In the past few seconds, Hammer has ordered the inner gate opened. Brian took off running through the receiving lot, looking for a good position. Crispy has an airborne drone up with an eye on the SUV, and Nova has cast a spell to see what's going on inside. Brian sent a heads up to the S3, Lancaster, about the disturbance. Hammer is taking cover at the corner of the guard house. Khote was looking for some cover and turning on his chameleon suit.

Is someone going to hit the button to open the inner gate? Its only physical connection, they left it hardwired (not VR/AR) to try to make it less of a hacking target. Nova or Crispy could spent a moment to hit the button.

With Nova going astral and concentrating on spells, I guess Crispy is available to go push the button. Will he have to come down to ground level to do it? If so, for "next time" he might try to rig some kind of hard-wired remote control for the tower

No there's a trigger for it on the level where Crispy is

Yeah the mechanism is in the lower guard house but the button is upstairs,

We seem to have taken adequate precautions so we're not all in range of some ones full auto, good.

I'm taking it under advisement that we have incoming, but with the outer gate still closed, we on the ground cant see an SUV other than the tacnet feed. So until Morales answers my call or the outer gate opens, we're reliant on only Nova , no problem with that but further clarification would be preferable.

That said, if the gate opens the SUV will not be a priority target on her say so, gotta trust the team!

Would it be SOP to let someone know that the food truck was about to be let inside? Lancaster or French or someone?

There's nothing written in the info your character has available, but its a good question. In this case, the driver seems that he's familiar with the process and the base - probably made deliveries here before, and likely knows where he's going. But it'd be easy enough to make a post to the Base's matrix node that the truck has arrived. That way anyone watching for it will have a heads up.

Brian and Khote, i'm sorry i don't have a handle on your magics or skills yet, so if theres something you want to offer please please please speak out.


Hope my IC is clear for my intentions, using the gatehouse as cover, letting the truck pass and halting the SUV.

My magical aid is completely passive. When it comes to counterspelling, I determine who i am including in its protection (all of the team that I have LOS on which is why i moved to as central location as possible), then if any spell tries to affect one of us (even if I am completely unaware of the spell) we get to add my counterspelling (10 for all spells or 12 vs. Combat Spells) to resist the spell.

So if somebody were trying to walk in here with an Invisibility spell, we would roll Intuition + 10 dice from my counterspelling to try and resist it. If somebody cast stunbolt at one of us, we'd roll Willpower + 12 dice counterspelling to resist it.

The rest of my spells/powers don't come into effect until something starts happening, like my Combat Sense power gives me +5 to the Reaction tests for Surprise as well as for defending against ranged and melee attacks.

Morales and the guys on the outer gate did not seem super phased by it, not panicked or the like. Though at the gunfire they did spring to action, so to speak.

The external gate began to close shortly after the SUV passed through it. A couple of the guards on the outer gate are standing by their guardhouse on the inside, watching you all and the SUV.

They moved through he receiving lot a little faster than you might have, but then stopped a couple of feet behind the truck. As the truck drove slowly through the gate, the SUV stayed a few feet behind it. Hammer stepped in front of it and raised his hand, and the SUV stopped - just a foot or two from Hammer, and the elf driver looks annoyed. (see IC post)

Lemme know if you want some form of Charisma / Ettiquette roll to calm the situation,

Hammer wants to test the play, but not piss off some potential compadres here.

When we first got to the camp, your IC post for Khote mentioned him falling into conversation with some members of 309 Bravo. Are these guys some that he saw then and can verify as belonging in the camp?

Oh damn, you're absolutely right. That was a mistake on my part. Normally I'd roll with it, but it presents a continuity problem. 309 Bravo cannot be drinking in the canteen while also out on an operation.

Therefore, the folks you met in the canteern were 309 Delta.

Khote is doing his best to look over the SUV for signs they might not be who they say they are......but considering i just nearly critically glitched that roll, he sees absolutely nothing.

I'm waiting for a few moments on confirmation from :

Nova , that her magical overwatch has not given any indication of trouble from outside the gate,

Morales , that the outer gate is closed and he's okay with any altercations outside, is there still gunfire ? or has it died off now ?

Crispy with his drone that was going under the SUV once it had arrived

And any of the team that they have issues on the alleged team 309-B's identities.

I think I trust them enough, but I'm not risking my ass on the first day, just cause they are about to give the "New Guys" a hard time.#

Took an hour before duty, no sleep regulator but I do have Crispy the the perpetual entertaining machine to keep me wide awake

Remind me - which characters caught a nap before guard duty?

Also, remind me if you have a sleep regulator or anything else that would impact whether or not your character becomes fatigued on a long overnight guard shift

Khote slept away most of the time since arriving at the camp, no more than 2 hours spent settling in and getting the lay of the land.

Uh, crap. No nap, no sleep regulator. The only defense Crispy has right now is the adrenaline thrill from being the UNDISPUTED champion of robot death chicken from mars.

And a dose of LongHaul in his autoinjector. But that's for emergencies, he doesn't relish staying up 3 days straight if he doesn't have to...

Nova took a nap earlier AND has a sleep regulator! Looks like Crispy can have all the sleep he wants

absolutely NOT wanting to meta game the effects of fatigue, but I did imply in an earlier post that we should be taking regular rests of about an hour off



Hammer has just had his first 20 minutes and Crispy is currently negotiating for a comfy spot upstairs
