In order to not bog down forward momentum, go ahead and post the sprite's orders

I already told to sprite to "Find everything you can on these men <<Screenshots>> and report back to me" at the IC post, or do you want more specifics?

Read it too fast and missed that. The sprite is diligently working on that.
Sengir
Maybe we should agree on another color for Matrix stuff, black on grey is somewhat suboptimal...

-------------

I'd say Hardwire looks for electronic recordings and possible data stashes, Val frisks the place for physical evidence

Use Violet
<<@Sprite [Hardwire] Find everything you can on these men <<Screenshots>> and report back to me.>>

See IC post.
Redjack
Satyr - Feel free to make posts to distinguish the emotions of old Val to new Val. Ah, the amnesia flaw. You may find the old Val is very different from the new Val and may have done things that the new Val neither likes, nor agrees with. It is also up to you whether or not you reveal any details to Hardwire of these memories.

Next steps?
Sengir
Unless the chip from the projector (I guess that is what you meant with the curled millipede?) contains anything new, it looks like time for some old-fashioned legwork.

And if you can integrate it into the story, I'd like to have some time for registering a sprite before the big climax

The projector is not wireless, nor does it have its one memory. It does has a port that the millipede is connected to.
Sengir
I was just a bit unsure whether you meant a chip and not something more exeotic, because chips usually don't curl wink.gif
Redjack
Where to gents? I can fast forward as you like.
Sengir
QUOTE
The millipede is a '69 MCT Millipede (equatable to a Shiawase Kanmushi. It has ten legs, instead of 4 and is a little longer than the Kanmushi.)

Doh!

OK, plan: Val approaches the niece as Sergej Sergejevich (might want to think of a better name wink.gif) who is in town to visit his old buddy Iosif and got told by a friend that Anna would know where to meet him.
Saytr
Sounds good maybe check out the locker at the gym also any information that might still e stored ovals comm
Sengir
Well, the commlink we can do right away...only problem is that Invisible Castle gives me a 503
- Have a look at the 'link itself: Analyze? Hardware? I'll leave that roll to our trusty GM wink.gif
- Thread Analyze, buy 2 hits with 9 dice
- Resist 2 P Fading, buy 2 hits with 10 dice
- Have a seat and take a thorough look inside the commlink: Computer 4 + Analyze 7 + VR 2 + Technomancer bonus 2 -> 3 hits

Once we have that, fast forward to a meeting with the girl? I'd give you the dragonfly drone as relay and find myself a place to go into VR uninterrupted (if the meet is in a restaurant, the bathroom).

Brain cramp. Which comlink?

Brain cramp. Which comlink?

Val wanted to know if there is something in his 'link he did not see before, especially his suggestion to "Double check to make sure there aren't any tracers or bugs inside" sounded like a decent idea.
Redjack
Ok. Comlink checked and browse for Anna completed. Given that she is potentially not directly accessible, I figured you'd want a chance to provide details on when/where to approach her.
Sengir
Hmm, how old is she exactly? Old enough that the "uncle Iosif's old buddy meets her at a cafe" plan is still feasible?
Redjack

Me-Feed says 16.

Also, welcome O'Conner and his character Charles Penny. I'll let your characters discover each other in play. The intro may be a little weak, but better moments may not come for a while so everybody work with it a little bit. wink.gif I gave him another clue to expedite his acceptance to the duo.
O'Connor
'eyo folks smile.gif

I thought about having Charlie follow them around, but with my luck they'd hop into a car and zoom off, and then where would we be? Direct approach is sometimes best.

Though he might get cold feet if he see's whats in that house, just saying smile.gif.
Saytr
Good approach just don't take the response the wrong way lol

Sure sure. Fill the new guy with holes why don'tcha? Redjack, do I need to make a perception roll to see if Charlie figures out what Val's doing, or can I just assume my character didn't just fall off the turnip truck and recognizes someone blading off when he see's em?
Saytr
The two just came from a shoot out and a meeting about thier friend being killed, val doesn't know who you if anyone you work for or why you are wanting thier attention lol. smile.gif
Redjack
Palming check for Val.
Perception check for Charlie.
O'Connor
Intuition 4+Perception 3= 7 dice pool

Opposed perception check against Val's palming (1d6=4, 1d6=1, 1d6=5, 1d6=3, 1d6=1, 1d6=5, 1d6=6)

3 successes.
Saytr
11d6.hits(5) → [3,4,6,4,1,4,1,2,1,6,1] = (2)
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4025183/
O'Connor
Well we both rolled about bone average so as expected, you beat me. smile.gif

EDIT: Wait a tick, Hits are 5+ not 4+, unless Val has a quality I've never heard of... that would be 2 Hits, giving me 1 net hit.

I'll wait for the GM ruling smile.gif

Nah, that's what happened to the last new guy wink.gif

Welcome aboard!

PS: For future IC stuff, what metatype do you bring into the mix?
O'Connor
Human. Rather blandly so to. Sandy hair, average height, describe him, you describe half the regular humans on the street kinda guy.

Saytr
you meN the face who was shot in the face. that new guy lol jk its all good. will be nice to have val meet some new faces and get his past backk and create a new future for him.

Charles' perception is only 2, so Charles only has 2 hits.

Post away!

That would make us tied, and I did make a mistake on my reference, and on reading Satyr's format, since I overlooked the (2) to show his number of hits. The (5) is shorthand for his target number. So we tied 2-2. Since I'm not familar enough with the way redjack prefers to handle opposed test ties, anyone want to fill me in? Tie goes to the defender? Which one of us is the defender?

(sorry if I'm making this difficult)
Saytr
It's all good nothing difficult about first impressions lol, usually the test has to beat the threshold of the opposed test to over come it. With perception tests I believe u would not see me reaching for it in this case. But please correct me if I'm wrong RJ

In a perception test, there are several ways to rule it:
1) Perception test must meet the threshold (if unopposed) or beat the threshold (if opposed). The base threshold here (in this opposed test) would be Val's 2 hits. You would need 3 hits to see it.
2) Another potential way to rule it would be consider all perception tests unopposed and stealth hits as a modifier to the table on sr4|p136. In this case, the base would be 2-3 + Val's 2 hits yielding a threshold of 4-5.

In either case, Val is, at least marginally, successful here.
Saytr
Woot !!!! Lol

Alrighty then.... *goes off to post*

Sooo... Since Charlie mentioned he *read* the paper, whats *on* it? biggrin.gif. Old Val is about to find out.

Posted. Details that Charlie knows that the others do not know: He took the paper from the manager's desk of the Weeping Dog, a neighborhood bar on 62nd Ave E, near 20th St E (also in Tacoma). It was the only paper in a folder marked with the name Марк. He was instructed to take locate the folder and get the contents and not to disturb anything else, nor be seen coming or going. He recognized the folder with the name on it on from a still photo extracted from poor quality surveillance video provided to him by the owl.

check this guy if you can. See if he is connected to Kirill or anyone.

I admit that I always found the "here's a photo, do a data search" thing boring. Once he gives us a name, I'll contact Tyr if he knows anything about him wink.gif
O'Connor
Paging Mr Satyr smile.gif
Redjack
Fast forward to a spot for the team to talk... or pursue the girl... or the gym locker... or one of the other leads?
Saytr
Lets hit the gym locker first than talk tot he girl. Might be more information in the locker.

OK, but first talk with Charlie. Telling him "wait here, we got other stuff to do" would be a bit weird wink.gif
Saytr
Oh lol right well i was going to post in once we talked about where you got your information for the paper and what not. Than u was going to offer charlie a little payment to help us, if that ok with rj before we go to the gym cause i thnk charlie would be perfect to go in and check out the locker. Val doesnt want anyone there to now he is alive just yet.
Sengir
Then let us use a cafe (or something like that) close to the gym for the talking and prceed from there

Energize plot teleporter?
O'Connor
If someone wants to introduce Val and Hard, I think I have a lead for the cafe to move us ahead.
O'Connor
And posted. Redjack can narrow down our location since he seems good at that wink.gif

Sorry for the wait - was a long week and then Mothers day this weekend had be pretty busy.
Sengir
Maybe include the word "owl" in your story, that detail would already tell Hardwire a lot wink.gif
Redjack
For continuity, I made a slight edit: Charlie has been a few days working this job, staking out the place, etc... and traveling without conveyance.

Paging sir Redjack to answer the man's question smile.gif ^
