Sithney, should we sync Jovan's clock with the rest of the team's, or just let Jovan be far down the tunnel behind the dog by the time Prof/ZO/Ferret actually arrive in the room?

Basically, all you need to do before you can sync up the time is decide what you'll be doing with the dog. It won't stay under your control for long, and even under your control, you don't know whether it will attack the others or not when they show.

I'm going to apply an -2 to each subsequent influence test to kind of reign that in. So, kill it, cage it, or KO it, and we should be able to move on.
Sephiroth
Got it. I had forgotten that it might attack the others upon spotting them. Let's allow the dog to lead Jovan little more in pursuit of Archer and get that passageway entrance at least pinpointed, then Jovan and the air spirit will kill it.
Saint Sithney
The dog should be scratching at the sewer entrance. The dog is in the way of getting through it though.
Sephiroth
Ah, ok. Do you want an assensing roll to try to locate where their astral forms would be able to slip through, or would that be a waste of time?

Here is another assensing roll for looking around further down the tunnel, if needed: Int. 6 + Assensing 2 - BC 1 + Devoid of other living traffic 2 (?) + Barren background illumination 1 = 10d6.hits = [6,6,6,1,4,4,1,4,6,4] = (4)

EDIT: That was from memory as I am AFB atm, so forgive me if I got something wrong.
pbangarth
Professor does a scan of the area in the astral. Here's his perception roll there:

INT 9 + Perception 4 = 13 dice ==> 5 HITS

If there is something that needs more, he will Assense that.
Warlordtheft
Zo's examining of the room:

15 dice (10 from skills and attributes +2 from Perceptive quality + 3 from actively searching)
15d6.hits(5) → [5,4,4,6,3,3,5,5,4,4,5,4,2,1,6] = (6)
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3487700/

AFB-IIRC actively searching is a +3, could be wrong though. Note has thermogrphic in his glasses as well as ultrasound sights on his AK-97.

pbangarth
I'll wait to post till we hear about the troll.
Warlordtheft
Just wating on Oz at the moment my self.
pbangarth
Yeah, it's from Oz that we would have to hear what Jovan is telling us.
pbangarth
Hmmm.... I have no idea how long it has been since Professor Boosted his AGI and REA, but it must be time for him to do a Drain resistance test as they drop. He'll also take two simple actions while in the big room to re-Boost himself.

Drain Resistance: DV 1S, twice

WIL 5 + BOD 4 = 9 dice, twice ==> 1 HIT, 3 HITS No Drain.

Re-Boost AGI, then REA:

MAG 6 + Power Focus 4 + Boost (Attribute) 1 = 11 dice, twice ==> 1 HIT, 3 HITS

==> AGI now 4, REA now 6, so Initiative now 15
Notsoevildm
@Saint:
Ferret is going to keep his scan program running in AR, looking for hidden nodes. If he doesn't find any after a minute or so, he will simply try to open one of the trucks. If they are locked, he will see if he can hack one via it's maintenance link using the old fashioned but still effective direct fibre cable connection through his datajack.

Scanning: EW 4 + Scan 3: 7d6.hits(5)=3, 7d6.hits(5)=2, 7d6.hits(5)=4, 7d6.hits(5)=2, 7d6.hits(5)=3, 7d6.hits(5)=3, 7d6.hits(5)=2
pbangarth
Wow. Actually checking to make sure these trucks are the ones we want. Alright. We have a thinker in the group.
Saint Sithney
Oh man, things are really picking up in here and I'm away on holiday now.. I'll try and catch up.

Updates.

Zo finds no traps or hidden ghouls around the garage.

Ferret's scans pull up no active nodes. Jacking into the trucks reveals that they've both been disabled and will not start.

Checking the trucks shows them to be loaded with several tons of arms and ammo. A number of crates have been removed, but not so many as to really devalue the load.
pbangarth
If Professor were to learn/be told that BDLL is in medical trouble, he could go give First Aid to Big Daddy.
Red-ROM
wow guys!

I was almost moved to tears to see this game up and running. Thanks for picking up the slack Saint! Sorry I dropped off the planet. I've changed houses and jobs and all kinds of crazy stuff. Keep up the good work fellas! I'm gonna read up on what's happening. I always thought Saint was more equipped to run this game than me. I got real bogged down in combat and such. It'll be fun to see where the story goes now that I don't know what's gonna happen!
pbangarth
Good to see you around, Red-ROM! We're having a great time!

Folks, I'll be away from a computer till Tuesday evening, so if the story needs to progress, Professor can support the team up here or try to get to Big Daddy to heal him a bit and maybe get him unhooked. (And hopefully not get caught in the suddenly flooding sewer line Saint is holding close to his chest.)
pbangarth
It looks like we are in two time frames a minute apart. Am I out of synch?
Warlordtheft
My roll to see if Zo can figure out what is wrong with the trucks.

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3509739/

3d6.hits(5) → [4,4,3] = (0)

Hey at least I didn't electrocute myself... grinbig.gif

PS:Seph, please post soon, you're almost a week--don't want to lose you!
pbangarth
Thanks for picking up on Professor's indecision. I'm trying to make him look like a fish out of water... not me.

Oh geez, I am, aren't I? I'll get on that. Thanks for the reminder.

also holy hell Red-ROM, you're alive!

hehe, I feel like I've been through eight levels of hell since the Holidays, but I have a new job that seems to be a little more sane than the last one, I've got through buying a house and getting my townhouse rented. And survived some medical type stuff I don't want to get into here.

The game is going awesome! and most of the team is still alive! you guys kick ass. I like Glyph too, from another game or two we were in together. This is the furthest I've ever seen a game get on Dumpshock. It's pretty exciting. I was expecting to get back on here and find it long dead. Post or Die started as sort of a cynical joke from a frustrated player, and here it is, running like an Energizer bunny.
Warlordtheft
It was a little touch and go during the holidays. Glad to see your still around. As the resident GM of shadowrun in my local group, the is realistically my only outlet to play as PC (time constraint mostly).
Saint Sithney
Hey guys. Sorry about all the dead air. I've been vacationing and, apparently that means taking some time off from pbp as well.

I'll be back with some serious posting tonight or tomorrow.
Glyph
At the moment, Void is still waiting on a reply from the agent. So he is kind of frozen in time, and I have already done an "introspective/while-he's-waiting" post. He can stay stuck until you want to bring him fully into the game; I just didn't want you to think I'd forgotten about this game.

Yeah, sorry about the lag Glyph. I was hoping we could get through this bit faster than we have.

If you have any questions, IC or OOC, to ask or any prep-work to do, there's a possibility for that.
Glyph
Null sweat. Just didn't want anyone thinking I'd forgotten about the game. Void's preparations should probably be fairly simple, beyond the first hurdle of transportation (he will probably get a cab if the agent can't do anything for him).
Warlordtheft
Seph--Did you manifest or did you just poke Professor astrally and then assumed he'd go dual (if he can).
Notsoevildm
I doubt he would manifest. He's still trying to keep the fact that he's a vampire (nosferatu) a secret from the rest of the team!
pbangarth
Professor is astrally aware at the moment, keeping watch over the proceedings at the trucks. So Jovan needed only to travel astrally there to communicate with him. Jovan didn't actually have to buzz Professor to get his attention.
Sephiroth
If Jovan did manifest within audible distance of the others, it would probably be inside a wall or behind a door or something paranoid like that. I was considering having him manifest inside ZO, since he's probably bigger and bulkier than skeletal old Jovan is and would thus be able to cover up Jovan's facial features rather well (plus it would confuse everyone to hear someone else's voice coming out of ZO's mouth and not syncing with the movement of his lips, especially ZO). nyahnyah.gif

Sorry, I was not aware that the prof was astral already. My bad.
Saint Sithney
Going to want a perception test from Zo, with a -2 penalty.
Warlordtheft

Perception at -2 is 10 dice.

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3523279/
10d6.hits(5) → [1,1,6,2,5,3,3,6,1,1] = (3)

Here you go!

Am I dead yet? grinbig.gif
pbangarth
Professor absent-mindedly checks the state of the metal of the sewer grate, bolts and pipe (I don't think Analytic Mind or Analytics helps here):

LOG 5 + Materials Science 2 = 7 dice ==> 3 HITS
Warlordtheft
@St.--Regarding the trailer doors, I assumed they were maglocked at the very least. I'll wait next time until you tell me what the trailers locks are like before I start cutting. smile.gif

Nope. You notice a slack-wire trap.
Opening the door enough to get your arm in, but not enough to make it taught, you unhook it.
The other end of the wire is hooked up to a string of grenades taped to the inside of the door.

If you had just opened it without noticing, there would have been complications.. cyber.gif

All standard plastisteel. The sewer is only a few decades old, and the plastisteel doesn't show any signs of degradation from the chemical waste.

Well, the handles or the lock could have been trapped, so I figured just cutting the restraining bolts would be a bit brutish, but not ineffective. Only issue being that the lock holds the door closed. But w/e, just throw some chains on the mother.

That said, Ferret or Oz could rip a maglock down in a matter of seconds with the tools around.
Warlordtheft
@St: I need a description of the interior of the trailer. How many grenades were in string and are they recoverable?
pbangarth
I figure Professor will need to give a good tug to get BDLL out of the pipe to minister to him, though it isn't actually a lift. So here's a STR + BOD Test:

BOD 4 + STR 4 = 8 dice ==> 4 HITS
Saint Sithney

@St: I need a description of the interior of the trailer. How many grenades were in string and are they recoverable?

Three grenades, HE, recoverable. Just held there with tape really.

The truck is packed with boxes, each of them a black case three feet long and a foot and a half wide. There are about 15 of them missing with probably 300 more in the truck.
Warlordtheft
Perception at +2 (actively searching the boxes for more traps) is 14 dice.

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3529366/
14d6.hits(5) → [6,6,3,4,3,1,6,5,6,2,4,3,4,1] = (5)

Let me know what I find and if safe, I'll open one of the boxes up.
pbangarth
Big Daddy looks to be in real trouble. Professor will use First Aid on him right here. I've lost track of Professor's Edge count, but Saint's top of the thread post shows us all at full Edge, so I'll go with that. I'll see what the roll is first.

First Aid Test: LOG 5 + First Aid 1(Yeah, what's your point?) + medkit 6 - Bad conditions (not 'fire, severe storm' but certainly 'swamp'-like) -3 = 9 dice ==> 3 HITS

Yeah, I'll use Edge to reroll misses: 6 dice ==> 2 HITS

5 hits total, for a net of 3 hits. Hopefully, that will keep him alive.
Saint Sithney

No other traps. Each box contains one Colt M23, two empty magazines, a cleaning kit, and an instruction chip (a limited firearms maintenance knowsoft). The street value (selling it as stolen goods) of this container alone is more than the payout you're expecting.
Warlordtheft
@St, just confirm we are getting paid 10,000 nuyen for this job. I know street value is different from book value so what is the mark-up on this? IIRC the M23 is the stock version without the grenade launcher, wich base price is about 800 nuyen (for a markup of about 1200%). Also, slotting the instruction chip-what are the features of this gun (Smartlink, built in mods, etc, etc).

Saint Sithney
Just a stock assault rifle. SA/BF/FA 6P -1AP 40© no recoil compensation.

Finding someone to fence the guns to would be a job in itself, but selling them at 30% of the store price would net more money than completing the job.
Warlordtheft
I've got black market connections so that would not be a problem. However I'm not into royally screwing the J over easy as I don't think that is a good runner career move. smile.gif
Saint Sithney
Oz is going to try a vehicle design test to see if he can figure out what the trucks need in order to run again.

12d6.hits(5) → [5,3,5,3,4,6,6,3,6,6,2,2] = (6) He knows immediately and can fix it without plans or blueprints.

Saint Sithney
Surprise looking to beat 18d6.hits(5) → [1,1,2,5,3,5,1,5,2,2,4,2,3,4,5,2,1,4] = (4) Four if you want to act in the first pass when the spirit manifests.

Oz rolls surprise and Init.
9d6.hits(5) → [1,3,3,4,5,2,5,4,5] = (3)
9d6.hits(5) → [4,1,2,1,3,3,2,2,1] = (0)

Surprised on Pass 1, goes on 9.

Notsoevildm
Ferret doesn't go fast in meatspace!

Surprise: 8d6.hits(5)=1 - did that corpse just say 'off with his head'!
Initiative: 8 + 8d6.hits(5)=2 = 10, 1 IP
pbangarth
Professor rolls Surprise and Init:

Surprise: INT 9 + REA 6 = 15 dice ==> 4 HITS, not surprised, but fucked if I know what to do here!

Initiative: 15 dice ==> 5 HITS = 20

No, Notso, it was "off with their heads." And I don't think that thing is a corpse.

So, does Professor's Initiative beat the spirit's? Maybe it's time to draw her attention. At least Professor can dodge this pass. And hell, I haven't lost a PC in a long time.
