Speaking of what direction we're going to move in, am I correct when I assume Shadowplanning is interminable when done by post?
Meanwhile, SG interrogated Breeze in line at the club, will someone fill me in as to what he's likely to have said about the group?
E.g. Target, Johnson, runs to date, notable successes, failures, fatalities.

From my perspective, not sure what Breeze would say:
The team rolled into a shadow clinic, overcame the guards with shock and awe, then had some issues when the drones were deployed but were ultimately victorious. Breeze was a "captive/patient/informant/fill in the blank" of the clinic. He picked the lock and took a bee-line for the door as soon as the smoke cleared and his gear was recovered.

what BishopMcQ said is basically what Breeze would have told you, though his story would have involved more...
"and then I heard this big BOOM!!!"............"then bam that lock was picked too"......"these blokes know how ta party!"

Happy Monday!
As usual add your weekly drip of 1 karma to the character sheet and I would like to add 2 more points for all the great roleplaying that happened over the last week (147 total). I appreciate the effort. I should be adding at least one of the two new characters this week possibly two. I will keep you informed. Let me know if you have any questions or need something from me - throwing up a post.

SG is a gear whore, so he's always up for some shop-and-grab, but presumably we'd rather move the plot along, no?
We get 2,500¥¥ along with our weekly karma, right?

Breeze has a basic out of the box Erika Elite with Iris Orb OS.
No programs or mods at this point.

Strangeglove there is no stipend along with the karma.
A milk run would be a great idea if players are looking for more funds to play with - I also think doing a non-critical job with the new characters is not a bad way to shake the kinks out of the group and see how they work together. That being said - this thread is largely driven by you all so if you decide you would rather do runs tied to the main story arc then I will bump things along.

Strangeglove has a Battle Buddy Basic (all 5s).
The only programs he has are what he just stole from that thug, so it's on his to-do list to mug a hacker or suit.
Buddha:
Sounds good, Strangeglove loves robberies.
Suggestions, in rough order of tactical relevance:
1. Guns: You can never have enough grenade launchers, but knocking over a National Guard Armory is hardly a "milk run."
2. Computers & hardware: I just upped the Electronics skill group, and have discovered the joys of the B&E gear section, and look to acquire most of it. See also: no programs. Further, I'm not sure how good our TacNet is, but maybe we could steal a +1.
3. Cars: SG has four vehicles, and is looking for more. You have a problem with that?
Given problems with guns (difficult) and cars (unnecessary), computers and gear is probably the sweet spot.
Shadowplan: Steal a van and back it through the front door of a Fry's.
Better shadowplan: Steal a van, hack the loading dock of a Fry's, peacefully carry away majority of Fry's inventory.

Here's my scorecard for the group:

Hamagen/Breeze - Human Punk - Pistols + B&E
Notsoevildm/Eklipse - Nightcrawler Drow adept

NPCs:
Widget - Johnson? - Rigger & drones?

Looks pretty good. for some reason I thouht Ayo was male. But then you can never be sure with shifters and Eklipse certainly never got close enough to find out as Ayo had a bad habit of shooting people in the face.

Looks good to me, too. I should have added that most of Zerone's foci have Christian elements, like a silver cross and the Icthys fish. He's a Christian theurge mage (but more of the
Godspell hippie Christian persuasion without the telltale hippie clothes, and not the fire and brimstone divisive type).

Just as an FYI to our new players, Zerone Rhomicron is an adult male elf, but with all the worldly experience of a three-year-old. That's why he really doesn't understand insinuations, double entendres, or how to act in club scenes.

Strangeglove's clothing is a suit of armor that has been the target of the spell that changes objects shape. I'm not sure if that is evident to spellcasters.

Strangeglove--Anyone that touches it would probably notice that instead of cotton/polyester/etc, it is tightly woven ballistic fibers. The clothes probably also wouldn't bend and flex the way a t-shirt would for example. It's up to Buddha how noticeable it is at a glance. Sep 2 2012, 05:40 PM
So, anyone that wants transportation just drop me a note hear, and I'll let you know what shows up. Each of the vehicles has an upgraded Pilot, System, and Response, so they're fairly capable of driving themselves if you don't have the skills or desire. The big push is to try and keep people off public transportation or foot-transportation. I Tim everyone's probably carrying stuff that would get them at least weird looks and notability if people realized, and some scale right up to immediate arrest.
Hamagen

Sep 4 2012, 03:36 PM
Bishop: Initial marking is just tactical eye-blinks and finger twitches, but as soon as Breeze responds it quickly escalates into elbowing, pointing, leering, and bravado. So no, not subtle.
Fenris: Are we talking up-armored crime cars, or just get-around-town vehicles?
I've got a couple vehicles, but nothing I'd want to drive while dancing with a vulcan cannon.

Happy Tuesday all!
Hope you all had a great long weekend - BBQ here with pool time so relaxing for us. Take your weekly drip of 1 karma for the week bringing the total to 148. Ok I want to get the milk run going so please toss out your vote here for Zuzane or Temple please and I am going to tally them tomorrow morning then away we will go. I am trying to find a way to prevent the bog down that happens in threads around legwork (including mine) with BishopMcQ (by with I mean with an ambush post this AM) so hopefully we will keep moving along. I have the green light from one of the two new players to introduce their character this week. I am just waiting to hear back from the other so I should be able to include them on the milk run.

Strangeglove, the car I think I'd be putting you and
Breeze in has 20, with a Body of 10. To be clear, I don't want to dance with any miniguns or assault cannons either, but that's pretty much the best you're going to get, aside from dodging the fire in the first place. Which the car can also do. Probably better than you can

I was talking with a fellow GM and I want to try something a little different.
Legwork:
So I'd like to do the legwork as a three week window. On September 24th, we start the next piece. If the team wraps up legwork faster than that, we can go sooner.
How we'll do it is any of the players can toss out pieces of information that they are looking for, questions etc. Week one will be the primary legwork round, with week two handling secondary questions that come from the information.
People can choose to roll, which for Data Searches can be a lot of rolling, or I will take an average number of hits based on your pool.
Thoughts, comments, criticisms?

Ok I have the green light from the new players, with their addition I am officially declaring this thread full. If we lose people then I will revisit the issue but I think this is enough and I want to make sure I can juggle these many balls (yes I think of you all as my balls).

New people please post and say hi! Also I would like you to throw up a "day in the life" style post in the IC thread. Something to capture the flavor of your character and his/her life for the others to read. Thanks!
Everyone else - say hi to the new meat and remember, make them walk in first!

Sep 5 2012, 03:21 PM
Data Searches (Taking an Average because I don't want to roll all of them):
Zuzane--Trafficked-human, freelancer, security firm, why is she naked, and is she an adept?
---Known Associates--Facial recognition on any of the Magic Group if I can find info on the attack, are they still around and on Z's good/bad side
---Any recent buyers?
---Enemies, bounties, etc
Location--Crime in the area, police response, floorplans, corporate ownership, power consumption levels
---Depending on who owns the warehouse--do they own other property in the metroplex?
---Nearby cafes, businesses
---Is there a visible node, cover business, etc
Cypher will try to be subtle about the searches, not posting on Shadowboards, spoofing access between search terms and having the Agents on their standard scan and redirect. He will be working from the safehouse for the initial work.

Hi Guys, Lain here, I know some of you from tabletop I think. Others I havent had a chance to meet in person yet. Im pretty excited to try this pbp concept its the first time I have tried it so be patient with me please.
Here is a little intro to my character:
Day in the Life:
Looking around the room with eyes as cold and blue as midwinter dawn It was as if he were weighing people in his mind and there was no sign on his face of what the scales told him. The man is dressed in a heavy obviously armored jacket, t-shirt and jeans, and appears to be searching for someone. Not finding it he steps out of the club, he pulls his jacket tight as if he isnt used to the cool temperatures hops on his Suzuki and heads out. Stepping into his apartment his eyes gloss over the mess all over the floor, lightly touching the cement blocks he practices hand to hand combat on. With a heavy sigh, Jon pulls the twin Ares out of the concealed holsters and drops them next to the Alpha w/underbarrel grenade Launcher. Jon steps into the bathroom takes out his contacts, looking into the mirror at his slitted iris, and his reflection in his eyes, he wonders why he is in Seattle. Crawling into bed, he looks at a picture of him and a well-dressed woman at a function. With a smile Jon falls asleep the picture dropping from his hand to the ground.

Greetings and Salutations! I'll be playing Q and though I'm new to Shadowrun and pbp, I'm quite interested in both.
Did anyone else expect Lain to be a 14 year old technomancer?
Day in the Life:
. An incessant poking roused him to the sight of his dismal apartment, the dawn's light barely filtering in past the heavy shades over the windows. He opened an AR window to shut off the alarm and then cursed softly as it refused, informing him that he wasn't out of bed. He rolled off his lumpy mattress into the frigid air of his apartment with a shiver. Breakfast was the normal uninspired soy it was everyday. Finally it was time for the one worthwhile part of the morning.
. He opened the doors of the small closet, bowing reverently to the shrine inside. He refilled the water and salt, spruced up the life like, though false, Sakaki Tate, and changed out the purified synthahol and rice, both too expensive for him to partake of. Satisfied, he sat back and opened his mind to the AR filter, allowing it to show him the shrine in the grand splendor it deserved.
. Grand and venerable, just as he always remembered it, the ancient hand carved shrine stood before him, guarded by fierce dog spirits and warded with a grand shimenawa. All across the shrine were strips of paper naming and dedicated to every kami venerated by his house, including those he'd met or worshiped after his exile. Preeminently among this new set stood a much larger one honoring to a spirit named A; a new type of kami to be sure, but especially powerful in this modern age.
. After his prayers he picked up his commlink, donned his work clothes, and then his face. Looking in the mirror, he made sure it was perfect, for this was not a day to be sloppy. Finally ready, Q walked out the door, prepared to meet some dangerous new work friends.
And Umaro, thanks for the character archetypes you wrote up. They're really helpful.

Hamagen, it is most definitely troll-modded.
Buddha72, a quick note - All cyberware and gear except for the and vehicles are intentionally set to Signal rating 1 and slaved to my primary comlink.
All subscriptions to my vehicles and gear are Encrypted (R6).
The vehicles will keep one AccessID for accessing their garages, and will immediately spoof a different, random AccessID upon leaving their garages each morning, unless they're actively being contacted by someone has some authority (GridGuide, Knight Errant, Lone Star, etc).
All vehicles are slaved to my commlink unless I'm out of contact, at which point they'll peacefully return to their individual garages and await further orders.
The vehicles I'm assigning to people I'll unslave (still encrypted links), and allow team members to connect for basic navigation and to be able to take control if they need to, with instructions to drive themselves where directed by team members unless someone directly takes over control.
