Got it. At first I thought about having Bob's car follow the van, but then I realized that might spook everybody to have the van tailed smile.gif

Mitch Long has become Bob's unicorn. I can't wait until Bob actually bumps into a unicorn!!

You mean like a unicorn unicorn? Cuz that'd be awesome smile.gif
Sengir
As long as it's not the kind of unicorn with a Lonestar officer riding on it...

Anyway, the nodes of the gym: It took us a little more than 120 seconds there, plus I wanted an infodump on members, especially that "Sponsors" group. Can I use my Black Hat contact to simply subcontract that work so we don't have to interrupt our teambuilding event? wink.gif
phlapjack77
Assensing duffel bag: Int(4) + Skill(3) = 1 hit
Redjack
Ok. Your GM has finally sat done and worked up Karma time.
Val/Hardwire: 10 karma + 8 CSP.
Bob: 14 karma + 10 CSP. (He just came out of a year long introductory game).

Did I miss some spends by Val? I only show that he has bought Pilot:Ground R1 since he started.

Sure. Do it in IC.

Might be a good idea to hold on to what he has now to see if maybe he can increase something later.

Probably should spend those CSPs...not like they accrue interest or anything smile.gif
Gangs: 2->3 (3CSP)
Shadow Community: 2->3 (3CSP)
Bars & Clubs: 2->3 (3CSP)
Vory: 0->1 (1CSP)

Did you have something in mind? smile.gif
Saytr
Actually yeah go ahead and give me rating 1 influence group 10 karma and increase my str from 3 to 4 which is 20 karma correct. and csp I have 30 but cannot increase anything more than 1 rank so give me a r1 Seattle area r1 gangs r1 shadowrun handouts r1. R1 shadowrunners too that's all I can think of for now.

Make lucky more of a friend too I suppose r3 L3 using 6 csp. And doc phin to l2 for 2 csp.

Leaving me 5 karma and 18 csp

Lucky, aka Stump (owner of Lucky's Pawn)? If so, he is connection rating 2

14 CSP, assuming Lucky is worked out.

Did you mean Stump? If so, you already have him at L2, so a bump to L3 is 3 CSP.
Saytr
yeah sorry yeah bumping him up to a L3 make him a drinking buddy and maybe a place to crash once i get my crap from the coffin motel lol. a work using thier internet lol so i am on break. woot got to love ATT

Oops sorry - ok scratch that, I'll just leave Bob with 1CSP remaining...
Redjack
Soon, enough of the back story will be assembled that Val will fully understand who he is... or at least was. Hard to believe that this game is over 4 years old.
Sengir
By my math I should be at 16 karma and 11 CSP...So many spending opportunities and so few Karma...
- Etiquette 0 -> 2: 4+4= 8 Karma
- Threading specialization for Software: 2 Karma

CSPs
Bump up Tyr to 2, or to 3 if you allow such a big jump

PS, I updated my last IC post to clarify what I want from Seeker. Figured that letting him blank one or two hours is less revealing than specifically one or two minutes.
Redjack
Going off the grid for 7 days. Check in, if I can.

I'd rather keep the bump on Tyr to one level for now. Any knowledge skills or appropriate new contacts you'd like?

@Satyr
What type of grenades are being loaded into the Alpha?

@Sengir
You need to make a Willpower + Charisma (3) test to resist trying to hack Interpol.

@All
Where next?

Black Hat demands a WIL 4 + CHA 3 test (7d6.hits(5)=2)

Sounds like interesting times ahead...

Where next?

Good question. Looong time ago (OOC) we had the plan to approach the niece of one of the thugs who killed Athena, trick her into telling us where to find her uncle ("I'm his old army buddy here for a suprise visit"), and use him to find Kirill. That would be a job for our resident Russian.
Alternatively, we have thecargo manifest, which gives us an address where Kirill's mail gets dropped. Scouting that would sound like a gig for Bob.
Other ideas? I'm sure there is something in RJ's clues that I'm missing...

I'm for this as well. The only clue that Bob has is that memory of seeing Yury at the restaurant that one time with Val. Might be worth it for Bob to stake out that area as well...
Sengir
To clear that up, none of us ever talked to Mr Yunter...well, Val might have but seemingly does not remember wink.gif

So, a bit of scouting at 6326 41st St E Tacoma, WA?
phlapjack77
Sounds good!

I'd say the usual "park one block away" applies, then Bob can go casing and I'll take the drone for an aerial view

What is this place: Area Knowledge[Seattle] (4) + Intuition(5) = 9d6.hits(5) → [4,4,2,5,2,6,4,2,3] = (2) (also, am I reading your map correctly and it's a D Zone?)

Oh, you asked for an alternate knowledge/contact...I'm happy with my knowledge skills, so how about Doc Phin?
Redjack
Just noticed I didn't move forward last week. Sorry about that; had it in my mind I did.

Redjack
All
FYI: Satyr is a Daddy again, just a few days ago, so he is understandably absent. If needed, I'll bump Val to keep the game going and let Daddy enjoy his new baby girl.

Hardwire
In order to keep the game going, I'll make some inferences.
1) Hardwire will thread scan to locate the hidden node of the cameras.
Threading(4) + Resonance(5) + Specialization:Threading(2) + Distraction:BlackHat(-2) [6,2,6,6,1,6,2,4,4] = 4 hits; Scan R3
2) Resist Fading: Intuition(5) + Resonance(5) [5,3,1,1,4,4,3,2,5,6] = 3 hits; 1 box stun
3) E-Warfare(2)+Scan(3)+Distraction(-2)+Hot Sim(2) [4] x6
- [4,5,4,4,2] = 1 hit
- [5,4,5,2,6] = 3 hits
- [2,5,3,6,1] = 2 hits
- [2,2,5,2,3] = 1 hits
- [5,5,4,6,5] = 4 hits
- [4,3,4,5,4] = 1 hit

Bob
Assensing(3) + Intuition(5)
- Guard: [6,1,6,3,3,1,6,5] = 4 hits
- Ward: [3,1,4,6,1,5,4,3] = 2 hits
Sengir
Heh, my plan actually was to simply snap a wire or take a bite out of the antenna once Bob is in place...Hardwire is a bit edgy right now, and if it makes somebody come outside to take a look at the cam, would that be bad? Still, knowing where the cams are might come handy

IC post and some intel gathering on Interpol once I had a little sleep, and congrats to Val smile.gif
Sengir

Compile R 5 Data Sprite: RES 5 + Compiling 5 + VR 2 = 12d6.hits(5)=7 [No negative from distraction since this is for the hack]
Sprite resists with Rating (5)*2 = 10d6.hits(5)=2
Resist Fading with RES 5 + INT 5 = 10d6.hits(5)=5

QUOTE
Bob, do you think you get get on the roof unseen if I simply break the antenna on one of the cams?

Well, that's actually more a GM question: Is there a way to get by with just one camera out?
Redjack
QUOTE (Sengir @ Oct 8 2013, 10:34 AM) *
Well, that's actually more a GM question: Is there a way to get by with just one camera out?
The cameras are laid out in complex cross covering arcs that the simpleton characters could never hope to- Just kidding. Yea, several options.
phlapjack77
Bob's heading to the side of the warehouse, using Spider Climb Gecko Crawl
F3: 2 hits
Drain resist 1S: 3 hits, no drain

After he gets to the top, he'll use Cryptesthesia to look around inside (concealing himself somewhere on the roof, if possible)
F3: 7 hits! (capped at F3 frown.gif)
Drain resist 3S: 2 hits, Bob takes 1S

Infiltration: 1 hit
Edge rerolling failures: 1 more hit (take off last two dice)

I'm trying to roll this while juggling other stuff at work, apologies if I've rolled something incorrectly...

*edited* now that I can look at my char sheet properly, sorry, some of the dice pools were off. Adjusted this post accordingly...
phlapjack77
Gonna be out of town for the next 4 days (til Tuesday night). Hope to be able to post some, but it's not certain. Redjack, please remote-control Bob as you see fit smile.gif
Redjack
For a game over 4 years old, I'm glad we're still moving forward and I'm excited every time I get to add a memory post for Val, giving some of his back story. Very soon (at relatively so), there may be enough clues that the remaining parts of the big picture will be revealed.

I would like to get back into a habit of posting twice per week, but I just can't promise it will work out. I'm just happy I've been able to post up weekly for the recent past.

QUOTE
The sprite produces three separate mini-clouds. Each represents an access point labeled "Interpol".

Just access points or do the clouds hold more info on what's beneath the access?
Redjack
QUOTE (SR4 @ pg241)
Sprites can be instructed to undertake a remote task in another node, sent to operate away from the technomancer. The sprite can only access public nodes or private nodes for which it has the pass codes or that it can hack with an Exploit complex form. Remote tasks forfeit any further tasks the sprite owes.

The location details are as follows:
- Interpol Seattle Liaison Office. Public node, located via public registration.
- Fox & Hound: Matrix Bar. Shadow-Sea lists this node as a hangout for Interpol agents and is rumored to be maintained on Interpol servers.
- Node 4R502342M-Q99W: Unregistered, hidden node. Located in the address book of a comlink turned in as evidence in the murder of one Jack Brighton and thereby entered into public record as evidence in the case against Michael "Blood Bomber" Martin. Jack was later identified as an undercover Interpol agent. Data was located on a public access server maintained by the non-profit group Freedom of Information.
Sengir
Well, I was hoping somebody else had posted any internals about Interpol's internals somewhere...looks like I'll have to discover the surprises.

Anyway, I think the ball for meatspace actions is in phlapjack's half
phlapjack77
I'm on it! Sorry for the delay...I had it in my mind I was waiting on something, so I didn't put priority on posting..

*edit*
Redjack, Bob had cast clairvoyance to see inside the building once he gets on the roof. What does he see?
Sengir
Note to phlabjack, you heard nothing of that hypothesis for now wink.gif
phlapjack77
Don't worry, see no evil, hear no evil over here! smile.gif
Sengir
See if Hardwire has a hint on the best candidate from his professional experience, otherwise I'll probably go with the mystery node (4R502342M-Q99W)
LOG (4) + Marix Security (5) = 9d6.hits(5) → [5,3,2,5,4,4,2,4,5] = (3)
Redjack
First, sorry for yet another disappearing act. Real-Life comes in bursts that yield 12-16 hour days for sometimes as much as two weeks. In any case, here is our next installment:

QUOTE (phlapjack77 @ Oct 28 2013, 09:10 PM) *

Bob's spell list is: Analyze Device, Calm Animal, Detect Individual, Detox, Gecko Crae- I assume you mean Low-Light Cryptesthesia....

Matrix Security: 3 hits; Public node will have heavy monitoring. A node published in Shadow-Sea is probably legit, but once it is known that it is published, conversion to a honey-pot would be a concern. An obscurely referenced node is the best bet of the three. Not necessarily less protected, but less likely to be filled with traps or on any alert level.

I'm really loving this story progression. It keeps the heart of the story I envisioned years ago when Satyr proposed the character to me, with subtle twists and depth provided by new actors I did not see back then.

Yes, sorry - that's what I meant. I sometimes get lazy typing 'low-light cryptesthesia', strange as it feels to type this but 'clairvoyance' is an easier word to type smile.gif
