Vegas mentioned ICing the description of the Mass Confusion spell, so I stopped my quick IC short of that - go for it.

While she gets that up, mechanics:

The room is about 10 meters in diameter. The walkway around the pit is barely a meter wide, no rail or anything - watch out! So the rat pit is eight meters across.

There are some dead rats, and some confused rats, and some fleeing rats. And a whole lot of rats too stupid to care about anything but eating Steamer. But they are no longer climbing each other to get to him.

The door that you've spotted is directly across from the stair landing (someone that knows about math and pi and stuff can figure out the distance).

At that room size, the whole chamber is in the AOE of the spell, though I'll assume that your position on the stair landing is just outside of it.

Rather than wait for a round of surprise rolls, I'll just shorthand and say all those first actions were freebies. After the confusion spell hits, you are not seeing any effective response yet...

But now it is initiative (and declaring next actions).

A few defense, soak, and spell resist rolls wouldn't hurt either, just to speed things up. Electronic or real dice - all good with me.

I don't think LeFey should have any equipment issues. Her only weapon is a taser, and everything else can be left with the van.

@Aria: Are you planning on moving all your games to SG eventually? What's wrong with here?

Well, the traffic is much much heavier over there.

This place used to be hopping, but it's a real ghost town anymore (see several relevant discussion threads for ideas why).

So that's one thing about SG.

Both have some pros and cons on functionality.

Me, I like DS best and will always hang out here. Maybe just dogged loyalty.

But happy to play on SG as well.

just a thought on vehicles - the van is stolen from the site of the run. We also had a gentle GM reminder a while back about that fact.

Probably should burn it.

Since this is a rally point we preset as part of our fast-forwarded pre-run plan, I don't think it it's unreasonable to assume our own vehicles might be here or nearby...

I'm happy to say that Al's truck is here. Doesn't really seat six though...anyone else have rides of their own? Any of them seat six comfortably, or shall we take two vehicles?

As Adamu mentioned, things have been a bit quiet here of late and SG have players for new games. Currently I think I'll try for one here and two over there...that way I can still get my pbp fix if one of the forums has imploded temporarily

That covers minimum seating, and it looks like we are already safely there, so no need for further details on who rides with who.

Just if anyone else brings their own vehicle they might want to say so.

As discussed earlier, Al will use a R6 ID and leave his Gaz in secured parking, with his shotgun locked in the truck. Hopefully the ID will be enough just to get his knife in without hassle.

Why does Invisible Castle have to be such a junk website? I've tried to sign up there for an account on more than a handful of occasions and NEVER received an activation email, preventing me from using the site in a non-anonymous manner. And just now I tried to send the administrators a message asking them for help, and it gives me a freaking server error and eats my message... twice. TWICE.

Angel will switch to her real SIN for her hotel room, and will leave her heavy pistol locked up in a gun case in her car (tucked into the hidden smuggling compartment in the back seat). If the Gates permits light pistols, she will bring the Lightfire 70 along with her.. if not, she'll have to rely on her cyber hand-blade... since.. uh.. Electronic dice rolling is such a tedious pain anyway - but this being PbP....

I use Orokos now.

And I actually like it better than I did Inv Castle for most functions.

I think for Pbp like this it's often easier to just roll dice and post the results. We're not competing or anything, we're all just rp-ing for fun and, I should think, are trustworthy enough to roll a few sets of dice

I used to play here until about five years ago, and most rolling was just analog, incl. the games I GMed.

I was gone for a few years and when I came back it was all InvCastle.

And I'll admit that in some ways, electronic is easier.

End of the day, I am personally cool with either way.

Think I need to give TLG a little kick...will skip ahead to the meet with eTher at the Maiden, we can come back to what you've done with the drives when the tech heads are able to post...
