It's pretty simple, really; if you've got way more money and lawyers than the other guy, you can initiate legal proceedings on the thinnest, most spurious justification, just anything that has enough of a barest shred of merit to actually go to court, and drag them out, causing the other guy to rack up more legal bills than he can pay, forcing him to go bankrupt trying to defend himself in a case he'd win hands-down - if he could actually get to the end, which he can't.
You're basically using the law - that's designed to protect him - as a bludgeon against him to force him to capitulate despite the law being on his side, because he literally does not have sufficient money and resources to see the legal proceedings to the end, and if he tries he'll be utterly ruined.
You may recognize this asstarded sort of dirty trick from the playbooks of the RIAA and the Church of $cientology. Yep, they went and ruined the judicial system for all of us.
