Dak, from prior inspection (whilst leaning against it taking a leak) could the inner gate withstand the impact of a speeding SUV ?

Once I clear the doors, I'll take an observe in detail action.
Observe in detail PERC 9 + 3 Enhanced vision + 2 TacNet overlay

The gate would likely stop the SUV, it is big and heavy, and designed to prevent things from just busting through it.

As far as cover from any mortar rounds, there's not a whole lot of cover around, aside from the guard house and tower. Though the vehicles and such out in the lot would provide some cover, depending on positioning and proximity.

The guard house is armored. It's not a bunker, mind you, but it should at least keep out some small arms fire.

No word in the last few seconds from the team on the gate. Not since they gave the all-clear.

and I missed that bit, if the front gate gave the all clear for the truck and SUV, we don't need to be hyper paranoid just yet .. just mostly paranoid !!
there's always a chance they have been bought or blackmailed or otherwise bypassed.

the rifle is ready and armed but not levelled at the SUV.. yet .... give them some form of verbal and gesticular warning to pull up.

I'll post IC, but for now orders are "stand ready, use initiative and as long as you have good reason, shoot first ... then let me know why after "

if the SUV does not show signs of braking soon, then I'm afraid I'll be getting my shots off asap. biggrin.gif

Brian's heading for the car between the guard house and the three trucks, the right (east?) side of it.

Running like a madman for there: strength 5 + running 3 gives 4 hits

Once there, having a good look at the SUV: Intuition 4 + Perception 4 + TacNet 2, using low light gives just 2 hits

Edit: 4 * 2 + 25 gives 33 meters, should about suffice, but given we're not in combat yet, it probably doesn't matter much.

The front windshield is not tinted, but its night, and the other windows are tinted. Khote can probably make out the dashboard and a hand on the steering wheel, but that's about it.

No, the guys getting out of the truck do not seem to be threatening the guards.

Thanee asked earlier about loudspeakers and such - yeah, there's a microphone and speakers. Its simple enough even to send audio through the speakers via AR/VR.

Guess i will hold until i see some violence either at the front gate, from the SUV, or from a spirit materializing next to our fearless leader.

I think it's a perception roll, with the visibility modifiers for ultrasound used, and the ability to see through rating x 5 points of Barrier structure. The drone's UWB is rating 4, so that should def. be able to see inside the SUV. Want to roll or me to roll? It's got 5 dice for perception.

Actually, it looks like we need to discuss this with Dak. Apparently the Initiative bonus is an optional rule and not standard.

significant Initiative bonus as a result, rather than reacting to the
situation on a play-by-play basis (which would normally award the
tacnet dice pool bonus). So a character who might normally have a
+3 tacnet dice pool bonus to look forward to can instead take a +3
dice pool bonus on his Initiative Test that Combat Turn.

option 2 you either take a dice pool benefit or an initiative benefit, not both.

I'm happy for the latter and drop my initiative by the last 2 dice I rolled, I need the Dice pool to other stuff, going faster is not that important as seeing what is going on.

Well, trodes can be DNI enabled and that is how Khote connects to his commlink. But I know Dak had mentioned generally wanting to keep to the straight rules. So I will leave it up to his decision on if we use any optional rules at all.
