Goz - Friday, Aug 17th - 9030- near NOPS HQ

No, I think you've got enough on your plate without having to worry about a sixteen year old's paternity cases. I'll see you when I see you Goz, but not at the station. IA will be watching this one . I'd put money on that.

Goz shakes his head, chuckling a bit. "You really should reign that boy in, Allen. If the case goes south, gimme a call. I'll be in touch." Cutting off the feed, he watches for a car driving up to the station, and smooths his hair down, adjusting his suit to a better fit. Sliding his gun from his jacket, he tucks it into a thick leather holster, buckles it, and tucks it down into the back compartment on his bike. Similarly, he removes his forearm blades, and adds them to the compartment, along with various other little illegalities that he has about his person. He double checks to make sure he is going in clean, and sets his retired armed-forces documentation to public, referencing a few bits of his less common 'ware and his legal acquisitions.

Goz - Friday, Aug 17th - 9035- near NOPS HQ

Goz stands as the black car pulls to a stop. A rather obvious Kozlowski soldier emerges from the passenger seat and gets the rear door.

A shapely leg proceeds the dark haired elven woman who steps out of the vehicle. A few of the officers outside seem to know who she is. One waves.
Lady Door
Lucky stands and regards the officers standing outside. She smiles flirtatiously at the one that waves, then casts another glance around the parking area.
Spotting the troll approaching from the side, Lucky scans his PAN. Noting the same number as the one that sent the texts earlier, she walks towards him.

Good morning. I'm Lucky Santangelo. Would you mind telling me what in the hell is going on? Her voice is like ice.
Galedeep
Pulling his White Noise Generator out of his pocket once more, Goz nods to the woman as she steps out of her vehicle, matching her to a picture displayed on his commlink. "Ma'am. That's a good question, but we need to move quickly to minimize damage, and we have limited time. I've done some work for your family before, and received word from a concerned cousin that you may be in some trouble. After checking with the local police force, I am afraid to say their suspicions proved accurate."

Moving forward, he continued speaking at a fast pace. "You have been implicated in a number of incidents, and have been under surveillance for an indeterminate period of time. I know of the charges, but as to what evidence they may or may not have in conjunction with said charges I do not know; rest assured, I will find out. Now, I'm going to need you to walk boldly through those doors, and present yourself with as much poise as you can possibly manage. We're going to admit you to the legal system, attempting to establish a sign of good will, without admitting your guilt, so feel free to seem a bit frustrated, as if you see no real reason to be here, but are following a stuffy lawyers advice. Before we continue, however, I will need to inform you of a few more things."

Glancing around, he moves closer, dropping his voice and holding his generator up near his face. "I will be taking your place in certain family ventures while you are unavailable, including organization and follow-through of a certain operation that you recently came into information about. I will need any and all information pertaining to said venture, and as detailed information as possible about all partners you may have had involved in any capacity. We need to move quickly."

Lowering his generator, he adds, "Did you bring any funds you wish to put towards your defense?" before switching it off, tucking it into his jacket, and standing with his hands folded at his waist before the woman.

He's a large troll, though not in the slightest brutish looking, appearing almost like an overlarge human, save for the large curled ram-horns and extruding lower jaw, with tusks in full evidence. He is dressed smartly in business attire, and he's slim for a troll.
Lady Door
Lucky regards him for a full minute, completely stopped. She then nods.
I feel that you and I can do business.
In a move reminiscent of her days spent picking pockets Lucky moves the roll of cash from her pocket to his.
That should get things started. There's more where it came from. As for the information on the venture you mentioned, I'll be happy to discuss that with you once I've made bail. But for now, let's get through the preliminaries, shall we?

Lucky turns and heads through the doors.
Galedeep
Following Lucky into the station, he passes her, moving to the main desk and forcefully putting his hand down.

"Good morning. I represent Lucky Santangelo. She wishes to turn herself in and cooperate in whatever manner necessary. I would also request we move forward as quickly as possible; my client is in a position of responsibility, and her livelihood requires her personal attention at her place of business."

Lucky/Goz = Goz - Friday, Aug 17th - 9040- NOPS HQ

The desk clerk has an officer escort Lucky and Goz into one of the small semi-interrogation rooms. There is a simple desk, a quartet of chairs (as well as afolded troll scaled chair) , and a pot of coffee. The blinds are drawn immediately by the officer, who waits in the room. Nodding as if he's listening to someone speaking , he soon looks up.

Lt Harvey will be with you shortly.

[ Spoiler ]
Galedeep
Goz looked at his client, and reached up to his commlink, removing it and switching it off. He nodded to her to do the same. "We should have this handled in no time, Miss Lucky," he said in a patronizing voice, patting her on the hand. Hopefully, she would play along. From this point on, it was a game of getting as much information from the opposition as possible, while only dropping misleading hints, or downright lies, for them to work with. That man in the room with them was no doubt studying their every move, and relaying the information to this Lt. Harvey.

"As long as we're open and forthright, you have nothing to fear. Just try to remember what you can, and let them know if your memory just isn't that clear on other details." he added, his face completely blank. "Coffee?" he added, making sure to use his olfactory scanner to check the liquid. It's not unheard of for unscrupulous interrogators to add in truth serums to liquids during interrogation, if they think they can get away with it.

Lady Door
Lucky lets him pat her hand and smiles at him gratefully. Thank you. Black, please. Taking her commlink out, she shuts it off. She then hands it to Goz. She stays quiet for the most part, occasionally pretending to sip at her coffee.
Like Goz, she's more then a little wary of what may be brewing in a coffee pot sitting in an interrogation room.
fistandantilus4.0
After a good ten minute wait, the door finally opens again. Two people walk in to the room; a human woman, and a male ork. The woman is wearing borwn slacks and a white button up with her sleeves rolled up. A badge and a handgun sit on iether side of her belt. She's somewhere in her 30's, wth shoulder length brown hair. The controlled anger on her face proclaims her Harvey just as much as her name tag does.

The ork man has at least a foot and a half on her. He's wearing dark gray slacks, a white button up, with dark suspenders of all things. His dark hair is combed back., making it almost blend with his chocolate skin. His expression is more neutral, making him a still intimidating looking "good cop."

Harvey speaks first. I take it this is you lawyer? Nice of you to come down and turn your self in. I won't bother asking who tipped you off.

Your client's being charged with a pretty hefty list of crimes. The least of which is arson, conspiracy, and possession of controlled substances. Nerve gases. While I'm at it, I'm looking to get you pinned for those 20 or so men you murdered a few months ago. You'll go to the chair for that once I get it to stick.

But I won't mind holding on to you on lesser charges until I can.

So where' s the gun Lucky? I know you've been picked up on weapon's charges before. We've got men headed to you club and apartment with search warrants. They'll find whatever you've got stashed. You shot a man in the throat, and I'm going to prove it. That's attempted murder. By the time you get out, even you will be old and gray.

Galedeep

“Ma’am, my client is willing to cooperate to a certain extent, but will not violate her civil rights. While she is perfectly willing to show good faith, appear at your headquarters, submit to some questioning and possibly detention, she has no intention of running, and every intention of fighting these charges. Therefore, as her legal counsel, I have suggested she stay silent until we know the extent of the allegations against her.

Sitting in the troll chair, Goz towers several feet above the seated woman to his left; he comes up eye to eye with the woman, and just a bit shorter than the standing male ork.
“Frankly, we aren’t here to plead a case; merely to find out the extent of the allegations, indicate our willingness to cooperate provided it does not impact my clients rights, and assure you that we will appear in court once formal charges are ready to be brought. Until then, I have a few questions of my own, before we answer any more of yours.

Looking the woman in the eye, he is completely uncowed. He is obviously used to this sort of banter, and the display the two police officers are attempting to put on.
“First, attempting to frighten my client into a false confession is beneath you. The good cop, bad cop routine went out last century. Please, have a seat, and let us discuss this as adults, not a bad Trideo stereotype. You too, sir. Coffee?

Without standing, he reaches one long arm out to bring the coffee pot to the table, topping off his and Lucky’s barely touched drinks before offering to pour some for the other two. He doesn’t, however, grab cups, so if they want a drink, they have to walk to the table and get them themselves. There’s never a time too early to show dominance in these situations.

“It is the law that you may hold my client up to 72 hours for interrogation and or simple detainment, depending on the severity of her crimes. Now, the evidence you apparently have links her to several situations that are most unfortunate, the least fortunate of which seems to indicate that she attempted to murder a fellow metahuman. However, that doesn’t follow; if, as you indicate, she has access to nerve gases, weapons, a complete willingness to commit arson, involvement in a conspiracy to commit…well, how does it follow she would use Stick and Shock ammunition? My client is fully permitted to own a firearm, with the proper licenses, and Stick and Shock ammunition is, beyond any doubt, non-lethal. Trumped up attempted murder charges are no way to start things off.

Taking a sip from his coffee, he pauses just long enough to indicate he may be finished, and let one of the others start talking, before cutting them off.
“Furthermore, this entire charade is damaging to my clients reputation and business. If these charges do not stick in a court of law, then she will be perfectly within her rights to sue for slander, among other things. So let’s play it straight, shall we? You want her for mass murder. You can’t get her for that; you’ve as much as admitted that already. It won’t stick, and you know it. Similarly, the use of Stick and Shock ammunition in a legally owned firearm is not attempted murder. It is unfortunate self-defense, if anything. So what do you have? Not much, and even less when you take into account my client is an important local figure; this hits a trial of her peers, and your case ravels. So it’s in both of our best interests to keep it out of court.

Crossing his hands before him, he smiles politely.
“So, tell me…with what you have now, what do you want? A plea bargain may be possible. Likewise, services rendered to the community and a hefty fine would suit the situation. If you want to play hardball and insist on time served, perhaps we can come to some agreement about a suitable time and location to be served, and keep this out of the already overburdened and…notoriously crooked court systems? Frankly, if anything you suspected about my clients ties and connections were true, which I do no recognize as legitimate, then adjusting the result of an open hearing would hardly be out of her reach. What is your bottom line?

As Harvey winds up to let loose, the door opens again. A dwarf man in his 40s enters, wearing a crips charcol gray suit and dark blue tie. He extends his hand to Goz.

Good morning counselour, my name is Gavin Merrick, Assistant D.A. I'll make this brief for you and your client so that we can move on,

We have every intention of holding your client . We have evidence proving your client at the scene of an arson, proving that she used a nerve gas. We can prove that she was there. We can prove that she had accomplises.

This is what we have now. You want a deal, I suggest you make one now, because otherwise I will parade your client across the news, for all of her associates to wonder just how much she will sing to mitigate her sentence.

Minimum for a deal; she pleads guilty to arson, we bring 'Attempted Murder' down to Assault with a Deadly Weapon. She does two years, $300,000 in fines. Assault with a deadly is $100,000 easily in it's self. She goes directly in to custody.

Otherwise, we hit her with everything. We have enough to make the majority of the charges stick, and we'll go for maximum sentencing.

Galedeep
Goz nods curtly, shaking the mans hand. Listening to the man politely, Goz waits for him to finish before presenting his counter offer.

"Initial counter will be reducing Assault with a deadly weapon to simple assault, as she did not use lethal force, nor did she cause lasting harm to the man. We'll plead guilty to Arson, and possession of controlled substances. With the reduction from Assault with a deadly weapon to Simple assault, a similar reduction in fines from 300,000 to 200,000 would be applicable, but we'll waive that for a reduced sentence, with the possibility of parole. That should bring her term to just over 12 months, and provide immunity to further prosecution on these crimes. Is this agreeable?"
fistandantilus4.0
The two years stays, as that is the minimum time for felony arson. $250,000, Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The man is breathing through a tube. His throat was permanently damaged.

We'll drop the charges of chemical posssession and give her immunity to Conspiracy charges and cooperates by giving us a statement on the others involved.
Galedeep
"Reduce felony arson to vandalism charges with malicious intent. She will give a statement on all living associates the participated in the crimes she is charged for. Assault with a deadly weapon stands, drop charges of controlled substance possession, immunity to further prosecution stands, and reduce the fine to 200,000. Add in all further medical expenses for the man shot, and 5 months of probationary curfew after 15 months jail time, with the opportunity for parole after 6 months with good behavior."

Lucky/Goz = Friday Aug 17th 1000 - NOPS HQ

Of course

The A.D.A. motions for the officers to to follow him, and walks out of the room.

[ Spoiler ]
Lady Door
Lucky waits for a good minute after the A.D.A and the other officers leave the room. She then turns to Goz.
I will not break omerta.
Galedeep
Switching on his white noise generator once more, Goz smiled and leaned in to his clients ear, patting her comfortingly on the shoulder.
"Ma'am, it would do wonders to avoid such language in a room located at the NOPS headquarters, which is no doubt under surveillance,"
he said, still smiling gently.
"This negotiation is taking place in lawyer speak. You will be held to the letter of the agreement. I have worked for yours and similar families for a long time, and frankly, you are who I am concerned about, not any other hypothetical members of your group."

Pausing to let that sink in, he added, with a hint of realism touching his smile, "Besides which, you are being charged for Assault with a deadly weapon on a single man, and possibly Vandalism with malicious intent. That means that unless someone else pulled the trigger, you have to give no information on the man you shot or the circumstances surrounding it, and unless they wish to find someone to charge with vandalism, you also have to give no information on that count. If all else fails, anyone still 'living' that was an associate at the time can be relocated, given adequate warning. You must understand, normally, we would not be giving this much ground. However, I am negotiating blind here, with no prior knowledge of your actions or the circumstances surrounding those actions, and I have to at least sound like I'm willing to give them something."

Running a large, nailed hand through his hair, he ceases smiling.
"If you need to understand my reasoning, it is this; the fine can be dealt with. If you play your cards right, you walk out of here with six months in jail, the rest of your sentence served under probationary watch. We will have agreed to pay any further medical expenses for the man you shot, which, assuming he passes away in the near future, is nothing. You have agreed to testify in a very limited manner against people that, assuming you DO testify against them, will mean they automatically have to be charged with a slap on the wrist instead of potentially twenty murders. You will be doing them a favor, as they will get everything you will potentially be avoiding if they are charged with what they rightfully should be; it's sound legal advise. Dropping all controlled substance possession charges also has more benefit than it seems; as I understand it, you have a bit of a fondness for bliss, and various other items. Anything confiscated during their no doubt thorough search of your casino and apartment will not be held against you. You scan?"

Pausing, he adds, "Besides...last I heard from my family source, that little venture that you're getting charged on left a high body count on your krewe. Are any of them even left alive to testify against?" Switching off his generator, he motions for the D.A. and his men to return.

"If we are agreed, I'd like to settle this right away,"
he said, smiling pleasantly.

Negotiation test, using edge to reroll failures: 2, 2, 1, 3, 1, 3, 1, 3, 2, 5, 5, 5, 4, 6, 5, then 5, 2, 2, 6, 6, 1, 4, 4, 2, 2, for a total of 8 hits.

Lady Door
Before Goz can summon the A.D.A back into the office, Lucky places her hand on his arm, stopping him. She gestures towards the white noise generator once again. Once Goz turns it back on, she speaks.
I appreciate your concern and the promptness of your actions on my behalf. But, I feel that for us to continue to have a good working relationship, I need to make something very clear. Do not patronize me. I understand the situation I find myself in and I also understand the legal ramifications. I also understand your standing with certain members of my family... but you are not of the family. Whether or not these hypothetical colleagues can relocate is of no concern. The fact that I would speak of our business is. There will be no deals regarding information pertaining to anyone, hypothetical or not.
Regarding the krewe you mentioned... They are not "my" krewe. And as far as I know, they all met with an unfortunate end.
Plead the case how you can. I would rather keep this out of the headlines... but, keep in mind my stipulation. I will not negotiate this point... and you would do well not to suggest it again.

Lucky leans back in her chair and waits for what's to come.
Galedeep
Goz nodded, the set the generator back down on the table, turning to face Lucky fully. “Very well, ma’am. Understand, I am not trying to patronize you. I am merely trying to follow my instructions as best I can, and keep your jail time to a minimum. At this point, I am working with the knowledge that I passed on to you, and nothing more; this entire piece of negotiation is pure improvisation, and I am bluffing as much as not. If you cannot bend on that matter out of principle, I understand. I merely find that it places more constraints on an already difficult situation, and unless I find a loophole or something to give them, you could be put away for much longer than would be ideal.

He is clearly not upset by this turn of events, nor is he too puffed up to simply take what his client wishes, and work around it. Calmly, he thinks for a moment, before presenting an alternate approach.

“How much in the nature of liquid assets do you have available? What percentage of that is legally obtained and accounted for, and what is not? I will need to know who you worked with, the general situation, and where you are able to bend. Would you prefer more jail time, or higher fines? I will try to minimize the impact this will have on your career and legal standing, but we have very little to work with. Please, also give me some idea of your legal and illegal activities. I don’t need details, just an idea.]
Lady Door
I understand. Lucky pauses and lights a cigarette. Let me break things down for you then. The first thing you need to know is that the business that has me here today was a family operation, hence the silence. There were no outside assets.
Second, as far as my financial holdings are concerned, you need not be. I have liquid assets totaling over 800,000. My legal ventures include the 'Strike, and a Matrix-based adult entertainment venue. Both ventures net profit exceeds 150K on a quarterly basis.
As far as any dealings that may inhabit the shadier sides of the law, those profits generally net me anywhere from 50K - 75K monthly depending on expenses. Of course, there is the percentage that travels back up the pipeline.
Third, we do not have the time... nor do I have the inclination to inform you of previous business arrangements. Suffice it to say, that they have been "in-house".

Galedeep
“Very well. I will attempt to keep your jail time under two years, but I will give some leeway on the fine aspect. No speaking in any capacity about your activities, no liability for controlled substances, charged for Assault with a deadly weapon and preferably vandalism, though perhaps arson. We’ll see how it goes. Waving in the A.D.A., and sliding the generator back in his pocket, Goz smiles and presents his newest version of their bottom line.

“After a brief discussion, we have come to the conclusion that, in order to avoid any potentially dangerous reprisals to my client, we cannot agree to testify against any others involved in any capacity in the allegations. However, we can agree to pay the medical expenses of the man shot, increase the fine to, say, 325,000, and set aside certain funds for the improvement of civil property, in order to keep her covered against any liability in controlled substances or testimony. She will be charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Malicious Vandalism, and have a maximum jail sentence of two years, four months, with the option of early parole at six, eight, and twelve months, pending good behavior.
fistandantilus4.0
The Arson charge stands, along wit hthe Assault with a Deadly Weapon. If you can't give us testimony, you'd better think of something else, beacuse otherwise your client will face a judge, and there you've got no deal.

Galedeep
"I'll tell you what. Why don't you look at it this way." Goz stands, his massive form suddenly more evident than before. Though he is slim for a troll, he is still twice the size of anyone else in the room, and as he leans forward, his bony knuckles on the table, there is a squeal, and suddenly the table has eight nice, neat troll knuckle prints embedded in the surface. His massive head lowers down to face the A.D.A., and a smile that hints at a snarl crosses his face.

"I'll give you the arson charges, and the assault. The fines will stand, as will the medical bills. Jail time of two years, with the option of early parole on good behavior, at 12 and 18 months. In exchange, you will be given the chance to think about your career, where you live, and work, and where you're headed. You'll get a nice new shiny chance to not cross the wrong people, and you, ma'am," he added, turning his tusky smile on Lt. Harvey, "will get your career boost, without impeding further career improvement. You scan?"

[ Spoiler ]
fistandantilus4.0
The Assistant D.A. simply nods.

Fine. I'll have the papers written up in half an hour.

He turns and leaves the room.

Lt Harvey however glares icy death that promises retribution before she and her partner leave the room.
Galedeep
Goz stands still for a moment, staring off into space, before turning to face Lucky. “That move was perhaps ill advised, but it was that or take it to court, and frankly, you wouldn’t have walked away from that. We will discuss compensation at a later date, though I do have to warn you, it will be steep. I will do what I can to ease your transition to a holding facility, including speaking with anyone that may be able to arrange a friendly reception in prison. Now, there are family interests that require you to be about, so behave yourself while there, and get out early.

Once again flipping on his white noise generator, he sits down and looks at Lucky. “As to the other business…does Bennett know everything, or do you have some secrets you've kept? While your case will be followed from here on out, I will only be spearheading it. Having kept you from the worst case scenario, I know have to attend to your affairs while you're away. What can you give me? I know you've recently come into some sensitive information; I will need everything you've obtained, any plans you've made, and anyone you've contacted. I need everything."
Lady Door
Lucky just smiles at Goz as he talks, then nods. When he finishes she leans in close to speak.
Listen, I don't know who you are and I don't know who sent you... but, you ever talk down to me like that again and you and I will not do business again. Ever. Lucky's eyes go ice-hard for a moment but then she sits back and smiles, all gracious and charming once again.
Contact my assistant Maria when it comes time to submit your bill. She'll be able to relay it through the proper channels. As far as the other matter is concerned, speak with a contact of mine. Her name is J. I can give you her number. Tell her Lucky sent you. She might need persuading but she can get you the information you need.
Lucky activates her commlink and transfers the number to Goz's phone. She then initiates the data drop sequence. All the information from her personal commlink would drop into a virtual safe and then be deleted from her personal comms system. It was a brutal step but one, unfortunately, that was necessary. Lucky handed the commlink back to Goz.
Take this, trash it. I don't need it anymore. Oh, and by the way... I know this is outside of your normal purview but could you see to it that my dogs are cared for? They'll be at my residence. They're heavily cybered and not accustomed to strangers so you might want to get to them before the police do. Might end up charging me for something else. The command code is 'St. Christopher'. They'll respond to you after its been spoken. I will want them back in good condition. Find them a good home and charge me for the upkeep and your time spent. Lucky lights a cigarette, her hand trembling slightly as the weight of what is about to happen hits her. She exhales and rubs her temple lightly.
This is not what I planned. Not at all.
Galedeep
“It hardly ever is, Goz said bluntly. Standing, he spoke quickly, and a bit brusquely. “I will contact Maria. I will also contact someone to look after the animals. Switching on his commlink, he looks at the elven woman, noticing a slight tremble in her hand impassively. Slipping her commlink into his pocket, he smiled. “ “You have a temper, he said, offering no clues as to whether that was a good or bad thing. “And you’re loyal, almost to a fault. You’ll do well in prison, and get out early. There’s a knack to it, and I’m sure you’ll find your path. You have more and better friends than you know. Hopefully, we won’t ever have a need to do business again, once you walk free…however, should you ever require legal services, or general troubleshooting, feel free to contact me, should you so choose. He quickly asked for and received any and all information pertinent to accessing the dogs; how to go about entering the residence while avoiding setting off an alarm, for instance.

“I’ll be in touch, he said, moving towards the door. “Do you need anything else tended to?
Lady Door
What will happen with the plea deal? Shouldn't you be here to review the paperwork?
Lucky stares at the flat grey wall across from her. Her voice is flat, without emotion. The only sign of her agitation is the speed at which she takes long drags from the cigarette.
Galedeep
"It will go on as stated. I will review the specifics when they are finalized, and possibly draw it out a few more days or weeks arguing over wording, but the final result will be what was discussed. I'll be back intermittently, to ascertain your treatment. You will be looked after."
fistandantilus4.0
True to his word, the Assistant D.A. comes back with the paperwokr in hand. HeE had indeed had a plea bargain already set. The new alterations are in. He sets it down without a word.
Lady Door
With a ragged breath and a steady hand, Lucky signs her name. She smiles up at the A.D.A.
It looks like I'm all yours.
fistandantilus4.0
Lt Harvey is in the room as soon as the ink is on the paper, putting her hands behind her back, and clicking the cuffs in place.

Let's go missy. I've been waiting qutie some time to put these cuffs on you.

She leads Lucky out of the room.
Galedeep
"I need a copy of that," Goz stated, tapping his Hermes Ikon. "To take with me. Digital format."
Lady Door
Lucky can't help it. She smiles seductively at Lt. Garvey over her shoulder as she snaps the cuffs in place.
Why, Lt... I never would have guessed you for the type.
fistandantilus4.0
Gavin hands Goz a hard copy, and sends a digi-copi to him.

Harvey glances over at Goz, and seems to think better of what she was about to do.
Plenty of time for pimping your self when you're in the pen slitch. Hope you got enough of that cigarette. It'll be qutie a while 'til you have another.

Holding her by the wrists, she leads Lucky from the room to the holding cells.
Galedeep
Following Lucky and Lt. Harvey out of the room, Goz reaches out and taps Lt. Harvey on the shoulder. "Ma'am...Just a quick reminder. I am still her lawyer, and I do have, as many lawyers tend to do, a penchant for spreading drek around with a large shovel when someone tries to dump it on me or my clients. You watch your tongue, as I will be visiting my client on a regular basis, and any, I mean ANY, mentions of you or your cronies adversely treating my client based on prior prejudices, so help me, you'll be up to your neck in lawsuits, red tape, and God only knows what else. You've avoided one potentially dangerous mistake today. Don't make another just because you and my client are out of sight."

Sliding his shades out of his pocket, he slips them on, winking at Lucky before he does so. "Good day, ladies."

That said, he walks out.
Galedeep
Goz steps out of the station, his nerves on edge. That had not gone smoothly, but it had been handled quickly, and that counted for something. That Lt. Harvey was going to be trouble down the road, he could tell that much already.

Heading over to his bike, he started it up, wheeling it around and heading off towards the Lucky Strike. He was going to have to do what he could to get the information needed and get it to Harry.

As he drove, he quickly sent a call through to Harry.

Rayo - Thursday - 23:55 - Outside Razor Back

Rayo quickly starts running towards his van and gives Helga a wave.
This one! Go to back, you should fit fine! And don't scratch the roof!!
After Rayo is behind the wheel, the cars running and sidedoor of the van slams close, he flips the screen on that is actually a tintend window in sidedoor next to where Helga is sitteing, which shows Rayo's face from some hidden cam maybe inside the steering wheel.
Which way?!
As Helga's back is turned to the front of the car (which isn't really perfect or practical to this situation), he splits the screen and shows also what camera in the front bumber shows (even though this wouldn't help tracking the invisible spirit).

Follow the lightning

As she says it, the sky lights up as a bolt of lightning shoots down towards the ground. Ten seconds later, it flashes again. Helga smiles.

Galedeep
"Lucky is in custody. Plead deal kept her free from having to testify, and waived her liability in any and all controlled substance possession. She was charged with Assault with a Deadly weapon and Felony Arson, with a minimum two year sentence and 250,000 fine; she can get out on parole for good behavior starting at twelve months. I am currently headed to the Strike to obtain the information we need; after that, I'll find out what I need to find out about coordinating and following through with the rest of it."

Swerving to avoid a slow Americar in front of him, he gunned it towards the casino. "There's a Lt. Harvey, and an Assistant D.A. named Gavin that may need to be dealt with. Lt. Harvey has a serious prejudice against the family, and Lucky in particular, and is gunning to make a name of herself off of arresting a high-profile family member. The A.D.A. was likely just doing his job, but Lt. Harvey needs to be made an example of. Shall I leave it to the family, or would you like it taken care of on this end?"

Normally I would say we'll take care of it. But the leiutenant seems to have a special place in your heart, so it's all yours. Just take care of our other business first.
Galedeep
"Understood. She'll be dealt with in time. I'll be back in touch when I have made contact with this J, and gotten what I need from Lucky's assistant."

He continues to make his way towards the Lucky Strike, keeping to the speed limit, but making sure to take advantage of his smaller vehicles ability to scrape past full-sized automobiles.

When Goz arrives at the Strike, he finds a good dozen or so NOPS walking in and out of the casino. Cars are around the building, with men and women in uniform keeping the few morning employees back.

Goz moved towards what few employees are there, parking his bike several meters away and scanning the crowd. Still straddling his bike, he removes his helmet and states clearly to the group at large, "I'm looking for a Maria. Anyone here go by that name?"

There's a flicker in front of Goz, and an AR representation of a human woman in a business suit appears with a data pad in hand.

Good morning sir, I am Maria. How can I help you?
