LeFey-"Angelo" (Horizon citizen, student, runner-in-training)
[ Spoiler ]
An LA native who was seemingly orphaned during the Twins. Andrew Jensen was taken in by the Horizon Group following the disaster and disappearance of his father, Michael. As grateful as he was to his new hosts, Andrew often questioned the company's reasons for taking him in. Not to mention his unorthodox education. Alongside a more traditional curriculum, he was strenuously trained in computer programming and strongly encouraged to focus on athletics. It eventually came to light that his mistrust was well founded. With the help of Jenny Greenteeth, a free sprite who had once aided his father, he discovered Horizon's plans for him.
The company intended to subtly manipulate his education and life overall, with the eventual goal of creating a shadowrunner loyal to the Horizon Group. Furthermore, his activities were to be secretly filmed for a P2.0 show, with the purpose of forcing Michael out of hiding. Andrew had never believed his parent, a former otaku and shadowrunner, was truly dead. But these plans confirmed Michael was alive. Andrew decided to hide his knowledge of the company's plans and continue his education. He does want to become a shadowrunner, but on his own terms. His father was out there, and Andrew was going to find him.
Angelo was Michael's runner name. He hopes that using it will attract the attention of someone who knows of his parent's whereabouts. Despite not being a technomancer himself, sprites and AI seem drawn to Andrew. Their ability to transfer messages without the company noticing has proven invaluable.
"Nightshade" (Evo citizen, student, matrix adept)
[ Spoiler ]
Flo is a dryad, born of an Evo eugenics project intended to breed the Awakened. Though the project was unsuccessful, it did produce a number of mages and adepts. Eventually. Before her Awakening, Flo was regarded (or rather, disregarded) as a failed test subject. She developed something of an inferiority complex as a result, and for a time, she was motivated by a need to prove the potency of her skills. But the girl came to realize this didn't make her happy. And that she had been misusing her abilities as a simple tool for personal gain.
Her magic deserved much more respect than that. How many people longed for power like hers, but would never have it? Flo has continued to develop her abilities, but not for the sake of Evo. She believes that on the Matrix, under the name Nightshade, she can find a purpose for her skills that isn’t related to the company agenda. With LeFey and Angelo at her side, she will not be alone in that search.
Over the past few months, Flo has become attuned to Seattle, and she has the feeling something is wrong with her home. She just doesn't know what.
Basically, to sum things up, Morgan, Andrew and Flo form a trio of disillusioned corp kids, a little more inspired by the main characters of Harry Potter than I originally intended. nyahnyah.gif
"Mordred" (Mystic adept, Runner)
[ Spoiler ]
(He will be a PC in another of Aria's games. A link to his character profile will be included when it is finished.)
"E.T." (Fixer, Bartender)
In his own words, "A freaky, fabulous Formori fixer from out of this world!" E.T. owns the Bad Guy Bar, a send up of runner hangouts in the media. The nightclub is purposely designed to resemble the aftermath of a particularly vicious fight and the staff wouldn't look out of place in an action trid. Moreover, worker policy requires the bouncers to admit almost anyone who offers them a bribe. The Bad Guy Bar attracts patrons of all kinds, but there is an good way to tell a slumming SINner from someone with actual ties to the shadows. The former come for the theme, and the latter for the services of E.T.
The fixer himself is an enigma (no one has been able to determine what the initials stand for, though there is a betting pool on the answer). He arrived in Seattle five years ago to set up shop, and has been a fixture ever since. E.T.'s flamboyant appearance has led some to underestimate him, but not wisely. The Formori is a dangerous fighter, not to mention well connected. His signature drink is the Panic, a cocktail based on the alcohol "brewed" by wild satyrs. There are rumors the fixer was human until the wake of Halley's Comet caused him to goblinize, but those have not been confirmed.
