How's a fella get on the waiting list? I've got a dwarven face/generalist I'd like to submit for your consideration...I'll post her "resume" shortly.
Bio:
[ Spoiler ]
Amber Frost was, until recently, a corporate wageslave. Or so it appeared. While she held her position in sales at EVO, she had long since been seconded to their Internal Security division. She was trained in a number of areas entirely foreign to the rest of her chummers in Sales, and put back into circulation to work the company from the inside, doing counterintelligence work.
This state of affairs lasted for a few years, but the job was terrifically boring, especially all of the sales work she had to keep up on, so she made a break for it. She managed her own extraction and left the loving embrace of EVO to set up shop for herself. She knows she doesn't have all the skills she needs to get started, and most of her contacts have dried up with her sudden change of situation, but she's got herself set up with a swank little condo in Capital Hill, and she's looking for a team to help her make her dreams come true.

50 Questions:
[ Spoiler ]
1. What is your character's Sex?
Female
2. What is your character's physical size?
Amber is short and, for her metatype, skinny. Her life in the corporation, in sales, she fought hard to try to be “more human” to fit in with the rest of the sales teams. When she joined Internal Security, she was forced to continue the facade, and it has stuck with her since.
3. What is the color of the character's hair, eyes, and skin?
She could not be any more average. Brown hair, medium length and in a current style, brown eyes, caucasian complexion. Her colleagues at IntSec were jealous of how well she could blend in anywhere. It was the first time she’d ever felt special about her appearance.
What is the character's general appearance (i.e., How does she dress, etc.)?
Most of the time, Amber is dressed in the same sort of gear she wore back at EVO - her suits are all subtly armored, because she believes in being prepared at all times. On the job, she tends to need to wear the same thing - her “corporate camouflage” - then as well, but has been known to don a more “battle friendly” outfit if a more stealthy infiltration is required.
5. Where was the character born (City, State, Hospital Name)?
She was born in Denver, but her parents moved the family to Seattle when her mother took a position with Yamatetsu. The hospital where she was born was Platte Valley Medical Center - they were an area favorite for metahumans in the UCAS portion of the city.
6. What is the character's date of birth?
December 1st, 2036
7. What was the character's family life like?
Amber had a very normal corporate upbringing, where she was something of a cypher. Slightly above average in every academic area in school, but a center of attention, being outgoing, gregarious and friendly. Her parents are still alive, and living in Seattle. Her mother left service with Yamatetsu and her parents opened up a fabric store in a relatively safe area north of Seattle proper, but not yet outside of UCAS territory. Amber tries to stay away as much as possible, now that she’s taken on a life that’s likely to cause them trouble.
8. Has the character begun her own family?
Not remotely. She is exercising greater freedom of action in terms of dating and the like now that she’s not under the thumb of EVO.
9. Where or how was the character educated?
High school level training through the corporate schools. Took a technical degree in marketing. Trained subsequently in stealth, infiltration, and general social skills, at which she excelled.
10. Has the character ever done anything else for a living?
Evo salesperson, sales manager, and finally Internal Security operative for EVO.
11. What are the character's political and religious beliefs?
Her parents never pushed a religion on her, nor did she encounter much pressure one way or another in the corporate environment. She’s conversant enough with christianity and with many of the newer religious movements that she can at least speak about them intelligently so that she can carry her end of a conversation. Her political beliefs tend towards the socially liberal and the fiscally conservative, but generally moderate.
12. Describe the character's moral code. Include how mercenary she is, whether or not she'll kill innocents, etc.
Amber doesn’t let on to her associates, but she has thus far been able to refrain from killing anyone either in her previous corporate life, or on a run. She will do what needs doing to ensure that she continues to enjoy the high lifestyle that she has become accustomed to, as well as to support her Bliss habit. The two, combined, are expensive, and so her morals often have to take a back seat to expediency and need. That said, she would not kill without reason, nor would she feel comfortable doing so if there was another way. Innocents are off limits, though she’s not been pushed or felt the pinch of not enough nuyen to cover all the bills.
13. What are the character's goals?
Amber is living for the moment right now, reveling in the freedom of being a free agent. She would like, one day, to be able to retire somewhere nice, but that feels a long, long way off.
14. Why does the character run the shadows? (Why does she run the shadows still, rather than getting a "real" job?)
Her “real” job was so *boring* to her. Yes, she was spying, but honestly nobody ever did anything more interesting than petty larceny or the occasional moral lapse. The streets, on the other hand, make her feel alive like she never has in her life before.
15. What kind of personality does your character have? This should not necessarily be obviously stated in the background, as it is more important for actually playing the character, but it may color or add mood to the history.
Amber’s a party girl. She loves to dance, and to get mellow on Bliss, and to get it on. At 36, wearing her high fashion clothes, she’s not your average party girl, but her uptight life in the corp has left her aching for a change. She laughs, often and loudly. She flirts outrageously, regardless of who she’s talking to. She’s in a very experimental time in her life, living on the edge.
16. What special qualities does the character possess? This does not refer to skills, but rather to other things, such as how she gets along with people, whether she plans ahead, etc.
She can make anyone feel like she really likes them, cares about them, and is listening intently and with her heart. She is an instant friend, and can turn her charm off and on like a flip of a switch. In all honesty, she’s self-absorbed most of the time, but she’s good at what she does.
17. Are there certain things that the character can't or won't do? Why?
Children are off limits. It’s never come up before, but she’ll walk out on a Johnson who wants her to involve children in the run.
18. What things, people, or ideas does the character hate?
She’s too frivolous right now to hate anyone. She has a certain distaste for trolls, as they’re *so* large and she’s small. She dislikes the Humanis racists, but mostly thinks they’re stupid, backward and small-minded.
19. What things, people, or ideas does the character love?
Dancing, drinking, music, parties, flirting, and putting one over on someone who thinks they’re smarter than she is.
20. What is the character's name? Give both full birth name, as well as nicknames, street names, etc.
Amber Marie Frost. She currently goes by Amber in the shadows, but carries six alternate IDs that she can shift into with remarkable ease.
21. Determine what your character used to do, before becoming a shadowrunner (very important).
Sales person co-oped into Internal Security at EVO.
22. Decide why your character left her old job, if she had one (also important).
Boredom, pure and simple.
23. Come up with a reason for why the character became a shadowrunner. (This very often will tie in with #22. This is not the same as #14, but rather why she started running the shadows originally. What led her to it?)
Internal Security was always going on and on about how sneaky these runners were and how you had to watch out for them, and it really romanticized the job for Amber. She knew it sounded like a more fun way to use her skills and her ‘ware, and to enjoy it more.
24. How did your character come to know her contacts? Contacts are an important part of Shadowrun, decide how and why you know them.
Most of Amber’s contacts dried up when she left EVO. What she has left include Jerry Reardon, a security rigger she worked with at EVO. He was quite sweet on her, and helped her clandestinely when she arranged for her own extraction from the corporation. She’s maintained her contact with him through back channels. Leapus McHugh is a former lover, and she sweet talks him into helping her with information on ongoing and archived investigations. Finally, when her tiny tin of Bliss is empty, she turns to Benny, a guy she met at Dante’s Inferno who turned her onto the drug in the first place. She gets her money’s worth out of him, pumping him for info, and he’s a useful small-scale fence to boot.
25. Does the character have a SIN? Does the character actually use it? Or is the character one of the SINless masses? This may be affected by the character's previous employment.
She does have a SIN, in addition to her six fakes. She does not use it as there’s a lifetime of records that EVO holds on her, and she’d rather not draw attention to herself. She will use it from time to time, like when she does visit her parents.
26. Is the character a full-time shadowrunner? Or does the character lead a Batman-like double existence?
Part time runner, to finance her high life when she’s not running.
27. Which person(s) or group(s) do you love the most?
She’s intrigued by the Ork Underground to the point of it nearly being a fetish. It all stems from a series of documentaries she saw when she was a teenager. She has a soft spot in her heart for those short-lived folks, and finds their stories compelling.
28. Which person(s) or group(s) do you hate the most?
Boring people!
29. Which person(s) or group(s) do you respect the most?
Famous, flashy, outgoing runners. She’s an avid P2.0 watcher when she has downtime.
30. Which person(s) or group(s) do you fear the most?
EVO, concerned that they’re still mad at her for leaving.
31. What is your favorite colour?
Red is her very favorite, but she loves all jewel tones.
32. What is your favorite food and/or drink?
To keep herself thin, she tends to skip meals in favor of coffee when she can get it, soykaf more often.
33. What place would you most like to visit?
She was able to visit the Caribbean Federation once, as a girl, and she has dreams of returning to white sand beaches again.
34. Which person(s) or group(s) are you most loyal to?
Her immediate friends. She is protective of her parents, but does her best to keep them out of the seedier side of her life.
35. What pastime (that you participate in regularly) gives you the most enjoyment?
Dance clubs.
36. What pastime (that you participate in regularly) gives you the least enjoyment?
Paying the bills. The sense of letdown after a little sniff of Bliss wears off.
37. What annoys you the most?
Mundane day to day activities. That’s why she has hired help for things like laundry and cleaning.
38. What (if any) is your favorite form of art?
Realist painting.
39. What is your greatest goal?
To be independently wealthy.
40. What do you think is your characters best quality?
Her smile. It’ll make you fall in love with her.
41. What do you think is your characters worst quality?
Her superficiality - she’s not serious about much of anything when she’s off the job.
42. What is the most important thing you have ever done?
Getting out of the corp and starting to really live her life.
43. Which religion (if any) do you follow?
None at all.
44. What is your most treasured possession (and why)?
She has a digital scrapbook full of pictures and videos that she’s collected from all of her adventures through the nightlife of Seattle. She particularly loves the picture, with audio signature, of her with Nadia Mirin.
45. What are your three most common dreams?
The one where she shows up to a high powered meeting in her underware. A nightmare that she gets spotted in a compromised position by EVO operatives. The one where she can fly.
46. What is the Character's current relationship with her family?
Cautiously distant, lest they get hurt. Generally positive. They don’t know she’s escaped the corp.
47. If the character's family is still alive, what do they do, and where do they live?
North side of Seattle, running a store, and enjoying semi-retirement.
48. Where did the character learn her Skills?
The most useful ones, she learned in special schools to be part of Internal Security.
49. Does the character have a good luck charm? What is it, and why?
Nope. She doesn’t really believe in luck. Skill is usually enough.
50. What type of music does the character like?
Techno, with a heavy bass and a sexual undertone. Music that, when you stand near the PA, the bass ripples through your body and you can feel it in your insides. Anything danceable.
