The question Mojo isn't asking IC is "Each?" in relation to the nuyen figure. I've NEVER had a run where the Johnson offered x nuyen and someone didn't ask "Each?". Even when it was something like 100,000
Elfie
Oct 21 2003, 04:33 AM
@ Dash:
I have a bunch of questions for the Johnson, but I don't want to ask them all at once, and make it seem like I'm badgering him. I don't want to just give a definitive Yes until I'm satisfied (dont worry, I'm not going to ask him a million questions, just a few).
And Mojo, I was thinking of the same question. I'll probably work that in (and try to get some more money depending on his answers).
Dashifen
Oct 21 2003, 01:49 PM
Go ahead and ask away. I just don't guarantee that he won't remain vague until after a yes from all.
He's got a yes from Rowan and Alice, implied from Mojo, and nothing from Akuma (yet).
Elfie
Oct 21 2003, 01:57 PM
I just dont want to say yes until I know more about what's going on, I understand about being vague, and I want to try to get more than 10,000 each since we're facing both mafia AND Star. I'm not a whiz at negotiations OOC, but I don't think it's a good idea to haggle price AFTER you agree to do something.
TinkerGnome
Oct 21 2003, 02:00 PM
Might as well try, since most of the team's already agreed
If it's 10,000 each, I won't sweat it. If it's 10,000 total, I might reconsider
Oh, and see about getting some of that up front
Elfie
Oct 21 2003, 02:02 PM
Will do, about the up front. We need supply money, don't we?
I think everyone's agreed except me. I'm not going to drag this out, just one more question then I'll agree.

In D&D (the RPGA, anyway) the questions are always:
- Can you teleport us there?
- Do you have any magic items that could help us?
- What's the mission instigator's alignment?
In SR, they seem to be:
- X ? Is that each?
- Can we get that up-front?
- Who else is going to be trying to get Y?
- What's the Johnson look like on the astral?
Elfie
Oct 21 2003, 03:33 PM
I'll ask about each, and I'll try to get some up front. Astral...now that's your field, not mine
We pretty much know who's going to be trying to get Greg...the other family...and mebbe the Star...which I don't like, but eh.
This is just me being paranoid, but where's Jimmy? I thought we'd be meeting him. I don't know this Rosseli guy (do I, Dash?).
Edited: for the afterthought
Edited again because I misunderstood your Y

Are you showing visible sign of agitation or just empathic ones?
@fogg
You've heard of and spoken with Giancarlo before. In fact, he was the one who sent you the message that you either worked for the Family or for the worms, so to speak. The last time you heard from him was about 6 month ago, right after the Family paid for your suborbital ticket from Seattle to Philadelphia and got you your place in Allentown.
As for the Carolettos, you have heard of them before, and word on the street is that they came to power about three months ago after going through an all out street war with the previous Family controlling the NYC area. Despite having lower numbers than the other Family, the Carolettos were known to have hired some outside muscle to take care of their rivals. If they're making a push into this area, work could pick up.... You don't know anything specific about Sophia Caroletto.
Rolls (for the curious):
About Giancarlo: no roll necessary, you've spoken with him before
About the Carolettos (TN4): 11 (
), 4, 4
About Sophia specifically (TN6): 3, 1, 1

Empathic. He is pretty cold on the outside for the most part (being a cybered out assassin will do that to ya). But to someone with the social skills to see it, they may be able to tell from small signs (breathing a bit shallow or heavy, change in pupal size, minor nervious ticks, things like that).

Would a Mafia Controlled Establishments knowledge roll (4 dice) tell me anything of how far in these Carolettos have pushed in this area?
@Grey: After the meet's over, I'd like to ask you about your nervousness, IC.
@Dash: Would I have to make any rolls to notice Akuma's actions? I'm trying to play the Gambling card angle with that, being a player teaches you to look for subtle changes in opponents.

Question for the group...someone does have a car, right?
Dashifen
Oct 22 2003, 08:47 PM
@Elfie
Yeah, you notice Akuma's reactions [Ettiquette(8 ): 9, 5, 4, 4, 3, 1)]. You notice that his brow is tight, as if he's pulling his eyebrows down in concentration and he's licking his lips as well.
Your roll on Mafia Controlled Establishments tells you that you haven't heard of anything owned and operated by the Carolettos in this area. But your knowledge doesn't really extend as far north as Scranton. If they're moves are as recent as Alessandro claims, word may not have gotten around as to what they're grabbing for. [Mafia Controlled Establishments(6): 5, 5, 3, 3]

It looks like Alice might have one... a Saab Dynamit 778 TI, according to the IC thread...so Kurb, when you're around, let us know if we can use your car for moving our cargo
Kurb
Oct 23 2003, 03:41 AM
It's cargo/load is 3/45. It's a sports car, not the best for carrying loads of cargo, but if we could "aquire" a vehicle, she'd be more then happy to drive. You can load as many "supplies" as needed for the run and she won't care.
Elfie
Oct 23 2003, 04:12 AM
Well all we'd really need is you (driver) and we'd throw Gio in the passenger seat. The rest of us have bikes, it looks like. Worse comes to worst, we could throw him in the trunk (he's mafia, he knows what it's like
)

FYI: So far I've been rolling the dice, and I wanted to know if you all wanted me to keep doing that. The other way to do it is for you guys to roll the dice and post the roll here in the OOC thread. This works espcially well when you know the TN of the roll (like Mojo's Sterilize cast which has a constant TN of 4). I'd say we can mix-and-match and if you guys post a roll I'll use it, but if you don't, I'll roll and post the results to save time.
So, TinkerGnome, you can roll the dice for your spell, because I'm at work w/out my books and I don't know the exact text of the Sterilize spell. Plus, I didn't now what Force you wanted. Just roll your spellcast, drain, and then the removal of your signature.

Elfie
Oct 23 2003, 02:07 PM
I'm a fan of rolling my own dice, but if it speeds the game along, I don't mind having the dice rolled for me. If I know I'll be making a dice roll, I'll just post the results here. Even if I don't, I'd probably do somethign like:
Negotiations(6 dice)? If so, x,x,x,x,x,x.
Dashifen
Oct 23 2003, 02:11 PM
Yeah, that's pretty much what I mean. If it's the kind of skill that you don't have a pool to deal with, then the TN really doesn't matter, you can roll the skill without knowing the TN. In combat or with spells and such, you might want to know the TN prior to rolling so that you can apply the appropriate pool dice to it. In those cases, just ask and I'll get you the information.

While I'm thinking about it, did you factor in my Good Rep II into the negotiations (or does that edge effect negotiations at all?)
TinkerGnome
Oct 23 2003, 02:41 PM
Two things. Number 1, when I'm at work I use
this webpage for die rolls.
Secondly, the rolls:
Sterilize force 5, TN 4, Drain 3M, 10 dice to cast, 8 dice to resist drain
Casting: 3,3,3,3,1,5,4,14,9,4 for 5 successes
Drain: 2,3,5,2,3,1,1,9 for 4 successes and no drain
Astral erasure for force 5 spell, TN 5, Drain 5L, 4 dice to perform, drain irrelevant
Casting: 2,5,8,2 for 2 successes
Drain: ignored via trauma dampner
So, the astral signature of the spell lingers for 3 hours, which isn't great, but it's not one of Mojo's better abilities (and is actually an above average roll). Sterilize was 5 successes, though I sincerely hope that Mojo's paranoia isn't warranted.
The watcher should dissipate soon (I don't know what he rolled for summoning it) and the signature on it goes with it, I think.

Shit. No ... hrm ... Let's see what happens
Lex Negotiations (TN 3): 07 03 03 07 11 04 (6 successes
)
Alessandro Negotiations (TN 4): 05 04 01 11 04 (4 successes
)
Ironically, this would result in a 10% raise from 10,000 to 11,000. Since he's offered 11,500 (1.5k now, 10k later) in the IC I'll leave things as they are.

For me I'd rather you just roll my dice. I'm an honest person, but if I get a really crappy role it might be difficult for me to be completely truthful. This way I know that my rolls are accurate. I mean can you really trust anybody to be completely truthful with you on their rolls? Oh and I'm sorta drunk (my grandads funeral was today), so if I'm making NO SENSE allow me to apologize ahead of time. And I hope I don't make to big a fool of myself.

That's fine. If you want me to roll the dice for you, then just post your actions, and I'll post the rolls over here. If you guys roll, it just saves a little time for me, but I generally use the computer to do it anyway so it doesn't really take that much time!
@All
Okay, tried to get the timeline back in order on IC thread. The only thing I railroaded there was that Alessandro left first as Mojo was casting the Sterlize spell. Then Alice, then Rowan. Lex and Akuma are still in the room together, though it's only been about a second or two.

Skipping ahead is fine with me, too. Last couple of days have been a cleaning-centric nightmare
I don't have my character sheet on me, right now, but I'm fairly sure that Mojo has a Dodge Scoot. A fact that embarasses him to no end
Elfie
Oct 26 2003, 03:17 PM
what you have to do is put nitros on the scoot and bungee cord it to a rapier. have the rapier go really fast and slingshot the scoot forward. nothing funnier than a screaming mage flying by at 300kph on a scooter.
I think Dash would have an easier time describing my apartment. I'm not a very descriptive writer. All I could say is think computer stuff intermingled with gambling memorabilia. A print of Dogs playing poker on the wall, green felt topped coffee table, a pair of antique derringers on the wall, that kind of stuff. There's also the decker side of Lex, with a room exploding with wires, monitors, etc, off in the back. It's a middle class apartment, so it's kinda comfy, but definitely not posh.
TinkerGnome
Oct 26 2003, 03:40 PM
