@Whipstitch - Ouch. sorry you lost the HD. At least you're back, which is a good thing.
@Slip - I'm gonna just let things chill for a little bit with Nevada and Baby + girls... only because there's only so much posting involving sleeping that can be done
And I don't want to time jump hours ahead in case something happens to the guys and the girls are alerted/IM'ed/Called/etc. So we can chill out for a bit

AAARRGGGHHH! Dude, pull the band-aid off slowly, why don't you? I was hoping for a nice doubling of drain and turning it to physical damage. Take the pain and be done. Now the suspense must continue!
Oh well, as Dire Radiant says - Evil GM = Good GM.
So - continuing on - as per every time Grack gets no successes with Detect Enemies (and every time he gets successes - actually, every time he casts it), he proceeds under the assumption that it is now working just fine.
Drain Value is 3
Charisma + Willpower + Focus Will = 8 dice
3 5 5 6 3 6 5 2 = at least I don't take drain to add insult to whatever injury I am now to suffer!
Infiltration test to be all silent and hidden as I move around
Attribute + Skill + Specialization (no home ground since I think we've crossed out of the old turf) = 8 dice
3 6 2 5 4 1 6 1 1 = 3 hits
Perception test for threats to me or gang
Attribute + Skill = 4 dice
2 1 1 4 = Ummmmmmmm....
critical glitchMaybe I'll be so stealthy that no one will notice when the humiliations strikes....

Rolling for Box's scan and sniffer tests in order to dial in on the motorcycle dumbasses and any other general conversation. Note commlink ranges, he ain't counting on anything unless they're not in a dead zone or they're burning high power.
Sniffer test:
Electronic Warfare 1 + Commlinks Specialization 2 + RF Signal Scanner 4 = 7 dice: [3,2,1,6,2,2,3] (1 hit)
Scan test:
Electronic Warfare 1 + Commlinks Specialization 2 + Scan 2 = 5 dice: [1,6,1,6,3] (2 hits)
I leave it to the black die of doom, or whatever yall're calling it, to see whether his message goes through, but remember his commlink has a none-to-shabby signal rating of 4. Box always prefers direct comms.

I figgered out my Karma stuff, too, because I got arsenal...
Martial arts:
Box is buying Krav Maga at level 2, with the "Take Aim as free action" and "Ready weapon as free action." He learned it from the obvious source. Spending 5 "Martial Arts BP" and 5 "All Purpose BP."
With the 15 Karma:
Agility to 5
Convert 5 Bonus BP to 10 Karma:
Add Hacking (commlinks) 6 Karma
Raise Automatics to 2 (4): 4 Karma
So much stuff I want...

Hey, just a heads up. You've got 2k to spend. Your Hacking (Commlinks) only costs 4k not 6 as per the training and development rules
Keep in mind you're gonna have to track all the training for these purchases on your wiki pages (Karma in particular)
Hacking (Commlinks) = 10 hours base time/Attribute roll - Hits divide into training time + 20 hours for the specialization (No improvement test possible to reduce training time)
Automatics = 20 hours base time - Improvement Test: Current Skill + Attribute (edge as applicable) - Hits divide into training time
Agility = 75 hours base time - Improvement Test: Current Attribute Only (edge as applicable) - Hits divide into
training time

Eyeless blond > If you get in SOON, maybe you should start your guy in a room at the Evergreen Heights. It's Mob run, so a fairly safe place to ride out a gang war. Just fire up your comm and find me there.
Aight, then box's purchases, slightly edited to account for 2 more Karma than I thought...
Martial arts:

Raise Hacking from 0 to 1: 2 Karma
Raise Demolitions from 0 to 1: 2 Karma
Add Specialization (commlinks) to hacking: 2 Karma
Raise Automatics to 2 (4): 4 Karma
I will roll for training time once I actually start training, in order to bank myself time to... acquire... a tutorsoft (I don't think box should be able to learn demolitions without somehting like that).

Pragma and Bearclaw - Good job handling that in Grendel's absence.
Before I move on, I want to know VERY specifically where in the Black Plague's turf you're headed. By 'VERY specific' I mean you should either specify an intersection, or if it’s not an intersection, you should describe the north, south, east, and west borders of the area you’re heading to so there is no ambiguity about where you end up.
If possible, also tell me the route you are taking to get there, in as much detail as possible.
This is one of those times where literally what street you’re standing on (and how you got there) will make all the difference as to what happens next, so be as clear as possible.
Since Grendel is still out and Rico has the nominal lead (with Thumper obviously being the one to really set the pace) I’m putting it on you two to tell me where the group ends up heading.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Or at least, he generally tries to keep it that way.

Vegas - Does he get OJT training time for blowing up both Badmarsh and his cousin's friend?
Of course, I'm not sure if he blew up badmarsh, but I will believe it anyway....

Spark and Meriss – X’s message to Ink does get through.
BTW Spark, that was very good Spanish. I took 4 years of Spanish in high school so I actually understood large chunks of what you were saying, and the grammar was pretty good too, from what I could tell. Are you a native speaker?

@Winter: Cool can you translate for me.
While I can fake a suprising array of accents and speech patterns thanks in large part to my Omi. (Grandma in German. I Learned at her knee, but Lil' Meriss got cute and realized English was easier.) The Language area of my brain still works at impressive levels and I was at my most fluent up to four languages. But time and lack of practice........
WinterRat1
May 6 2008, 03:52 PM
Meriss – I don’t have anywhere CLOSE to the time needed to translate for you, and even if I did, I’m not THAT good. I understood the basic gist of it (e.g. the last section was basically ‘Get your butt over here and help me out. Please.’), but that’s about the limit.
If you need a translation, ask Spark for one, he seems more than capable of providing it.
Besides, if you’ve got all those language skills that are rusting away, here’s an opportunity for you to practice. I’m horrible at languages, so I am not the guy you want translating in any circumstances anyway.

hehe yeah, i took spanish in highschool, no im not a native speaker but im almost 100% fluent in about 4 dialects of that (that particular one im using is actually a slang mix of cubano and chiapas mexican).
heres the translation of what i said:
Las Parcas are the spanish version of the greek fates.
In my com message i asked ink a bunch of questions : Hi friend are you living? (literal translation, could more accurately be translated as hey whats up friend, you still living the life these days (the 'way part is mexican slang they tag it onto about everything in the gangs). Where are you at homie? I need some strong chummers tonight man, theres some creepy shit running around in the 'Gate ese.
then the last thought is roughly translated as: At least one friend survived the night... if not... im gonna murder the fucker that has his commlink.
so its up to you to reply eh Ink?

After a long period of being too busy for my own good I'm back in the game! Thumper's plan is as follows:
If the sounds are coming from directly west:
Thumper will assume the Night Hunters are moving up 124th past the Plague and are planning to buzz Raider Nation on their joyride. He will goad whoever the leader is into heading directly towards the sound at a reasonably fast walk. He also assumes they're sticking to main thoroughfares in order to travel fast and not get mired in any turf they don't mean to.
The approximate route for this condition is: head due NE on 128th Ave NE, head NW on NE 144th St. Head West on NE 144th st. He will steer clear of Raider turf. Hope to intercept action at intersection of 124th Ave NE and 144th St.
If the sounds are coming from noticeably southwest:
Thumper will assume the Hunters are planning to move to the North side of Plague turf to fuck with them. He plans to intercept the action (or at least reassess it) on NE 140th.
The approximate route for this condition is: SW on 128th Ave. NE, W on NE 141st Way South on 124th Ave NE and E on NE 140th to intercept action along Plague Border.
Notes:
Not straying into other turf (as of his most recent knowledge) under any conditions, but adjusting route to move towards noise. Trying very hard not to get tied up in drive by or mounted combat, only engaging if Night Hunters dismount.

May 9 2008, 03:32 AM
Thumper has tactical control right now, as long as he doesn't move to get involved in a full on war, Legion will let him take point and chose the routes.

OK, I'm not so sure on the color scheme. Tell me if I've got this right.
To the north and west of our current location, we've got the UV Nights. Then farther west is the Steel Demons. South and for several blocks east is the Black Plague, and north, mostly due to no one else owning it, is ours.
What's our name again, and do we have a tag? May as well let people know there's a new sheriff in this part of town.
Vegas
May 14 2008, 04:27 PM
@Bearclaw
You guys (according to WR1's last post) are at the intersection of NE 140th St. + 124th Ave NE, which puts you technically smack dab in the center of the borders of UV Nights turf (NW), October Ravens (us) turf (NE), Black Plague Turf (SE) and the former Corsair's Turf (now up for grabs) (SW). The Raven's turf was old Hammerpack (Legion's old gang) turf and the current gang has been asked/manipulated to move back into that space. So yes, you are correct with your reading of the area, only the Steel Demons bump up against 124th to the South of your current location (below ex-Corsair's turf)
If you look on the turf map and then click on the map piece "B5" you'll see the area in detail (street level) and you guys are at the top of the map, above the "3" where the green and grey lines intersect.
We have some sort of tag that was started to be spread around a bit by some of the PC's, but I don't know that it (or specific colours) had been 'fleshed out' into something specific and detailed. Might be time to do that
I think we were talking about "autumn colours + black" as the Raven's colour scheme, but again I don't think it was comitted to by everyone.
Hope that helps a bit.
