Hell if you guys really want to tag along, I could just buy some hitcher jacks. As long as you don't have motion sickness (And have a datajack), you can come along for the actual ride smile.gif
Grey
Count Akuma in smile.gif
Grey
In fact, I've had GMs allow people who come along for the ride make Perception checks to notice things that the Decker may have missed. I dunno is Dash would like that, but its an idea.
Elfie
It's a thought. From what i've read, hitchers don't make it harder for the decker at all, and they're perfectly safe from all harm (even black IC). You're pretty much just seeing things through my eyes. I've never thought of the whole perception test thingy, I like it, but it's not my call. I don't think you'll be hitching along on this run, since we've already done it, but hitcher jacks should be easy to purchase after this run.

@Alice, Rowan: Hahaha, candy stripers! I knew it! I don't know why, but as I was decking, I told Dash that somehow Alice was going to want to go in as a Candy striper. Guess that's how I'm reading the character, but it's a funny idea (well to me, anyway).

The only problem I have with the doctor/nurse/patient idea is ID. Too many things can be pulled by the GM to screw that plan over quick. Just my 2 nuyen.gif
Dashifen
I lied. I'll have the decking stuff up tomorrow morning when I get back to an internet connection on my computer. I don't have a major problem with others tagging along on the Matrix runs, but it does cause us to have to do them on board time and not RL time.

phelious fogg
You could just let them see whats going on without letting them actualy affect anything.. then you coudl just include them in the post... but its just a thought
Grey
Yeah, if it'll slow things down, don't do it.
Dashifen
For better or for worse, I did this matrix run as one long post. I just got it up now. For future ones, you guys would have to decide in character if Rowan, Alice, Mojo, or Akuma would actually want to come alone with Lex or just let him do what he does best. If someone thinks that they would come along, then I'll do the rolling and what not on the boards. Since Elfie and I live together we can probably sit down the hall from each other and still move through some of the stuff pretty quickly.

Or, if you guys aren't interested, then Elfie and I will just make the rolls of board and then I'll post big messages like the one I just did! Either way works for me.

-- Dash --
Grey
Akuma would hitch a ride, but go ahead and do all the rolling offline and make posts like you did. That was great by the way! smile.gif
phelious fogg
I like the way you just did it, so in the future if we care to come along do the same thing and Ill sure be happy
Elfie
Hehe, I'm an old fashioned protagonist smile.gif I really like the way that post came out. It's almost dinner time for me, but after dinner I'll put up my findings in character. Hope everyone's comfy at my place wink.gif
Grey
One thing I'd like to get as far as gear goes is some spray bottles with amonia in it. Just in case we get shot, we need to spray down the blood so it can't be traced back to us.
TinkerGnome
Don't let the mage get shot and he can handle any blood splatters. Sterilize 5 smile.gif Anyway, Mojo should have 5 Force 3 watchers swirling around him, so he's going to head off for some astral investigation of the area, provided no one objects. Mainly, I want to know what kind of guards are around, whether or not there are wards, and whether or not there are mages around. Hospitals have a background count of 1, so most mages wouldn't like to hang around there if they can help it, so that might be a big help to us.
Elfie
That works for me. I found out what i could on the Matrix, now any additional legwork should probably be done tonight (in game), since our time window is small. I don't know how much overwatch I could provide here...I wouldn't want to cut the PA's calling for security because it IS a public hospital, the PA's might be necessary. The only thing I could really do is loop the cameras and maybe doorlocks/elevators.

What do you want to do on the Astral when you get to the hospital? Not looking for specifics, just a big picture so I can understand where you're going with this. Are you going to patrol the outside and just try to look in his window? Do you want to go in the hospital on the Astral and patrol it inside? Etc.

-- Dash --
TinkerGnome
First he'll try to find the window and look inside, inspecting the area for wards. Then he'll go inside the window and check out the guards on the other side of the door. That done, he'll do a scan of the place, looking for any kind of magical alarms or wards hanging around that he should be aware of. He will also take the time to assense Gio and Sophia to get some info on them. Then he'll hurry back "home" and dismiss his watcher horde.
Dashifen
Sounds good. I'll go post a reply on the IC thread getting you up to the point where a perception test was necessary. Then I'll let you reply to me about what you want to do as a result.

FYI: Mojo's Perception (4) Test = 10 2 1 1
Dashifen
Mojo's Assensing of Gio [TN 4]: 5, 3, 3, 1
Mojo's Assensing of Sophia [TN 4]: 11, 4, 4, 3

TinkerGnome, I'll let you describe how you "wake up" and tell the others about what you learned.

Elfie
Just in case you were wondering, all I'm taking with me is my Electronics toolkit, and the Browning MaxPower (QD Conc holster, regular ammo). Since this is just a factfinding mission (and a public hospital), I don't think we'll be hitting much resistance (I hope)

Oh, and I got to throw a little more poker humor into my post, I love playing with words smile.gif
Dashifen
St. Luke's Hospital (Exterior) just for those who are interested. God bless those who came up with cut-and-paste for doing all of the windows! Gio's room is marked in blue. There is a small bridge from the fourth floor of the building with the emergency rooms to the main hospital building. The little boxes on top are roof access. Didn't have time to put in the fancy buttons this time, just did the image.

Since Lex got his hands on the blueprints, I'll work up some internal shots real quick and dirty like. Enough to let you guys know the layout but probably nothing too detailed. I'll have those up shortly so that you can use them in your planning.

Grey
As far as equipment that Akuma has in his backpack:

Micro-transceiver (6)
Broadcast Encryption (6)
Broadcast Decryption (6)
Subvocal Mic
Micro-camcorder
Bug scanner (6)
Jammer (6)
White Noise Generator (6)
Hand Held MAD (6)
Electronics Toolkit
Glasscutters (6)
Suction Cup

None of these things are real big, so if there is still room in his backpack for his climbing gear, he'll bring that as well.
Dashifen
I would say you could definately get rope and a harness in the backpack yet, but it would be pretty chunky. Probably not a full grapple gun, but you could hide that elsewhere if you're creative. I never got your gear file (not too worried about it as long as you tell me what you're taking) so I don't know what climbing gear Akuma has.

-- Dash --
Grey
Can we go ahead and cut scene to us driving into the area around the hospitol?
Dashifen
Yeah, that was my plan, too. I wanted to give some time and see if anyone else had anything to do at Lex's after the request to synch comm signals.

Rowan's Etiquette(4) Test: 3, 3, 3 <-- so close --- playing it that Timmy will help you out but it isn't going to be immediate.

-- Dash --
TinkerGnome
While the recon is going on, Mojo'll go back to his junior enchanting kit and work on some ritual materials. Seeing as how he's not what you'd call an infiltrator, it's probably for the best.
Dashifen
If anyone wants to post-date something to after leaving Lex's but before arriving at the hospital, just post it and let me know when it happens. But, in the interests of moving forward a little today before we're mostly out of touch over the weekend, I'm going to get you guys up to the hospital and then we'll see what happens. Also, Elfie, make a post to the OOC thread and let me know if you've had a chance to study the blueprints with everyone or if you all decided to reconnoiter in person on the outside and then study the inside.

@TinkerGnome
Works for me ... I'll edit my IC post to make it look like you're not there wink.gif Anything specific that you're working on?

Oh, and I altered my .sig to put links to the threads in it. May help navigation between the two.

-- Dash --
Elfie
I saw your shockwave of the outside of the hospital if that's what you mean. Even though I have a copy of the interior blueprints it looks to me like we're doing outside area recon. Hopefully we'll all get back to my place and set up a plan using the blueprints I received.
TinkerGnome
QUOTE (Dashifen)

Yeah, he's talismongering 10 units of refined herbal materials into 5,000 nuyen.gif worth of ritual materials wink.gif

Of course, that'll take way longer than the game, so he's doing it in one unit intervals. The short of it is that it'll be a Talismongering (4) test with 5 dice, taking 24 hours/successes to generate 500 nuyen.gif worth of ritual materials wink.gif

With good luck, he'll be able to get a force 1 elemental for the extraction itself (stellar luck would be force 2, but I'm not holding my breath).
Kurb
I didn't get to post yesterday so I just made my post to catch up with everyone else...hope that's alright seeing nobody waited for Alice before they left! frown.gif
Dashifen
Yeah that's fine. I figured that everyone was going along and then TinkerGnome said mojo was not, but I figured Alice was going to go.

Talismongering(4): [B]15 07 04{/B] 03 03
Three sucesses, divided into 24 hours of work means you have eight hours of work in front of you.

Timeline so far:

8:00 - 8:30 or so -- meet with Alessandro
8:30 - 9:00 getting to Lex's house
9:00 - 9:10 Arriving at Lex's place, getting the info from the Matrix, chit-chat, etc.
9:30 or so -- leaving for the hospital

So, if you started the process when you got home probably between 9:30 and 10:00, it would be finished by 6am. Is this the kind of thing that you need to watch and work on the whole time? If so, you're up all night wink.gif
TinkerGnome
It's not worth it to be up all night working on it wink.gif He'll get 6 hours of sleep and do the rest of the work when he gets a chance. If it's not done during the game, it's not a problem wink.gif
Elfie
Alice, do you have comm gear? I don't quite understand your post about rolling down the window to hear me, because I thought I said that over comm question.gif
TinkerGnome
I was under the impression that you guys were doing a quick recon of the area before the next morning. If you're planning to do some serious recon, then you might want the mage to go along with you. I had completely different feel from previous posts, though, which is why he excluded himself from the recon.
Grey
Yeah, actually, Akuma would have asked Mojo to come along, even if he isn't good at sneaking around. He could just wait in the car, but at least he would be there if shit hits the fan.
Grey
Give me a perception check for looking the place over, keeping in mind all my cyber stuff to help out.
TinkerGnome
Sure, then we'll retcon that to be the case. Editing last post now.
Dashifen
Okay, so Mojo is in the car during the recon, and I did a quick perception test for him on the astral (6 4 3 3, 2 successes) and he doesn't see anything really important. Noted that on the IC thread.

Akuma notices cameras on the street lights on the parking lot . From your vantage point, however, you cant' really see any real defenses on the doors or in the windows. The side doors, you notice, don't have handles. They must be for exit only. (Perception(2): 11 08 05 03 02 02, all successess).

Grey
What about up on the roof? It was clear too?

And what are the chances of you putting together a quick map of the area around the hospitol? I'm having a hard time picturing it all in my head...
Dashifen
The roof is clear at the moment. There is an illuminated flag pole displaying the UCAS flag and a small hut with a door for roof access.

I'll get to work on the map, too. I'll proabably have it up tomorrow evening (I have to be at the college football game tomorrow during the day as I'm a member of the marching band, therefore I'll be out of touch until around 6:00 tomorrow).

Kurb
You're right that Alice has no comm equipment, so I edited the post and she is just sitting in the car with her shotgun in her hand. If shit hits the fan and she notices, she'll be ready to react.
TinkerGnome
Mojo has a low rated tranciever, and since he's in the car, we should be fine smile.gif

I thought that Seattle was part of Salish-Shide which IIRC is seperate from the UCAS...sorry just something that was clicking in my mind and I want to get cleared up. I could be wrong, but I did check the map. Then again I don't have the Seattle sourcebook, so I don't know for sure. I do have a pic of the Salish flag if you want...

@Mojo, how did you get to the hospital? I thought you were embarrassed about your scooter...you could always ride with Alice, since she is waiting in the car, or come join her if you parked further away.
Grey
I think the plan was he was going to catch a ride in the car, but I could be wrong.
TinkerGnome
That's what appears to have happened, yes. He's sitting in Alice's car as part of the backup team. Though right now he's offering to drop a levitate and improved invisibility on someone and send 'em up to the roof.

Nah. I usually consider myself to be running my games on the East Coast rather than in Seattle because I know the lay of the land better (grew up here). Therefore, the flag is the UCAS flag because we're about 50 miles north of Philadelphia right now.
-- Dash --
TinkerGnome
Seattle is part of the UCAS. It's just a looooong way from the rest of the UCAS.
Elfie
This is some serious recon we're doing here. Are you guys planning on getting Gio now?? If so I'll zip back to my place and hack in and we can move.

Dash, Did those blueprints I obtained have outdoor schematics (like fire escapes, etc) that would allow me to find the best way onto the roof?) I'm consulting these schematics as Akuma's asking me questions about the building.
Dashifen
Nope... just a floor plan. I'm going to be drawing those floor plans up tonight and tomorrow morning, scanning them and posting them.

Things just got more interesting for me as I was asked to fill in for a part in a play where the other actor was thrown in jail (no lie). The opening is Saturday. I have to see if I can get off from work and stuff first, but I wanted to let you guys know that I'll be stretched pretty thin for a while if I take this part. I'll still have to go to work from 8 until noon and that is when I usually got caught up anyway. Just giving you all fair warning. I won't leave you hanging, but I wanted to let you all know.

Cool deal. Glad to get that outta the way. I'm sure you mentioned that but as you know I had a rough week there so I wasn't quite 100%. Alright good to go. Glad to have Mojo with Alice...hmm..... biggrin.gif
