Fat Man has no obvious mods. He looks like a male human. He appears to be in good (in fact, excellent) health, except for being morbidly obese.

Fat Man unfortunately can't pass for mundane (He's dual-natured, which means he's always astrally perceiving and thus visible on the astral to anyone who looks.), although he does have fake licenses for his foci. I recently found out that Masking can fix that, and Extended Masking can hide spells/foci, so he's probably going to be spending Karma on initiating towards that. He kinda figured that if the jig is up to anyone with astral perception on, he might as well glow like a christmas tree.
How do you want to handle initiation? Should we just spend Karma on it like any other sort of expenditure? If so, do you mind if I go ahead and spend Fat Man's karma towards that, now?

UmaroVI With something like Initiation I would like done between runs since it is a larger investment of time and energy - while I can imagine characters studying to increase a technical skill between scenes with an hour here or there - Initiation is a complex ritual possibly involving a group. I would be fine with you doing it after this job is done and before the next one starts. Also we'll need to work out details - are you going to do an Ordeal and if so, which one? Etc.
Any other questions? I would like to push the thread to doing the actual run by midweek - does that work for everyone? Let me know.

For rites:
First, Initiatory Groups. Fat Man would probably want to join an initiatory group, if he could find an appropriate one; all of the example ones are either not ones he would join, or can't accept him as a member. If there's one in your world that would be appropriate, that might cover the initiation if they have Oath (or require some other rite).
Otherwise:
Fat Man is capable of pulling off the Meditation rite with a little help from his friends, and by friends I mean hallucinogens. Alternatively, Deed and Metaplanar Quest, which I would do if you have a particular idea you want to run for one or the other.

Of course, after I reply that I don't have any questions, I immediately think of something. Buddha, do the astrally perceiving characters see anything out of the ordinary? Would I have to have Zerone or the fire spirit go out and make an assensing test to see anything beyond the van?

JxJxA you would need to leave the warehouse and look over the space in question. You are always welcome to astrally perceive inside where you are now and see this location.
UmaroVI what type of group are you looking for? I do have several ones in my version of SR but I would need a little more information on what you are looking for. Just a group seeking power and more insight into magic? A group dedicated to a particular goal (save the wildlife, destroy LoneStar, etc)? Let me know.
My afternoon filled up with appts and errands so I will be bumping the thread in the AM tomorrow so this will be your last chance to post anything before we start the actual hit on the container.
Also since we have new players to the system please free to ask more open ended questions if you are looking for input or direction.

Cloak: -1 dice to detection spells
Silent walk: -4 dice to hearing perception tests
Armor also has thermal dampening 3 (not sure if I should add this to roll or if it is deducted from rolls using thermo to detect, the latter seems to make more sense)

JxJxA If the spirit is present in the astral then yes - hovering at your shoulder for example. But a bound spirit that you call to you would be unavailable to be assensed.

Also, Buddha, here is a quick description of Fire Spirit if you need it. I'll put more in my own post:
A floating figure shaped of white fire resembling a slender woman wearing a robe. The face is covered by a pure white mask (like porcelain or white marble) carved in Michaelangelo's style bearing a serene expression (
think Mary's face in the Pieta).

Fat Man has an off-the-shelf MetaLink with Vector Xim (R1/Sig2/F1/Sys1), while breaking in, it would be in hidden mode.
On the stealth topic - I just realized that both me and JxJxA summoned spirits that don't have Concealment. They probably didn't coordinate this one, so Fat Man is going to bid the Guardian spirit farewell and summon a force 5 Spirit of Man - I think we really need that.
Spirit got 5d6 = 3 hits, Fat Man got 10d6 = 5 hits, 2 services. Drain resist, Fat Man got 11d6 = 4 hits, 2S drain taken. Yowch. (Going to post an IC thing on this too). The spirit's optional power is Innate Spell: Stunbolt. Astral: the spirit looks like a giant panda bear.
The spirit's first task is to maintain Concealment on everyone but Twist (it only covers 5 people, Twist seems to actually have stealth skills). This is -5 to locate those people (we can still detect each other fine).
Fat Man drops the two spells he was sustaining once the break-in is ready to start (and before calling the spirit).
Infiltration 0d6 = 0 hits.
Perception 10d6 (assuming this was sight or hearing) = 5 hits
Assensing 10d6 = 6 hits [not sure if we needed that, but in case anything astral is noticeable]

Ok everyone is keeping food and drink inside their bodies plus we have had one vomit free night so I will post tomorrow in the AM. Be warned if this thing is near you all take it seriously - a 19 month toddler projectile puking is terrifying and should not be seen by the sane.

My bad my husband is out of town on business (love the paycheck - hate the travel) so I am running around like crazy with my 2.5 kids (long story but 2.5 is accurate).
