O'Connor
Yes, I believe he's trying to do a background check on Charlie.
Sengir
Yep, Charlie is the guy

@O'Connor: I presume Charlie doesn't speak Or'zet?

PS: I think telling the story so far is Satyr's job, the stage is yours wink.gif
O'Connor
That would be a fair bet, a'yup. No Orcish in his background smile.gif
Sengir
First we want his help with the gym locker wink.gif

But since Val opened that can of worms, Composure test to avoid confronting Val about murdering people:
WIL (4) + CHA (3) = 7d6.hits(5) → [4,2,5,2,2,2,6] = (2)

Hmmm, I'd say not entirely quiet but also not too confrontative. Something like "Before we entertain any revenge fantasies, let's first talk about the gym"?

OK, I was awaiting RJ's judgment on this but the story already carried on, so let it simply be known that Hardwire is unhappy with the idea of killing that guy straight away wink.gif
Redjack
Sorry for the absence. Was out of town working. Long days and when I finally made it to the motel, may motivation to be on a computer was zero. I'm gonna post a little story telling and get us through the next scene.
Sengir
No worries, seems the rest of us got along wink.gif
Saytr
I posted up about hardwires feelings I assume his demeanor would project his feelings at the mention of murder smile.gif no worries val is a reasonable Russian if one were to exist. He's willing to just beat the rap out of him before getting him arrested lol. Posted about maybe renting a car, no need in stealing one if we don't need to. No in needed attention.
Sengir
QUOTE
I would rather not go around using my sorry for changing it up last minute like that, a troll that helped me out called rabbit and it kind of stuck

I'm sorry, but what?
Saytr
Sorry I fixed it lol
Redjack
Damn, took me three times typing that not to get it 12 to 3/4 typed and then lost in a restart over the last few days.
In any case, there is now a wrinkle or two to overcome. If your plan is reasonable we can move fast.
Sengir
If you don't mind I would take a detour to pick up my duffel bag (Kingsgate should be on the way unless my sense of geography strikes again), minus the incendiaries and Cē cleaner

New gear list:
Dragonfly drone
Revolver (reloaded)
Commlink
Ballistic Vest (did not remember to check how secure Snohomish is before you posted, so HW keeps it and slips out of it on the next occasion)
Duffel bag with
-Closest thing to sports clothes he has on top
-Tool Kit (Electronics)
-Autopicker Rating 6
-Chisel
-C-Squared Rating 6
-GloWand
-Miniwelder
-Plastic Restraints x20
-Standard Rope (100 m)
-Duct Tape
-Gloves

PS: Searching bags at gym would be highly unusual, right?

Post updated.
O'Connor
Might as well mention what Charlie's carrying, since its definately less then he'd normally go into a job with.

Street clothes (Jeans, clean tshirt, decent boots)
Leather Jacket (bomber style though cut a little long)
M1991 Colt and one mag. The colt is tucked behind his belt at the small of his back under the coat.
2 throwing knives on his person, one shock glove tucked in his pocket
Lockpick set
Renraku Sensei Comlink loaded with his James Ray SIN and paired to his contacts with image link
O'Connor
OK... I think I got the jist of what Val is.

Did he say we should dump our guns though? I think that's what you meant Satyr.
Saytr
Stash them in a storage locker or safe place near by. smile.gif
Redjack
Hardwire:
- Area Knowledge: Seattle(4) + Intuition(5) [4,5,1,4,1,6,6,4,4] = 3 hits
You are able to remember some Detail knowledge about the district.
[ Spoiler ]

Charlie:
- Law Enforcement Procedures(3) + Intuition(4) [6,2,6,6,4,3,5] = 4 hits
[ Spoiler ]

Please state your comlink modes. I have SIN's for Hardwire and Charlie. Val?
Saytr
Active sorry.
Redjack
Since Valery Strobokov is your only current SIN, it is the one that is loaded.
Sengir
Given the fancy location, active broadcast is probably the best idea, the commlink holds little more than the SIN anyway.
Do my clothes look reasonable for the location or should we pay Rapid Rob a visit before?

Current plan as far as I see it:
- We dump the guns and armor in the trunk of Val/Rabbit's buddy
- I take a quick tour inside the node to install a backdoor
- Charlie and I turn up at the gym and ask for a trial membership,
-- We go to the lockers, I loop the camera footage, we open the mystery locker
- Stroll out, get into the car, exit stage left
Sounds easy...
O'Connor
And the knives... and my shock glove (sad)

Charlie will be flipping active since there's nothing on the SIN of note I'm gonna guess that his clothes are OK if a little shabby for the neighborhood.

Val wanted to look for a ride: http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?show...t&p=1229003

@Connor: I'd take my chances at smuggling the knife, or do we want to make a first approach just with the key and no questionable gear?
O'Connor
There's a key? good to know.

Charlie really doesn't like cops and when I get home I'll have an IC post about it, he'd rather go in 'naked' than risk a 'discussion' with the local security corp.

Basically I was going to just keep the lockpicks on him and run with that.

As long as there's somewhere to stash the gear he has on.

Umm.. Oh yea... Lucky wasn't available... His matrix connection is spotty at best. He is available now.

Well, the key might not work or trigger something...but ok, we'll take that risk instead of the other risks wink.gif

Then provided Lucky shows up, I'll go with just the electronics kit (yessir, I just had to teach some dump intern how to rewire a flux capacitor) and the Cē (oh, I always disinfect the machines before I excercise)...and the sports clothes, of course.
O'Connor
Sounds like we have to go *to* Lucky's.... where *is* Lucky's?
Sengir
No idea, but I think the delivery can be handwaved by GridGuide...
Sengir
OK, can we agree to handwave that trip to Lucky's? Because IMO we are slightly overplanning this wink.gif
Saytr
Lucky pawn is a dwarf who helped val. He can hold our stuff and maybe have clothes that wont stand out too much for where we are going.
O'Connor
I was just going to say we give our shit to Val, Hardwire and I walk in.

Saytr
Yeah but if a patrol rolls by and val has a small cache on hm he is a gonner lol
Redjack
Finalize a plan and I'll post it through.
Sengir

That's why I said we should just assume the car is here (by GridGuide or courier or whatever), dump the stuff in the trunk, then I do a few hacking rolls and we go in. Objections?
Saytr
That sounds alright to me.
O'Connor
Works. Lets do it.

Not to be a stickler, but Lucky still doesn't know what kind of car and there is no Grid Guide in the Barrens, assuming the car you want is outside of the Barrens, that will not be an issue though...
Saytr
Preferrably a sedan maybe a van.

I still have no idea were Lucky's is located, but I'm sure he can give some up-and-coming talent 20 bucks to drive the car up to the point where it gets a connection wink.gif

While Val...I mean Rabbit is organising the car I'll take a look at the gym's node (at their public Access ID), what rating am I looking at?

That requires a matrix perception from inside the firewall.

Back from Metalfest DE and looking mostly human again. Change that last question to "what FW rating", that should be visible from outside (and 11 dice should be enough to buy a hit) ;)

I suggest you guys get in the front, I'll see if I can prepare a little camera blackout while we are on the way....and I want to make sure there are no tracers attached to a certain locker door..."[/color].
I need a little clearer plan from the team. Feel free to through out any supporting rolls you perceive and I'll add/adjust as needed.
O'Connor
I think what we want to do at this point is get access to the locker room. We have two ways of going about this. Way one is to simply go in the front door (maybe just Hardwire and Charlie) and see about getting a trial membership. If we get that - Hardwire does for the cameras while Charlie checks out the locker, and then we scram. If we fail at that we might have to get a little more creative:

Sabotage something like an AC unit or plumbing. Go back to Charlie's place and grab some of his gear - intercept the service call, and arrive instead of the intended service. Get into locker room, aquire things - leave indicating we need to go get some extra gear to finish the job... and we're out.

Sengir
Yep, I think we agreed on the trial member plan. If they won't let us in we can still don 1970s mustaches and do a "hello, we need to lay some pipe here" routine...

So, some 1337 h4x0ring, assume everything in VR:

Buy two Threading hits for Stealth 7 (with 11 dice)
Resist 2 P Fading: INT 5 + RES 5 = 10d6.hits(5) → [4,1,4,6,6,3,3,1,3,2] = (2)
-------------------
OTF hacking for a security account, I'm assuming an R 4 node running Analyze 4:
Hardwire: Hacking 5 + Exploit 5 + VR 2 + Paragon Bonus 2 = 14 dice; needs 7 (FW+3) hits to succeed Forgot the -2 for sustaining the Thread, cut off the last 2 dice on both rolls
Node: Firewall 4 + Analyze 4 = 8 dice; needs 7 hits to succeed

Round 1:
Hardwire: 4/7
Node: 4/7

Round 2:
Hardwire: 7/7
Node: 6/7

Phew, FAR tighter than I liked
-----------------------
Once inside, matrix perception test:
Computer 4 + Analyze 5 + TM bonus 2 + VR 2 - sustained CF 2 = 11d6.hits(5) → [4,4,3,2,2,2,2,4,4,1,6] = (1)

Meh. Other personae present in the node? If no, then turn off the Analyze and start looking for the cams

Seeing the other persona is free with the success. You can still ask one question from the chart on sr4a pg228.
Sengir
Since those are all good and law-abiding personas, can I get a list of what types of account are logged in?

QUOTE
Stepping through the front doors, is able to discern the access ID of one of the Gold's Gym internal nodes

The hack itself was in full VR from the back seat, but dropping into AR after that is fine
Redjack
Can I have an IC post with the appearance of Charlie and Hardwire? Thanks!

@All
Currently, I don't see an IC post for me yet.

I'd like to buy a single hit for both of those and see if they are running anything dangerous. Then look around for the cameras, but don't do anything yet

And I added a little about HW's looks to the last IC post...gotta admit I found it a bit hard to make the description fit into the IC wink.gif
