Um...

I get the feeling that this is viral marketing?

I have two clues for this suspicion.
1: The graphics quality on the animation is... Surprisingly smooth, fluid, and accurate-looking... And we know that MLP:FiM is actually made in Flash.
But, perhaps more damningly...
2: I see Horizon's - errr - the Hub's logo in the bottom-right corner of the flash.

Also, um...

TwoThree questions about the contents.
1: Why do Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash have a car?
2: Why do they appear to be transporting a cut-out of Twilight Sparkle in the back?
3: Is it just me, or are Pinkie Pie's eyes locked on Applejack's head like she has impure designs on her?

@ShadowDragon:
No idea, i just wanted to test wether or not direct embedding works for flash files in here.

I *LOVE* watching paranoid runners dissect pony videos wink.gif

(You're probably right, though. I don't remember seeing that car before, so I don't know why the Hub brandmark would be on it.)

The hub Logo doubles as an on/off switch for the sound of that flash file.

Even so... I mean, why would an independent flash maker making a tribute/meme video loop go to the trouble of constructing and putting in the Hub's TV logo to serve as a sound on/off button when the traditional speaker icon would be more effective and less noticeable?

I mean, putting their logo on it makes it seem like something they did, or authorized. I could see the evil lawyer department having a problem with that, even if they've been instructed not to have any problems with anything up to and including bronies uploading the new episodes on YouTube.

Plus, as I mentioned, from how fluid the animation is - and the background - it almost looks like whomever made it had access to the Flash assets from the show's creation library.
KarmaInferno
"Fluid animation" on what amounts to a 3 second loop just means whoever made it has some skill. A competent flash artist could probably do it in a few days, even drawing all the artwork from scratch.

The Hub logo is kinda odd though.

Alternately, perhaps this was modified/edited together from existing clips of the show?

Probably, but it doesn't just have to be fluid, it has to be accurate, too. I mean, I can't swear that it wasn't just the work of a devoted Brony, but to me it does look like they had access to the animation assets from the show itself.

That's the one that gets me.

Not impossible, but I think probably unlikely.
ShadowDragon8685
Wow. I just some found some Grade A Disturbiawesome shit. It's called Equestria Divided, and basically, it's a full-bore civil war in Equestria with the Mane Six each leading one of a rival faction. (Well, sort-of, in Pinkie's case.)

I get the feeling that DisQord is behind this shit.

It kind of reminds me of the Iron Kingdoms, in that I get the feeling this would work equally well as a wargame or a roleplaying game.
Stahlseele

Well well well... What have we here?

I'm not sure what it is, as I haven't been able to try it yet (going to, though,) but someone linked me to this. "My Little Pony Online." Whaaa? Should be interesting...
Dumori
I return to find this thread, 3 pages of "nostalgia".
nezumi
So this is an MLP MMORPG?
KarmaInferno
Can't find any legal verbiage, so I assume it's yet another fan-made unlicensed work.

More or less, though recently I heard it was dead due to Hasbro but that post linked is newer, then Hasbro is getting really friendly to the FiM fandom these days, we're free money, or at least an interesting enough demographic to gamble with.

Indeed. Well, some of us, anyway. smile.gif

They're starting to realize that "make things pink" doesn't always equal better. I doubt the little girl followers of the show were particularly pleased that they made Celestia's toy pink instead of white, but the bronies, I understand, were insulted. Insulted enough that it made enough of a difference in sales that someone in Hasbro's toy marketing department with some neurons to fire together realized that they had blundered by trying to cater strictly to the notion that little girls want only pink stuff, and released a proper Princess Celestia... Which promptly started flying right off the shelves into Brony collections.

Then again, Hasbro is kind of known for its blunders, such as 4e getting outsold by Pathfinder. They're starting to figure out how to turn them around, though, it seems.
ShadowDragon8685
And now something for the sure-to-be-tiny "Shadowrun Enthusiast/Friendship is Magic Fan/Minecraft Player" crossover. (Actually, I expect it's likely to be every last one of you who posts in this thread.)

Presenting: Mine Little Pony.

The best part is that with some wriggling and working, you can actually get a character skinning program to work (more or less) showing whole ponies and letting you color them!

For reference...

This is Stormcloud, a pony I made with the most excellent (if somewhat limited, especially for making stallions) Pony Creator by Generalzoi of deviantart. (I'll explain the pose if you really want me to.)

This and this are also Stormcloud, looking considerably blockier and lower-resolution. Let the record state that I have practically no direct artistic talent or spriting experience whatsoever, and I was able to do that in about two hours, after an hour of figuring out which program I wanted to use.

So if you like Ponies, you like Minecraft, and you're reading this thread, you may find these relevant to your interests. (I'll post a full run-through of how to get what programs up and running for use to do this if anyone asks me to do so.)

Haven't played minecraft in months actually.
Also haven't played WOT either somehow . .

But i do remember this from the Yogscast! ^^

You should play more Minecraft! smile.gif

I showed Mine Little Pony to a friend of mine and she made me make her a Rainbow Dork skin, then we spent like, all night building stuff.

It's very easy to fall into the "An exterior designer is you!" trap, isn't it? smile.gif
Stahlseele
It is, but after having remodelled an entire continent, i simply do not have the inspiration and patience to build anything anymore . .

That some very awesome stuff and i definedly agree about the Iron Kingdoms point.
Discord definedly isn't behind it, the guy writing them said in one comment section that making him be behind it would just undermine the whole setting.

Yeah, I'm now kicking myself for not getting Fallout 3 when it was on sale for $10 on Steam.

But I had GenCon to save for.

For console, sure. I got it for console.

Need it for PC to get the changes they're suggesting, and that's not for sale anywhere in town for PC.
Stahlseele
Aaah, i see . . consolero problems . .
I always forget people actually play these kind of games on these restricted things nowadays . .
CanRay
Yeah, well, loading New Vegas on my computer is a crap shoot. It loads all the time on my console.

reminds me, i got a new drive and OS, i need to reinstall FNV and this time the GOTY one with the DLC to see what these are like finally . .

Dead Money is like some sort of psychotic cross between Oceans 11 and Resident Evil.
Old World Blues takes the Wizard of Oz and flavors it Fallout style. There's also a lot of talk about penises especially on whether your toes are penises.

I haven't played Honest Hearts or Lonesome road but Gun Runner's Arsenal and Courier's stash are just item packs and not "storyline".

Honest Hearts is Mormons and Tribals.

Lonesome Road is "OMG, WTF did The Courier do BEFORE getting shot in the head???"

The whole build-up was making me think 'haters gonna hate.' Then the big switch at the end, I'm still laughing.
