Abbandon - Go ahead and post it. Just don't go past Grendel's earlier post where he spots Nevada and Bockscar approaching with the hookers (01:37:06 Saturday, November 1, 2070)

I'm dying to see this post!

Mister Juan - That's what I'm talkin' about. biggrin.gif

Wow.
Well, thank you very much!
I take that as a HUGE compliment wink.gif
Meriss
@All: Okay the only way I can get you to see this thing is if I describe it. I'm going to do my best here.

The Raven

Allright it is going to be at least four or five feet tall, so everyone knows who the hell we are. It's all in burnt brick so it's going to be black, Ink is going to try and pull some fancy shading on some of the elements. The bird it self is a modeled after Hitler's Nazi eagle, but with a raven's beak, the beak is turned to the left wing. There are feathers coming off the bird but not from disease, the feathers as they fall morph into flame. There is a large burning pyre underneath the bird indicating our gangs rebirth.

Okay is that enough for some talented artist type person to do a drawing?

EDIT:
I need to learn how to look. I found some nice inspiration images.

Sweet! I really like this one!
Less Sweet This is the one that made the best impression on me, there are tons more, ditch the swastika for obvious reasons though. Less we wanna tell the Plague and the Outlanders who`s the first on the list. biggrin.gif

Voorhees, Unarmed, Mister Juan – Your post is now up. Sorry if looks like I started slacking around the end. At the 5 page mark I started trying to just wrap it up to keep things moving, I admit. smile.gif

Voorhees – I know I made Aziz a bit more mellow and understanding than he usually is. My rationale was he’s still doped up on drugs from the hospital, mellowing him out and letting his loyal side to his fellow gangers hang out more than it usually might. Plus, I could see from your descriptions of him on the wiki he does really care about the gang, he just doesn’t show it. The trauma of the last few days plus the drugs made him more outwardly caring than normal, but once back in the ‘real world’ (i.e. meeting up with Doc) he returned more to his usual self. If you want me to change anything, let me know.

Mister Juan – I integrated your post into my own, so it should flow fairly well. I presumed that neither Shade nor Aziz has seen Felix’s ‘dark side’ we saw at the end of the 410 Crash, so they tend to be more protective of him, picturing him as the ‘gang mascot’ he was in the 410 Crash. Same thing, if you want anything changed, let me know.

Unarmed – Hope you’re back with us man, Doc just isn’t the same without you playing him. You want anything changed, let me know.

Everyone – OK, everyone is free to post now. Your posts should revolve around regrouping with Legion and Ink, and should be approximately the same time stamp as when Legion notices Bockscar and Nevada approaching. I asked Grendel to change his timestamp to between 02:15:00 and 02:30:00 for continuity so everyone could realistically arrive relatively close to one another. No one should move past around 02:30:00 or so, as you’ll all arrive within about 20 minutes of each other.

Whatever order you post in (in RL) will determine the order your characters arrive. So adjust your posts accordingly, depending on who has posted before you (and thus who has already showed up) Some specific instructions:

Nevada and Bockscar – Don’t forget Legion doesn’t know either of you two, so you’ll have to introduce yourselves and explain what happened to Badmarsh.

Grack and Thumper – Explain whatever you want about finding a new base, or the lack thereof. If necessary, Nevada or Doc can explain the 8 Balls turf well…sucked. There wasn’t much of value there to begin with, and with the destruction of the Gang’s HQ, the best place for a base was destroyed. Most of the other defensible positions were destroyed when the Steel Demons and 405 Hellhounds took out the Side Street Rollers, as a lot of the fighting took place in the 8 Balls turf. Things are pretty barren in this area, there’s no easily occupied base that can be used mostly as is. If you want something solid, you’ll have to create it yourselves. Or go somewhere else.

Fool and Child – Fairly open for you two, since basically you’re simply giving an informative report. You two know the area fairly well too, since you were nearby. You also know there’s not too much worth having/holding in the lower SW corner of Kingsgate. There’s a reason despite having a large geographic area to occupy the 8 Balls and Side Street Rollers weren’t powers, after all.

Aziz, Felix, Doc – We still don’t know if Unarmed is still with us, so feel free to briefly use Doc in your post to introduce the former Splintered Crash members to the rest of the gang.

Legion – Wait until at least all the introductions of the new gangers are complete (Aziz, Felix, Shade, Nevada, Bockscar) and all PCs have gathered (not the same as all players have posted) before moving things forward. I want the whole gang to regroup and everyone to introduce themselves to one another before anything else. After that, it’s your decision to split people up to perform separate tasks or keep the group together. Of course, the other PCs are free to chime in (IC) with their opinions as well.

Also, please change the timestamp of your post on Oct. 9 to between 02:15:00-02:30:00 to help me with continuity.

Ink – Change your most recent post’s timestamp to around where I asked Grendel to change his, to help with continuity.

Injuries – Everyone should modify their condition monitors as follows (I already rolled for everyone where needed to speed things up and gave you all the benefit of the doubt in assuming if it was possible to rest, you were):

Legion – Remove 2 boxes of Physical; this leaves you with Stun 0, Physical 3

Thumper – Remove 3 boxes of Stun; this leaves you with Stun 2, Physical 2

Doc – Remove 4 boxes of Stun; this leaves you with Stun 4, Physical 1

Aziz – Remove 4 boxes of Physical; this leaves you with Stun 0, Physical 5.

Nevada and Bockscar did not have time to rest or heal. Bockscar has Stun 0, Physical 6 and Nevada has Stun 0, Physical 1.

If anyone has any questions, let me know, otherwise you’re all free to start posting. Keep in mind the game is running on ‘real time’, so the other gangs are (and have been) doing things themselves since the game started. Also remember that OOC you know the war is ‘over’ but IC, your characters don’t know that yet. In fact, from pretty much all characters’ points of view, it’s still going on right now. You know we’re in the ‘cleanup’ phase, your characters don’t.

Also remember, the focus right now is on regrouping and introducing yourselves to everyone else. This is essentially the ‘beginning’ of the game. The start of ‘Chapter 1’, if you will, as the prologue has just been concluded. The war is ending, the survivors are gathering, and now the political ramifications are about to begin. The stage is set, the players have been casted, and the game is ready to roll.

Game on everyone! (Again!) smile.gif

Good job with fool. I still cant decide between these two personalities for Fool. One is the talkative annoying guy like you showed. The other is a cold blooded guy who is more dangerous and dark.

I sold Fool as the first one but its hard on me personally to be the butt of jokes and to not be taken seriously. Its going to be a very difficult character to play but im glad we are starting up again! Hopefully as time passes it will all just fall into place.

Meant to respond to this earlier. Why can't he be both? It's perfectly plausible that underneath the talkative annoyingness is a dangerous and dark killer. The disparity in personalities could be deliberate or entirely unintentional.

Perhaps when he reaches a certain point of being the butt of jokes his rage boils over and he takes it out on some poor sap, then chills and goes back to his annoying self. That's just one possibility from dozens, so I don't think you necessarily have to ever draw a line between the two ideas.
Abbandon
I just finished playing Manhunt 2(playsttion 2) so split personalities is very appealing right now hehehe. There are most definately enough stessors around to cause a split....hmmm food for thought.

@edit. Oh man. I was hoping and wanting Felix to just magically explode and do something scary because of all that emotional build up. Like that Talon guy who in the novels who summoned up that hateful spirit. Felix looks like he is a mage instead of a shaman. It would have been cool if he had been a shaman and when he screamed everyone in a decent range around him would hear whatever his totem was screaming. I dont have a clue what a mage would do. I was thinking he would go all nerd and make some scary spell design or something.

I was let down that nothing happened!!

**waits for it**

P.S. Sorry Rob for potentially stealing your thunder in the "Nevada and Bockscar arrive" scene, but I didn't want to wait... plus I just had a nice vision for how I wanted that last little bit to end nyahnyah.gif

And I didn't know what your situation was for posting right now too.
rob
* hands thunder to vegas *. Not a problem. i'll need a receipt for that, though.

Actually, works out with what I wanted to post.

For all concerned, I will have intermittent and random 2-3 day posting delays for the forseeable future.

Vegas and Rob - Per my note to Grendel and Meriss above, please adjust your time/date stamps at the regrouping to some time between 02:15:00-02:30:00 to help me with continuity. Thanks!

Edited my post to fall in line with Meriss' Timestamp for Nevada's first contact with Legion: 02:25:26
WinterRat1
Couple things –

1. Love the posting over the last few days! I can already feel the tension mounting as people drift into the scene and begin interacting with one another. It certainly feels like a gathering of gang survivors, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this thing unfolds.

2. Grendel – I know I asked you to wait and let everyone gather, but given that Adamu’s post has directed a large amount of focus to what Legion does next, go ahead and start posting. Just don’t physically disperse the gangers (IC) before Fool and Child return.

3. Anyone heard anything from Unarmed yet?

4. Everyone – Feel free to post in response to Grack’s latest actions. However, at this point everyone should be careful not to jump the story/situation too far forward and be careful not to take too much control of anyone else’s character in your post, since this could unfold lots of different ways, and I want everyone to retain autonomy over how their characters will participate as this plays out.
Vegas
I attempted to IM Unarmed when I saw he was logged in the other day, but I got no response (he was away...) I'll keep trying to catch him.
Abbandon
Sorry if I stepped on your toes Lindt but i wanna be at the party hehehe.
WinterRat1
No that's the kind of initiative we need, I'm glad you took it. If Lindt has a problem with it, we can always 'flashback' the relevant parts, since it was highly unlikely Lindt was going to veer off and do something material we actually needed to play out. I'd rather have to adjust and edit things than have nothing to work with in the first place. Good job Abbandon.
WinterRat1
Quick update: I got a hold of Grendel and the reason he hasn’t posted yet is because he’s been in the field the past few days without internet. He should have more regular internet access from now on, so he should be caught up and running again within a week or so.

I don’t want to take control of Legion now because obviously how he responds could have a huge impact, especially at the moment. Plus this scene is setting the stage for the gang formation and a large chunk of how the game unfolds in the near future. So I’d really prefer to leave that up to Grendel to actually play out.

Everyone can feel free to keep playing as they’ve been doing, even the Legion/Nevada/Grack conversation can get around Grendel’s absence for a few posts by having Nevada’s reaction played out before Legion can respond (which I would imagine will be something along the lines of ‘hell no!’). So by all means, please keep the ball rolling everyone!
Abbandon

Can I just say for the record....

"Hot DAMN I love this game."
Unarmed
Hey guys,

Sorry I've been down and out recently, but unfortunately my internet has been spotty lately and I just started a new job that doesn't give me internet access during the day. That said, I am back and am hoping to post tonight. I'm excited that the game is back, and what you guys have been doing looks really great.

Seriously. Go for it. Child is the quite observing type anway.

On a more serious note, I finally have a job again, so I should be able to get my personal life back in the proper direction.

Also, can I get an idea of who has what as far a rides right now? I know Aziz and Doc at least both have bikes.
Vegas
Nevada's got a bike.
Mister Juan
Felix also has a bike, which is currently stashed somewhere around the old Splintered Crash turf.

I'd also like to state that this game is damn awesome! I spent most of my day thinking "I can't wait to read the next post!"
Meriss
Heck yes! I agree, this game rocks on toast!

That being said it's about time to bring Ink outof his artistic state. And into his party hearty state.
WinterRat1
Unarmed and Lindt - Glad life's turned around in a way that you two will be able to be more involved in the game, it's great to have you both with us!

Also, Shade has a bike, also stashed around the old Splintered Crash turf.

Mister Juan - I know I owe you that PM! My bad on that. I will get it to you ASAP.

From Grendel to me via email on Nov. 15:

QUOTE
Working on a military network that has the dumpshock.com site blocked.  In about a week I should have access to a network which will allow me out to the forums.

Given the rather pivotal point at which the game is currently at, I'm going to give him until after the Thanksgiving break to post. I figure next week will generally be slow for posting anyway, so the delay is no biggie.

If we don't hear anything from Grendel by Nov. 26 or so (more than a week after his self-projected return) I'll post something to keep the game moving without robbing the game and group of the opportunity to play out the Grack-Nevada-Legion scenario.
Abbandon
Well that sucks for grendel and for us but im glad the game isnt being held up by a lack of interest so take your time Grendel.
adamu
Not only that, but as far as I'm concerned anyone putting their tail on the line for their nation's armed services deserves all the slack we can cut them. I'm certain I'm far from the only person who feels that way.
Meriss
Agreed.
Fresno Bob
Roger that.
WinterRat1
Grendel just emailed me his post, which I posted for him. So the Legion post that just went up is not mine, it's his. Just so you all know I didn't take control of Legion.

He reports his access to Dumpshock will be spotty, but he will try and keep it up.

Please note that due to RL factors and other things, the time stamps probably don't mesh perfectly, so I went with the most recent time as the time Legion acted. Don't read too much into it and assume it was hestiation/reluctance/cowardice/whatever on Legion's part. I just used the last time stamp because all the recent posts were reflecting on the building tension in the Grack-Legion-Nevada situation, so it didn't make sense for that to start unfolding before everyone could size up the situation.

As it stands, Grendel's Legion post is the last thing to have happened, and for whatever reason has happened after everyone has had a chance to react to the building tension. So just read Grendel's posts, don't read too much into the timestamps involved, since they're due more to RL factors than anything in game.

Posting is still open to all. Have at it!
Abbandon
"He saw a motley collection of weaklings and boy-lovers"

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHhahahaha. That was to funny!!

Thanks for the patience guys, I'm working to resolve this situation. I really like this game as well, more than I thought I would when WinterRat1 first suggested it. I know that I've got a central role to play as well, so I'm trying to keep up with things. Good posts all around, by the way.
adamu
Forget all the color codes....

@Winter - although the confrontation is over, still maintaining the spell until further notice.

@Grendel et al - not sure if we have anything concete coming up in terms of things to do. If there is some task someone wants Grack to actually perform, all well and good.
But as long as people are milling around talking, he is likely to get bored and slip off on his own - many things to be done.
So let me know if there are any specific requests/reasons not to go get some things done.
WinterRat1
All - Situation with Grack being (sort of) resolved, don't forget many of you have to report in with what you did or did not find. So in addition to role-playing/discussing/pledging loyalty and the like, reporting is probably the next thing that should be done, since that will probably produce concrete things to do.

If you choose to slip off though, you can. I have stuff that I have hanging in the background waiting to happen...bwaahahahahahhahaahhahahahaha vegm.gif

I mean, I stand ready to move the game forward whenever appropriate. wink.gif
Fresno Bob
Not being an Arabic speaker, I probably mangled it, but "Kiramo bemek, zift!" is supposed to read something like "Suck my dick, scum!"
rob
Bockscar's reply translates to "Don't talk. I speak arabic."

I think the root of the implied argument between Nevada, Aziz and Bockscar is the vague shadowtalk on the forum implying mysterious higher powers behind Evergreen heights. That doesn't make sense to me (or, at least, that they would have response capacity or a big vested interest).

Knowledge skill roll for bockscar - has anyone screwed with or tried to occupy evergreen in the recent past? Did they get jacked? How?

Intuition 4 + Redmond Gangs Knowledge 6 = 10 dice, (2,6,6,6,4,5,4,5,1,5) = 6 hits. Somehow.
Vegas
Evergreen is on Nevada's old turf therefor I'm taking some assumptions and liberties to run with the fact she might have a better handle on what does go on and what HAS gone on in the past...(WR feel free to to reign me in if I'm overstepping my bounds)

And yeah I'm going off the info on the wiki, but really even ignoring the "shadowtalk" stuff at the end, there's still a good question in the "facts" about the place that Slippy isn't the head Troll, just the manager of sorts. And *someone* has put enough money into it (for the electricity, food and matrix service alone) that they'd want to protect that interest regardless if there's a bigger name behind it (Mafiia, Yaks, etc.)

I'm not trying to make Slippy "bigger than life" or anything, just more of a head's up to Legion (and anyone else with other assumptions) more than anything else if he's expecting to just stroll on in and take over without either paying up or making a deal for space that we could all encounter some resistance. Not that a few of us are really up for another fight right now wink.gif

I've got a post to throw more of Nevada's $0.02 in there, but I have to run out the door like NOW.. so it won't be up till later biggrin.gif
WinterRat1
To everyone’s knowledge (this includes Nevada/Doc’s knowledge of Evergreen from it being on their turf, Bockscar’s knowledge skill roll, any other sources of knowledge any of you have) no one has screwed with or tried to occupy Evergreen without paying or by force in the recent past. No one knows why, it just hasn’t been tried. To the best of everyone’s recollections, whoever tries to jack/forcibly occupy Evergreen will be the first.

Note that at least part of it is probably because Evergreen does have some security on hand. Slippy is a troll, and he does have some hired muscle to back him up. The muscle isn’t part of any particular gang; they’re just muscle that works there and keeps the peace in exchange for a place to crash.

They aren’t supremely badass, but they’ve apparently been tough enough to keep any trouble out of the Evergreen so far. So the security is probably reasonable, both with respects to quality and quantity. Not overwhelming, but there is some there, and so far it’s been enough.

It probably helps too that even in the Barrens, ‘don’t drek where you eat’ still holds true. Fighting in places where a lot of people live tend to make a lot of people very angry, and for most Barrens dwellers, fighting over shelter isn’t high enough on their priority list to deal with the hassle. Fighting over sex, drugs, booze, chips, and money is much more worthwhile.

That answer everyone’s questions?
Meriss
And as the author of the shadowtalk, I was only trying to inject some mystery into Evergreen Heights. Honestly I don't know who or what was behind the scenes in Unarmed's mind. Unarmed, care to field this one?
WinterRat1
All – Just so we’re clear, it doesn’t matter what Unarmed and Meriss’s original intentions were. The shadowtalk has been posted, and the entry was written by Unarmed in such a way as to leave a high level of ambiguity in your minds regarding the Evergreen. Since the game is already up and running, I can do whatever I please with the hooks given without regard for whatever the specific (but unstated) intentions of the original authors were. Of course, if they feel REALLY strongly about it one way or the other, I’m opening to discussing it via PM with them, but by and large I think it’s better if you all don’t know the real story. After all, if you want to know the truth, certainly I’m not stopping you from finding out, one way or another. ork.gif

We are now seeing the results of both the Shadowtalk and the Location Entry, which is to give fertile grounds for an IC discussion debating the nature of Evergreen. In other words, they’ve done exactly what they were supposed to do!

You have taken information that is common to everyone and drawn differing conclusions, and are now arguing about those conclusions. That is crystal clear evidence that all the preparation we did has had a material impact on the game, even in the little details of how each of you sees the different locations in the world.

I’ve told you all what your characters know for certain; the differing beliefs they have as a result of those facts are what make role-playing fun! So by all means keep having this discussion, because it’s really entertaining, especially from a GM standpoint. Great role-playing all around! smile.gif
rob
Wellp, you summarized the relevant in character common knowledge well enough for me. Bockscar will, therefore, continue to advocate his position with tact and respect.
Vegas
So much for being "better"... Got hit with round 2 of the flu/ebola/whatever it is again today. Fever, aches, chills and general dizziness (more so than usual)... May not be around much till after Wed. between getting ready for another show (assuming I'm healthy) and trying to fight off this crap. I'm chugging the vitamin C and airborne as much as possible, it'd be nice if I could manage more than a couple hours of sleep in there too.

Just another update as to why I'm being so flaky lately. And my apologies if you're seeing this a million times in all the games we're in together.
Abbandon
I guess Fool will just stand there with his thumb up his butt. Did somebody cast an invis spell on me??
Mister Juan
Don't worry man wink.gif Felix knows he's there... just too shy to talk to him nyahnyah.gif
WinterRat1
If it makes you feel better, Legion didn't address Felix, Child, or Shade either. Pretty much all the people who didn't speak up are assumed to fall into line, I guess. smile.gif
adamu
Infiltration test to be moving as quietly and in the shadowsy as possible.

Skill + Specialization + Attribute - 2 for sustained spell = 6 dice

4 5 2 4 5 1 = 2 successes
