevant for me.

Topic Hop: Did we ever find another player for the thread?

Leo is done sustaining. Yes, Saytr will be joining in as soon as we wrap the scene at UCLA.

8d6.hits(5)=511 total
Drain 414d6.hits(5)=5Editing post to include the healing.

Bishop, are we still moving in initiative? If not, I'll start taking remedial actions to deal with the fire damage.

We are out of initiative. As a reminder, I need confirmation about the above plans, to make sure I have your course of actions correct.

Yep to the actions you have listed with the addition of trying to grab Argent on the way out when leaving campus.

I'm with Papa on heading out of UCLA. I'm guessing Uetz is familiar enough with how D'zan operates to figure out that he's out looking for the book and will meet up with the gang when he's done.

Resisting 10P
Body(7) + FormFit(6) + Chameleon Suit(6) + Dermal(1)
[3,3,5,5,5,2,2,2,2,6,6,4,2,6,3,6,1,6,6,5] = 10 hits
Then I reread the post...
So... spending second edge...
Body(7) + Edge(5)=
[3,3,5,5,5,2,2,2,2,6,6,4; Open 6's:
2,6; Open 6:
3; 6,1,6,6,5] = 6 hits
All those darn hits at the end... *sigh*
Taking 4 damage

Papa earns +1 Public Awareness.
Uetz is overcome by depression, refusing to do anything other than eat, sleep, and go about his daily routine. If forced into action, at a -4 dice pool modifier.

Wow, even at the 5 point level? That's going to make traveling into the metaplanes to bring Q back even more difficult... x_x
BishopMcQ
Feb 4 2012, 06:35 PM
Yep, because you chose to actively disregard the flaw, the penalty for it is coming in. If it had been an accident, there wouldn't be the penalty (though the 10BP version would have the penalty even for the accident), but you went bloodlust and rage.

Feb 4 2012, 06:39 PM
Fair dues. I take it I can expect it for several weeks in-game?
BishopMcQ
Feb 4 2012, 08:36 PM
I'll shorten it down a bit. Remember the other items are rather distant, so you guys can take down time, make plans, meet your new team member etc. before heading out. Likewise if you want to find a buyer for the items to turn it into cash payment, you can.
Buddha72
Feb 4 2012, 09:39 PM
OK here's a run down of my plan - use the front door and try to use the public areas to get as close to the book as possible since they will be less warded or maybe not warded at all. Stealth plus Concealment to avoid detection and taking Leo with me as back up. If I am not detected and can get the book - grab it and back track the way I came. As soon as I hit open sky fly my pixie ass out of there with Movement because I'm serious about leaving.
Let me know what rolls you need etc. Trying to fast time it a little since everyone else is waiting for this to wrap up.

Going to go out the way I came upon seeing that
Argent is gone (was PMing with
BishopMcQ this morning) make a bee line for home in the hopes of regrouping with the rest of the team.
As a side note with
Argent/Fenris dropping out I am going to take this opportunity to switch characters - in part due to the interweaving I had did with his character in backgrounds and motivations; I also have a character from one of
BishopMcQ's other games that feels ideal for this thread and that game did not run long enough to really enjoy the character and let's be honest I like making characters.

I checked with the boss man and he has given me the go ahead. The new toon will fill many of the same roles that
D'zan did so no holes from switching.
Just wanted to let people know.
JxJxA
Feb 7 2012, 03:49 AM
Thanks for the heads-up. I need to ask about the group initiation stuff, though. Bishop, can Uetz still initiate as if he's in the group? He, D'zan, and Argent all formed a circle (triangle?) of sorts. I just want to know if I need to change anything as we move forward.
BishopMcQ
Feb 7 2012, 04:00 AM
When I planned to move Argent off stage left, I was going to make him unavailable for a bit. (He was on UCLA and hunted by UCLA...it all fit.) If Torrey would like to have D'zan stay in the area, you can still use the group. If not, then a new group may be in order.
As soon as we get posts from Papa and Uetz detailing their escape strategy, we can do the wrap up--delivery of the book, disposition of the other items, etc. After that, I'll weave the Saytr and Buddha's new character in, and you'll be off in search of fame and fortune for the other two items. Or choose to do something else...
JxJxA
Feb 8 2012, 05:51 AM
I'll post a little more in a bit (just having lunch right now). I'm assuming not dying is part of his daily routine, but summoning watcher spirits is not. Depending on how well concealed D'zan or Leo are, he might be able to send a watcher with a message to let them know that Papa and Uetz are planning on booking it from UCLA via taxi.
Just for bookkeeping, Uetz has 9 boxes of physical damage (one from the first failed summoning) and is a box away from death's door. If a watcher doesn't seem like it'd be able to find him I could try a fire spirit (it's my tradition's detection magic spirit), although I don't know how happy they'd be with a fire spirit searching for them.
BishopMcQ
Feb 8 2012, 04:03 PM
JxJxA--Uetz would know that if D'zan is using his Concealment power, a Watcher cannot find him, and it would require a powerful spirit (F6 or higher) to reliably find him. It doesn't have to be the spirit for your tradition's detection, it needs to be a spirit with the Search power. He'd also know that with Leo at his side, D'zan can outrun most sports cars (130 mph without making Sprinting tests). If he is heading home, you can probably find him on the security cameras before you get home in the taxi.
JxJxA
Feb 9 2012, 07:06 AM
Fair dues, so maybe I should have phrased it that he'll spot the watcher rather than the other way around. I've used them before in-game as stand-ins for me when I'm resting off stun (like at the Troll Market), and I'm guessing he'll recognize my huitzilcoatl (hummingbird-winged serpent) as Uetz's.

Here goes a big fat nothing: Summoning a Watcher for 1 hour (max)
Magic(6) + Summoning(4) + Power Focus(4) - Depression(4) - Wounds(3) =
7d6 for 2 hits, but only 1 counts.
Resist Drain: 1S
Willpower(9) + Charisma(5) + Centering(2) - Depression(4) =
12d6 for 4 hits, and
0 more hits if depression doesn't affect drain resist tests.
The instruction to it will be if D'zan or Leo approach it, to let them know that we're heading home.

Feb 9 2012, 07:10 AM
Sounds good.

Feb 10 2012, 04:15 AM
Cool. It's more a courtesy than really a foolproof plan, especially since we're split up.
Just out of curiosity, what should we do with the items? If I remember correctly, we were picking up the Book of Enoch which might grant eternal life. If we sell it, won't agents of the Endless just go to that place and steal it? Aren't we supposed to stop them? I am confused. ?_?
BishopMcQ
Feb 10 2012, 04:54 AM
The book needs to be delivered to your employer, D'zan picked up two other items from the inferno in his mad dash.

Ah, okay. That makes more sense. There was a lot of stuff going on in that last battle, and I must have missed it. Thanks!

Well I say let's jump to the loft and settle our business with our employer and move the thread forward.
BishopMcQ
Feb 11 2012, 12:48 AM
Okay, my apologies, I thought I had made it clear I was waiting for you guys to let me know your escape plan.
D'zan is flying at Ludicrous Speed (they've gone plaid!) with Concealment.
I haven't seen any actions being taken by Uetz and Papa to throw off their pursuit, muddy the waters etc from later investigation etc. I also need to know if Papa was accepting the offer. I'll do the bump Saturday afternoon if I don't see anything before then. If people want to post their arrival at the safe house before then, I will use the Saturday bump for handing over the book.
JxJxA
Feb 11 2012, 05:26 AM
Uetz will probably go back and disperse the massive magic echo he left from casting by the building. Preferably taking a different route to the building.
I thought we were going to grab a cab and head back home, hopefully in an indirect fashion.
I'm kinda sorta waiting on Papa to see if he wants to start doing some first aid. I can cast a Increase(Logic) spell to help him patch us up. I have a Rating 6 medkit in my backpack. Once we do that, I can use magic to clean up any leftover wounds.
Buddha72
Feb 12 2012, 05:20 AM
Leo is going to cast Heal - how many boxes of damage does Uetz have and what modifiers should I be rolling with?
BishopMcQ
Feb 12 2012, 05:26 AM
He has 9 boxes of Physical. No Essence loss.
JxJxA
Feb 12 2012, 06:35 AM
I'm not sure if I can assist Leo, but I've still got an 11d6 dice pool to toss at healing with physical and depression penalties. I'd like to get back to somewhat fighting form ASAP.
BishopMcQ
Feb 12 2012, 05:02 PM
Because Leo is using magic, to assist, would be Ritual Spellcasting. You'd need a lodge, and it would take hours instead of seconds. Before he patches you up with the spell, you could use First Aid to patch up what damage you can, then have him do magic.
