Non perma-wards don't cost karma, and take only an hour per level to put up. Also, I believe they are keyed to the person who made them, who is always able to pass through them, dual-natured or no. I wasn't sure, however, if you'd had the time yet, or learned that bit of magic theory.
But I understand completely about using spirits instead.

I didn't know that bit of information, so thanks, though Max was made to deal with paranormal critters, so he would naturally resort to spirits as he understands them better.

I was pretty upset when I saw the way things were going, but Life in the Shadows must go on, right?
Ilsa: But what about us?
Rick: We'll always have Paris. We didn't have, we, we lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.
Ilsa: When I said I would never leave you.
Rick: And you never will. But I've got a job to do, too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now... Here's looking at you kid.Casablanca is one of my all-time favourite movies and yes, it seems to fit in quite well with
Cosmo's story. Almost as if someone had planned it that way ....

Triple S's (Sedna, Scrapheap, Slipshade): Is there something super secret I should know about? I think I've seen more spoilers today than in the last couple months of game time. I'm half afraid you guys are planning on having Max and John go bomb the Space Needle or something and don't want the rest of us to know about it!
Sedna- As an aside, I think Cosmo's storyline is an excellent illustration as to why/how Dragon has not yet discovered the difference between 'adventure' and 'life'. More specifically, how he's been extremely sheltered in many ways. Just a thought I had while reflecting on Morgannah's last IC post.

Yeah, starting a week ahead's been tough on
Eyes and
Tony. I mean right now I'm looking at trying to make a meet where I have to wait for
Alleycat et al. to cover five days to my one. At the same time I've got to catch up with
Tony, who's half a day
ahead of
Eyes, not to mention I had to rush this meet with
Carla and
Angela a little bit so I don't have to retcon running into
Tony when he visits the same resturant in like three minutes game time, but nearly three weeks ago OOC time. Ain't continuity a kick in the teeth?
As for the Matrix it's really not that hard, because it's so freeform. Just choose a metaphor and write; translating your in-game actions into Matrix actions of grendel's job.
I wouldn't worry about that much anyway; for all my character's emphasis on Matrix work I've only written two significant (more than one post) scenes from inside the machine, and only one of those was actually on the Matrix itself (the conversation with
Oracle.)
Angela doesn't seem like a computer whiz anyway.
QUOTE |
I'm more than willing to answer any OOC questions you might have, though. |
Me? If I knew what questions to ask I'd probably be able to answer them myself.
Like
Eyes, my main problems revolve around 1) recognizing the female's interest, and 2) where to go from there. Unfortunately dating is an Intuition-linked skill, so naturally no matter what either of us do we're gonna suck at it.
WinterRat1
Nov 18 2005, 04:36 PM
Well you know what they say, if your attribute is low, just raise your skill!
So in the interests of training Eyes, how about a little help Morgannah? Actually, come to think of it, this could be a fun OOC discussion topic on an otherwise slow week.
So, to all LITSers, 2 questions:
1. How does someone know when a female is interested in them?
2. What does one do from there?
(All answers accepted in the hopes of generating much entertainment, and maybe even a little useful advice as well. Plus I admit, I'm just curious to see what everyone will say
)
EDIT: I want to note that those questions weren't just to keep screwing with Eyes, nor specific to him because of our running jokes. It has officially transferred to become a 'let's toss a few random questions out there and see what everyone says just because it's fun' type of question(s).

Point taken ... but oddly enough this time I can't just flash-forward it like that exhausting post

Hehehe, I've never had to compose and OOC reply in notepad before.
I KNEW that waking up so late was a bad idea....
My biggest concern with the Matrix is that I might end up taking
too much liberty with it.
Cosmo isn't using her own deck this time, so my real question is whether it's the user or the system that is largely responsible for Matrix imagery. Does that make sense?
Regarding continuity, lol, I can relate. Let's just say that it'll be
really nice when everybody catches up. It'll happen .. eventually.
Sedna is setting the standard for 'flash-forward' posts (
) and something leads me to believe that there will be a few more in the LiTS family's future.

Nothing says 'I love you' like a restraining order
The continunity thing (regarding
Eyes and
Tony) is actually my fault; now
Tony's parked in a coffee shop half expecing a single cyber-ninja to bust in. I'm both wanting
Eyes to show up soon, and to take his time 'cause it's a
lot more interesting than anything I've got on tap (and I've got NPC's to catalogue as well).

Don't even get me started about continuity difficulties. Argh! Sigh, the joys of being able to fast forward though. It's like life. Some days not a whole lot happens, other days, you wouldn't believe the amount of stuff that can happen in a 24 hour period (Exhibit A: See Dragon & Virgil).

Ah ha, but then what about the time-honored (for women at least) tradition of playing hard to get? How do you know when she says she doesn't want you but really does versus when she really doesn't want you? Short of her busting out the always helpful aforementioned restraining order, of course.
Cause you know, some girls just like the whole being pursued thing. They want the guy to get them, just not right away. They want to make him work for it first. Thoughts?

not to do.
EDIT: BC, here's hoping you weren't on the wrong end of that receiving order...
Morgannah
Nov 18 2005, 08:45 PM
Plenty of thoughts, yes, but it all boils down to:
the difference between "hard to get" and "leave me alone" usually lies in the setup. If a girl is interested she'll indicate it in some way (as mentioned earlier) and then leave the ball in your court. It isn't just 'some girls' that enjoy being chased and sought after once the proper signals have been sent, but damned near all of us.
So in essence, wait for the green light and then GO GO GO .. until she changes her mind and throws a stop sign at you (women's perogative, and all that).

Comfort and confindence in oneself is probably the best advice I can give. Learning to speak intellgently on a variety of topics is always a plus, as is learning to complement someone in a sultry language (Morgannah, tus ojos es muy bonito.). It never hurts.
Avoid making decisions while intoxicated with anything, mentally or physically. That doesn't lead to a good ending.

Excellent advice, especially that bit about making decisions while under the influence of
anything that might cloud your reason. Knowing what to do IS intuitive (as
