Shadow- I'll post a response/ongoing intimidation while you're gone.

Sorry for the delay. It has been less than a stellar new year.
Give me some initiative tests, Erebus and Dragon only. Plus any other test like (un)armed combat, you might find useful.
WinterRat1

Shadow- Let me see if I understand, the guy sort of spasms in his chair, we can see his hands and feet the whole time, and suddenly he lunges out of the chair at Dragon, the handcuffs no longer attached to him. Do I have that correct?
The implication being that he just sort of slipped himself out of the handcuffs, since there’s no way he could’ve picked the locks on his hands unless both Dragon and Erebus failed their perception rolls miserably (and even more miserably for his feet). Is that right?
Initiative: 21
Unarmed Combat (using 6 combat pool): 11 09 07 07 05 05 05 05 04 02 01 01
Assuming Erebus is a ‘friend in melee’ for –1TN and no other modifiers, that translates to a TN of 3, and 9 successes. Otherwise it’s a TN of 4 and 8 successes.
Base Damage: See Below
Question: He has 9M physical thanks to his titanium bone lacing, but he’s also wearing hardliner gloves, which would make it a base 7M Stun (not counting the power increase due to bone lacing, in which case it would be 10M Stun). How are you going to rule on this? Is it a:
a) 9M Physical AND a 10M Stun
b) 9M Physical AND a 7M Stun
c) 9M Physical OR a 10M Stun
d) 10M Physical
I’m going to assume it’s obvious it couldn’t possibly be only a 7M Stun. If I failed my unarmed roll, let me know if I need a resistance test and resisting what power.
Oh, and I hope your 2006 starts looking up for you soon. 9 Days in, only 356 to go until 2007!

Your best guess would be that he dislocated his thumbs and slipped his hands out of the cuffs. It happened very quickly.

Wow tough one, my first thought would be to say B. (m physical and a 7M stun, but let me run it by the group in email. For now though we will assume it is B. Just waiting on Erebus.

Erebus Init
14 + 9 = 24 (not my best roll)
Engage in Unarmed combat 5 dice plus +1 Enhanced Art. + 2 combat pool.
01, 01, 01, 03, 04, 04, 05, 15
Look at it this way Dragon, with the bones in his hands all busted up it'll make for easier cutting.

Yes.
Erebus your up.

Shadow I think we're all waiting on you. Um, if you were waiting on what kind of damage I'm doing, I'm going with the 10M Stun.

Results for the unarmed combat (I'll say that Dragon and Erebus are close enough for Friends in Melee to come into play)
Mr. Suddenly Unopposable Thumbs rolls 4 Unarmed combat against Erebus: 3, 4, 11, 1. TN is 7 (4+1 for the enemy in melee+2 stun damage). Bad news for our would-be escape artist.
Rolling to soak: TN is 6-3 impact armor=3: rolling 10, 7, 5, 2. He gets 3 hits, but is out cold. Again.

Feb 9 2006, 04:18 AM
Ah geez Cedric, way to go ya jerk. You knocked him out before Dragon could unload about 3 missiles worth of frustration into this guy's face.
Oh well, that's what the torture part is for I guess.

*smacks head* Knew I was forgetting something: SR13, give me an (unaugmented if necessary) body roll. The good news is that you're not dead
The bad news is that we're past the time where a medkit and biotech skill or magical healing can be used.

Feb 14 2006, 04:39 PM
Not really, though you are going to need a real doctor to patch you up; this guy's not going to really be able to help you. You also won't heal in the meantime with that roll (TN is 6 for moderate wounds).
You can always do a karma re-roll if you don't want to see a doc for a bit (the success will divide the base time). Up to you, and you can always see a doctor later. Assuming no more rockets, that is.
WinterRat1
Feb 16 2006, 02:01 PM
BC - You waiting on us guys who are writing the torture scene here? Are we still up, is it your turn, or do you need a roll of some kind from us? Uncertain, cause any of the three is a legit possibility right now. Just let us know. Thanks!

It's actually my turn, sorry about that. Unless you want to try to question an passed out guy (I suppose with a high enough Torture roll you could scare him back awake

)
Also Bandit: feel free to chime in with
Virgil talking to the doc.

Sorry BC. I really meant to post Virgil talking to the Doc this morning, at the same time that I posted for Scapheap, but I was already running late and just did not have enough time. I will post in ASVW on my next coffee break today.
Thanks for the reminders.

Okay, hopefully we have started down the road of making Virgil useful again . . .for something other than a decoy.
BC: Is that a reference to 'Dire Straites' that I see in your location?
bclements
Feb 17 2006, 07:35 PM
Hey, being a decoy isn't bad, as long as you've got a lot of armor, and no-one is shooting missiles at you.
Oh, wait...
And yeah, I've been cycling thru 'Sultans of Swing'. Always did like that song. I'll have a post up for you this afternoon.
WR1 and
Cedric: you can post if you want (referencing the main OOC thread), but don't move up the time too much for a few days. Trying to get
Virgil sync'ed. Thumbalina isn't going to wake up for another half hour, so you've got that to play with as well.

hey bc,
lets see if I can get some other stuff done here too..
1. how far is the lone star impound that has Daedalus' stuff? is it out of range for his drones? (Daedalus has a signal amplifier giving him an effective range of 12 km minimum)
2. He will also want to send a message/email/phone call to Shifty (can I just post this as a voice mail message or something?)
cheers.
edit:
oh yeah, the stats are SR3 rules.. still workin on that SR4 conversion. are we all going to shift over together?
banditf50
Feb 21 2006, 11:45 AM
I believe that our goal is to shift all of the ASVW crew over to SR4 together. I know that I submitted Virgil and I am almost done reviewing Erebus. I believe that the character stats that SR13 sent me for Tenmou are a completed conversion as well.
Anyway . . .we'll all move over together, with any luck before the next time we are ambushed :-P

Ronin: The garage is at 1277 Stewart downtown; just a bit farther than 12 Km away by air. You'll probably need to get closer to downtown if you want to be able to get a read on the building.
Also, go ahead with that conversation if you want. Bandit: I'll get back to your conversation this afternoon.

nm the phone call, Shifty is not a night person.
bandit: true... but maybe it can be like that simpsons episode where Mr. Burns has so many diseases they all can't fit through the door.. ... yeah.. perhaps not.
WinterRat1
Feb 22 2006, 01:36 PM
Even if we were so lucky that they couldn't all fit through the door, someone (probably multiple someones) would just take a rocket launcher and blow open a new door or three.

oy... and yes Icarus is hovering high above the building in order to monitor the aforementioned "all possible routes" of approach. (exact height.. depends on the sensor range.. which I don't have handy just yet..)

wow guess grammer goes out the window when massive paranoia sets in..
and I was curious as to what exactly that thing is..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermatome_%28...28instrument%29for those that don't know and don't wanna look it up, its a surgical instrument used to cut thin sheets of skin for use as skin grafts.
Dunno if
Dragon would know this precise use, but... that probably doesn't matter too much.
bclements
Mar 11 2006, 12:58 AM
Yeah, that thing can get pretty wicked, though I've never seen it used on a living person (everyone I've seen it used on was already dead). From the guys I used to work with, people are normally put under general anesthesia when used on the living.
The one that Erebus now has is a variation on a Brown dermatome (electrically powered). It works surprisingly like a pneumatic wood planer in normal operation. And it can cut down to the dermas in a single pass; 2 or 3 would take a normal arm down to the bone on the thickest setting.
