Sorry for the relatively brief posts but I've had a lot of shit going on IRL the last few days. Not to the point where I want to stop the game or anything; brain just sucks.

Anyways if I forgot anything or you need clarification let me know. I really should give you bonus karma for managing to start a full-scale riot in the span of under two weeks since I took over Aria. Hehe.
Grimm
Also, shopping list and karma expenditure both look okay. I'll get that updated.

@Aria: Should be updated. PM me if I missed anything. Also I'm giving some thought to your initiation. I'll look at that stuff you suggested though.

Shooting Roll for Dahlia

Agility + Pistols + Take Aim 7+4+1=12 (12d6.hits(5)=3)
Suicidal Street Sam
Can we have something clarified real quick?

For Dahlia, the text reads:

QUOTE (Grimm @ Nov 19 2010, 08:12 PM) *
The first figure that Dahlia caught sight of as she steeled her will to the firefight as a dwarf in a three-quarter length trench coat. He appeared to be edging towards the door of apartment opposite of hers. Tentatively, he peeked partially around the corner to try and look down the hall.

Can you tell us if the dwarf is inside the apartment, trying to see if it's safe to leave, or if he's one of the invaders, trying to see inside the apartment? I find it a bit ambiguous.

I mean, we're going to shoot at him either way, but I like to be sure.
Grimm
He's inside the apartment door looking around the corner out into the hallway where the entry doors to the various apartments are.
Suicidal Street Sam
Okay. So, I'm still going to back up Starship shooting the guy. Just so long as we all know the dwarf is the homemaker, and not the invader.

Although, we can always check his prints for bounties in the after-fire! : D
AStarshipforAnts
And if the dwarf ends up being someone we don't want to kill, that's what the Narcoject is for!
Grimm
I'm going to be out of town housesitting until the 29th. I may try and get an updated in during that time period but I dont know if Ill be able to or not.

Fixed.

Fixed further.

Can I get a quick layout of what the positions of all individuals in that apartment? I'm assuming that I'm in there at the start of the round.

Bump.
Grimm
Hey guys. Didn't forget about you. Just had PC trouble and had to replace my HD. Woohoo.

Layout wise, the one astral figure is laid out near the door. There is the three that are still huddled in the corner. And two that are still standing upright with their focus on the door.

I'll update Karma/Nuyen soonish.
Suicidal Street Sam
Shot at the elf and are you freaking kidding me. 1 Hit.

Next turn, do it again. Same thing. 4 Hits this time for 6P to the elf's gun-arm.
AStarshipforAnts
Sorry to hear about the computer trouble. Also, do you have an email I could send an excel sheet to? The numbers for Dahlia's shopping list are just so neat on a spreadsheet...

Shooting at the elf once, then taking cover.
Agility + Pistols + Smartgun (I forgot this last time. OOPS) = 7+4+1 = 12

12d6.hits(5)=2

Looks like Dahlia's aim is a little off here. wobble.gif

Quick question: are there any characters who are actively interested in being played, who are not already tied up with the brouhaha that Grimm has cooking? If there are, I'd try my hand at coming up with some story line for them. If not, I'll just keep trying to come up with a character to submit myself...
Grimm
Hell, if anything; you could do up a quicky for me. My PC is a troll go-ganger in the Spikes who's currently embroiled in the riot that was going on. I was going to have him slip away from the rest of the PCs afterwards because I don't want my character involved in my storyline to avoid a conflict of interest. His sheet is up in the Database v2 thread if you want to have a look. Scar.

I'll give him a read and see if I can't find something nefarious to get him into this weekend.
Grimm
That works. After the riot he'll just end up going back to ground with the gang. So from there it'll be pretty flexible.

Extricate Scar and get him back to the Rust Ring, and I'll see if his fixer can't do something nice for him.

I'll check on that after I go to the grocery. If that's true, then I've been short two dice for a while. INFINITE SADNESS.
J. Packer
While I'm working on getting a storyline together for Scar, and whomever else I drag into it, I wanted to get a character submitted as well. He's a work in progress. I've got to type up his physical description and a background story on him, yet.

He's a young ex-con ganger learning to be a hermetic mage

Yes, you silly person - I spent 0 on Edge, giving me an edge stat of 2. In much the same way as I spent 65 on Magic, giving me a 6 stat. Though I must say I like the idea that, at Edge 0, you're likely to spontaneously combust. While pumping gas. On the day they're filling the tanks.

Gamer manifest has been updated.

@J. Packer: I'll go over your character today. Meant to yesterday but work beckoned.
Grimm
@J. Packer: Your character has been added.

@Everyone:
I’ve been thinking about how to handle large purchases without upsetting the balance of power in 2072 and promoting fairness across the board. This is what I have come up with.

The last week of each IRL month will be the players opportunity to make a major purchase. The player may choose an item that interests them and purchase it at a drastic discount. The way you get it is irrelevant. It could be from a contact, your mother might have had one stashed under her bed, or the mafia might have kidnapped you and shoved it in your body for shits and giggles. Justify it however you want to.

The cost will be two-fold.
*Nuyen cost will be 10-25% of the list price.
*The player needs to have IC posted as a player or GM, at least 3 out of the 4 weeks of that month. (Including the request week) Exceptions will be publicly stated on a case by case basis for transparency; if any.

This will accomplish a few things.
1. It will promote people participating or launching their own plots.
2. It will open access to high end items to players that are participating, not just one-shotters.
3. It will limit the flow of high end items into the game that could potentially allow twinking.
4. Rewards long-term players for their continued dedication to the game.

The only con I can think of is it will put new players slightly under the curve. Which honestly, I don’t really give too much of a shit about. The players aren’t killing each other so it is largely irrelevant to me.

System in Action:
Trigger the Rigger (god I’m clever) wants to acquire a facility to build and produce some drones in. He’s posted every week in the last month so he puts the word out through a contact of his with the city that he is looking for a facility which runs ¥100,000 as per the corebook. Contact calls back later and has found a property that has been sitting in a sea of red tape for quite some time due to zoning issues. The contact informs him that for ¥25,000; he can grease the wheels of the government and Trigger can move into his new Facility in short order.

Thoughts, suggestions, complaints?
Aria
Sounds good to me...roll on that bioware smile.gif

Will probably have to wait for the end of Jan though as I'm unlikely to be posting over the holiday, ah well nyahnyah.gif
J. Packer
Before I kick off a side plot for Scar/Grimm, are there any other active players who are not embroiled in the fight at the housing complex that want to be dragged into something else?
Grimm
Actually Aria, I'd probably give everyone present a request starting out since we've been going for awhile and I know some of you have been waiting for this information. After that initial one, then we'd revert to end of the month.

Also not going to worry too much about holidays. I view a lot of these things as GM discretionary. I just don't see a reason to put everything down since I'm one of the most anal retentive people I know about fairness even for people I don't like/agree with.

I mostly just wanted to get feedback before I instituted it as a policy.
Grimm
Aria, can you refresh me on what it was that you wanted so I don't have to dig through the OOC thread.

Grimm:

AStarshipForAnts will be unavailable for a few days to a week due to hospitalization.

To nip things in the bud, ASFA's recovering but I don't have many details beyond that at this time.

Not a problem. Tell him to get well or else I'm docking him Karma.

If The Doctor doesn't mind, I'm fine with waiting until Starship is back up and running to finish the scene. It being Dahlia's apartment (and little brother) in the first place, I would feel...remorseful...if we utterly destroyed it (and him) without "permission".

I'm stilling toying with thoughts of a synaptic booster and perhaps enhanced articulation bioware but not entirely sure whether that would screw my magic nyahnyah.gif
Grimm
As I understand it, it will affect your magic. Bioware has an Essence cost, it is just less intrusive than cyberware so you lose less Essence. And you always round down according to the corebook. So any augmentation is going to have a negative affect on your Magic. From the looks of Adepts it would result in a power point reduction that would need to be accounted for.
Aria
But I've already lost a point from existing cyber so it depends on the essence cost...I might just squeeze the booster in to the point of essence I've already lost and so have no effect on magic smile.gif
Grimm
Ah I see, didn't realize you already had ware in. Be sure to check out the rules on stacking bioware and cyberware (if you aren't already familiar) I know one of their essence costs get halved when figuring out the loss so it might make it easier to work in some more ware.
J. Packer
Just kibbitzing, but if you got that Synaptic Booster 1 in Alphaware, it would be reduced in essence cost to just .2 (0.5, 50% since you have less bioware than cyberware, 80% since it's Alphaware) which I think would just fit into the fractional Essence point you have left.

I've been contemplating this post a bit myself since it was put up. I would prefer not to pause the current scene. We can circumvent any circumstances that arise that endanger or affect his character and assets for the time being.

Not trying to be a dick or anything, I just don't see a reason to put things on hold when we don't know how long he'll be away or need to recover. I'll of course get him back into the game at such a time as he decides he is able to participate again. Even if it requires a deus ex machina materialization from a Star Trek teleporter. Soon as he's ready, he's back in; but for now I'll just slide him off to the side and put him on hold.

Unless you guys have a major problem with it.

I think we're looking at late this week; either Thursday or Friday, is what I've been told.

But no, we can continue with the scene if you want. Honestly, we (I) take enough time to consider things, anyway, that Starship probably won't miss much by Friday even if we do continue.
Doc Chase
Oh good, I'm back out of the loop. Things are returning to a semblance of normalcy!
