It might help if we had some sort of visual aid; these non-visual descriptions are sort of confusing.

So, I gotta ask OOC, cause the IC thread jumped forward before everyone could reply... does everyone have a respirator? If not, you'd be wise to not go into the building and instead cover things outside. That or find a way to get to the second floor from the outside.

McQ- How close are the targets...I have one of the battletachs on.
Toturi and Eccs...im trying to work with you guys as a team, but you dont respond to my or my characters questions...and everyone started rushing in doing their own thing. If you have a plan, it would be nice to know. Ive been filling the OOC with "what do you guys want to dos" and whatnots and no one replies.
BishopMcQ
Mar 28 2005, 07:51 AM
Bastard--No one is currently "painting" the target and there isn't a visual contact so you're not sure where exactly the other team is. It is possible to launch a grenade up the stairwell to have it land on the third floor between the two rooms. The smoke will fill a large enough area to flood both rooms the landing, and flow down into the stairwell.
Team-- At this point I'm gonig to need initiative rolls so that we can get combat moving linearly rather than the round robin approach that has been happening until this point.
At the moment:
Kane is outside.
Bishop and Graves are downstairs.
Tigger and Helios are cresting the stairs to the third floor.
The rest of the team is in transit up the stairs.
Respirators I will presume are out and being worn by everyone who has one.

Ugh... sucking it up with initiative.
I didn't have message archiving turned on McQ, so I don't recall what you had me roll for Herne's initiative. If it's the same as mine...
Edana: 7
Herne: 10
BishopMcQ
Mar 29 2005, 05:16 AM

BishopMcQ

HMHVV--I'd have to double check the exact text, but my understanding is the +2 from neurostun gets factored in the same way wound modifiers do...
HMHVV Hunter
Mar 29 2005, 05:28 AM
p. 250, SR3:
"Even if he resists this (Stun Damage), he suffers disorientation for about an hour, adding +2 to all target numbers."
So if you're asking whether it reduces Initiative, it doesn't say so.

Using my two Simple Actions to take aim (should reduce the Target # by 2, if I understand the rules correctly). Aiming at the nearest society member.

Tiny: We're miraculously all together or pretty close to it.
EDIT: Oh, and I'm not not paying attention, just waiting for my initiative to roll around. Will probably spend a simple action not puking and depending on how things have gone, fire hammerheads at Ballefour's captor.. called shot or not is what I need to decide now.

HMHVV--You've got 2 bursts coming your way. 12 S base damage.
First burst has 8 successes. Second burst has 5.
Team--The 2 members of the Society that did not fire have "readied actions" to kill the hostages. In case the flavor text didn't clear explain the game mechanic.
HeySparky
Apr 1 2005, 12:09 AM
When it gets to me, I'm making a called shot with the hammerhead arrow to the gun of the guy holding Ballefour. Herne (holding his action until Initiative 7) is making a called shot to the gun of the guy with the other hostage. Burning my remaining 2 karma to make the shot. Whole attack is offense with matching dice from Combat pool. I'll roll when the action comes around.
Actually... if the strength of the bow would make a difference in how much the arrows could potentially move the barrels of the guns... I'll switch it up to Herne making the Ballefour shot rather than Edana... unless because of her Karma she has a better overall chance of making the shot at all.
Advice?

Yeah... but the intent of the action is to decrease the effect of their action. Make the bullets graze the heads rather than insta-kills. Do the mechanics not allow for that?
HMHVV Hunter
Apr 1 2005, 12:27 AM
I'm doing one dodge test and one soak here.
Target Number for Dodge test aganst 5-success burst: 9 (from what I understand of the rules)
Combat Pool dice for dodge test: 6
01 02 02 03 04 05
Karma re-roll (rerolling failures) (-1 Karma Pool):
01 03 03 04 04 11
Soak test (against 8-success burst): Body dice (4) + Combat Pool (3) (also got 4 points of ballistic armor to reduce the base damage to 8S)
01 01 03 04 05 05 08
If these bursts leave Helios in as bad shape as I think they will (i.e. dead), I'm using Hand of God (I've got 1 Karma Pool after accounting for the above re-roll and I-don't-know-how-many Good Karma, not that it'll matter if I do need to use it).

Not really. Maybe McQ will let you make a reaction test or something, but they would "have the drop on you", making their tests at a TN of 2 and yours at a TN 4.

For anyone who doesn't know what Freeze Foam is, basicly it is a foam that expands out and traps people inside it, not letting them move.
