You can post to an appropriate parking garage. Any first aid you try on Vadim will be at a -3 modifier due to the conditions and his cyberware.
Mister Juan
Will do! I take it Mikhail doesn't answer? If not, Ludi will simply leave a message (which I'll write in don't worry)
grendel
He won't answer right away, but he'll call back in five or ten minutes while she's still at the parking garage smoking/tending to Vadim's wounds.

Ta-da! Our (original) wiki (litsproject.wikispaces.com) has been granted the lovely ability to accept more users until August 7th, 2014.

Just my way of saying "thanks" for letting me be a part of this crazy little world, and to make it so MJ didn't have to replicate the wheel on another crappy wiki site wink.gif
Mister Juan
Well I'll be damn!
Mister Juan
@Vegas, Mach_Ten, DeliciousD (I should have just written "Everyone but Grendel...")

I need the following from each of you (about your characters, of course!)
Supporting Cast represents a list of the Major and Minor NPCs you've either created yourself (contacts, family, etc...) and those you've encountered up so far. Just their names are sufficient. I'll also need you to tell me under what "name" do you want your character to be displayed on the wiki. Some chose their runner name (Cosmo, Dragon, Erebus, etc...), other just go with their actual name (Ludmila, James, Leon, etc...). You can either post it here or PM it to me.

Both Remy and Joslyn's wiki pages have been started and their stories copied over, I haven't gotten around to formatting them to the LitS wiki standards yet (I'm only human, I haven't even formatted Mac's story either)

I'll be working on them as I get time, but at least the stories are up. Should be easier to keep everything up to date going forward.

Mister Juan said he'd do up graphics/titles for each of them, but if you guys want to send over the info MJ asked for previously, to me, I can just toss it up there too. biggrin.gif

@Mach_ten what about contacts?

only one, his "Uncle" Danny ... ex family lawyer that has taken a retainer fee to look after his formative years

as his natural parents were Humanis media moguls and an Orken child would have proven .... difficult ? smile.gif

PM me an email addy and I'll send over the history I sent to Grendel

I need some perception rolls from Remy and Joslyn please. If either of them have any skill with interrogation, roll that as well.

Perception
(7d6.hits(5)=2)

Remy would be defaulting on Interrogation (3dice) .. I'm not going to embarrass myself with the attempt
DeliciousD
Perception:

7d6.hits(5)=3

No interrogation here either, good at all the influence group but no interrogation there.
Vegas
This is just not Mac's week, is it wink.gif
grendel
I distinctly remember you telling me her story was going to be dark, violent, and twisted. Careful what you wish for, neh? smile.gif

Anyway, roll me some initiative for Mac.
Vegas
Did I say that? I meant I wanted fluffy clouds, glitter and unicorns that pooped rainbows! wink.gif

7d6 → [3,4,2,5,6,3,2] = (25)

Feel free to drop that last die if she's still operating at a -1 mod, I wasn't sure where we're at with that.
Vegas
@grendel, Is Mac on freeze until we dive into whatever happens next, or are you waiting on a post from me?
grendel
Mac has no current modifiers. 2 hits on 7 dice gives her an initiative of 9, which puts her in the middle of the pack. Alpha (chain), Bravo (knives), and Charlie (pipe) are all facing her, while Delta (brass knuckles) and Echo (empty hand) are behind her.

12: Echo
Complex action: melee attack (2 hits)

11:
10: Bravo
Complex action: melee attack (4 hits)

9: Mac

8: Alpha, Charlie

7: Delta

@Grendel

I'm out of pocket for the next couple of days... running out the door as I type this.

I'd like to have Mac try to move to keep those with weapons within her sight lines, basically taking the risk to turn her back on Echo and as soon as possible have her pull the knife from her boot.

More if/when i have a second in the next 48. Sorry frown.gif

grendel
No worries, but Mac has two melee attacks that she has to deal with first. Reaction + unarmed (+ unarmed/dodge if full defense).
Vegas
Sorry, post yesterday morning was made on about 2 hours of sleep and shows how rusty/inept I am with SR combat. smile.gif

Yes, full defense, dodge. Free action to ready her blade.

Can't remember if I have to roll once, or each time. So just in case...

Full Defense
11d6 → [6,5,3,6,2,3,2,5,5,2,1]
11d6 → [5,3,6,6,3,2,6,2,6,5,6]
DeliciousD
Not sure if taxis will come to this part of Redmond, if they do, Joslyn will order one to take them back to the shop, if not...I guess we'll have find some other transport back to the shop, Remy's pretty big right? I'm sure he's up to carrying me.
Vegas
Just a heads up, I'm still mostly offline for a few more days. frown.gif My hiatus from DSF might be a little longer than I had hoped...
Mister Juan
@grendel
Just saw your post. Sorry!

Wow this game still has legs. Great job everyone. I still play both Professor and Baby (from Down in the Gutter) in other games and enjoy them a lot.

Keep it up!

The doctor's office isn't out in the middle of the barrens so there is still taxi service. Fares will be a bit pricier but a taxi will show up about twenty minutes after Joslyn's call.

You know me, Slipshade, I'll hang in until the bitter end. smile.gif

Also, it's that time again. SR5 has been released, which means that in another month or so we're going to have to go through and redo characters. As soon as I know how the world's going to be impacted I'll push out a schedule and some edits. Hopefully you've all had a chance to take a look at SR5's character creation system. I think we'll be able to do a pretty decent job of approximating our SR4A characters by adding in a bit of extra karma during creation. This won't happen until I'm back from GenCon, though, so you have some time to continue to familiarize yourselves with the new rule set.

I think the only concern anyone has had thus far, when considering conversion at least; is the lack of any splat books with the relevant gear/ware/etc. and the pricing in both Nuyen and essence etc.

I'll be honest and say I haven't had time nor inclination to look yet, hoping to rectify that soon but as with everything else, it's "on the list!" biggrin.gif
Slipshade
So far I like what I see from SR5. I am going to start a TT game soon with it. Good luck guys and gals!

After SR4, I've decided to wait until the hardcopy comes out before picking up SR 5. It's scheduled to be released in dead tree form at/after GenCon, correct?

I'm hoping it's good enough to lure me back into the game on a more regular basis. I'm on a real Shadowrun kick now, especially after Shadowrun Returns. I know there's been some complaints about it, but keeping in mind the larger context of resources available, goals of the project, etc. I was extremely happy with it and had a blast playing it. For about 3 straight days that was all I did...

For those of you who have SR 5, what are your impressions of it, especially as it compares to SR 2/3 (good!) and SR 4 (bad!)?

Oh, and to all the new people, welcome aboard, I hope you're having as much fun with this as many of us have had, once upon a time.
Slipshade
I have been enjoying SR Returns too. I didn't expect much for the cost to produce and have been very happy with it.

I know there's an "official" conversion guide out... I have no clue how well it works tho.

Eh, it's ok on my first pass through. A little vague/confusing however with the new skills replacing some and new/rearranged skill groups...unless that's just my blondness showing through the hair dye wink.gif

Nice to see Slip and WR back in the thread, Hi guys! smile.gif

Oh yeah, I'm back in play (minus the weekends unless I need an escape).
Mister Juan
I forgot to add that today, I read a quote that made me think of Grendel and his gming/storytelling style: "The best stories are built on a pile of corpses"

Don't say that when I'm in the middle of combat MJ! wink.gif

It's nice to see the World GM back posting in the threads he created. smile.gif

SR5 feels very much like SR2 to me, which means that while it may have fixed some of the glaring problems with SR4A, it's probably opened a few new cans of worms what will have to be dealt with. And, as Mach_Ten noted, we're once more starting out with just the basic book for gear, augmentations, spells and vehicles. It'll be a desert stuff wise probably until the first sourcebooks start hitting the streets next year. I haven't actually run a game using the SR5 rules yet, so I'm reserving all commentary on them until I have a chance to see them in action. Otherwise, expect an update from me later tonight or tomorrow, plus karma.

I can live with a lot of things; I can particularly forgive rules issues since those can always be house-ruled. My biggest issue is conceptual/story issues. How do you house-rule the fact that they did away with the distinction between deckers and riggers, shamans and hermetics, without completely changing everything? Argh.

Anyway, SR 4 sucked. SR 4A was good enough that I grudgingly gave Shadowrun a try again. I've heard pretty good things about SR 5 overall from a variety of sources, which is very encouraging. And Shadowrun Returns absolutely rocked, so that helped.

Best of all is the fact that the old crew has been coming back together, which was really encouraging; Shadowrun is great, but what made these games legendary was you guys!

I'm quite curious to see what SR 5 will bring, and what can be done with it.
Slipshade
Love the fact that cyberdecks are back and riggers and deckers are not exactly the same. Still have a problem with the Mage/Shaman thing (I do love my Shamans), but I can get around that.

I don't think I will be playing much here, I have my own pbp on another forum that I am running and will be running a TT SR5 game. I'll let you know how it goes though. I tend to heavily modify rules though which usually means if it is to crunchy it gets ignored. wink.gif
grendel
@Vegas:

Those successes will be enough to dodge the first two attacks. Remember, though, each time you dodge an attack you have to subtract one from your pool. Full defense means you've sacrificed your next complex action, though, so the remaining attackers are engaging as Mac tries to extricate herself.

Mac has no current modifiers. 2 hits on 7 dice gives her an initiative of 9, which puts her in the middle of the pack. Alpha (chain), Bravo (knives), and Charlie (pipe) are all facing her, while Delta (brass knuckles) and Echo (empty hand) are behind her.

grendel
Whoa. Mac is like a spidermonkey on amphetamines. She's dodged all four of the attacks coming her way, she can try and make good an escape since she's outside the ring of attackers.
Vegas
Oh I'm just using up all my good rolls when it's semi-critical. Wait till she's pushing the boundaries of death.. then I won't be able to roll a good roll to save her life wink.gif

She'll definitely try to make for splitsville. I'm not liking her chances sticking around...
Vegas
@grendel Oh, and I *think* I've got Mac re-made for SR5. Straight up new build, not a conversion... waiting to see how things shake out for you at GenCon and what gets house-ruled (if anything) for gear/mods from splat books not out yet.

Promises to be interesting it seems...
WinterRat1
Yeah, I am very curious to hear Grendel's evaluation of the system. My initial reading (up through the Combat Chapter) is very positive, but I do think Mystic Adepts will have to be addressed. I hear rumblings that Errata have increased the cost for Power Points to 5 karma per Power Point, but that is still way too low. I actually liked how they were handled in previous editions, they should be hybrids of adepts and mages, not get the best of both worlds.

Bull has issued some "Missions" houserules and stipulations around Mys-Ads in the forums here, if you want an initial heads up on the direction they think it should take (read: NERF BAT CRITICAL HIT TO THE FACE !)
