Ownership, mainly. Horizon swallowed NewsCorp (HT) and thus now owns the Obelisk (30 Karma to anyoen who gets THAT film reference, by the way). Camelot is now Novatech's (NeoNet's) Station, as Nova gobbled up Fuchi Space (They even let FS keep it's name as of Corp Download).

However, we've also had some total losses. Zurich-Orbital crashed during the 2nd Crash. Helios was lost too. Actually, many space stations suffered crew death due to their computers displaying bluescreens. Luckily, despite all the financial hardship with rebuilding the planet's electronic infrastructure from scratch and all the other fun the Crash briought about, people not only had the money to put up several new arcologies, but also shot up several new space stations to replace those who were never conceived with backup computer systems, like Aztech's Tlaloc.

Is Lofwyr the dragon formerly known as Denairastas? If not, what happened to Denairastas?

(In my opinion he's not. But some people really want him to be. However there are some parallels. Golden scales and so on...)
Ryu
Lofwyr is referenced in the ED:Dragons description of Alamaise, and that reference would be extremly unfitting if he was also the Outcast. Plus the Outcast is described as a (comparativly) small great dragon, while Lofwyr is one of the oldest, and therefore largest.

The Outcast has golden-shimmering scales and black claws. If he didn´t have great status, I´d consider Calozerca, but that one is only an adult.
Sir_Psycho
I'd say he was killed during the down-cycle by the elves. Was it Aina Dupree or one of the other female IE's who master-minded that one?

Has there ever been a actual explanation of Dragons and IE's hating eachother, other than that they're both races of opportunistic machiavellian power-mongers who can't share?

DREK!! He just has a great PR department.

My question is, how the hell does Richard Villiers continue to be successful in the face of so much adversity???? Is he the 4th Coin of Luck (Or whichever one covers prosperity) in human form?

I think that the Outcast gets killed at some point during ED and his spirit is bound into some sort of vessel, he breaks out during the middle ages possesses the head of the Templars and starts the Black Lodge, and possibly the dragon hunters. This is all based on conversation with Synner.

My question is - So Adam Alone, the Ork artist pictured in SR2 and mentioned as having introduced the Big D to Nadja Davier, is Garlthrik One Eye from Earthdawn right? (just to make AH spit feathers wink.gif)

Also what happened to Ms Davier (and her brown nipples).

Will there ever be transformable drones? (an actual question posed to me by another player)

Its corpse-guard. Watch your spelling. And yes, but only if your smartguns camera is running.

My runners request the adress of your player. As cool as transformers are, he now has to die.

We'll probably see 'Mask' style vehicles before we see trasnformers.
Stahlseele
well, one would only have to figure out the mechanics for the transforming itself . . everything else you need for a transformer is in there allready . . same goes for mask vehicles . . i'm kinda hoping for Frank Trollman for example to make something up after his work on cyber-limbs *g*

He's just tenacious. Damien Knight is the one to look out for.

His GM gave him a Karma Bonus of 1000 for defeating the crash virus and so he's been running on a Karma Pool edge of 100 since the 20's.

Same thing that happens to most living things when exposed to the cold harshness of space. They stop.

Which book is this detailed in? I just re-read SR4's history lesson and there's nothing in there about the Z-OH crashing and the corp court justices on board dying. Hell, of anyone, you'd think they had a backup system.
kzt
There was a lot of stupid writing in System Failure. Particularly involving space. It appears that some people (including the writer and the developer) didn't realize that it takes a LOT of energy to remove things from orbit. Things don't just "fall" out of orbit.

I would think that ALL of the space stations would have a backup system that is completely independent of the Matrix. Honestly, to NOT have a backup system... well I guess that's why they died... Terminal Stupidity.
CanRay
I'm willing to bet that decompression, exposure to space, and re-entry killed them.
Chrysalis
Even the ISS has redundancy systems. I would have to ask my brother on the systems, but I do remember ages ago that they have three redundancies on each system. Worse comes to worse you can do a manual firmware reboot.

"A bridge between worlds" perhaps? The one Harly stopped?

I searched for references a bit. The bridge was a blood magic ritual performed on Haleakala (mentioned in Worlds Without End pg.28). Haleakala is on Maui.

Ni'ihau is called the Forbidden Isle even today. Wiki. If there is an SR explanation, I don´t know it.

It might, but they don't have that much energy in their stationkeeping systems. I might convince you to fly to Hong Kong by flapping your arms really hard, but you are unlikely to get very far no matter how convincing I am.
Drogos
I think we can agree that it is highly unlikely they would have enough energy at the time to perform a reentry. But stuff falling from space is just too cool to pass up. And in a game where Dragons and Elves and Magic and Cyberzombies exist, I can deal with a few CRAZY coincidences in the name of dramatic imagery. In other words, I concede your point and make it fit my own!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Oh good. One less obscure, hard-to-find, reference to try and track down. smile.gif

Huh. I, apparently, critically glitched my search-fu when trying to research this.

It doesn't quite explain the harsh reactions of the Hawai'ian military (in SR) to trespassers, but, whatever. It's probably either something big-and-magical going on or... its purely a cultural thing.

Thanks, Ryu.

- Why didn't Sosann Neirenn/Alachia just rip off Zincan's head? She's not the most forgiving person and surely wouldn't step down as a Prince just because some cokeheads from an Ad Agency let loose a smear campaign against herself (she'd rather kill Horizon's leaders, possibly the entire LA staff. She's an expert blood mage and specialises in hurting large populations, after all).

Actually, that makes sense. In order to keep the diagnostics overwatched more easily (and costs of operation lower), beam the controls and diagnostics to an earth base. There you have a Tech that handles all of the stations owned by a megacorp available 24/7 and they trouble shoot any issues it saves on having trained astronauts taking care of routine functions around the clock at each facility. Also allows you to run it through a supercomputer based on Earth that will forecast any forseeable issues with the up to the nanosecond diagnostics. And if there happens to be a malfunction, there is a system in place to ensure the entire station is not taken out because the tech on the station hooked up the wrong hose to the lifesupport system. I'm not 100% sure we aren't doing as much of that as we can now with the International Space Station. With the history of space exploration consisting of catostrophic events such as Apollo 13 and the last one where the shuttle blew up (cause I forget which mission it was), a level of control given to mission control seems, on paper, a good idea. Load the matrix connection in a similar vein to the other connections that travel between the earth and ZO and you would be pretty certain there would be no issue with hacking. Of course, your opinion differs. I just saw the pervasive presence of the Matrix as put as much that can be controlled by a computer on it.
