@Seth its all good interesting reading how crazy someone can be in the future lol. crazy usually gets things done.
Redjack
And Val realizes another knowledge skill.
Saytr
i just read the wall posts between RJ and Seth,@seth i was in teh Uk for three and half years how come we never played SR!!!! i looked all the time and never found anyone north of london that played lol. @RJ this is going to be interesting seeing who is enemy is and hopefully it doesnt turn out to be me lol.
Seth
I take it that you moved, Satyr. I'm near Leeds in the UK. Finding other players is a real challenge. The game shops are a good way to find people though, and the Universities often have clubs that are open to the public.

I'm hoping you're not the bad guy as well! Still the Hatter seems to think you are OK, and he is a good judge of character (in Umbra's somewhat odd opinion).

@Redjack
Do I recognise either the kids or their insignia? Intuition+Criminal(Seattle gangs) 3 successes
Redjack
Val - Infiltration(3) + Agility(cool.gif [5,6,3,6,5,4,4,4,1,5,4] = 5 hits

Edit: Even with penalties for daylight, situational awareness, etc.. The net successes will be 4.
Seth
Well Val is more stealthy thank I am ! 3 successes.
I'll be Keeping an eye out for more gang members (taking a simple action)
Redjack
Oh hell... I forgot that infiltration was Umbra's other niche...
Redjack
Val - Agility( 8 ) + Unarmed(-1) + Charging(2) [4,4,6,2,3,1,6,5,2] = 3 hits
Surprise, no defense
DV 5/2 + 3 = DV6
Ganger resists: Body(3) + Impact(2): [3,6,2,6,4] = 2hits
Damage taken: 4P + Knock down

Initiative:
18(3) - Umbra: [4,5,3,5,1,6,4,6,2,6,2,6] = 6 hits
14(3) - Val: [3,5,2,6,5,2,3,1,5,4] = 4 hits
10(1) - Ganger #2: [5,5,1,4,6,5] = 4hits
09(1) - Ganger #1: [5,5,1,4,6,5] = 4hits

Umbra is up.
Seth
QUOTE
other niche...

You mean I have a niche other than infiltration? Mind you Val seems to be pretty good at it too. An all stealthy group is quite fun, and very different to the usual game experience

Willpower + charisma: 3 successes. Aha I will shoot him and then dive for cover
I'll taser the other ganger: 5 successes. I haven't accounted for visibility or range, but I have thermal and lowlight, and this is a light pistol for range purposes.
If he doesn't drop, or go into spasms. I'll shoot him again. A much less impressive 3 successes

Next IP I'll dive for cover.

Redjack
Daytime. No range or vision penalties, so all hits stand.

Ganger Reaction: [6,6,6] = 3 hits
Resist Stun: [1,1,6,5] = 2 hits + Glitch
Resist Electric: Body(3) + Willpower(3) + 1/2-Impact(1)= [6,3,2,6,3,3]+[3] = 2 hits; Incapacitated.

Redjack
Val - REA(6) [3,5,2,2,4,3] = 1 hit
Seth
Side note: Have you ever tried to stop a bike falling. Its really really hard. A friend of mine had a 700cc, and it started to go...very messy...he pulled his back, and there was a lot of damage to the bike. Ever since then I have been really careful around bikes.

@Satyr
Nice start to our working relationship!

Its a good thing I don't regard riding pillion as a threat to my manhood! Mind you I usually use Shank's Pony to get around
Redjack
Yea, I had a Harley Davidson XLS-1000. I know only too well. I figure that a strength of 5 and an agility of 8 should be reasonable in the attempt. Someone with a strength of 3? He'd probably rip his cybernetic arm off. nyahnyah.gif
Saytr
@Seth well at least we got to beat up some gangers who probably wont tell on us lol.

I saw a friend wipe out on a bike and i am glad i never have been under one as it fell, i am looking at maybe gettign a cruiser here shortly if all goes well though. Would be nice to have a nice ride for summers here in tx.
Redjack
Just a warning. This post rate cannot continue. At some point it will drop back to a weekly game, though I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
Seth
@Redjack
I expected a weekly post rate. I was quite pleasantly surprised at the rate. Whatever rate we post at is fine.

Redjack
Well, I'll keep up what I can.

-rp
Saytr
I love the post rate lol. Been a while since Val has had any movement glad to see someone who can keep up with us plus we needed to catch up for lost time.
Seth
@Satyr
I think Val is mostly in charge. I am tasked by the Mad Hatter to help you find the Holy Grail.
Saytr
Holy Grail! is this a monty pythons game lol. This better not be a a ghostwalker or hestaby artifact nyahnyah.gif that would hurt.

seriously though Val has no leadership abilities and so he doesnt exactly know how to direct your crazy garilla armed friend whom i love the character concept by the way.
Seth
Thanks. In the brief Redjack was saying he wanted "broken" characters with a reason they are in the Barrens. Umbra certainly comes into that category!

Don't worry about leadership: just pick a goal, and we'll try and do it.

At the moment all I know is that some Russians tried to shoot you with this gun, at a place. I suggest we either go to the place and look for clues (think ScoobyDdoo) or take the gun to someone with a DNA database. Umbra could help you with the first, but I suspect you will get more joy with the second.

A third option that is always scary is to to set up a counter ambush. You could make it be known that you will be at a certain place at a certain time, then set up a counter ambush at that place. The goal would be be capture and ask questions of whoever turned up, although if its just a single individual that is hunting you, just defeating them would work.

Saytr
that is the joy of amnesia lol Val has had a few flash backs with several different people in them. One such flash back was of him murdering someone so the one person after him concept has got to be out the window for sure. Personally i thinkn RJ is just playing with me until he thinks of something really devious or maniacal.
Redjack
Ok guys. Where to next?
Seth
@Redjack
I'm not troubling the GM with rolling a smell...its days old and been raining.

Can I assume Sgt Nelson is a desk sergeant at a precinct? Umbra doesn't have a commlink, so I will have to go and find him. If he's not there I could head for him at his home, or perhaps one of his regular haunts. You let me know what I think is the most likely place and we will head there
Redjack

As a sergeant, he would generally be at the desk but it is his prerogative to take out a patrol car as well.
Redjack
Umbra can definitely smell that Val has been in the room before. Make a perception test for smell. I will look up a penalty for time and assess that from the right end of the dice.
Seth
Read them and weep. 9 successes (I don't think I have ever rolled that well before!
Redjack
For crying out loud... Even serious penalties against a roll of [2,2,2,5,6,4,6,1,2,4,6,3,2,4,6,5,5,1,6,5] would still keep 4+ successes. Ok, blood hound, give me a memory test: Log(1) + Wil(3) Ugghh.. I think I know where your Karma should be going. wink.gif
Seth
Given a hint like that...there goes 1 edge.

Luck is with me: 4 success
Redjack
Didn't mean it as a hint, but you did confirmation to several pieces to the puzzle. biggrin.gif
Seth
Sorry to be dense:

Arkansas...hes a dwarven shaman magician that I know and can recommend to Val? or his smell was in the room?
Redjack
You know and can recommend. He is one of your contacts. His smell is not in the room.
Seth
TY I was being dense
Redjack
Leaving for Gen Con tomorrow. May be a week before you hear from me.
Saytr
awesome have a blast RJ.
Redjack
Ok. I just need a post about how you two will get to Ugly Bob's. Its about 15min by motorcycle from where you are, so you have a little time to kill as well..
Seth
@Satyr
Can you post the IC suggestion that you give Umbra a lift on the motorbike. Umbra normally walks (or sneaks) to places, and it wouldn't occur to him to ask for a lift
Saytr
FYI i will just moved into new apartment will be without internet for a little while until hooked up.
Seth
Hope it all goes well.

@Redjack
Up to you how this proceeds. Why don't I go and see the good Sergeant? or we could put this on pause until Satyr returns. Whichever is better for you
Saytr
i am back in business sorry to hold up the game.
Seth
Welcome back!
Saytr
thanks yeah i gotta have my Dumpshock.
Redjack
The duo are currently left of POI #150 on my Redmond Map. There are dirt roads out to the Plastic Jungle that the trash trucks use.
Seth
Nice maps. Is it OK if I use them elsewhere?

What do I know about Plastic Jungle? 3 successes on intuition + Regional(Seattle)
Redjack
All - I can F/F if you all are ready? To the Jungles then?

Sure. Two notes on the Redmond map.
1) The text and map in 2072 disagree about the crash site. I corrected the map location to match the text.
2) The location of the Verge did not make sense to me. Based upon topography, I moved it to a location that seemed to make more sense.

QUOTE (Seattle 2072 @ pg 117)
The Plastic Jungles are quite a sight, even by Seattle standards. Acres of dirty grayish and tattered canopies of bioplastic stretched high overhead from support struts create a near-tropical world underneath, warm and filled with greenery, the rainwater and (to a degree) the air filtered by the bioplastic netting and the plant-life. There are small trees and bushes, creeping and climbing vines, and exotic flowers in every color of the rainbow, filling the air with a heady scent. Under the foliage are tents and shelters built out of discarded bioplastic sheeting, scrap wood and plastic, thatching and materials harvested from the jungles. It is a strange indoor-outdoor rainforest on the outskirts of one of the largest cities in the world.
--
The abandoned agri-domes have become home for much of Redmond’s metahuman population, the various plants and flowers allowed to grow wild.
The metahuman squatters in the Plastic Jungles are understand-ably mistrustful of outsiders, especially humans. They are organized into neo-primitive tribes, living off the land. Ironically, decades of land-reclamation here have worked and managed to clean up the area enough to grow food again. This makes the Jungles targets for Barrens gangs and scavengers looking to steal harvests and food supplies.

Satyr?
Saytr
Yeah sorry, iam good.
Redjack
I love throwing in those, "What the hell am I doing?" little descriptions.
Seth
Hey I loved that description of me. I laughed. My wife laughed. Fun game

I don't really know how to post IC at the moment. If you want I can do "go left, go right kind of instructions". Or I could kick off "aha he's here" type of noises. Naval gazing posts are good too if you'd like one of those.
Saytr
Yeah im in training the next four weeks, got a job with att recently and wow a lot to absorb. I will post ic wed or thurs smile.gif
