...link to a cyber fashion line for study purposes. Some of the stuff is over the top (mostly the boots) but a lot of it rocks.

When I send the details of Lana Lane tonight, I will note some of the styles from this site she might wear. The trip is you can actually order clothing rom them.

Any other takers?

This has been a wonderful experience, I can't believe how 'in-tune' with my abilities I've become with this experiement. I thank you all for the inspiration and constructive comments.
Now to put a portfolio together and send it to Wizkids.
cristomeyers
Excellent, truly excellent. I love it. The smile is just a touch arrogant, which is absolutely perfect for her.

I'm so glad we could help. Your skills have improved greatly. I'll get together descriptions of Alex Rocheux and Speed sometime and send them along probably tomorrow or the next day. Saturday is SR day for me.
holychampion
ahh... the days of SR saturdays.
Wish I still had a group to do SR saturdays. But doing SR art makes up for it.
Kyoto Kid
..PM-ing you on Lana in a few moments. Has some other issues I had to take care of last night.

Check your DS inbox in about 20 min.

...too bad you were not in Portland TT (OR). I am assembling a new group of players for a second run at my Rhapsody arc. As a matter we are meeting today for character set up, setting the various houserules I have and background details.

I'd like to see a drawing of Fat Samurai.
He's a nearly burnt out and rather obese adept with some frivolous cyberwave implants.

He has an obvious bright crome cybertorso that begins with his shoulders and extends down to just below his pectorals. For some reason, possibly related to his obesity, his cybertorso has manboobs. His gut is all natural, but it is go large that he is confident that his fat will stop any bullet before it reaches something vital.
Despite his size, his is surprisingly agile and a skilled swordsman.

On top of his shoulders is a pair of muscular-looking chrome obvious cyberarms which he had installed in addition to his natural arms. They are mounted in such a way that they naturally point upwards when not in use and a person seeing him from a distance would think thing that he were being held up. However, they do have enough range of motion to bring food to his mouth, their primary use, or fire guns at people with accuracy, their secondary use.

In combat, he can usually be seen holding an MGL-12 in his left hand and a katana in his right, with a foot-long chili-dog in his upper-left hand and a 2-liter slush puppy in his upper-right. This arrangement allows him to efficiently kill and eat at the same time.

And his hair would be a blond crewcut.

o.k. this will be a challenge. I already have an image in mind, I'll give it a shot, no pomises.

I feel both terrified, and morbidly curious, to see Hyzmarca's request.

If you have the chance I'd love to get a picture of my character.

Jean:
Male, Elvin, Christian Theurgist/Face. 23 years old. Mixed Quebecois/Chinese ancestry, approximately 6'2, carries a rosary as a power focus. He has straight black hair 2-3 inches long, and slightly pale skin for a Hong Kong native. He's quite well built, and very handsome (cha 6) but it's also quite obvious that working out is a foreign concept (str 2). Usually dresses in an actioneer business suit for meets or working cloths consisting of jeans, a T-shirt, and an armoured vest under a sportbike jacket. Has an intricate geometric tattoo on his left ear (sustaining focus). Carries a Fichetti Security 600 though he's never actually fired it at a person. Prefers to let other people do the fighting for him (quite literally when the slaps them with a mob mind) than get into shootouts himself. Carries himself with considerable confidence and it's obvious that while he's not a corp suit out slumming he's definitely a cut above the average street scum he deals with. He's actually a Cross company man working with the remnants of the Seraphim to help try and rebuild the company.

This one I did for a friend of mine. He's a Physad with distance strike: elemental effect, lightning. He also carries a weapon foci: katana and a Aries Predator.

Wow, heh. He looks scary. Nice job.

I'll get these up before I forget. Besides, you're becoming popular now and I'd better claim my place in line biggrin.gif

Alex Rocheux/Spirit: Alex is a part Creole descendent of New Orleans. He's got a dancer's body, lithe, skinny (and before anyone starts, I've heard every joke in the book nyahnyah.gif). This gives him the appearance of being fragile, but he's anything but. Long hair again, but groomed, the guy's a Face, after all. His clothing is fashionable, but not "cutting edge." His facial features would be fine, hell, borderline efeminate. The only visible cyber he has is a datajack and retractable hand razors.

Lucas Ermine/Speed: Speed is a survivor from the Chicago Containment Zone and a gunslinger adept. "Sturdy" would be the best description, above average build, but not burly. He looks like he could hold his own in a bar brawl. Short hair, unkempt. His facial features are rounded. He carries twin Colt Manhunters on his hips in the old gunslinger style and a single barreled shotgun slung over his back. For clothing I'm seeing jeans and T-shirt, bartering for clothes just takes goods away that could be used to get more ammo. He does wear an armored jacket that is rigged with shock frills, so short tassles hang from the sleeves. If you know the reference, think Sam Verner's (Secrets of Power) jacket.

First sketch of 'fat samurai'. Now the big things for me are the type of gun (trying to referance the one mentioned and the style of the cyber arms. If you like a more 'humanoid' arm it can be drawn.
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/50748180/
hyzmarca
His face is extremely hard and rectangular, too hard and rectangular. Fat Samurai is, in part, inspired by Coop from Megas XLR. As such, the glutnous and slovenly warrior goes about his tasks with a childlike glee, rather then the maniacal glee that his Doom-Marine face suggests. I had hoped for a softer face.

The MGL-12 is 20mm grenade launcher fed by a detachable magazine (incorrectly refered to as a "clip") that holds 12 rounds. It is a rather large weapon.
Kyoto Kid
...*Bump*

Just trying to keep the Art Threads afloat on page 1.
holychampion
Sorry, real busy week for me. Here is a second attempt at the Fat samurai. I changed his face and made a attempt at the grenade launcher. There will be more, just let me know about the current changes. Did I get an answer on the cyber-arms? Are they too archaic? Let me know. smile.gif

The cyber-arms look nice. Overall, he's a grotesque monster and I would like to introduce him to my little friend, Grand Dragon ATGM, but that's a point of skill - he looks awful enough to want to bestow upon him physical violence.
cristomeyers
That's...interesting.

Interesting in a "stay away from me you chromed freak" kind of way.

Nice job.
holychampion
touched up somethings and darkened him up a bit. Providing this is satisfactory it will get inked.
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51252868/
then I'll be moving on to 'Spirit' and 'speed'.
ohh...and don't worry ShadowD I'm still planning on finishing what I started for u. eek.gif .
Kyoto Kid
...I like the 2L & the hot doggie. This man knows the value of Cyberlimbs.

The only thing is, can he drink, chew hot doggie, and shoot at the same time? (needs the Multitask Adept Power) grinbig.gif
hyzmarca
Of course he can, but he takes multi-wielding penalties for doing so.

It is satisfactory.
holychampion
LOL
holychampion
ohh.. sorry about that KK, I'll have the first sketch of Lana Lane up by tommorrow.
Then I'll start 'Jean' for imperialus, then 'Spirit' and 'Speed'.

Kyoto Kid
...no biggie...she really has to be stunning.

Think of Marlena Detrich (Shanghai Express, A Foreign Affair, Judgement at Nuremberg) or Ingid Bergman (Casablanca, Intermezzo, Notorious). Lana even likes to dress in that style.

[edit]
Oh and Jessica's line from Who Framed Roger Rabbit "I'm not bad, I'm only drawn that way."
Kyoto Kid
...hey Rocky, this Upsidasium is really neat...

Meanwhile....

So, Boris, we keell Moose and Squirrel now?

Nah, not yet. First we get Upsadasium, then we keell Moose and Squirrel.

...no issue here, I'll just keep yours & Trigger's threads afloat as I have been doing.

Looks good so far. Maybe not quite so "wide eyed". She is personable, but also very confident and one of the best in her biz.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Lana usually dressess like she is back in the 1930s - 40s. slinky knee length skirt, simple low cut V neck blouse or cardigan, stylish longcoat, & typical "reporter's" hat.

The Microphone (which she carries mainly for looks) should have the KSAF call letters on it.

Here's a link to an gallery of an actress I forgot to mention in my last post. She really was the model for Lana.

Lauren Bacall 1940's gallery

Now that's one fine dame...

BTW, two of her contacts are "Mel" the Troll reporter who is pictured in Shadowbeat and "Jack Q. Trid Reporter". Featured in the Ka*Pow! Ka*Pow!© Pro*file (kind of her mentor). Lana and Audrey V. were of course rivals.
holychampion
ok, a little darker with a troll vid-man (I will work on the camera...and his size/poportion tonight.), let me know.
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51550644/
Kyoto Kid
..adding Mel as the vid man is excellent. Make sure he is wearing his Fez (He has one on on in the Shadowbeat illo) The proportions look pretty good as does the Fuchi cam he's carrying.

Lana still needs the trench coat. In the gallery link I provided, you can view other pictures of Ms Bacall. by just clicking on the "continue" button. Also Lana's pose looks a bit stilted. she should appear a bit more "graceful" maybe her head turned to one side, hair slightly over one side of her face. Lana really loves playing the 30's "Dame act".

gotta log off, the film is starting (at the cinema to watch Clockwork Orange)

Will be back after the film.

[edit addendum]

Excellent Cine, got me into the mood for running the mission I have planned for today

Now that I studied the sketch a bit more she looks somewhat dour. Being an elf she would have a slightly more slender and delicate face like Lindsay Cartwright. I know it is hard to show the ears with the hat on.

The style of the era for the skirt should be more tight fitting and slinky with no pleats (think "gray flannel suit", but for a woman). Also Check some of the tops that Ms Bacall is wearing: Pics #9, #22, & 24 are quite representative of the era. Also if you remember the outfits that the replicant character "Rachel" wore in Bladerunner are quite excellent.

As to the pose, the first pic in the Lauren gallery really catches the "I'm not bad, I'm only drawn that way" look. The 6th photo is also very good and imparts a confident and determined feeling of, "...I'm going to get this story or else." You don't need to actually mimic any of these, just use them as guidelines.

Hope this helps. Again take your time, take a breather if you need to.
holychampion
o.k. made some changes. Hope u like. The smile will be changed again... just can't seem to find the right line.
anyway...
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51704872/
oh the eyes will change also.
Kyoto Kid
...I like very much. Maybe "unaccent" the smile lines just a bit since when inked they make a person look much older than they are. With the adjustments you mentioned above, I can't wait to see the final sketch.

Mel looks awesome. I think The baseball cap works better, makes him looks like a real vid man.

The background is excellent. Waiting to see what goes on the sign above the door. My guess it's a bar. Wish I had my Seattle Sourcebook with me to suggest some names.
holychampion
almost made it to the bottom.
Here is a inked version of Fat Samurai, but he's not done yet.
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51951769/
And the inked version of Lana Lane, not quite finished.
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51951930/
I should have all the finishing shading done and up by tonight.
hope u enjoy.
Kyoto Kid
...Fat Samurai: Totally wonderful. Munchin & gunnin his way through the shadows. Will be cool to see what the background will be.

...Lana Lane: hubba hubba, stop the Presses!" love.gif

I think KSAF's ratings just shot through the roof. The Nielsen and Arbitron (another media rating group) matrices have just crashed due to extreme overload & their sysop deckers have a serious case of dumpshock (at least that's what they say).
ShadowDragon8685
The Fat Samurai is scaring me, of course, and Lana Lane of course is a wowsa.

I also like the latest Favorite in your favorites list. ^_^

Still waiting on the Skate image, though... Ah well. nyahnyah.gif

Per your request, a collection of items in profile (as if being displayed for a BBB or item/gear supplement)

1: A med-kit, including contents. Should (at least) include a couple of slap-patches and some kind of portable medical computer/unit/advisor.

2: A laser weapon. This should be a full-sized battle rifle with nothing spared - that means no laser target sight or iron sights. It should have an integral Smartlink, and a scope that can use the data from the smartlink for long-range firing. Far from being boxy, it should be a sleek and sexy ergonomic design, preferably including an underbarrel bipod mount.

3: A grenade - an electromagnetic pulse grenade. It should be obviously different from a pineapple frag grenade, but equally obviously used as a thrown weapon.

4: A Commlink (SR4), and it's attendant AR overlays

5: A Stuffer-Shack branded instant chupaqueso (essentially a burrito with the shell (and insides) made out of cheese instead of tortilla) in a wrapper (so you don't have to worry about drawing an unknown consumable), instant burger in autoChef-safe container, and a big gulp of something akin to an Icee/slushee. Go hog-wild on the advertising of these.

Sorry for the delay been real busy, but still working on these.
Kyoto Kid
...just caught the latest update of Lana on the Deviantart site. Looking really, really nice. Only need a name on the sign behind her.

How about the "Seattle Press Club" Back in my hometown there was a "News Bar" (I kid you not) called the Milwaukee Press Club which was located in the same space the original Press Club occupied. Instead of sports on multiple screens, they had different streaming news feeds. One of the coolest things was on the walls were hanging lacquered slate boards with the real autographs of notable people who were guests of the original press club (when it was an exclusive organisation) such as Louie Armstrong, Bogart, Teddy Roosevelt, Kate Hepburn (my favourite actress), and even Queen Elizabeth. cool.gif
ShadowDragon8685
Not bad, not bad...

Still the Fat Samurai looks like his weapon is a jam waiting to happen, but the soda at least looks bigger. smile.gif
