The Plant Spirit, with the two figures inside not threatening the team will go back outside. It gets 6 hits this time to pass through the barrier. Neither of the two spirits inside have attacked each other directly (melee) for the past pass, so it's up to you if they are still engaging one another in combat.

Yep, and this run is costing me quite a bit so far... those bound spirits' services aren't free.

Yep. Gardner does have a commlink broadcasting a horizon id. But then there is also a horizon hacker doing overwatch on the drones waiting to see if Needle tries to hack one again. And he can tell the difference between a giant holding a stolen commlink and the head of security for tonights event.

The free attack of interception is given when trying to pass by a creature not just when leaving melee. Also remember the ward your spirit will have to push through bit again to leave.

Hey, I don't know if they are running completely autonomous or not.

Also, I did make the check for my spirit to get out. 6 hits, if you didn't notice it before.

It's okay, I remember my decorum and resist the urge to stomp on Mr. Whites head smile.gif and say "Shift it Whitey!" smile.gif

That said, I think Acson is going to be about as green as Silas is by the time we hit the ground, as I'll be recounting exactly how I planned to wingsuit down with him attached as a plan B
and that he should be enjoying this almost leisurely ride down a very safe rope.

That's if he can even hear me ... he's confuzzled right ?

Sorry, I read your first post right after i woke up and somehow missed that you mentioned 6 hits.

Well, the air spirit will attack the plant spirit, it gets...7 hits as the free attack on the plant spirit.

The ward rolls for shit only getting 2 hits. So the plant spirit walks on through.

Considering Mr. White's 'skill' at climbing, him shifting it would likely end up with him falling off the building. lol

And yeah, Acson is still confused to the point of having less than 0 dice to roll for perception. I'd let the confusion fail at this point, but he's got no skill in climbing either. So I'm just going to leave it going for now so that he's completely compliant for you guys.

well let's just consider his options here a moment ?

he's hanging on a rope approx 150 metres above pavement whilst physically attached to a blathering Orc who seems obsessed with something called "Sammiches!" and who keeps fingering the release straps on all his gear while day dreaming about flying free from it all ....

his choices are decidedly slim biggrin.gif .... though he could "get off and walk" smile.gif

He is a spellcaster. He could also call up an air spirit of his own to take him away from all of you, that is if he weren't suffering the hefty Confusion penalty.

Eclipse can start moving downwards again. So far you've gone down 22m out of 120 to the bottom. I'm only requiring 1 climbing check per combat turn, but if you'd like to speed up your descent with another roll I'll let each hit increase your distance travelled this pass by 1m.

My commlink is back online, and I'm at/on the bus. Well...

Free Action: Message to team. "Let's get this show on the road!"
Simple Action: Get behind the wheel.
Simple Action: Start setting a pilot route to the crash zone, near the former Seattle Metroplex Reformatory, in the Redmond Barrens. It's Needle's home turf (she lives in the bus, but it's normally parked near there so she can provide medical services to the squatters), so she's comfortable going there. If possible, I'd like to set the pilot to not activate immediately, instead waiting for a final command from me.

I got 12 hits on my resistance roll, so the attack bounces harmlessly off of the armor. (Nonconductivity is a blessing).

I'm getting out of here too. I still need clip onto the rope, so I guess I'm doing that this pass.

The Earth Spirit moves up behind Gardner (blocking the guard's view of him), and uses Binding on the guard (I'm assuming the air spirit isn't touching anything so I couldn't affect it) to stick him in place. Requires a Complex Action to get free.

How many Edge does your Plant Spirit have left?

Wow, impressive with your damage resistance roll. Considering you have non-conductivity modded armor and resisted all of the damage, I'll say you don't have the normal -2 disorientation penalty from electric attacks.

As far as your Earth Spirit goes. The guard is still on the inside of the building and shooting through an open door, meaning still inside the ward. If he ventures out onto the balcony then you can order the spirit to use it's binding power.

Next the two new drones arrive on the scene and open fire on the only target still there, Gardner. They will simply go full auto narrow, which doesn't give them much chance of hitting, but it at least gives them a chance of hurting a massive guy like Gardner.

Drone3 critically glitches and ends up jamming it's gun to the point where it will not be able to fire again until it gets to a shop.

Drone4 gets 2 hits. That's base 5P +9 from the full-auto narrow if it hits. So 14 + net hits.

Great luck with the Edge roll.

For the spirit's Edge, keep in mind that it's a long way down to the bottom of that rope. I'm going to be letting Mr.White go down at the same rate as the rest of you, but even with that it will still take you guys roughly 2 full combat turns to get to the bottom, then you need to run to the bus and get the hell out of here.

Oh and Binding says you bound the target to a surface they are touching. The drone isn't touching any surface. And it's rotors are part of it. Maybe if you could see the internal gears and what not that are moving, you could argue for binding them together. But you don't have LOS on that. You just have LOS on the drone as a whole.

I know Mr. White usually only gets 1 pass, but I'm giving you a chance to catch yourself and bring your descent back under control here. As long as you get 1 hit on the 2 dice you have, I'll allow you to bring your fall to a stop. 2 hits and you have yourself back under control and descending normally.

And you are welcome to use another point of Edge on this roll if you like.

That's the end of IP2. At the start of IP3. Eclipse can make another roll to speed up his descent. (I believe I'm still waiting for the one I offered for IP2). Every hit gets you down 1m faster.

Silas can also start rolling to try to speed up his descent, keeping in mind that people are below him. Alternatively, only 1 simple action is being used up on climbing. You could use your other simple action to shoot at a drone (suffering an additional -2 any checks you make for either climbing or shooting due to keeping yourself steady on the line).

It's not the worse use of edge if it is getting you out of here before the t-birds with heavy assault autocannons arrive.

You handily catch yourself and even speed up your controlled descent. Now that you have succeeded at least once this combat turn, I'm not going to require you to make another roll, though you can during the next pass if you want to speed yourself up a little (no chance of damage on that roll, it's just for extra hits to speed you up).

....though I have a visual of a Space Marine Land Speeder with an absolutely bizarre amalgamation of a heavy bolter, autocannon, and assault cannon slung underneath it now. I might have to make one now. *sigh*

Well, the Mission says they have two GMC Banshee thunderbirds incoming. It's the last step in the progression of turns. "The thunderbirds arrive and open fire from range with heavy weapons, obliterating everyone. Game over, man. Game over!"

But I'm sure delaying long enough to grab a few some paltry pieces of loot won't keep you here long enough for that....

Update:
Currently waiting on two climbing rolls from Eclipse in case he wants to speed up his descent on the rope. There's no injuries possible on these rolls, each hit will simply speed you up.

Silas can likewise make a roll to speed up his descent, and/or take a shot at the drone firing on Gardner. You'd be at -2 for keeping hold of Acson and -2 for keeping your own hold on the rope.

I guess Gardner can post up his actions for IP3 too. You're strapped into the rope and can make your first climbing check if you are heading down.

His turn will be followed by the lone drone's turn (the other drone is still there, but without a functional gun it can't really do much...well i guess it's rotors could cut the rope you're all hanging from, but that wouldn't make for a very fun game).

I've been panicking about that for some time .. but didn't want to post for fear of being accused of being GM's friend biggrin.gif or giving you ideas...

Acson doesn't appear to have anything in his pockets. Mr. White has his commlink already which was the only thing he had in them originally. He is carrying an old leather bag, but I think you'll need to be on the ground to search through that.

Currently Mr. White is 4 or 5 meters below you and actually managing to move a little faster than you are despite the unconventional and unprofessional way he seems to me going about it. You'd judge that it's pure luck that he hasn't accidentally unclipped himself and fallen to his death.

Oh and apparently, Acson is a bit of a thrill seeker too being a young guy fresh out of college, if he did have his senses about him, he'd likely be enjoying rappelling down the building at least.

I'm heading down, I don't see any reason to delay my descent.

Really, it's Gardner who should want to go the fastest though. The drone is following him over the side of the balcony as it fires another narrow full auto burst. Bullets fall all around Gardner with glass shattering to fall on everybody below him, but lucky for him the drone fails to get even 1 hit..

Still waiting on possible climbing rolls from Eclipse but I think people are spread out enough that it shouldn't matter just yet.

So we are about ready for CT6 to begin. What is the plant spirit going to be doing?

Eclipse is most deff. trying to go faster. wink.gif And so...

9d6.hits(5)=4, 9d6.hits(5)=2, 9d6.hits(5)=1

For IPs 2, 3, and 1 of the next CT to catch me up. That last one looks a bit less than 2...

4d6.hits(5)=1 for soaking, which would mean 3S? Eclipse is now wishing he brought some stimm patches with him (Like say, the dozen he owns in his med kit...). Any true resentment is quickly lost when he looks at TW, however.

Edit: I don't know how I got those numbers for soak. Bod 4 + Armor 2 = 6, so I'll roll 2 more. 2d6.hits(5)=0 Didn't help. Damn!

It kinda got glossed over, but TW would have introduced himself as Tundra Wolf. If nothing else, you need to be able to yell something other than "Hey, you! No, the other one! No, him!"
