17: Hardwire
- Simple: Analyze the new guest, most interesting are running programs and Rating

(And probably make the run for it once I see the list...)

Computer(4) + Analyze(5) + Hot Sim(2) + Technomancer(2) + Wounds(-2) [6,4,6,5,2,4,3,2,1,5,5] = 5 hits
- Running Programs: Attack, Analyze, Encrypt, Black Hammer, Armor
- Response = 6

- System = 6

Hardwire has a simple and a free action left.
Sengir
Obviously time to leg it..

Simple Action to log off, then move back to the team node (which should also inform me that the team made it, right?)
Sengir
How much info does the TeamNet give, btw? Just glowing dots on a map, or also something like helmet cams?

EDIT:

<<@Team[Hardwire] I might be able to see to that, let me check if I can access the node on your van...>>

Well, can he? If yes, compile a Machine Sprite (R. 3, Maneuver Autosoft; with Resonance 5 + Compiling 5 + VR 2 - Wounds 2) for the van and send him on the remote task "pilot the van".
Redjack
Hacking: Hand wave = Done.

mimicing the motions needed so the movements are complimentary to the manner in which the van is driving.

Why am I just thinking of the Simpsons intro? biggrin.gif
Redjack
I'm kinda feeling a Sons of Anarchy vibe with this scene...
Sengir
OK, drones are making towards the van's position at top speed (36 km/h)...if nothing happens till they arrive I'll try to listen in on the cops' signals (both drones mount Signal Scanner R. 6).

Might want to rethink that. Van is moving away from Hardwire's doss (see MAP)
Saytr
Drones would have to go across lake Washington if I see that right 22 minute drive.
Sengir
Huh? I thought everything so far happened east of the lake and you were heading towards Redmond (ie further east)?
Anyway, on a second look RJ is right...the drones would be chasing after the gang and not meet them at a right angle. Just ignore that, the drones can check the weather wink.gif

Couple of questions
- Only Umbra and Arkansas and some duffel bags with loot remain in the van, right?
- From HW's life experience, would LS enter the Barrens because some joyriding bikers damaged a patrol car? I'm asking because GMs tend to have different views of law enforcement in the Barrens...
Saytr
Either that or I drive by and sling some creds his way to ignore the van. Every cop ain't a good one wink.gif

Saytr
Yeah no face lol sorry I totally forgot hardware hasnt met in the meat.

Redmond is a little more complex than that. Take a look at my Map with Security Ratings. Tourisitville is in the Redmond District without being in the Barrens. The rest of the Barrens is (by Cannon) E, not Z. That said, they might chase the bikes... or they might not. Weeks ago a Knight Errant security cruiser entered the Barrens pursuing gangers following an attack on a building with a security contract... it was never seen again. Consider it somewhere around 50/50. Depends on currently policies and of course the disposition of the cops themselves.
Sengir
Psh, Touristville...every self-respecting native pretends it does not exist

EDIT: Sooo, what do I have to do for listening in on police radio?

Radio? What is this radio you speak of? This is 2072, everyone has comlinks and can establish private networks, channels if you will. You would either need to intercept the traffic or hack a node on the private network. Think like hacking into a TeamNet or a TacNet.
Saytr
FYI ke and the star would be extremely tough to hack I would assume.
Redjack
You guys have a plan or should the sprite just improvise?

Modern comm systems for police? What sorcery is this?!

Anyway, I'd assume they are hardcore about protecting their communication against active manipulation, but not about simple eavesdropping. HW does some data searching for further info on the how and where (whackers and police enthusiasts surely did not become extinct), while keeping an eye on the van.

Edit: I think we agree to shoot the tires and then move it...not really sophisticated but anything else would require time to prepare...
Saytr
Correct sir.

So Satyr, give me an IC post and some rolls.
Saytr
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3698874/ i miss calculated the dice using agility instead of reaction for pilot ground craft my bad taking taking the last three dice off gives me two hits on seven dp for the bike

agility for shooting out the tires

agility 8 plus firearms 3 = [6,6,6,1,5,2,6,4,6,5,1] = (7)
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3698879/

shooting for tires if that doesnt work aiming for engine block.
Redjack
Val
Driving Test: Reaction(6) + Pilot Ground(1) [1,5,2,4,6,3,1,6,6] = 1 hit
Shooting Test: Agility(cool.gif + Firearms(3) + Target Tires(-4)[6,6,6,1,5,2,6,4,6,5,1] = 5 hits; +4 DV Called Shot
( I had missed the IC post a moment ago and though Val was driving, which would have also had: + Attacker in Moving Vehicle(-2) + Distraction [also driving](-2) )

Lone Star Officer
Reaction Test: [4,3,2,3] = 0 hits
DMG= DV5 + 2 (burst) + 3 (net hits) + 4 (called shot: Adds DMG, does not negate armor) = DV16
Patrol Car: Body:10; Armor: 10; Pertinent Upgrades: Run-flat tires [1,3,1,3,5,3,4,5,4,4,5,3,2,1,5,3,2,2,2,5] = 5 hits; 11P Taken (of 13 boxes)
Driving Test: Reaction(4) + Pilot Ground(1) + Spec[Police Cruiser](+2) + Vehicle Damage(-3) [6,6,2,5] = 3 hits

Val yells as he gets the bike moving yet again in a attempt to get clear from the stars 2k pound weapon.
Lets call it an opposed driving test.

Officer: Driving Test: Reaction(4) + Pilot Ground(1) + Spec[Police Cruiser](+2) + Vehicle Damage(-3) [4,4,2,3] = 0 hits
Val: Reaction(6) + Pilot Ground(1) [6,5,6,2,1,5,5] = 5 hits
Officer: Agility(4) + Pistols(2) + Spec[Heavy Pistols](2) + Aiming(1) + Attacker in Moving Vehicle(-2) + Distraction [also driving](-2) [6,1,3,2,4] = 1 hit
Val: Reaction(6) + Distraction[driving](-2) [4,5,5,4] = 2 hits
Sengir
OK, I'm assuming the rest of the team is moving themselves and the loot on the bikes?
Saytr
Two street bikes four people and a couple of stuffed duffle bags of loot lol I will suggest myself and one other drop the goods on our bikes while the rest wait after we drop the van we will split up.

3 street bikes, 5 people and several duffel bags of medical supplies.

Well, you/val proposed to ditch the van so I assumed the loot would fit on three backs ;)
Saytr
Yeah sorry about that I forgot how many bikes we really had. Well we need to ditch the van for sure now. Just need to figure out how to get the loot to the doc.
Sengir
Hmm, how obvious/unique is the van?

The delivery services logo on the side makes it reasonably obvious, especially if the stolen vehicle report has been filed.

I see why val is so eager to get rid of it...

1.) How many bags are there roughly? (I'm also assuming we are talking about bags the size of the standard army bag, rather than something for your trainers and water bottle)
2.) I need an inconspicuous back alley with an inconspicuous dumpster...preferably one that is not totally seeping with filth. Anything like that visible from the van?
Sengir
QUOTE (Sengir @ Oct 1 2012, 07:45 PM) *
<@val[Hardwire]"Would take too long, sry">

Just to follow up on that, at the very least I'd have to sabotage the car node and the officer's commlink, plus potentially another private commlink, Panicbutton bracelet...

I the same idea initially (great minds... wink.gif), but McCopper would probably smell rat long before before all his comm channels are taken out

Four army surplus duffel bags. They are each about 1/2 full. All in all, the haul was pretty good.

Actually, Sammamish River Trail Road is a tactical nightmare. It winds northerly along the east bank of the Sammamish River, which itself is a toxic, polluted nightmare. Additionally, looking at a map the van is headed straight towards the Redmond District Court House & Redmond District Hall (see #300 & #310 Redmond Map). Honestly, I couldn't have even planned a trap as well as the team is about to stumble into...

I maybe should have looked at the map...

So, we are somewhere around 47.674702, -122.132340, Val is just joining us and thankfully no longer followed by a police cruiser. To the left is a lovely little river that doubles as public (and industrial) sanitation, up ahead is the city hall with enough police presence to look like it was something important, and behind us a slightly pissed officer. How does our right flank look like?
Saytr
No!!!!! immediate route change lol

Like the only possible option that doesn't equal either toxic sludge or cops.

Yeah, you subtly hinted at that...but I'm interested in how the place looks like, with special regard to places were the guys could stash the loot they can't carry.
Redjack
Pilot tests
Sprite: [2,6,4,1,1,4] = 1 hit
Val: [1,5,2,5,5,6,5] = 5 hits
Toad: [1,3,6,6,4,2] = 2 hits
Slick: [2,6,1,5,2,3] = 2 hits

At this point the team is heading north from near #190 towards #150 (Map). The Barrens are rating E. Police may... or may not pursue. There is a cruiser and traffic drone in sight as the van approaches the intersection, until it passes through. At this point, the team has not yet had a chance to dump the van.
Sengir
QUOTE
they have condensed the load down from five to three of the duffel bags

*facepalm*
That solution obviously was too easy to occur to me...

Anyway, now that the van is empty the Sprite can take it for a little city tour, if possible back to the address where it is registered...but no reckless driving, please (I'll keep the van slaved to my bionode until it is stopped or reaches its destination, at that point the Sprite can go home and I'll scrub my matrix signatures from the node before leaving).
Saytr
Or the sprite can use the van as a moving wrecking ball.
Sengir
I hope they swallow the bait and follow the easiest target ;)

Although "no reckless driving" was a somewhat poor verbalisation of what I had in mind...forcing a patrol car off the road or speeding away is totally fine, but not something like provoking a head-on crash on a crowded road or endangering bystanders.

PS: And talking about sprites, IC I officially have no idea what a "sprite" is and will keep it that wait until establishing that you don't want to sell me to MCT...
Redjack
Piloting Test
- Sprite [5,5,2,6,2,4] = 3 hits
- Toad/Arkansas [6,5,3,6,5,2] = 4 hits
- Slick/Umbra [3,2,3,1,4,2] = 0 hits
- Val [1,2,5,2,5,5,1] = 3 hits

Test for Sprite to understand the intent of Hardwire's commands. [5,2,5,1,6,6] = 4 hits

Test for Slick to loose the rotodrone. [6,1,1,3,4,4] = 1 hit
Pursuit test for the drone. [6,4,6,6,6,3] = 4 hits

Saytr
Glad they decided the van was a more lucrative target. Sorry to hear slick and umbra having issues losing the heat.
