Ok so here is my plan, tell me if there is any parts that don't mesh.
1) The circle is force 7, so I will cast Mind Probe at Force 7 using ritual magic and a material link.
2) Since Nix and Aiden are of different traditions, Nix can only get aid from the air elementals.
3) Aiden and Nix' bound spirit of man will attempt to track via astral tracking (pg28-28,SM) & (pg185,sr4)
4) Casting time will be 6 hours.
5) I plan to throw edge before both the casting and the drain (which will be DV5P).
6) With a force of 7 and an edge of 3, I am limited to 10 initial hits + any rule of six hits.
7) My dp is: Magic(6) + Ritual(5) + F3 Air(3) + F3 Air(3) + F3 Air(3) + Edge(3) = dp23

If we are good, I will throw the dice on invisible castle.

Remember to roll the Edge dice seperately. I put up a thread asking aoubt this in the SR4 forum. That was the consesus. It's only the Edge reroll dice tha can og over the force of the spell.

I don't necessarily agree there is consensus, but I do agree that it is your game and subject to your interpretation. That said... Let the rolls commence:

And that means I am trying to track while he is doing that, with an extended Intuition + Assensing Test (Threshold Base 5 + Whatever modifiers are added, ala Pg. 184 BBB).

Assensing 4 + Intuition 4 : 8 Dice. If I don't find him in the first five hours, I will use Edge on the last one in a last ditch effort to find him.



Astral Tracking Extended Test (8d6.vs(5)=4, 8d6.vs(5)=6, 8d6.vs(5)=3, 8d6.vs(5)=4, 8d6.vs(5)=3)

If I need that sixth hour then something is seriously fucked, because my rolling is amazing.

His Magic 3 + Intuition 3 is used for his Search Power. His successes are then added to my assensing tests as a teamwork bonus.

His hits for each hour are: Astral Tracking Teamwork (6d6.vs(5)=3, 6d6.vs(5)=2, 6d6.vs(5)=3, 6d6.vs(5)=4, 6d6.vs(5)=2, 6d6.vs(5)=4)

So, the dice added to my tests are, 3, 2, 3, 4, 2, 4

The rolls:
For the 3's : 3d6.vs(5)=0, 3d6.vs(5)=0, no help on the 1st or 3rd hour.
For the 2's : 2d6.vs(5)=0, 2d6.vs(5)=1, 1 Successes on the 5th hour.
For the 4's: 4d6.vs(5)=2, 4d6.vs(5)=1, 2 Successes on 4th hour, 1 on the 6th.

So, after it all, my astral tracking tests come out as.
1st Hour: 4
2nd Hour: 6
3rd Hour: 3
4th Hour: 6
5th hour: 4
6th Hour: 6

With a grand total of 29 hits on this Extended Astral Tracking.

Redjack - no bonus as the Current Events is well out of your stomping grounds and not common knowledge.

Excellent tests. buidling off of the information already compiled by Magpye, Nix is able to come up with some more interesting information.

• There was a large spike in kidnappings across the baord in ages below 10
• all were within the last year
• a number of the cases were solved
• the cases ranged across all demographics and income ranges

however;

• The found children were mostly in the older age bracket, or the lower income range
• None of the children of the magically active were found
• There are over 30 missing children falling within the high income/magically active division still missing

Any luck on continuing my astral quest? My last post was a while ago and I have just been waiting....

I simply thought Nix would have known I was on one, since he was around while I was preparing myself for the quest and I figured he would have recognized the signs of preparation for an astral quest.

Don't worry bout it from my point of view. My character is just being a jerk.

No worries here either. I was kinda assuming there was nothing to tell Nix definitively that you were on a quest until the hours you were gone went past a mage's normal astral time limit.

In any case, we are an established team who look out for each other despite disagreements or nit-picking at each other. You are a chaos mage, so I translate that to a little bit of spontaneous activity without prior warning to the team.

Does Nix set a service fro man elemental to guard Eyes? Please state what type and the serice used form what you have.

So oyu guys are doing a quiet little stake out of hte police station then. How long are you planning on staying there for starters?

Rob, since you're driving, we'll say make a Shadowing roll. Apply a -1 modifier for a large and rather obvious vehicle.

Planning on staying there no later than 2000 hours, based on a potential reply from Dances on clouds as to whether he'll be able to meet with me. Need to olfactory scan his house and his son's stuff, run down developments.

As for the stake out, should I make two shadowing rolls? One for parking the vehicle and having it watch the rear, one for me dismounting and watching the front?

If you're stepping out and watching form another side, then yes, two seperate rolls. I'll give you +2 dice for the disguise.

RJ, what are you doing for the stake out duration?

Nix will be performing astral patrols, watching for the target and replacing the watchers on Aiden, Caliph and his own body every two hours. He will also keep watch on his coms for updates from either Spider or Trixy during regular intervals.

Finally, he will send a brief note to Spider about the Jarek hair. Of course Nix believes it is a plant to throw them off but his has to explore all options.

Is the station astrally warded? Astrally patrolled?

Well, given that the detective is our current, best lead... I guess its a waiting game then.

@Fist: My concern wasn't with the amount of time to wait - Caliph is a pro at waiting... It would be cool to figger out anything from the surveillance, tho.

@Red - Sweet. We'll see how it plays out. Caliph isn't likely to have much sympathy with that decision (what with it being his rear, and all), but that's his and Nix's problem, not ours.
