Calling shot to increase damage (+4) Aim, Fire, Move. Walking, so I'll take that modifier.

Agility (7) + Pistols (6) + Specialization(2) + Reflex Recorder(1) + Aim (1) + TacNet(2) +Smartgun Link(2) - Walking(1) - Called Shot(4) (16d6.hits(5)=7) oh, minus the last 2 dice for cover provided by the grappling spirit/Fat Man (according to GM), but they weren't successes, so no change.

So, DV 11P / AP +5 vs. impact (but they have no impact) + net successes.

I'll start walking in the direction of the area currently defined as 'east'.

Not sure I'm following everything 100% here, but are the people in the hall way, the ones who spotted me and I just spoke to, are they trying to open a door?

If so, does that door have a Maglock similar to the one I just opened? If that is true also, Breeze is going to speak up.

I know Zerone will be trying to open a door. I haven't tried with either character for fear of getting conked on the head. I'd go down, and so would Isabela, which would be no fun for me! nyahnyah.gif

Hamagen Correct - another character (Emilio) is in another locked exam room with a spirit sent from one of the runners hitting the clinic. There is indeed a maglock similar to the one from your door on all the doors in this hallway.

I will try to post the IC of the shot Ayo took at the grappled nurse later today.

Question: have we fully secured all the exam rooms/offices in the east area yet? OOC I think we have not, but I'm not sure and I wanted to check. Presumably the TacNet can tell us if there are areas we haven't checked yet? By my count there are 2 more guards somewhere.

Here is the layout again: Shadow Clinic

By my understanding, the two offices are secure, along with at least one of the exam rooms to the north of them (the one on the left I assume). The grenade guard came from the kitchen to the east (which I believe is off-duty area) but I don't think it has been properly searched so there could be more guards there - Ayo and Fats are heading this way.

Of the rooms to the west only A1 is clear. Eklipse just tried the door to A2 but it is locked. Zerone and Breeze are outside A4 (the one we believe is Emilio's room). A3, A5 and A6 have not been checked.

Possibly more worrying is the room we missed - the exam room to the north east of the reception area - leaving our backs exposed.

Just to keep everything in perspective, in a place that regularly jams violent criminals chock-full of cutting edge lethal cyber- and bioware as a business, I wouldn't necessarily assume Code Black was an un-armed nurse. Or that it didn't activate from all the screaming, in a world that's pretty constantly wired with cameras and sensor equipment.

There were no external signals that Cypher could detect. I'd take that to mean
  1. There's a wire buried in the ground
  2. A stronger signal was activated to broadcast with the alarm
  3. The alarm is internal and guards/persona-fixed goons are about to attack


The doc identified that her oyabun was being poisoned and was either a willing accomplice or primary agent--I wouldn't blink an eye at her having insurance policies against people attacking her private clinic. And we still haven't figured out why she has a frickin huge bounty on her head.

BishopMcQ you've seen similar set ups with a matrix security structure that incorporates drones - usually there is a space where the rigger is secured and then plugged into the drone network. What you've seen so far with this set up it seems likely the drone network is separated and isolated though you're not sure how they would pilot the drones in this signal dead area - perhaps a technomancer. The Yakuza tend to use "out of the box" set ups especially pocket projects like this place.

Notsoevildm you've heard of security set ups that use awakened critters or bio drones. They would be released from such an apeture.

Hamagen if someone can get you a visual you would identify the opening as a possible release site for drones most actually. In such a small structure, at least from what you've seen, would most likely have a rigger some where running them. If you become aware of he isolated nature of the matrix system here you think they would be either drones with sophisticated programs to deal with situations without a pilot. A technomancer would also be ideal for this set up you think - they seem to be able to operate in signal null spaces somehow but most people still view them as tech ghosts or digital wizards.

Wanted to give everyone a heads up for the next week. I am going to try to post this week but it's just me with the kids (business trip) so I am going to be challenged to get things up. I might get some time in the evening after kids are asleep but no promises. So go ahead and take your weekly drip of 1 karma for your characters.
