It's still there. Just left of the main sheet.
I think the question raised makes a good point. Having the settings sheet be the first sheet you see when you open a new version makes things simpler for new (or returning) users.

so I converted "W" to Office 2010 and until recently I thought nothing was wrong, however i have found that when "In Debt" is selected it no longer adds the benefit to the monitary section. I also noticed that when the Magician quality is selected a tradition. I have it saved as a xlsm. I will try to save it as xlsb when I get home and see if I have any better results with those 2 errors.

I believe that is a setting in the Options tab. DK I believe has it set to NOT grant actual cash, because that would be cheating.*
*(That is: you get both money AND bp for that quality)
The quality is no doubt broken, but the sheet supports the normal rule and the house-ruled version. I think I need to either:
Set the sheet to use book rules as a default, no matter my opinion of them
or
Add a hard to miss blerb at the top of the settings page that discusses the changes I have made and why, and explains how to change the settings for new users.
If I conducted a vote, I suspect the overwhelming majority would select the first option. Since my SR group has not be active for awhile, I am growing more inclined to agree. I enjoyed using the sheet as a platform to preach my opinions on the rules to people, but as the sheet grows closer and closer to artifact status (fifth edition looms brightly in The Shadows) I desire to clean the sheet up and leave it untarnished by the ebb and flow of my own personal house rulings.

Hey Folks, long time sheet user and advocate, new poster. I saw that there were not many request coming in and that a new request might be welcome. I see that the conversion to 2010 is forth coming and the thought that I had as an improvement would be a migration tool. To move from an older sheet to a newer sheet is time consuming, but being able to export a character, then import to a newer version of the sheet would be an anwesome feature, especially now that 5th Ed has been announced.
While working with excel I have found some walls and some muddy spots. Character exporting has proven to be a formidable tar pit. It could be achieved through macros, but they have limited usability across Microsoft Excel versions, and no use for the Open Office advocators out there.
Along with the feeble usability of that solution, it would be a great hassle to maintain. Every cell containing character data would have to be named, and any altering of the sheet would have to be meticulously reviewed for export impact. It would produce a myriad of headaches and I want none of them.

It's been years since I've used the sheet last (version b post-rename, I think, from late 2009), but since I'm just about to start a new PbP game (hopefully), I grabbed the most recent version (w) and rolled up two mages. I've got some random feature requests to throw out there, based on that experience.
- The amount of free contact points (from the house rule) you've used is not indicated anywhere - should be X/Y like free knowledge points, or a negative value in the Contacts cost field (not just next to it, because that shows "0 (-4)" even after I've spent 4).
- There should be a spot to input which type of spell a given focus is for (or which weapon is the weapon focus)
- The rule for Maximum Armor Modifications (Maximum rating points equal to MAX(6, Ballistic * 1.5, Impact * 1.5) ) is not implemented for items which have a capacity. This rule appears to be entirely separate from the rule about armor suit capacity, so it should display both for items like the Urban Explorer Jumpsuit.
- You also have an obsolete message about Street Magic spells on the Magic tab.
I'm really impressed by how far the sheet has come since I've seen it last. Not that it was bad before, but it's now at a level I didn't even realize Excel was capable of!
You are correct on the armor capacities/maximum modifications. There are two rules in the books. The maximum modification rule in the SR4a book, and an optional rule for capacity in the Arsenal book. The rule in Arsenal is an alternative to the rules for Maximum modification in the SR4a book. When I implemented capacity, I made a decision that the sheet would use capacity for all gear that the capacity rule was compatible with, and all other gear would use the maximum modification rule.
In hindsight, I agree it makes sense to facilitate both options for Capacity compatible gear, but my current solution is integrated with the armor calculations. The armor section was by far the most complicated and exciting part of the sheet to design. Making armor work was a trying en-devour which I took upon myself with great gusto, fueled by my SR groups need for a better armor solution. Now that my group no longer plays, I have no desire to crack open the maze of armor calculations and attempt a re-design.
The other problems you noted seem simple enough.
My original SR group from my hometown started playing again about a year ago. I am great friends with many of them (including my older brother) and kept them updated on the sheets progress. Ultimately they ended up using Heroforge. After recovering from the blow to my ego, I asked around and have heard that Heroforge's solution for Shadowrun is very complete. It handles most of what one would need for a sheet. I am excited for the Shadowrun gaming community. Finally a professionally maintained sheet is available!
My purpose in working on the sheet was to fill a void at my gaming table. I saw many sheets out there each with their own merit, and yearned for a single sheet that did it all. Without using Heroforge personally, I am still convinced that it has filled that void. With eager gamer eyes softened by the lackluster condition of my formerly inspiring Shadowrun group, I dont see Heroforge as a villain stealing our impetus, but instead the Calvary marching proudly to our fort, relieving a battle weary militia from their noble post.
