Fortune--You know that this club is fairly new on the Rave scene. It is heavier on the drugs and lighter on the music than most others.

I said bump, not bumping uglies...
whatever you two decide to do when the run is over is between you...

@adamu: I love that description, but I have one minor nitpick. Ryan changed his jacket's colors to a mottled green and black pattern after making good his escape from the scene of his last adventure.

Speaking of scenes of last adventures, McQuillan ... Ryan picked up the Spike's pistol as he left the scene (he stowed it under the Scorpion's saddle before attending the meet). So, just what kind of pistol was it?
What can I say? Ryan's a gun nut!

Sorry dude, I tried to be real careful and only include details that players had already included in their own posts, so as not to step on anyone's toes. Missed that point.
But I will edit it right now. Thanks for pointing it out.

But speaking strictly OOC, seems to me that by the time he sees her again he won't even know it's her.

That is part of her trick. She has ways for those who work with her to recognise her.

McQuillan - here's one of those "people living in 2070 Seattle would just know this/GM-player in the same reality" questions....
Johnson says 5K and 30K, but never mentions currency.
Then he specifies UCAS$ for what we are expected to pay the guinea pig.
Now, I think we all assumed the initial offer was in nuyen - I mean, I think that is still the common currency in Seattle/the world of 2070/Shadowrun, but then Seattle is technically UCAS. Couldn't find anything saying otherwise in Runner Havens...I'm obviously not asking you what the J REALLY meant, but just touching base with you (and everyone) that most people would just naturally assume the J is talking NUYEN (which according to SoNA is still worth about five times the UCAS dollar)...
BishopMcQ
Jan 18 2007, 05:30 PM
Certified cred is generally measured in Nuyen. Hard currency will be based in local currency and depend on the individual for translation. (ie. 500 hard, could be $500 UCAS or 500

worth of hard currency)

[ Spoiler ]
McHugh's: The home of the golden goalposts, this bastion of the ‘average person’ is wildly popular. This is due in mega-gigantic part to several things: 1) safety is such an issue there that if you’re not safe at a McHugh’s, you’re not safe anywhere, 2) you always know what’s at a McHugh’s… the menu never changes, despite the ‘for a limited time only’ tack-ons to bring in customers, and 3) cheap, cheap, cheap. You can feed a family of four (even if your ‘family’ happens to be a crew of four Troll sammies) for less than what it’d cost you to pick up spare medkit supplies, if you catch my spin. Yeah, the food’s soy, and it ain’t gourmet tofu, but you’ll fill your hole with grub quick, easy, and without worrying about gaining a hole in your brainpan. Makes you wanna know who’s behind all this, huh? Well chums, we all know that McHugh’s used to be called another ‘Mc’ that shall remain nameless just because of the acrimonious arguments still flying around. Apparently the folks that originally owned the superchain are still smarting from the name change, among other things. The person, or entities, now in ownership has remained pretty anonymous except for the whipping boy they call their mascot, “Doughall McHugh”. The only thing I’ve been able to find out, so far, is that these jokers are way paranoid. Works out nova in the end for us proles, though, because as crazy as it sounds, I’ve had a few really wiz chummers of mine use those places as neutral ground for any transactions that they’re feeling iffy about. Tends to put a damper on anyone thinking of pulling out heat.
Prices: thumbs up. What’d I tell ya… scrounge a few cred and soon you’re chowing on ‘The Hugh’ with cheesefood. Doesn’t get much better’n that.
Speed of Service: thumbs up. Yessir, Nossir, ya want fries with that?
Quality: thumbs up. Okay, so it’s flash-frozen soy that’s just warmed up in microwave ovens, but at least you don’t have to worry about finding ‘tail of devil rat’ in your food.
> Be careful of what you pack when you go in… don’t let the friendly looking faces of the McHugh’s guards fool you into
thinking they’re vacant upstairs. They pay special attention to the proles that carry. And don’t think that your longcoat’s
gonna hide your piece; they’ve got metal and chemical detectors built into the doorframes, and the info about who’s
carrying finds its way to the earpieces the guards wear.

Al is thinking on whether he knows a good place to start the search - e.g. whether in his neck of the woods he has seen or heard anything about a new drug that gives its users a sense of where the dealer is, or more broadly, just a new type of drug on the streets (or in Al's case, on the docks/in the dives).
[ Spoiler ]
Intuition + Seattle Dockyards (street) + Criminal Activities spec = 9 dice
5 5 5 3 3 5 2 2 6 = 5 hits
BishopMcQ
Feb 14 2007, 04:35 PM
Adamu--There hasn't been any news about a drug that lets people know where the dealer is, though a few new drugs have hit the market which are half the cost of current ones. General belief is that they have a higher OD rate as it seems to be the friend of a friend who was taking the drugs and dropped off. Very few people that you know have ever directly taken the drug.

Okay, I have been stressing about something since I joined this forum last April - and that is how much to post.
Frankly, I am not sure if there is an etiquette involved or not. Logically, it seems that the board is structured so that no matter how much one person posts, anyone else is still able to post all they feel inclined to.
Still, I do worry about stepping on toes. And I know that out of six (?) players, I have been making about a third of the IC posts. I have no desire to hog the stage, but I usually make myself wait about 24 hours before some posts, and it very much seems like if I don't post something, no one will. Personally, I really don't even WANT Al on center stage all the time, but I want to keep the thread going. But I suppose that's not really my place, anyway, but the GM's.
I am very excited about this game - I daresay it is, to me, THE most important thing I am doing on this board. I would really hate to see it fade away.
Sorry to be so direct - been pussyfooting around this issue for ten months.
Please let me know if I am crowding anyone out of their chance to enjoy the game, or if I am impinging on any GM prerogatives. I am more than happy to move to the back seat.
On the other hand, if anyone has any ideas on jumpstarting this thread (or is it actually humming along fine and I am just impatient), let's discuss them.

Feb 15 2007, 02:31 PM
Ahh, posting ettiquette, always tricky.
For example, while recently I've been urging scenes along with Bubbles hyperkinetic urge to keep moving, it may actually be a bad idea to let her drive what the entire team does. An effective IC team leader would be a useful thing to have right now, and IC Bubbles is certainly not it. On the other hand, it might be fun to see how far along Bubbles can string everyone.
