I'm sure it won't really be a problem. I mean, it ain't like we are proceeding at a pace close to light speed or anything.

As for insights, well I don't have much. That being said, one thing to keep in mind is our actual job objective. We aren't getting paid
nearly enough to do extra crap.

Location Bravo is not really significant, unless it can lead us to our final objective, which from the look of things, location-wise, we already know (or at least strongly believe) is SSMC. I think we need to narrow our focus to just accomplishing the task. It isn't necessary to unravel the mystery in order to carry out the job at hand.
Oh, and another thing. We all had a few hours in the bar before Tara showed up, and probably caught each other up to a certain extent at that time with everything up until then. It would have been somewhat necessary for Ryan's benefit anyway.

No safehouse here but I concur that we need to find some place to lay low. It needs to be a place where we can interrogate and do any matrix activity necessary.
Also we were all up the whole night so soon everyone will need to get some rest to be at their best.
I guess we can check with a fixer and see about renting one but we need to keep costs down so thatwe can keep our profit up.
BTW Adamu thanks for taking the time to sum everything up, it is much appreciated.

I agree with Fortune that Priority One is nailing the target - probably SSMC. And doing so MIGHT help us identify the money-man.
So if we can do that and walk away, that is a good thing.
But I also think the more of this we suss out, the more advantage we have, the more likely we are to identify the money guy, and the better chance we have of going proactive and getting paid more than one way.
So yeah - given choices between activities,
PRIORITY - direct course to SSCM hit.
SECONDARY - (but important) - other leads
To that end, we still need to
Inventory gear, if for no other reason than to try not to be tracked.
Interrogate Hayden.
Hack Tara.
Which does indeed mean, as amra28 said, a semi-safe place to rest and work.
Great work on the camera hacks (someone going to actually DO that?) and cyber scans.
Look forward to more IC, but personally I'm waiting on the cyber results.
And we need to decide WHERE we are going.
Al's place is probably known to the Johnson (he knew my contact, who is my landlord), so maybe the opposition knows it too. It is also small and flooded...
So anyone have an idea for a location/destination?

I wanted to check what the plan is after the shopping and food run. There has been a call to focus efforts on the SSMC, and distributed concepts about the myriad of other leads.
Does anyone have a safehouse, or knowledge skills pertaining to, that they'd like to route the team towards? What is the plan of attack on destroying the manufacturing facility after locating it?
Does anyone have knowledge skills that they'd like to throw to sort out some of the wheat from the chaff? Cybertechnology, Computer Theory, Chemistry, Biology, Street Drugs, Technomancers, Military Projects, Black Ops, Megacorporate Politics...several more come to mind, but the knowledge skills can sort out what is fact and fiction.

No knowledge skills that can help at the moment. Maybe if we get something more specific Pesto does have computer and electronics knowledge.
It looks like no one has a place for us to camp out. That leaves us three options I can see:
1. We just go to the Barrens a squat somewhere (very dangerous)
2. We go to a coffin motel (exposes us to more eyes)
3. We contact a fixer and rent a safe place (costs the most money)

QUOTE |
What is the plan of attack on destroying the manufacturing facility after locating it? |
I know how useful it is for a GM to have some sort of heads up what sorts of prep will be needed, since it can really change depending on the players' approach. Unfortunately, since we haven't really gleaned any concrete info on the surroundings, structure, size or anything else about said facility, I will confess to being a real blank on that right now.
In a perfect world, some of the materials they are working on will be caustic or combustible. We've got multiple demolitions people in the team. Maybe the nanites can be reprogrammed to eat themselves...
Just two ideas, but impossible to say without some idea of what the place is like.
That said, if we end up approaching a fixer for a place to stay, using some of our seed money to try and score some plastique seems like a real good idea.
Of amra28's suggestions, I like the third the best. Barrens can be more trouble than it's worth, and is far away. Coffin hotels separate us and don't provide room to work.
So going through a fixer for a safe place seems logical, if expensive.
Or, if anyone has a decent ID, we could just pay for a regular motel room - skip the black market price premium.
Here is a roll to see if Al knows a good place or person that provides locations in which to hole up in this area -
Intuition + Seattle Dockyards + Criminal Activities specialization = 9 dice
3 5 6 5 3 1 5 3 1 = 4 hits
Whatever we decide to do, if we are going to move ahead with hacking Tara, what if we do a fast hack en route, then dump her along with Mitch? Seems like no matter what we do to scrub ourselves of tracking signals, that girl is still broadcasting...Just a thought.
Once we get somewhere semi-secure, aside from rest and all that, I think we need to sweat Hayden and get into her commlink. Once that is done, we will probably have to move to some actual on-site scouting - either SSMC or whatever people/locations we get out of Hayden.
But as Fortune has stressed, heading straight for an on-the-ground recon of SSMC is probably our most efficient play....
Fortune

My vote's for the Barrens (or Tarislar). We aren't getting paid hardly anything as it is, and the expenses keep piling up. Paying a fixer will pretty much kill whatever profit we (or at least Flint) make from the job.

Dec 25 2007, 07:53 PM
Outstanding!
Then I vote we head for Tarislar, leave arrangements there to the elves.
We can dump Mitch on the way.
For Tara - the decision is whether to dump her to get rid of her signal, or keep her and try to exploit the signal.
I say we leave that to the two hackers. Al can watch Hayden while they work and drive.
And before we leave the docks, swinging quickly by a dive shop would let me refill my air tank - a good investment in time since we already had someone try to gas us once.
Fortune
Dec 25 2007, 09:39 PM
If that is the plan (and I'll wait for others to chime in), then we'd probably be best splitting up for the trip. Flintlock would have to go set things up first (if possible) ... whether Sun wants to come along is up to her. The rest of you could dump the body (bodies?) and get whatever else you need and then meet up when (if?) we've secured a place.
Oh, and if you'd have listened to me, you'd have a keg of beer instead of a stiff in the van. Don't you just hate it when people say 'I told you so'?

Tarislar works for me.
I would prefer the slow probe since it really cuts down the chance of setting off an alert. I am flexible though and if we are all decided to get rid of Tara then a fast hack can be used.

Is the issue whether Bubbles has a set of 'trodes? Even without an answer from Dire or Bishop, I reckon we can walk into the Stuffer Shack and pick some up for Y50 (which, um, is actually beyond Al's current budget...).
Or is it a larger issue of setting up a dual hack or something?
I say we get the van headed in the right direction on autopilot and let the hackers work out their tech wonderfulness!

Implanted commlink, no trodes.
Will using a skin link while they are jammed help to limit their ability to communicate out while enabling us to hack their commlinks without interference?
amra28
Jan 9 2008, 03:52 AM
You are right about picking up the trodes in the shack. I sometimes forget about buying simple equipment legally.
I forgot to roll up starting cash but I am sure Pesto has

50.
We could also drive around the city in a random direction and the turn the jammer off for a quick hack.
BishopMcQ
Jan 10 2008, 04:46 AM
Consider them purchased at the Stuffer Shack since you are right there, and throw me some dice.
A skinlink is effectively what the trodes are for--you need to create a hardwired connection point between Pesto's commlink and the Target. The problem with a generic skinlink is that the Signal 0 will be overwhelmed by the jammer and Pesto won't be able to hack remotely through it.

There are no signals escaping Hayden, if she has a commlink it is fully jammed. The Cyberware scan came up inconclusive due to too many pieces of ware overlapping inside. It's fully reasonable to suspect that crammed alongside all her headware is an internal commlink.
