Book is projecting out of his body. His destination is to see how close he can get to the administrative office, but he is wary of the watchers in the area and will back off if they seem to pay him any attention. He will also try a different angle like dropping in from the top.
ludomastro
Mar 11 2008, 03:40 AM
Make a stealth roll in your attempt for sneakiness.
Also see my edited post from S.E.
Redjack
Mar 12 2008, 02:59 AM
Actually, I'm not trying for stealth. I'm looking for an angle where the watchers are not watching. If that is not an option, then he simply makes a perception test to see if he can see inside the office from a distance. If that also is not an option, he simply returns to his body.

Not a problem, that's why we have an OOC.

Intuition(4) + Perception(2) + Visual(2) + Actively Looking(3) - Sustaining Spells(4) = 7dp
[5,5,2,1,3,4,4] = 2 hits

Hmmm, I guess the skull and bones guy is Book. My first reaction was the other way around so I am curious if my gut or my logic was right.

Your gut is correct. Tank is dressed in the street cloths (skull t-shirt)

"Bum" perception test.
Intuition (3) + Perception (3) = 6 = 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 6 = 1 success and a glitch
Poor sap not only failed he failed miserably.
Can't use Dodge to get out of the way. Reaction 5 = 1, 3, 4, 4, 6 = 1 success. Sucks for him!
Takes 6S(e) + 2 (narrow burst) + 5 (net successes) = 13S(e) (-half impact)
Armor = 8/6 = 3 dice. Body (4) + Armor (3) = 7 = 1, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 6 = 3 successes.
13 - 3 = 10 boxes of stun.
Still standing, but barely.

In an effort to clean up the house, it would appear that my wife has misplaced some of my notes. Oh well. I remember most of them.
Rolling initiative for guard: Initiative = 7 / 1 IP
1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4 = no successes
Final initiative = 7 / 1 IP
Rolling initiative for the spirit: Initiative = 10 / 3 IP (astral)
1, 1, 2, 3 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6 = 5 successes
Final initiative = 15 / 3 IP (astral)
Since Book has been prepared for a while now and the spirit just joined in, I'll reduce the spirits IPs to 2 for this round.
Spirit resists manabolt:
Willpower (5) + Counterspelling (0)
2, 3, 5, 5, 6 = 3 successes
3 < 5, nice effect.
Spirit takes 11P and is disrupted.
I would like to resolve all the astral stuff before we go back to the meat world. I've done non-concurrent IP actions but it gets messy. Therefore let me know how you want to handle remaining actions for Book and spirits.
Edited to remove my stupidity per Redjack's comments below.

Hmmm... Are you referencing another game? I cast stun bolt with 5 base hits.
F9 Stun Bolt: [2,5,6,4,5,6,6] = 5 hitsIf he got three hits, then I have 2 net. That yields DV11. If he is F6 or less, he just went good-bye (physical drain would be worth it to get rid of that nasty bugger). If he is F7 or higher, Book is going to drop an astral turd and find religion.

A hot sim VR user gets +2 to all Matrix actions (p. 229, SR4). Does that mean a rigger using hot sim VR gets that bonus to tests for controlling a vehicle, piloting, gunnery, etc? Is this bonus cumulative with the +2 bonus for using a control rig?
Yes.
Tank Initiative:
[3,5,6,6,6,4,4,1,5] = 5 hits; Initiative = 14 (3 passes)
Active Targeting Results:
[1,2,5,2,6,6] = 3 hits
Pass #1 shot:
[5,2,5,5,1,3,3,1,2,4,6,5,2,3,1] = 5hits
Damage: 6S(e) - 1/2armor + 2 (Narrow Burst) + net hits

Mar 22 2008, 03:46 AM
Before the meat world takes over, Book needs to make a Perception check.
-----
Guard has Reaction (4)
2, 3, 4, 6 = 1 success
Tank's hits (5) - Guard's hits (1) = 4
6S(e) - 1/2 armor (4) + Narrow Burst (2) + Net hits (4) = 10S(e)
Guard goes down.

Nice on the four successes. Book sees the mage in the office poke his head out of the ward for a split second. He appears human, maybe an elf. Each of the three watchers break in separate directions and scream off into the night.
-----
Tank sees the lights in the museum go off. System Error speaks in his own voice for the first time in a while. They knocked the power offline - I think they were trying to get the system to reboot. Let's go, Scandisk will keep the system down so that they can't reboot anything unless we ask for it.

Here is the jist of their movements. They will proceed into the museum, the fly-spy ahead of them scouting ahead from the ceiling line. If they make it to the edge of the first ward, Tank will wait there, sitting off to the side, his microcamera on his lapel with a video feed coming into to a window. He will then jump into the doberman and pass through the ward with the two drones. Book will tell the spirits not to penetrate the ward in the fulfillment other their service (guard him), unless he is being attacked. Book will then follow the doberman through the wards till he is just inside the inner ward...
Let me know if they make it that far.

Book and Tank will take their actions this phase... Hoping to make the best of them.
Tank:

[4,4] = 0 hits
- Issue command (simple action)
Book:
- Summon (complex action) F4 Air Spirit (Energy Aura)
[1,2,2,2,4,3,2,5,5] = 2 hits
- Spirit Resists:
[3,4,5,1] = 1 hit
- Buy off DV2 drain; Spirit summoned with on2 service.
Doberman:
- Initiative
[4,1,5,2,5,5,4,3] = 11 (3 passes)
- Active Targeting (simple action)
[1,6,4,3,5,1] = 2 hits
ludomastro

Active targeting would be minus 3 (page 162) for the metahuman you are hunting. I will knock out one success unless you want to reroll the whole thing.
Therefore, 1 success on the targeting check. The guard is not looking to evade the drone - he doesn't know it's there yet - so your drone gets a lock.

Just adjust the dice. That is much easier than rerolling.
Anytime you find an adjustment, lets just drop them from (or add them to) the end.
Neither Tank, nor Book get an action until next round.
Doberman:
[3,3,2,5,2,3,5,2] = 2 hits
Base DV: 6S(e) + 2 (Narrow Burst) + net hits
F4 Bound Air Spirit (Elemental Attack): Initiative
[6,4,2,3,4,5,2,6] = 11 (3 passes)
Astral Attack:
[1,5,2,2,2,3,6,4] = 2 hits
F4 Bound Spirit of Man (Heal): Initiative
[4,5,1,4,6,4,1,3] = 10 (Passes)
Astral Attack:
[2,4,6,2,5,3,6,1] = 3 hits
