OK I believe that brings me up to date with everyone who was waiting on me for something. If anyone has any questions let me know, otherwise you're all free to post.
Bearclaw - If Dantic doesn't respond to you, feel free to NPC him, since you obviously have a plan and he set up a nice situation for you to start working some crime.
Pragma - I don't think I explicitly stated it, but raising Pistols to 1 has been approved.
Plumbing Crew - I'm letting you guys RP out the situation per an earlier request. At such time as it's necessary to get down to the mechanics let me know and we'll work out the details.

Baby will be going through her checklist of routes, side streets and alley ways to come up with some sort of escape route if the group needs it. Would you like me to make that roll now or later if it comes to that. She would have been doing so anyway, the whole way there.
She will also be noting any cover nearby, which I will add to my IC post.

OK, I NPC'd Twiggs. I'm hoping he'll pick it up from there, or maybe a GM, as we're gonna need one sooner or later.

Felix is switching to astral perception.
He is mainly just looking about, checking for people who might be hiding somewhere close by.
WinterRat1
Jul 29 2008, 12:16 AM
Slipshade - No need to roll, she would have had plenty of time to do that on her way here and I presume she would have been doing so.
Bearclaw - Good post, and understood. We'll give Dantic a couple days, and if he doesn't respond, I'll get involved as a GM and NPC him, since like you said, you'll need a GM involved eventually.
Side Note: I cannot believe you invoked the Bang Bus. I don't know what's worse, the fact that I knew what you were talking about, or the fact that it's a perfectly reasonable thing for you guys to do in this game. A shadowrun game with the Bang Bus...what will you all come up with next?
Mister Juan -
[ Spoiler ]
Felix doesn't see any other hostiles. No perception roll was needed.
There are some random people huddling in doorways, peering out windows, crouched in alleys, etc., but a quick glance at their auras tells you they are just hoping to make it through the next couple minutes without getting killed.
If there are any other Black Plaguers out there, they know enough to stay out of LOS for astral perception.
Also, Felix is now officially aware that Alexis is a magician. So if things get ugly, he'll have someone to play with. If he was actually a magician that is.
Grendel, Mister Juan, Slipshade, Meriss - In case it needed to be said, all of the Black Plaguer's are carrying weapons of some type, mostly melee, no obvious firearms, etc. They're being polite though, and are conspicuously NOT pointing any of their weapons at you. Yet.

No need, situation already resolved via IC post. You're up.
Since Aziz's situation is 'open' if you will, use your next post to set the direction for where you want Aziz to go from here, even if it's just continuing to sit there and let business come in. This way it's clear to me if you're waiting on me or if you'll be IC posting on your own for a bit.

Raider Nation - Silver and Black
Emerald Lotus - Green and...Black?
Heartbreakers - Pink and ? (Not sure if that is right)
Plague - Black and ?
BF Inc - No idea
Ghouls - No idea
Not sure who else I am missing. Maybe the wiki will have more info on rival gang colors.

Hmmm, nifty, what if we added a flame wreath to that?

I was working at one point on some tags for Baby and I had put the words October Ravens in a very stylized bird shaped triangle with flames around it. My original thought was black lettering with the triangle formed in blue or purple flame, so that would work for me.

Jul 30 2008, 04:34 AM
I think colors are enough. Best way to do this is have one of the characters brign up the tag/sign/color whatever IC, and then the gang more or less coalesces around the suggestion. If it doesn't happen, well, they're gang members, not the committee that writes uniform regulations.
OOC, I think the best we're going to get is more or less a plurality vote of 'that doesn't suck.' I posit that 'not sucking' is good enough for us.
@WinterRat: I'll put box's condition monitor and or training time tracker up soon. Can I count sewage fixing as OJT for Industrial Mechanic (Buildings)?

I'm guessing it's about time to get to the mechanics, unless Box has waded into another unexpected conversational lacuna.
From here, goal is to find the pipe, connect it to the hq pipe, and make water go. Then we'll hike back up and look for leaks or other unexpected crap.
Box has logic 4 and no relevant skills. Auto mechanics may come into play if we have to jack somebody's radiator hose to make a shunt, but that's all I can think of unless there's some clean connection.

Okay - was going to IC Grack just getting up and starting work without a word (until he gets tired), turning some valve or something.
But a review of the crunchy post about how Winter is going to handle the dice on all that stopped me short. Apparently tools may be required (can't really argue much there). Grack certainly not venturing forth to find any in daylight!
As for dice, at 6 dice confirmed, Grack has twice as many as Bockscar, so I think he should probably be the "leader" in terms of dice rolling, with others rolling teamwork. On the other hand, he may quit halfway through. And being no statistician, I am not sure how great an impact it will be that he has two less Logic than Bocks (for the "working from memory" penalty).
Anyway, starting from 6 dice, here is some semi-crunchy wheedling re. mods:
* If I can successfully cast Spatial Sense (extended) - which I took for assistance with sewer ops - can I get a better read on where the pipes are/go/what is in them, so as to offset some of that working from memory/without reference penalty?
* I do have a flashlight, so for us orks, we should have no vision mods - so maybe that will be factored into the final decision on how terrible the conditions are....
* I would submit - most respectfully - that for Grack, the conditions are not adverse at all but perfectly normal, and there should be no penalty for bad working conditions. This is no freebie based on backstory role-playing I seek, but something I have paid heavily for in game terms - to wit, I have FIVE active or knowledge skills that deal specifically with living in the sewers.
Thus endeth the wheedle.
Waiting for us to make a final decision on:
- tooling up/trying to get a comm connection to pull up some schematics or DIY instructions
- target water quality

For IC purposes, Thumper's tagging along so long as it's feasible. He ditched his armor in the HQ and is just wearing some street clothes.
This assumes there's someone in the HQ, if not, Thumper will hold down the fort.
IC post forthcoming, a bit busy with moving nowadays.

Oops, sorry, got a little caught up with that damn real life bs again
been scanning the boards some, but been really unable to do anything, but things should be back to normal now, and not working quite so many hours in the week, and just when things start rolling, sigh. Bearclaw seems to be on the right track, I'm fine with it, though Twiggs will try to use his, fast hands and faster mouth to avoid a beatdown. Will post in the next two days, also kind of see modern SR4 trucks as being acessed through comm like everything else, instead of keys, so would swipe it, but whatever is needed, will probably need a palming roll.

Grack, all sewer peeps, Winter:
Still looking to diagnose the problem and fix it if it's easy (like just turning on the water) or find more stuff if it's hard.
* Comms +/DIY manual: Assuming that the signal won't reach us, as long as there's a manhole within Signal 1 range of the work site Box can just throw his throwaway commlink up there and use it as a repeater for his brain commlink (which is pretty much what he does all the time, anyway, to spoof the commcodes).
* Tools: depends on what is needed/broken, requires GM call. Turning on the water through a shut off valve probably requires a breaker bar (if the valve lever is attached but rusted shut or something) or special-head wrench (like a fire hydrant wrench). Reconnecting the pipes will require all that and a pipe wrench and something to seal the connection. Splicing the pipes together (no remaining connection to the main line and no fitting for it) won't require a valve wrench, but will require either some new pipe or a stand in (like a rubber radiator hose), and something that can put a big enough hole in the main pipe (drill, grack's axe might work, but finding something to fit tight to the gash would be a trick).
* Water quality: Box will posit, IC when it comes up, that all we need is running water. Purification devices, if necessary, will be installed downstream after we take a quick trip to Home Depot.

Hey Everyone –
I have good news and bad news.
The good news is I got back safely from my vacation on Sunday.
The bad news is I returned to find my computer had crashed.
Not being tech savvy myself, I can only go with the recommendation of my wife (computer science major) and brother-in-law that my ancient low-tech computer (a.k.a. The Affront to the SOTA Curve) is now best consigned to the scrapheap, and I should move on to the latest and greatest in modern computer technology.
I am only able to have computer access at work right now, and since I’m getting ready to leave for GenCon tomorrow night, I’ve spent most of my time catching up here from last week and getting things in order for when I leave.
I will try to carve out a block of time next week to catch up, even if I have to stay late at work to do so, and to get up and running on a new computer as soon as possible. My brother-in-law is currently hunting one down for me.
Since I’m leaving for GenCon tomorrow night, consider me down comms from this point until I surface again sometime next week. If anyone needs anything or has any questions, feel free to post them and I will get back to you ASAP upon my return.

(avoiding NE 137th since the howling is still coming from that direction at the current point in X's story). Other than that ill just end up cruising along the evergreen heights and the park look for drug deals and Ink in general.

Hey Everyone –
My apologies for my continued absence. Work has been really busy lately, leaving me unable to squeeze in time to post, and my lack of a home computer has continued to be a significant obstacle to my ability to post.
I’m going to make time to talk with my brother-in-law this week and finish specifying what I want on my new computer, so hopefully he can put in the order this week, I get my computer next week, and then I’ll be up and running next week or the week after.
That is my projected timetable, my apologies for the continued delay. When/where possible I will try to make time to post, but work has been hectic lately, so that goal is looking less like a realistic possibility and more like a ‘distant hope’, if you will.
Never fear though, I shall return soon!

Good news everyone. I finally(!) received my laptop yesterday. It took extra long because I was looking for a laptop that ran Microsoft XP. Apparently most laptops these days run Vista, and a lot of them had problems when you loaded XP onto them.
Anyway, I have a wedding this Saturday that I am the MC for, and I have to get the house ready because people are staying at our place, so I’m not sure how much time I will have to update this week, but I will try to get caught up and reacquainted with where everyone is at.

I feel really bad about leaving you guys out to dry, but I kinda had a penetrating head injury (that's doctor talk for "should have gotten a cyberskull, chummer") and posting wasn't really a big priority for a while there.
