Heh, thanks. I re-read that thing three times to catch the bugs; guess I still missed one smile.gif

Oh, and WR (grendel too probably)-
[ Spoiler ]
grendel
Eyes: I figured it was something along those lines. It works and looks good, run with it.
WinterRat1
Eyes - Or maybe no one remembered because it was a three years ago! nyahnyah.gif

Great idea, I love it. I agree with Grendel, go ahead and run with it.
Sedna
Interpretation issues, I think, have been resolved: so I won't derail this thread further that way.

The swing across, as discussed, into the smoke (catwalk 2).
[ Spoiler ]

Sorry -- until the call, I didn't realise you were waiting on me to finish the previous round ... plus I'm running late: FRAGGING WEATHER!!

(I'll check back in after the power is lost and then regained.)

Hell, apparently *I* didn't even remember! Sorry for the placeholder; I'll fix my post and have it back by tonight.
The_Eyes
*Whew*. Okay, that at least it more-or-less fits into the dialog now.

Man, this is a tough role to play. I thought it'd be easier choosing a personality that was fairly similar to my own, but that's only made it harder because on one hand I keep trying to play up the differences and usually go too far, and then on the other hand I get flustered when events work out wrong or weird because I feel like I'm personally failing at something. Anyone else ever have that problem?

I shoulda just played a hippie rigger or something. smile.gif
WinterRat1
Grendel - Here's a question Sedna asked me, thought I'd plug your real world knowledge of military protocol on this one:

QUOTE
What is Combat Inc's standard (boot camp trained)
method for dealing with someone within the unit who is
under the control of a Control spell? What if it is
the mage of the unit who is the one controlled, or the
first victim of the controlled person?

Any thoughts/help/advice/guideance you can give on this situation?

Warehouse Group - I've got Sedna's stuff, I'll try to update tonight or most likely Sunday. Scrapheap, we're waiting on you.
grendel
I suppose it would depend on who and/or how it was determined that the person was under the control spell. If it was at a security checkpoint, or picked up just by an astral scanning mage/adept, then they would probably rely on disarming the individual, keeping him talking, remind him about basic, strong tenets of belief that would be difficult for a control spell to overcome, long enough for a friendly mage to get there and work some counterspelling. If it was in a combat situation, or the person was actually threatening something or someone, then non-lethal takedown would be the order of the day. If it was the mage that was the victim, then it would probably be more along the lines of non-lethal, non-incapacitating takedown, as they wouldn't want any unbound spirits going berserk if the mage was suddenly rendered unconscious.
WinterRat1
Cedric - Think we might be waiting on you? Not sure if you think I should keep posting or if we should swing it back to Erebus.
bclements
I'm really not dead. I'm getting much better wink.gif

Also grendel:

That last post was...eerie. Break eggs to make omletes eerie.
WinterRat1
Scrapheap and Cedric - I waiting on you two, for the Warehouse Fight and Dragon, respectively.
WinterRat1
Warehouse Group - I sent Scrapheap an email last thursday and a follow up today. If I don't hear from him by Friday I'll move things forward. I say Friday because it always takes me a while to move through all the NPCs and what not, and I probably won't have time to run through all the calculations and put everything up until Friday.
Slipshade
WR1 - Thanks for the update

Sorry for the delay everyone.

Hey BC, trying to roll Negotiation with my specialization in bargaining, if it applies, in parentheses to deal with the Vory:

[ Spoiler ]

If the Vory is obviously not down with paying anything at all, Leo will interrupt to put in what money he has as a down payment.
WinterRat1
Warehouse Group - Update to come this weekend, either Friday, Sat, or Sunday.
Sedna
Just a note to let you know I am monitoring, and ready to post as needed. I will try to get a couple of IC posts in for either late Tues or Thurs, around other deadlines. (Mon/Wed are bad, this week.)

V.2 is underway.

Non-SR general question for everyone:

What, if any, non-fiction books do you think could most use some new writing? Topics NOT under consideration are anything poltical, business, economics, history, biography, or self-help.
WinterRat1
Sorry everyone, I'm a bit under the weather at the moment; other than snappy one liners or very brief replies, I haven't had the time/energy in the last two days to post, especially with a full load at work grinding me down. I'll look to get caught up with everyone ASAP, probably over tomorrow and Wednesday.

Talia - You can do your IC post for your last action if you have time. You did succeed, I'll give more detail on where you ended up when I update the map and start updating the next initiative pass.
WinterRat1
Warehouse Group - A full update will be done either Wednesday or Thursday. I'm taking care of my 'quick' responses to my other games tonight/tomorrow, and setting aside a solid block of time for this tomorrow/Thursday.
WinterRat1
Warehouse Group - I'm sorry guys, the Warehouse Update won't be coming until Friday night. It takes me a solid 2 hours or so to get through everything (wiki, rolls, map update, IC/OOC posts), and I just don't have the time during the week. It is my number one priority on Friday. I'm sorry to keep putting it off like this, but the only things I have time to squeeze in during the week right now are quick couple line replies. frown.gif

Work is hitting the home stretch though (only 1 month left!), so I'll be back up to full speed comparatively shortly.
Sedna
You and me both. I just got 400 pages dumped on me that have to be completed today. Good to be working, but -- yikes.

So make that ... late today.
WinterRat1
Warehouse Group

OK, CT 5 - IP 2 has been posted up to Phase 7, which is when Alleycat acts, and Phase 6, when Slipshade acts. Both of you are cleared to give me your actions and rolls.

Check the wiki for the details, but here are some highlights:

1. Sedna - I need Alleycat to resist another Powerbolt spell, Body only, 5 hits from the caster

2. Scrapheap - I need two Reaction rolls from you; First Attack from B3 had 1 hit, Second Attack from B3 had 3 hits. If you don't dodge completely, give me soak roll(s) as well.

Note that you did hit him with Suppressive Fire (you fired before he dropped prone) but he can still fire back from a prone position.

3. Alleycat is considered to be Prone at the START of CT 5 - IP 2 as a result of her swing from IP 1. The upside is she didn't get shot by the suppressive fire, the downside is she's now suppressed, and if she gets up, she needs to spend an action to do so and risks getting hit as well.

Updated Map will be sent to you shortly, let me know if you have any questions.

EDIT: I won't put up my IC post for IP 2 until I at least have the defense/resistance rolls from above, so I can add the necessary detail. When I do put it up, it will encompass the end of IP 1 (Alleycat's having the gun tossed to her and swinging across to Catwalk 2, landing prone just outside the smoke on the north side). I am working on the IC post for IP 1 right now, which I just realized I did not put up yet. Oops...

If I can get actions and rolls for IP 2 from Alleycat and Max in a reasonable time, I'll post all of IP 2 in my IC post. If I don't get them within a reasonable amount of time, I'll post up to Phase 7/6, Alleycat and Slipshade's actions, and use a 'leading' ending which should transition into whatever you two actually do. I will also edit to add detail after we resolve your actions.

EDIT 2: Sedna, it would still be nice if you could put up a small IC post for Alleycat's IP 1. Thanks.

EDIT 3: Sedna -
[ Spoiler ]
Slipshade
WR1 - Max will continue to run until he sees any hostiles in his way. I will keep all counterspelling on me since I don't know specifically where anyone else is at the moment.

I don't think I will need to roll for anything unless I run into someone.
Scrapheap

WinterRat1
Cedric - Grendel is waiting on you I believe.
WinterRat1
Grendel – I assume Sybersnake put together a dossier on Roberto (a.k.a. ‘The Target’) as well as maps of the roads we need to recon, and our plan of attack that’s already been discussed in depth OOC and IC.

Is that a reasonable assumption before I make my IC post? I don’t want to say Dragon hands the other two a briefing and then uh, he has nothing to hand them. smile.gif
Sedna
Re spoiler: Yes!

Re resisting Powerbolt: Body only? Wouldn't MG be added in there somewhere? (No rules access until I get this contract done.) Also, I take it Alleycat wasn't successful in breaking line of sight from both shooters and assumed mage? (Remember, that was the intent.) Of course, possibly there was a held action awaiting the moment of opportunity.

So, without getting up, Alleycat shoots out all the opposition in a nice wide burst emptying out the magazine, grabs back onto the rope, and swings under the catwalk and up toward the helicopter.

What a useful feature!

(More in twelve hours ... when I finally should be finished editing this shadowrunner's wet dream passing for a novel which firmly believes itself to obey the laws of logic and to have a law-abiding hero ... and then after that, I'll return to Cosmo's volume. spin.gif )

No, it's Body only, plus Counterspelling dice if you had any available, which I don't believe you do.

You broke the shooters LOS, but not the magician. If you look at the map, you landed outside the smoke, so depending on where the magician is, he/she can still see you just fine. Or they could just be astrally perceiving and chucking the Powerbolt in the material plane. Either way. biggrin.gif

And yeah, there might have been a held action involved somewhere in there too.
grendel
Yeah, when Dragon would have given her the go-ahead to prep to recover, she would have compiled a Combat, Inc. standard combat dossier on the operation. It would cover target specifics as well as the operational plan and include all pertinent reconnaissance to date.
WinterRat1
OK cool, after they take the money I'll put up a post for Dragon. I'm just glad I don't have to scroll back and type everything up from all our various notes and stuff again.
Sedna
Hmm ...

This SMG in Alleycat's hand hasn't been fired yet, right? There's no reason then to think that the clip wouldn't be full? How many bullets would such a clip normally have? Any guesses as to the kind of ammo? (based on the kind of damage it's been doing around her?) -- ie. guesstimating its damage code and thinking about what could be done with it.

What kind of recoil compensation does it have?
WinterRat1
20-30 bullets maximum, probably normal ammo, Gas Vent III

She doesn't think it's been fired yet, but if it's not full it's probably pretty close to it.

Those are your best guesses.
WinterRat1
Everyone - Crunch time is now here at work, from now until Apr. 15 my availability is highly up in the air, depending on what my workload is on any given day. I will still do my best to stay current, but be advised I'll be slower until I get out from under tax season.

Grendel and Cedric - I'll try to get an IC post up ASAP.
WinterRat1
Cedric - Anything else you think we need to do or say here at the moment?

Sedna - Waiting on you to finish up this IP of The Warehouse Fight.
Cedric Rolfsson
Nope, I'm good. I can't believe these guys wouldn't be shocked at the security around this airport though.
grendel
Have you read their backgrounds on the wiki yet? It would probably explain why.

Bridger

Shard
Mister Juan
Hey all! I'm just back from out of town, so I'll be catching up on everything as soon as I can!
bclements
It was difficult not to break out the 'Hearty Russian Laughter' phrase in that last post. Hearty GM Laughter did break out smile.gif
bclements
Also, I'll be out of town from Today, April 8 until Friday, April 11. I'll have internet access, and I should be able to get a post in most evenings if necessary.
grendel
I will be down comms from 23 APR 08 until 01 MAY 08 as I end my desert exile and transfer back to home station. Let the games begin!
Scrapheap
Welcome home!
bclements
Glad to see you back over here. Have a safe trip home!
WinterRat1
Grendel/Cedric - If we're done here does someone want to bump us forward?

Should Cedric or myself do it, or did you have something in mind Grendel?
grendel
Either you or Cedric can bump forward. Keep in mind that Bridger and Shard will need an hour to get their stuff ready, so make sure you tell them where you want to rendezvous.
Sedna
Sorry, the last two weeks literally evaporated on me. I slept two hours last night. Deadline tomorrow.

Quick, for now, the defense roll needed:
[ Spoiler ]

I literally have no idea yet what Alleycat is doing -- can,t, until more sleep. It probably will involve a burst of some sort, but need to be able to focus on the map. I put a post-it not on the screen so it won't get overlooked again.

Good to see you back, grendel.
WinterRat1
Cedric - I won't get to an IC post for Dragon for a few days at least, so let's just say whoever gets to it first does it?

I don't know what your schedule is like, but if you have time to throw up a post, by all means go for it. Any particular place you think we should rendezvous with Bridger and Shard?
Cedric Rolfsson
I've got a trial going now, but would it be hard to rent a Low Class apartment near the bridge leading to the air port? We could base Bridger's drones out of a roof top apartment pretty easy and it'd be only for one day.

I'll try and get to something tomorrow afternoon.
WinterRat1

Sounds like a plan to me. That ok with you Grendel?

Sedna - The last week has evaporated on you as well. You're up. smile.gif
grendel
Plan sounds good, cost is standard for low lifestyle apartment, best location is six stories tall.

Back online and up to speed, although I won't resume to full posting speed until 05 May. It's good to be home.
