grendel, I just thought I'd give you a heads up that I will be unable to post from Apr 20 through Apr 27, since I'll be on vacation and in another country.
I suppose I'll have to add up my Karma and let Tenmou do some improvements in my absence...
Out of curiousity, given recent events, has Phoenix/Mioko moved up to a Level 3 contact?

You can roll your combat pool to soak as well, you weren't surprised. Tony, it's your action. Range from you to the animal is four meters. Light is low-light.

Sedna, glad everything worked out ok
grendel, thanks for the explanation. Rolling for quickdraw on the Browning Max Power in my pocket (TN4):
8, 4, 5. 3, 2, 3
Rolling for success on the pistol shot (using 3 from combat pool):
2, 10, 2, 5, 4, 3, 15, 4, 13, 3
Are we doing some sick version of Old Yeller?
grendel
Apr 14 2005, 07:26 AM
If you were going to use the pistol you could spend a simple action to clear the weapon and one simple action to fire without the quickdraw test. In this case, you can fire a second time if you want to. Are you taking any cover while you engage the target?
bclements
Apr 14 2005, 03:11 PM
Didn't know that part of it. And sure, when facing some unknown large dog, why not fire again?
Oh yeah, not moving or taking cover.
If needed, rolls for a second shot (skill only):
3, 3, 5, 2, 4, 2, 4
EDIT: Also, if you want that I should post my IC actions up until firing the shot, then let me know.

Apr 14 2005, 04:54 PM
Rolling for melee we get:

Hopefully, that doesn't net me a faceful of slobber from the dog.

FYI-
I don't know what the index or availability is, but Scrapheap would probably try to acquire some stim patches at this point. Unless the lack of sleep is just considered a little IC-flava.
Also, let me know if you need any rolls (to convince Megan, find the patches, etc).

Cedric:
I wanted to state that your posting between the electronics store and the club is a great example of PC initiative. I enjoy that you took the story within your own hands and I look forward to such initiative in the future. I will be posting something for you at this point
Knight:
I haven't forgotten you either and will be posting for you soon as well.
NoticeI apologize for my recent slowness in posting. My senior honors thesis is due this coming Friday and I am currently pulling my hair out trying to pull everything together in time, while still studying for final exams. After next Friday things will become infinitely easier for me and I will be a much better GM and PC at that point. Thanks for your understanding

The gang would work, but I'm trying to wait to talk to them until after I meet with Twiggy. Just in case I need to hire some muscle.

I'll say here what I say to everyone: go for it!
It's going to make life a bit more complicated for one of those involved, but that's life in the shadows, after all. (If you're curious, I'll say this much: at least one of those names turned up in someone's storyline. Beyond that, if you're still curious: the browser "Find" function is a Good Thing.)

All right.
In the interest of saving a bit of rp time I've summarized very broadly in the thread that
Cos is asking questions about how things are run at FTL Matrixware.
Specifically, she's looking for information on security protocols, how well the regular guards are armed, and what sort of physical security is available in case of an emergency. She's chatting him up as charmingly as possible but making sure that he offers the information himself and not as a result of her questions. If it's possible to get a bit of information about the interior of the building to suppliment the data from her blueprints without seeming too obvious, she'll do that as well.
Interrogation check (defaulting to Cha with Good Looking and Knows it as a modifier):

Hey cool! Karma!
Just a quick
(series of) question
(s), Grendel.
Since your post was edited after I turned in for the night. What is the common wisdom for dealing with this automated pattern-recognition system when one
doesn't have matrix backup? I've made a point of familiarizing myself with rigged security systems but I don't know much at all about the other side. Does it work on a similar level or should Cos have ordered a rosary with the rest of her new equipment?
