It's around 4 in the afternoon. Your security shift starts at 7pm and runs until 7am. You've not been told where you'll be pulling security, but are informed that you're to be at the admin building at 6:30pm. You have picked up though that you'll be working security within the camp, or on one of the entrance/exits.

Get whatever posts in that you like, and I'll move us along when appropriate.

Costs for gear are 25% higher than in the books, but availability is -4.

Oh, good. I will place an order for a few clips with AV ammo, then. smile.gif

Do we roll our Negotiation normally for that?

And how do we do extended tests? -1 dice pool per roll?

I think I'm set,

Still need a secure lockable area for our own personal use
(fire arms, expensives not carried and explosives, unless we are forced to use the camp armoury)

Comms and TacNet is setup and we are subscribed (is Khote joining it?)
Weaponry and Armor is cleaned checked and ready
Local area knowledge has been gained and updated
Maps updated with a brief tactical overlay (where the bar and cookhouse is)
Magic overview is being conducted and traditional peace pipe has been passed
Beverages and refreshments have received due diligence and health & safety testing

Anything I missed ?

oh yeah, we found the med centre and they are on standby to receive

Just need some feedback on our interactions with the NPC's etc. but that can totally wait until we have figured out how many is Too Many civilian deaths.

Dak
Let's try this.

Anything of 14 availability or under is considered to be available to you. Still make a roll to determine whether its "on the shelf" or needs to be ordered.

For things of availability higher than 14, make the roll as normal to determine if it can be procured.

Yes Khote has joined the TacNet too. I'll try to get something IC posted later today.

The barracks you guys are in has lockers with maglocks so you can secure stuff.
Thanee
I would also like to figure out local sources for gear and stuff, just in case it is needed. Maybe find a Talismonger for ritual materials. I will start asking around in our watering hole with my next IC post. smile.gif

Anyways... here's a Negotiation test for acquring some APDS and AV ammo. Didn't roll for spare clips, they are 5¥ and AV 4-4=0.

APDS 70¥x15x1.25 + 50¥x1.25 = 1,375¥ for 150 rounds (heavy pistol) + 10 spare clips AV 16-4=12 Interval 12 hours (base price up to 100¥)

Negotiation -> 5 hits
Negotiation -> 1 hit
Negotiation -> 2 hits
Negotiation -> 2 hits
Negotiation -> 2 hits

Takes 2.5 days to get those.

AV 120¥x14x1.25 + 50¥x1.25 = 2,162.5¥ for 140 rounds (sniper rifle) + 10 spare clips AV 18-4=14 Interval 1 day (base price up to 1,000¥)

Negotiation -> 4 hits
Negotiation -> 3 hits
Negotiation -> 2 hits
Negotiation -> 2 hits
Negotiation -> 1 hit
Negotiation -> 2 hits

Takes 6 days to get those.

okay, from my sheet, one can of Foam ex and all the Commercial explosives are in storage with the timed detonators (keeping the radio caps)
other than some spare mags of ex-ammo and Gel rounds the ammo is going too,

Who exactly are we dealing with for getting stuff then ? Artemis or someone else we haven't met yet ?

Modified my last IC post: http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?show...t&p=1211962

There's a commissary for toiletries and books and junk. And the armory for weaponry and such. You all have been on base for an hour or two, so you've certainly not met everyone yet. But its easy to assume that you've at least wandered past the armory, maybe even stuck your head inside. Its an armory that functions like a gun store. Lots of gear, all of it under lock and key.

Confirmed.

Contacts are somewhat tight at the moment: you're really only in touch with people on the base. Down the road there'll be opportunity for contacts elsewhere I'm sure.

Awesome smile.gif making friends all over the show.

an hours rest then and 30 minutes prep just to be sure before we rock up for duty, I might just take a wander round the edge of the compound (unless we are asked to keep heads down)

just get an eagle eye view of the surrounding area.. and watch the comings and goings of the locals, how the current shift operate with arrivals and departures etc.

Dak
I plan to advance IC shortly. If there's anything that you want to do/resolve/chat about beforehand, please make it clear in IC or let me know here.
phlapjack77
Before the shift starts, Crispy wants to get his drone airborne. He'll also offer to take the entryway position, the MMG probably being good for securing that kind of area.

awww .. thought you'd want to check ID and vehicles and be the "Scary guy" on the door nyahnyah.gif
phlapjack77
Well that would be fitting for the awesome-ness that is Crispy too! smile.gif

Guess it's time for another glorious Etiquette roll.

One hit with a glitch this time, lol. Maybe I should use another skill for all future interactions with people, such as Automatics. wink.gif

tossing something to Brian. A roll of toilet paper.

and that, right there ... is comedy genius !! smile.gif

Indeed. biggrin.gif
phlapjack77
The TP is worth it's weight in gold!
Mach_Ten
I can just see it now .. you lot walking out of the Armoury .. Crispy with a drone and fuel followed by nova with Arm loads of AV Ammo... then Brian walks out after looked dejectedly down at his solitary roll of TP smile.gif

for everything else, there's Mastercard. smile.gif
Dakka Fiend
You are mocking now. But for the price of a few rounds of AV ammo and a pint of fuel, I can totally bury the opposition in toilet paper!
phlapjack77
Makes you wonder what the commissary guy knows, that he thinks this is the valuable stuff...

Reactive armor and rocket propelled anti tank.

I'm not enjoying your seeming unhealthy obsession with "Boomy" stuff ! especially as I'm NOT wearing ablative armour ! frown.gif

But we all have the poor man's version of (re)active armor: shoot first.

I'm tempted to say "Bring it ON!" ... but seriously , I don't wanna see the pointy end of a Panther Assault Cannon on full auto. smile.gif

perhaps it's just a quiet 12 hour shift where nothing INTERESTING* happens ? smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Good thing, the Panther is SS (though, modding it to FA is certainly doable). smile.gif

Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times!

You saw that other thread, I take it smile.gif

I'm conflicted - on one hand, FA assault cannon would rock! On the other hand, FA assault cannon would suck!

On the gripping hand, I suspect this is something we won't deal with one way or t'other.
Mach_Ten
yeah I saw the PAC FA thread and was "amused" especially by trying to throw real world mechanics into a Game scenario, but:

EDIT --- snip --- taking this into that thread

don't wanna de-rail the fun train smile.gif
Dakka Fiend
Talking about guns, I made a chart about who can swap ammo and magazines with whom. Thought our characters would know that after training together.

click me, I'm a link

Illustrates why RL armies kinda like to standardize. wink.gif
Thanee
Funny enough, by the game mechanics, I could use my Barrett Ammo in a Ranger Arms, too. I don't they would fit well... wink.gif

I think, in previous editions the Barrett had "custom ammo", but not anymore.

Of course. Besides endless discussions over X vs Y are what guard duty is there for.

And at least in my experience fights in SR rarely even reach the need-to-reload stage, let alone out-of-ammo-anybody-toss-me-a-mag.
