Looks like know where my Karma is going to be spent.

If you want to shift something around real quick to get some tasks in perception you can.

meh.

I will just buy it with Karma. I probably made more mistakes, so I will just deal with them, and learn for next time.

Swims-With-Sharks is moving around a bit too much compared to the rest of the team. You'll actually only just be making it to the cash register when my next IC post happens.

Ok sorry about that - I'll modify my IC to put him back at the cash register

No worries. I was just stalling to make sure we didn't have any good samaritans that wanted to try to step up for the opening fight scene.

StufferShack Map has been updated.

Time for everybody to roll initiative. Also, anybody that has knowledge of Seattle Gangs you can roll it to see if you recognize the tattoos.
Thanee
Hmm... I'm wondering, if Angel can even do anything useful right now. smile.gif

Well, there might be a hidden node for a panic button if you want to try finding it and calling in Knight Errant to deal with this. Or if you are thinking your team does want KE showing up and/or video of whatever they might do in the next few seconds showing up on the morning news, you could try hacking the StufferShack's host.

Don't worry too much, there's more than just this one goblinized figure in this scene. smile.gif
Bastard
Wow... I am fast! I really hope someone beats me in Init, since I am going to cower behind cover.

Naturally... biggrin.gif

I will have to familiarize myself a bit with what Technomancers can do during a combat... after all, that is one of the changes in SR5, that the Matrix-folk can actively do something during combat (or are supposed to smile.gif).

Indeed. Though there isn't much you can do against and unarmed, uncybered, killing machine that doesn't even have a scrap of electronics on him..... at least not that you've noticed.

At this moment in time, there is a fight to which Takako no longer has a stake- at least not that he is aware of.
The gangers started the fight, the bum is successfully defending himself. If there is a more to endanger others or the bum is determined to be a toxic, then Takako's motivations change.

I'm playing him as still being a little stubborn and a little resistant to Eagle's call when he's not actively involved. For him, I see the Code of Honor as akin to a Warrior's Code; hoping to feel that out a little better as I get to know the character. He's a kid of the Barrens, but also his grandfather's grandson and called by Eagle... if that all makes any sense.

Obviously, GM nudges as he sees fit are appreciated.
DireRadiant
Flowers Initiative 5 + 5 + 1d6 (10 + 1d6=13)

Flowers is going to do what the team decides, even if it's personally painful, but of course, the question is, what does the team want?

It's a shame you don't have astral perception. But yeah, You are being perfectly in character. So no worries. Currently it looks like Mako will be going first on initiative.

Ok, that's the last init we were waiting for.

Init order:
Mako
Off camera NPC
Takako
NPC-Doctor
Sledge
Swims-With-Sharks
Flowers
Angel
Off camera NPC
NPC-Amy
NPC-Fontine(mother)
NPC-Dax (drunkard)
Off camera NPC
NPC-Bob(supervisor)
NPC-Whiskers(punk)
NPC-Jerry(dad)
NPC-Shelly(clerk)
NPC-Shi-Thead (kid)

(most of the NPCs won't be doing much, but I've left them on here for reference)

IC post coming up for Mako. He will be screaming in primal rage as his body seems to bulk up even more in both weight and muscle (Takako may be familiar with the signs of an adepts Attribute Boost). I will also say, that whatever this guy is, he doesn't look like any troll you've ever seen. For a moment he appeared like a typical troll, but he kept goblinizing beyond that as his flesh actually tears in places and spines pierce out from his back.

He then reaches over and lifts up the entire row of shelves that made up Aisle 2. Canisters of oil and various other automotive liquids and gear are falling all around him. More than a few of which have broken open and are making the floor slick.
Slacker
Just noticed that none of you have Seattle Gang knowledge. Those of you with Area/Street knowledge of Seattle can roll it with a -2 modifier to see if you recognize anything about Mako or his tattoos. If you have knowledge organized crime, you can make the roll with a -1.

With it still fresh on your mind, you seem to recognize one of the tattoos on the trolls shoulder (right before it is ripped by muscles bulking beyond normal limits). You'd swear it was the symbol of the Rusted Stilettos that you just tangled with on the last mission. Though You know you'd remember something like this guy. He was not in the group that attacked you guys mid transport.
Redjack
Takako: Seattle Street Knowledge(4) + Intuition(4) + Skill Substitution(-2) [5,1,1,3,5,3] = 2 hits
Redjack
I would like Takako to make an unarmed attack, running at the troll stepping off the shelves to keep out of the oil. He wants to end up on the other side of the troll with a long term plan of baiting the troll out of the store. He has both unarmed and gymnastics with a specialization in Parkour (aka free running).

Unarmed(6) + Martial Arts Specialization(2) + Agility(7) + Charging Attack(2) = [4,3,4,5,1,5,2,6,2,6,1,1,1,1,3,1,4] = 4 hits; Physical Limit = 8
Gymnastics(4) + Parkour Specialization(2) + Agility(7) = [1,5,3,4,6,2,1,4,5,4,3,2,3] = 3 hits; Physical Limit = 8

You too notice tattoos that make you think this guy is/was part of the Rusted Stilettos. It seems like a little too much of a coincidence after you had just "randomly" encountered the while transferring something to a research lab.

Are you trying to do physical damage or stun? And your base damage is 9, right (STR 5 + 4 ranks of Critical Strike)?
I'm not giving the troll his reach advantage because he is holding a whole shelving unit over his head. He manages to get 2 hits on his Reaction + Intuition.
Wow does invisible castle not like him, he spent a point of edge to reroll failed dice and only got 1 hit out out of 13 on the reroll to add to his original 4 hits. So he takes 6 boxes of damage, though he hardly seems to notice it.

Stun. Eagle and Warrior Code don't like physical damage except as a last resort.

Where are you heading as you scurry away? If you walk, you can make it to the end of the aisle this pass and be in front of the register near Swims-With-Sharks. If you run, you can move double that.
Thanee
To the left end of the aisle for now and around the corner (towards the top of the map); i.e. where she was headed before the initiative began already.

Bastard
Sledge is going to use the confusion in the store to stealthily move to the back of the store, what I assume is the "Employees Only" area. I want to cover the back door, since I will see it once going in, then stop at the corner across from it. Sledge will probably move to the front counter if no one comes in that door, since that should give him some sort of surprise if someone else comes in, and partial cover.

Criminal Organizations to check the tattoos (3 Criminal Organizations + 3 Intuition - 1 Skill Substitution): 1 Hit (3,6,4,2,1)

Perception to check if the coast is clear, to stealthily move to the back (3 Intuition): 2 Hits (5,4,5)

Stealth/Sneak to move through the store (6 Sneak + 6 Agility): 2 Hits (4,2,6,1,4,6,3,4,4,2,4,4)

Thanee
Untrained Perception is Intuition -1. wink.gif

That skill really is quite useful, even at a fairly low level. And there are plenty cyber/equipment options to improve it.

Yeah... I didn't realize it was a skill. Buying it with karma later.

Sorry, I left my rulebook at home, so I'm not sure of the rolls to make for the Improved Invisibility spell. If you want to make them for me Slacker, that's cool, otherwise I'll post the rolls when I get home.

Complex Action: cast Imp. Invis.
Free Action: teamnet message
Movement: slowly backing away from the ruckus

Ok, here goes:
F5 Imp Invis: 2 hits hrrrmmmm
Drain (F5-1): 4 hits -> no drain

No so effective this time around...
DireRadiant
Charisma 9 + Pheremones 2 + Leadership 3, Flowers attempting to Command family (14d6.hits(5)=5) Adjust as needed for situation mods.

That will be one action to convince them to listen, the next (Free?) to actually tell them what to do. Which is to take cover in that back room. So this will eat all my IP.

With only 1 hit on Criminal Organizations knowledge you can't identify the tattoos though they definitely look gang related.

I'm assuming you are going at walking speed rather than running since you are trying to be stealthy. If that is true, you've only made across the gap between Aisle 17 and 18 on the first pass. If you run, you can make it to the end of aisle 17 this pass, but being stealthy is harder (though looking at your rolls I guess it doesn't much matter; you'd still have the 2 hits).

As you passed the gap between aisles you notice that the father and mother with the child are both reaching for concealed weapons of some sort.

You notice that they already seem to be reaching for concealed weapons. You have their full attention though and can tell them to do something as a Free action if you like.
Slacker
Sorry for the delayed responses, I was in a Diversity training class all day at work yesterday.

I believe we've gotten first pass actions from everybody.

Off camera since none of you are currently in a good position to notice, the drunkard has moved to the end of the aisle and is grabbing a bunch of Tir wine bottles while frantically checking for any violence coming his way.

Seeing Swims-with-Sharks vanish into thin air while there is a major ruckus at the front of the store, the supervisor makes a mad dash for the safety of his office.

The other punk that had been accosting the man that became a troll thing is a bit in shock and just barely backs away from the beast.

And the cashier is finally frightened by the newly goblinized troll. She ducks down behind the counter and does something beneath it. Angel and Swims can roll Perception to see if they notice what she's doing.

I'm waiting to post actions for the family until Flowers gets a chance to say something to them.

Slight correction - Swims was trying to turn Angel invisible - I think he had LOS to her. If he didn't have LOS, he would have first moved over until he did - they were at least really close, according to the map.

Slacker
Then we are back up at the top of init.

IP2:
Mako
Off camera-NPC
Takako
NPC-Doctor that's running
Sledge
Swims-With-Sharks
Flowers
Angel
Off camera NPC
NPC-Amy (running with the doctor)
NPC-Fontine (wife in family)

For his turn, Mako turns on the gnat that just punched him in the face and slams down the shelving unit on him. You'll be suffering a -2 on defense (-1 for his natural reach and another -1 for the size of the shelves). Invisible Castle still doesn't like him much, he only got 2 hits.

Sorry, reading through too quick trying to catch up. Angel is invisible then.

Reaction( 8 ) + Intuition(4) + Combat Sense(1) + Opponent Reach(-1) + Shelf Size(-1) [5,5,3,1,4,3,6,4,2,2,1] = 3 hits
Redjack
Takako will be trying to grab something from the falling shelf and throw it at the troll as he moves away the shelf and towards the door. Obviously the latter roll is a thrown weapons. What about the former? Agility + unarmed?

(He will also be replying to the team when I post his action)

You dodge out of the way. Lets see what happens to the contents of the shelves though...Beneath the shattered shelves is a chaotic mess of material, but most relevant to A purple syrupy powder splashes Takako, Mako, and the Punk that was backing away along with much of the floor in a 2 meter radius. Meaning movement is more difficult around the fight.

And now it's your turn, Takako
