I can get that running for you. Let me work on it for another day or so. That way I can set it up so that you can enter characters and stuff on your own without needing me. Send me an email at goldfeder(at)usermail.com and let me know what you want as a username and password. I'll hook you up with an account.
Glad to see you like it. Eventually I'm going to start putting together databases for the actual characters so I can have their character sheets online in the database. After that I want to add a place to list sustained spells, bioware stress, etc.
I might be moving the site from the university machines that are somewhat inaccessable to me from home to a web hosting site called a2webhosting. They're offering a package for $5 a month with a domain registration for $20 for the year that looks pretty nice for what I need. So, if it moves, I'll let you know.
Also, on matters concerning the game, I made an image for the front of Our Lady of the Bottle as well as a general overview of the area. You can find them
here and
here. When you look at the second one (the birds-eye view of the area, the green boxes are slum housing -- probably mostly squatters. The blue box is the ruin of what was once a building. It looks like it collapsed a while ago and has since been pillaged for building materials.

I was discussing it with a friend of mine and I'm thinking of making it more robust that I had originally intended and perhaps making it available to all GMs on or off the boards. I need more development time for that. Send me an email with a username and password for the system and I'll add you, too.

Inside of Our Lady of the BottleThere's a basic outline of the bar. Let me know if everyone is sitting at the table in the top right corner of the stage/poker area or if others have placed themselves throughout the bar. Also, let me know if anyone wants more information about the people in the bar or anything.

Akuma is going to get a poker game going with Lex. They'll be at the table in the poker area that is farthest to the north-west (Sohpia and Gio are in the north-east, right?). Other than that, Akuma is waiting on the Big Daddy to show up.
Dashifen
Feb 4 2004, 06:52 PM
That's where I put them, yeah, so if you and Lex set up a game on the north-west table, then you're essentially across the room from them.
Since TinkerGnome hasn't been saying too much recently, I'll but him at a table in the front room so that he's not obviously a member of the group but still can see everyone and the entire bar as well.
I'll make an IC post for the arrivle of Don Caroletto shortly -- got some work to take care of first.

Sorry Elfie and Grey, I was debating running the poker game, but I decided it would just slow things up for everyone else. Could have been interesting, though.
like I said on the IC thread, I'm going to keep the conversation between the Don, Sophia and Gio running for a bit -- I'm finally getting to divulge some of the background story -- but you guys should all jump in if there's anything you want to do. For now, unless TinkerGnome comes back, if you want Mojo to do anything, just post it and I'll do it. Consider him on autopilot until TinkerGnome gets back from travelling.

I've had a big problem with it too. What I do to try and work around it is use Word to type up my post, then copy and paste. If you get the SQL error when trying to make the post, his refresh and you have a 50-50 shot of the post going through. If that doesn't work, you can always copy and paste again.

phelious fogg

She drank one beer so far, this one she is just going to nurse untill the meet is over, she probably wont even finish it. Figuring its a bar in a barrens area, its probabbly watered down. But effectively a beer and a half should be all that she will drink.

Because of the nature of the Armor spell, being that it requires only one success, I figured you'd want to save spell pool for the drain rolls and avoid having to start this off with drain, so:
Armor Dad(F: 6, TN: 6): 10 05 04 03 02 02 #D:6 TN:6 HR:10 S:1
Drian(5M): 08 05 05 05 05 04 03 03 02 02 02 02 #D:12 TN:5 HR:8 S:5
Armor Self(F: 6, TN: 6 +2 from sustained spell): 09 05 04 04 03 02 02 01 #D:10 TN:8 HR:11 S:1
Drain(7M): 19 16 09 04 04 04 04 03 03 02 02 02 #D:12 TN:7 HR:19 S:3
D'oh! Light drain from the second armor spell. Not too shabby though

It should only be +1 for focused concentration
Dashifen
Feb 10 2004, 04:36 PM
Fair enough -- I must have an earlier version of Sophia's sheet. didn't have focused concentration on it. I had Perceptive, Photographic Memory, Friends in High Places, Impulsive, and Vindictive as your E/Fs. Which are correct and which are wrong?
Ironically, it doesn't change things because you still would have had the 1 success on the second cast as well as the 3 successes on the drain roll. But, it does reduce your TN modification in general so thanks for letting me know.

Dashifen
Feb 10 2004, 05:52 PM
Blitz: no problem.
Grey: working on that as we speak, actually. Also, there are no doorways to the poker area, it's an old stage so it's just raised off the main floor by about three feet.. The best you could do for cover is to tip over a table, assuming that's where you were going with you IC post. Sorry for that confusion.
Grey
Feb 10 2004, 05:54 PM
oh ok, I didn't quite grasp that. alright, I'll change me post to tipping over a table.
Grey
Feb 10 2004, 06:10 PM
Ok, now there is a problem. Akuma is pretty much going with the idea that Alice is now dead. Akuma has the vindictive flaw. This creates a big problem. Can I spend a point of karma to not start blasting away at Gio's family and give Sophia a chance to talk everything out?
I want to do this, because I can also see things going a different direction if things cool down. Akuma will likely end up blaming Medea for the death, because she is the one behind the scenes fucking everything up. To get his revenge, he could go right to the source of the problems.
Dashifen
Feb 10 2004, 06:18 PM
I would allow this.
But, if you would prefer, you can just say that Akuma views Medea as the true culprit (as you mentioned) and therefore your vindictive flaw would be fulfilled by tracking her down and not by shooting at the Rosseli's
Also, the
current placement of all peoples in Our Lady of the Bottle (which could shortly become Our Lady of the Broken Bottle).
Edit: Shit, I forgot Caroletto's Major Domo. Consider that he jumped under the table that the Don, Sophia and Gio were sitting at at the moment the Rosseli's entered the room.
I'll have a large sit. rep. post coming up shortly.

Dashifen
Feb 10 2004, 06:31 PM
Right: As to that, my plan is this:
You all roll initiative and declare actions. Then, I'll post a huge response that details one phase. Then, we'll adjust initiatives and repeat (ad nauseum). I've tried it RL but it got too confusing to remember who did what when and to whom, but with a record of the declared actions and initiatives on the boards, I think I'll be able to keep things straight that way.
Plus, it'll allow me to be all cinematic and what not with the combat descriptions
Elfie
Feb 10 2004, 07:53 PM
woah woah, we're not in combat yet, right? I mean, Akuma tipped over our card table, but that's the only thing that's happened so far. It almost seems out of place since everyone's just standing there at the moment. At least that's what I got out of it
Grey
Feb 10 2004, 07:55 PM
As far as I know we aren't. Akuma tipped the table over before the door opened, but seeing who it is, he is standing down for now, waiting to see what happens.
Dash: I totally agree about Akuma wanting to get revenge from Medea, the only reason I mentioned him maybe needing to do something right away is that I didn't know how you wanted the flaw to work.

I haven't had a time to get to anything other than a reply to some of the things in the IC thread and that picture. Stupid actually having things to do at work today.
Akuma: I see no reason to spend your karma point to avoid shooting the Rosselis ... so far ... plus, on the metagaming level, I was just tired of having an NPC so I got rid of her in-game rather than out-of-game.

Hey Dash, just as an idea... When all this is over, as I've said in the past, I would love to keep this game going if you are up for it. How about (if all the characters stick together) you have someone take over playing Gio for you (I'm sure Shadow would be up for the job). That way you can keep the game going and not have to keep worrying about NPCs that act like PCs.

That was actually something I had in mind because Shadow wanted in on this game just after the "close" on characters happened. It'll depend, somewhat, on how this game ends, though. I want to see who's left and who's interested and where I can logically go next with the storyline or if we just finish this job and then next one involves a different plot. But, I don't want to make plans too much in advance.

Edit: Actually, pre-registration is down, but like the site says, pre-registration gets you nothing except maybe a cookie. Also, everyone should go to the site and then click the schedule. There's only one group here that plays Shadowrun. The rest of the students play mostly DnD. Sophomore year I was in a game a night. That's 7 different DnD games. Of course, that burnt me out and pretty much turned me off of DnD from then on
@P Fogg: It's a damn good guess, I was discussing this with a roomate (not Dash) at lunch earlier and was saying someone's gotta still be listening in to both sides if the Roselli's showed up at our out of the way bar so fast. It's almost obvious, but of course that obviousness could just be an evil DM thing
