Sorry about that. I posted those rolls right as I was trying to run out the door to class. I didn't pay much attention because I figured that I summoned the spirit during a non-important time of the game.
3 successes = Light stun
Many apologies

Referencing the post and dice rolls in this thread of Aug 26 2004, 10:19 AM:
When you can, tisoz, would like this back-information (especially on CorpDeVo), if any, by way of tying up the results of pre-meet actions, since it refers to general research done on the Julia story during the 3rd and 4th prior to the meet. Hopefully one or more of those directions of approach will have some relevance and/or turn up useful information.
Or not.

I apologize for the lack of posts; didn't want my character's timeline to get too far ahead and was slacking over the holiday weekend.
Currently, my character is spending time between making the circulation and developing an Ally spirit formula for a future initiation familar ordeal.
I will also be out of town until Sunday night. My wife and I are celebrating our first wedding anniversary.

Major AnnouncementDue to personal reasons,
Tisoz will be taking a leave of absence as World GM. Obviously, he was already having difficulty keeping up with the game, so he'll be taking a break for a while just to catch his breath and take care of business.
A reason he waited so long was his sense of responsibility to the game, and fortunately, we have someone who'll be stepping up to the illustrious job of World GM.
May I present, (drumroll please)
Sedna! She has graciously agreed to help with the job of managing the World IC, and will be taking over management of the following players: myself, Bandit, and Sentinel. All other players under Tisoz will be under me again. We will keep this arrangement until
Sedna can get her feet wet and get comfortable with GMing, at which point we'll probably mix it up a bit again. Please note, volunteers are always welcome to GM.
Additionally, Sundays will be designated "karma days", from here on out, to ensure continuity. I will allow
Sedna to post first, then I will follow, so I can keep my karma records current and up to date. I will update the player lists, check them if you like, and look for your karma update later tonight.
And on a personal note, congratulations Sentinel! Hope you had a good time with the wife!

Congratulations on your new appointment Sedna, and thank you very much for stepping up to the responsibility. I love reading your in character posts as they are of a very high quality and draw me into your character. Looking foward to playing under you.

Ack! Thank you, but I'll just hope I can live up to what you both seem to expect of me
Edit: oops ...

I guess you were waiting for me to post this then? Sorry. Here it is:
The next two also take into account weeks of posting without getting any previous karma:
- Bandit: 4 (includes a quality bonus)
- Dragon: 7 (includes a quality bonus, + 1 bonus karma per week for GM work)

Apologies, it's been an extremely bad day. I will post the karma awards here tomorrow.

Aha. That explains Sedna's reply to Bandit's post in the "Living in the Shadows:IC" thread, which confused me to no end for a few minutes.

Bandit, who isn't even a character
hehehehehe.
I'm just messing with you. It is funny though.

Karma for the last two weeks:
paul_HArkonen: 4
Sedna: 6
Digital Heroin: 3
Neophyte Overlord: 4
Kurukami: 5
Shev: 4
I felt the descriptions, conversations, in-character thoughts, writing, and the maintenance of the flow of Salvation was exceptional overall, even if posts tended to be short in length (which actually worked out great because of how smoothly the conversations have been flowing), so good job everyone. Please note that a major consideration is posting frequency and total number of posts. I skimmed through the last two weeks of Salvation and did a rough tally of number of posts (per player) for the past two weeks, then gave everyone 2 quality points in addition to point(s) for the number of posts over the past two weeks. Sedna and Kurukami get the extra point (s) for their Shadowland posts.
In case people are wondering, the quality bonus is a function of posting frequency and quality of posts in regards to role-playing, creativity, contributing to the overall flow of the game, contributing to the overall feel of the game, and bringing your character to life.

Just happened that I was on-line at the time, and that you two are among my major on-line priorities
Etiquette's perfect. It's not that bad of a social environment -- uninvolved bystanders always tend to gawk and gossip.
The Decryption roll is going to limit it a bit, WinterRat, but it could be much worse.
New Shadowrun truism: passengers which come close to outweighing the car tend to have an involuntary effect on its movement.

Surprise (please make it?

Virgil obviously is immediately vulnerable, and so is the Doc Wagon employee, who hasn't spotted it yet.

"Burning" being the operative word
Bandit,
Virgil has the edge on the fire elemental ... just. So go ahead and post your action(s).
banditf50
Sep 16 2004, 03:28 AM
Wow, and I was just thinking about plans to build a telesma for a weapon focus . . .creepy. Obviously Virgil is entering astral combat with the elemental, so here goes . . .
Attack - Socery + 3 astral combat pool dice: 10, 9, 5, 5, 5, 3, 2, 2, 1
Damage code: 6M, I choose physical damage
Sedna
Sep 16 2004, 03:41 AM
Well, there were other options ... but they don't really matter now
One net success in your favour, but it soaks the damage down to L ... and you're likely to be in trouble next turn.
Could I ask you to write out the post, this time? I'll pick up in about nine hours, but right now I have a bus to catch, and I don't even have time to counter-roll.
Sedna
Sep 16 2004, 11:58 AM
Or maybe not in trouble (and sorry about that -- I had about a minute to run downstairs and catch it):
Attack: 3, 5, 5, 6, 3, 3, 5 against your astral BD (WL) for damage 6M. I assume you're counterattacking (yes/no)?
Btw spirits only have one track iirc. It's only when you're battling someone projecting or dual-natured that the choice applies.
banditf50
Sep 16 2004, 03:30 PM
No problem, I make a lot of posts small breaks between classes . . ..
I would think that I would just make an opposing attack roll (since we follow unarmed combat rolls) and the success loser would've have to resist damage. I'll provide both a damage resistance roll and an attack roll for you to use depending on how this should be handled. . .but I think only the attack roll is necessecary.
damage resistance: astral body (6) + 3 astral combat dice = 11, 10, 9, 9, 4, 4, 3, 1, 1
counter-attack: socery 6 = 6, 5, 5, 3, 2, 2
Damage code 6M
Sedna
Sep 16 2004, 03:35 PM
It soaks it easily. (Oops -- I meant 3 successes, not four -- it takes another L wound.)
Next phase: first action is yours, with its opposed attack. No one on the ground is even close to noticing yet. (Who looks up?)

Sep 16 2004, 07:15 PM
Attack: Socery 6 = 7, 7, 5, 3, 2, 2
Sedna
Sep 16 2004, 09:43 PM
No successes on the opposed attack roll, one on the soak roll to restore the damage to M.
Its attack: 8, 8, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1. Finally, two successes.
After your opposed attack roll to this attack, Bandit, you'll get the first attack on the last phase of this round.
banditf50
Sep 17 2004, 02:00 AM
Opposed attack roll: Socery 6 = 9, 7, 4, 3, 3, 1
I believe that's two success and ties goes to the attacker, so here is my soak roll . .
Astral body 6 = 6, 6, 5, 5, 3, 2
Let me know what damage I take exactly. Virgil is attacking in the last phase, so here is the attack roll to keep the combat going smooth . . .
Socery 6 + 3 astral combat pool = 12, 11, 7, 4, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1
Sedna
Sep 17 2004, 02:22 AM
Virgil takes Light physical damage, Bandit ... not that it's going to make a difference with that attack roll!
Opposed attack: 7, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2
Two net successes in your favour, but it gets soaked down to the elemental taking Medium damage. It's really starting to look hurt now.
Its attack: 9, 5, 5, 4, 2, 2, 2. It squeaks out a single success.
Your opposed attack will close the combat round.

Thankfully the rules provide for a very generours allotment astral combat pool dice
Opposed attack roll: Socerey 6 = 8, 5, 3, 3, 2, 2,
I believe that is just a single success and thus I'll need a soak roll . . .
Astral Body 6 = 9, 7, 3, 2, 1, 1
Sedna
Sep 17 2004, 03:27 AM
Another point of Light damage to Virgil.
Initiative time.
banditf50
Sep 17 2004, 03:30 AM
Iniative: 4 + 6 + 20 - 1 = 29 (damn. . stupid wound modifiers. . missed 30)
Sedna
Sep 17 2004, 03:35 AM
You still edge it out. It's more hurt than you are.
(I'm having to run now -- I'm going to assume you continue to attack. Roll it, and if you get two or more successes, in either of the next two passes, you're in the clear, and it's toast. I went and rolled a bit ahead.)
banditf50
Sep 17 2004, 03:44 AM
Ah the pleasant feeling of refresning dice pools . . .
Attack roll: socery 6 + 2 astral combat pool = 9, 5, 5, 4, 2, 2, 1, 1
hmmm. .. that could've gone better
banditf50
Sep 17 2004, 03:47 AM
Ok then. .. . .here's pass #2
Socery 6 + 3 astral combat pool = 10, 7, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2,
hmmm. .. .I think that toasts it. ..
Sedna
Sep 17 2004, 04:08 PM
Yes. Light damage in the first, Medium damage in the second: and it's gone.

Virgil is assensing the other signiture he dected upon his initial assensing test for violent magic . . .
assesing = 7, 5, 4, 4, 1, 1
aura reading (comp test) = 8, 3, 3, 1
After that he's going to assense the source of the 'homing signal' as you described it, try to figure out what the mage is doing . . .
assensing = 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 1 (wow, I don't think I've ever rolled that much of a repeat)
aura reading (comp test) = 5, 4, 2, 1
Sedna
Sep 17 2004, 09:07 PM
Too much of a background count to read it clearly -- but you think there might be someone still alive in there. Maybe you could pull it off as an extended action -- and now you've got some clue why the Doc Wagon mage is as focused as he is on what he's doing.
banditf50
Sep 17 2004, 09:16 PM
There is no way Virgil can walk away without at least trying to help find the individual that might be in the rubble. . .here are the rolls for one more assensing attempt to try and locate that person.
assensing = 15, 8, 5, 5, 4, 1
aura reading (comp test) = 5, 3, 1, 1
Sedna
Sep 17 2004, 09:42 PM
The comp test helps you not at all (sorry!) but the main test is high enough that you now have a loose sense of the individual. Actually, you know there's at least two.
Problem is, Virgil can't pinpoint them from where the two of you are -- still much too muddy for that -- but he's sure they're behind the Lone Star perimeter which the Doc Wagon guy is arguing over. It's not something you can sneak past either, unless you have something to make you invisible or highly concealed. You already know that with a reasonable degree of success, only the Doc Wagon guy is at all likely to notice if you do something like that -- and since it's beginning to look like he has a vested interest in getting in there ...?
(Sorry: in and out of on-line access today. Won't be back for quite a few hours: but we'll try to have this part resolved by tomorrow.)
