I feel like Widget is playing the "too crazy to mess with" card. Which is generally followed by the "Not my problem" and "we need backup" cards. We may want to scoot soonest... Right after I kick Grandma Evil down the stairs for experimenting on me.

So, my first reaction is to have Zerone bug out and jump in the van, and tell the fire spirit to help the stragglers escape. Is that cool?

Okay, so Zerone decided to take some sage advice from Kunu of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall":

"When life hands you lemons, just say fuck the lemons and bail."

I think I have enough actions to grab the kit, run to the van (as only a pale, asthmatic elf can do), and then give Amara a command.

As you can see I'm back but still struggling under the load of things to do here at home to catch up for the week away but will post tonight or tomorrow at the latest. Had a great vacation along the OR coast - awesome time for all parties involved.

It had previously been mentioned OOC for me to blow up the lab.

You could try all sorts of different routes with that - a Chemistry roll would help you figure out a way to make something explosive or a Hardware to see about using a machine near by to blow up or overload or an Industrial Mechanic roll to use the actual lab structure as a doomsday device. I am open to working with any reasonable suggestion.

Team what is your plan and is anyone going to tell Cypher to blow the place?

Buddha--From Chemistry and Hardware, are we looking at Rounds, Minutes, or Hours on the timeline? I'm guessing we have Rounds to work, so anything outside of that scale would be moot. (At least, Cypher wouldn't be hanging around to do it more than that. If we have a martyr lined up, I'll talk them through it.)

If someone mentions it around Amara, she'll probably tell you that Zerone's last request was for her to slag the joint.

Fat Man's plan would be to let the guy who just jumped down from the ceiling go unless anyone else stops him, ask his shen to give Cypher a lift down, and then head to the van. He's mostly unhurt but a few people really got a number done on them by the lightning ball and gas, so Fat Man will try to cover the more injured people on the way out/carry them to the van and throw them in.

Fat Man/UmaroVI - go ahead and post something IC please then Twist you're up.

And remember all you can speak on other people's actions so feel free to answer each other and NPCs in the IC thread. smile.gif

9d6.hits(5)=2 to gauge if Cypher thinks he can torch it in a few seconds and run. (I presume that I can hear the sirens and crashes with the open door and hatch) If with that level of roll, he'd thinks it would take a few minutes, I'm not hanging around to do it.

Due to some real life intrusions, I'm having to drop most of my games. I realize this isn't quite the best spot for me to drop, so I'm sorry f it puts anyone in a lurch. It's been a fun game; I'm sorry I have to drop.

From the last initiative posting, it looks like that ends our round. If we are staying in combat, here's my roll: 7d6.hits(5)=1 for an Initiative of 8, 1 IP.

If it's just jump and run time, Cypher is going to grab his gear and jump down the hole. (Hoping the magic panda will grab me, otherwise roll with it and run for the van.)

Fyndhal--Sorry to see you go, if life clears up let Buddha know. He's generally good about letting players back in who bow out gracefully.

Rolling initiative for Amara and Zerone

Amara:
(Force(6) x 2) + 3 = 15d6 for 6 hits.

Zerone:
Reaction(3) + Intuition(3) + Increased Reflexes(2) = 8d6 for 4 hits.

Amara: Init 21, IP 2

Zerone: Init 12, IP 3

Also, Zerone is not a medic, but the R6 medkit gives him a 10d6 dice pool to toss at it (basically, I know how to peel a bandaid and the medkit tells me where to put it). I'm guessing Buddha can have Kat do much better, but if you have a street doc friend, he might be a better bet. nyahnyah.gif

Happy Tuesday all! I hope everyone had a great 3 day weekend. Don't forget to add a weekly drop of 1 karma to your sheet.

Ok I am going to drop us out of initiative right now and I'll throw up an IC post with you all returning to a safe house location to decide where to go from there. Everyone add the following for concluding the run:

2 (for surviving)
4 (you fulfilled the mission objectives of trashing the lab, having Widget verify it's done, collecting right hands which I did with an NPC this time since it was awhile since the run started, and rescuing 1 volunteer)
2 (for challenge/threat level)
2 (roleplaying - I feel like everyone did a great job staying in character)

Total: 10

Money: 5k plus 10k plus 5k for right hands plus 15k in stolen goods

Total: 35k to be split amongst the runners - speaking of which can I get a roll call/sound off to see who's still here?

I have a new player who wants to join - he has a gun bunny, muscle guy with combat medic thrown in. He's played in my games before though all tabletop till now (Bill for my players that have done the tabletop thing with me before) so if there are no objections I was going to start writing him into the thread. Let me know.

Ok looking over Kat Doktor he has 22 dice to throw at First Aid with an automatic 3 success bought from Cypher's pool to bring the total to 25 dice. Feel free to post his roll for your character and don't forget the healing modifiers on page 252 of the main SR book.

BishopMcQ is absolutely correct - if and when things clear up Fyndhal feel free to let me know and we can see about getting you back in the game. Sorry to see you go but totally understandable and thanks for letting me know.

Eklipse checking in.

Healing checks:
First Aid 25 - crappy conditions 2 - adept 2 = 21d6.hits(5)=7 - 5 boxes physical damage healed (only had 3) so back in action.
First Aid 25 - crappy conditions 2 - adept 2 = 21d6.hits(5)=4 - 2 boxes stun damage
Bod 4 + Will 3 = 7d6.hits(5)=2, 7d6.hits(5)=1, 7d6.hits(5)=2, 7d6.hits(5)=3, 7d6.hits(5)=1, 7d6.hits(5)=2 - takes 4-5 hours to get rid of stun damage depending on whether Kat can heal both physical and stun damage.

I have to admit that I have not been keeping up with karma awards. Can anyone give me the current total? I promise to keep better track in the future.

Before I post, are we still in the van fleeing the scene?

I just threw up an IC post leaving the characters (for the most part) by themselves in the garage. Take a quick read and post away.

@ Bishop: Cool, that's definitely better than I can do. I just bought the skill because I thought it would be a good idea.

@ Buddha: Awesome. I forget the rules using karma in this thread. Is there any training time?

@ Notsoevildm: I think we're at 95 karma total, including the original 24 karma award. We've been at it for 51 weeks, received a 10 BP bonus for sticking with the game during some real life stuff, and then just received 10 BP for a mission complete. smile.gif

I'm going to try and keep it loose for now regarding training times with the understanding that skills grow in increments. You pick up a new skill at 1 or 2 some time goes by then 3 or 4. I am trying to avoid the insta-skill at 5 overnight.

Cool. I was thinking about spells, attributes and initiation. Maybe bumping willpower from 4 to 5, picking up a new spell or two and then doing initiation. Zerone's mentor spirit is a Sun-based one, so I'm wondering which nasty ordeal Follower would choose for him to endure. nyahnyah.gif

Going with 95 total karma unless Buddha says different.

Couple of questions:

1. Is this the same garage as the one we left from? Otherwise I think Eklipse has a long walk to recover his bike.
2. What happened to the lady Eklipse rescued/kidnapped from the container. Did she get a bullet in the brain and her hand chopped off or is she still with us?

I think JxJxA you might be confusing my game with someone else's. I went back and checked my threads and I wasn't the one that offered 1 point of karma for every question you answered from the character history/question thing in SR - I think that was Larry's table top game.

I would go with the 71 karma point total at this point.

Eklipse - you are in fact in the same garage though you assume from all the driving around Widget was killing time until the the mess kind of blew over at the shipyard. The woman is still with you alive but unconscious.

After scrubbing up, Cypher will go help out and get a bite to eat. If I can borrow a couple of screwdrivers, I want to check out my gear and make sure nothing was tampered with physically (Bombs, RFID tags, etc) before turning any of it on. My Hardware pool would let me buy 3 Hits if needed.

Presuming no issues, run the NLJD over my stuff to double check for tags. Then I'll run a software diagnostic on my link to verify it's clean.

After that, I need to figure who the team is working for, why I was rescued, and try to find a spot on their team (unless they secretly want to kill me).

Making an English test for Zerone:
Logic(4) + English(5) = 9d6 for 2 hits. I probably don't have to roll it, but it's fun for me (especially if he glitches). He's a clone with 2 years' worth of time learning English, so it's definitely not his strongest point. ;-p

After that, I'll let you know what I'm planning on purchasing via karma. I'm getting over a sinus infection, so it's a little hard to think and post eloquently right now. However, I'm probably going to at least invest in a respirator/gas mask as well. Asthma + Toxic Gas = No Fun for Zerone.

So far, I think I'm initiating (individual, no ordeal) for 13 karma and choosing centering(chanting psalms) as my metamagic. Then I'm bumping my magic from 6 to 7 for 35 karma. From prior purchases and stuff, I've got 11 karma left. I'm probably going to choose a pair of spells (unless I can find an affordable sustaining focus... nyahnyah.gif).

Anyone want me to pick up a health spell? I'm pretty much spec'd for combat (Sun mentor spirit gives a +2 to combat spells and a +2 for summoning fire spirits which are my faith's fighting spirit of choice), but I'm willing to plunk down the karma for it if it keeps us alive. smile.gif

Sorry I've been out for a bit - things got a bit busy but I am back! And to a flurry of stuff!

JxJxA: Fat Man has a bunch of health spells, so it might make sense to go for something different.

Buddha/Bill: Joining is fine, since we've had a fair amount of player attrition.

I need to spend that karma indifferent.gif I've been lazy about that.

Unless Eklipse indicates he doesn't want Fat Man's help or something like that, Fat Man is going to Mind Probe the prisoner at force 5.

Mind Probe 15d6=7 hits, capped at 5 by force.
Drain Resist 13d6=4 hits, no drain.

In addition to whatever Eklipse requests, Fat Man would like to briefly investigate whether or not she is a horrible person.

Ayo's basically going to take his toys and go home wink.gif I'll take my cut and wait for the call. I'm going to rest up for a couple of days and try to heal up the damage, and then get back into the training and try to regain the confidence of his mentor.

Healing rolls: Body x2 for healing (6d6.hits(5)=3)

Another day to finish healing, going to spend the rest of the time practicing to provide a final justification for some karma purchases.
