This isn't quite right. The drone rolls pilot + defense to evade melee attacks. As that's only 6 dice (less if it's already injured), it's probably going to get hit. Then you resist damage with 8 dice (body+armor-AP).

If you read my full post, I had that you hadn't bothered looking at the map of the HQ... if you look at the map, you will see that Jax is at the entrance between the gym and the loading dock, to cover those escaping.

auran has 8 in her pocket... but she's down... so unless you notice the medkit taped to her leg... she can't tell you

PS - before you move her... i think you may wanna make sure you put the safety on the pistol in her back... if you know about it, because it's currently unsafetied.....

wanna know what's worse? if people do find the stimpatches... and stick 2 on her.... it may kill her, because she still has to suffer another 3 drain at the end of combat round 3 (unresistable due to damage modifiers). So... yea... ironies indeed.

Combat Turn 3

Started a blank action sheet for Combat Turn 3.

I think it will take at least 3 full turns of movement to get China Doll clear of the building. Move downstairs, mount vehicle, move vehicle, and possibly more if there are other actions that have to take place. Not including the fact we are dragging bodies out, and that during this time the darn Spikes are actually in the building.

I have been thinking of some radical alternative options...

Where is the van at? The garage or somewhere already outside the building? Shade would know this. And did he mean literally like hop on the roof of the van? That might be a necessary thing for Shade and Toy to do.

So, since healing Auran makes no sense, Raven could ask the spirit to heal Toy, if Shade manages to stabilize her first (it's just one Complex Action, I suppose?). That would make sense, and he even has a Medkit. smile.gif Or is Nurse still around the corner? She's certainly even better qualified. wink.gif

If Shade manages to get there during the 3rd IP of this round, he could try to stabilize her during the 1st IP of the new round, then right afterwards, the spirit could cast Heal on Toy.

Yeesh, trying to get away with an unconscious Toy is going to be extremely difficult. Hey Ronin, do Shade a favor; next time, try not to let Toy get shot up so bad. smile.gif

Does anyone have any suggestions for Shade and Toy getting out? At the end of Combat Turn 2, I think Shade would have made it to Toy in the Kitchen, and possibly been able to drag her at least far enough back that he could pick her up and run without putting her in the line of fire. The question now is whether to go to the roof, take the fire escape and try to escape through the streets, or try to make it through the fight downstairs and into the gym.

From what I'm reading, the battle is definitely going against us on the first floor, and I'm not even entirely sure who's down there and still standing. Knives definitely is, Slam and 2by4 are down, the drones are there and firing but accomplishing...what? What happened to Cammy? Because it's looking increasingly like Knives is the only one up and fighting against about 3-5 trolls in the lobby.

In which case, the group on the second floor (Wyrm, Nurse, CD, Steel, 0day, Raven, Auran, Shade, and Toy, as well as Aziz and Thyn coming down from the roof) might need an alternative way out.

Actually, at this point I'm wondering about the viability of running to the area above the stage and/or gym, and getting down that way. Jax is already guarding the gym doors, if we warn him we're coming the stronger and more functional members can go down first, then the unconscious ones can be dropped (and caught), or the magical characters can levitate or use any remaining spirits they have to try and assist everyone.

Figure the drop is approximately 10 feet give or take a few. Even without a rope or something, if people lower themselves down first and then drop, that's what, maybe a 5-7 foot drop? Nearly everyone should be able to make that. That might be the fastest, and at this point safest way of getting everyone to the vehicles. What do you all think?

I believe Ronin already spent Edge to stabilize Toy, so we don't need to do that. Plus, other than using magic at this point, Dranem and Kartijan brought up good points, we need to leave now. Between the drones and all the guys we had at the front door, I did not expect the situation to destabilize so quickly. We have to get everyone out ASAP because I think we might be down to just Knives and maybe the drones up front.

See my previous post for a suggestion on getting us all out together. We might need the spirit for something else other than healing. If Toy's not going to die any time soon, we need every available resource to get us all to the first floor and out of here.

Jumping down to the gym should work, or just outside through a backside window.

We are all fit, young people, that should be no problem. wink.gif


If Toy is stabilized already, Raven's spirit can heal her, maybe she can walk out with us that way... much easier than to carry her around.

Too bad with the melee on the front door. Once the trolls have no counterspelling anymore (out of side from the mages), Raven and even moreso her spirit could actually do something against them, but with counterspelling the chance of her spells to affect them is just too slim.

And if the melee trolls would start encountering magic, they would call for their mage buddies to back them up, anyways.

Go for it. Healing her so she can walk instead of being carried is good. smile.gif Unless someone says otherwise, I believe a previous post indicated Ronin spent the Edge to stabilize Toy. If anyone knows differently, please correct me.

Ok, edited the actions into the Wiki sheets; didn't roll initiative for the new spirit for the 2nd round, it won't make a difference, anyways. I just assumed the same roll as for the other spirit before (and used the entry for that one, since it was already there... how convenient! smile.gif).

Time to do choose your path. All discussion are merely suggestions, all characters should do as they will.

Possible routes.
1. Down front stairs and through front area to Gym and loading dock and out.
2. Down Back stairs through gym, loading dock and out
3. Down back stairs out back door around to loading dock
4. Up to roof and down fire escape
5. Up to roof and jump to neighboring building.
6. Jump from second floor to gym, loading dock and out
7. Jump out back window
8. Jump out front window

All options have issues.

2 and 3 are viable because the Spikes will be at the front door at least a combat turn or two even after they clear the door. They won't know where to immediately go once they are inside, they have a choice of going upstairs, where there are known threats, or proceeding into the gym, or the hallways etc. They will need to check for threats in at least three areas before moving. As long as we don't start shooting at them from the back stair area, thus revealing ourselves as a threat, as we proceed down the stairs and out the loading dock, we have enough time to barely get out that way. 6 is a variation on this, may be shorter, but carries risk of additional injury. This may be the fastest way to get the wounded out though.

4 and 5 the route is clear, but takes time, and if you get to bottom you are on foot, and may be accessible to any Spikes outside, if they take the time to surround the building, then you are vulnerable. Bit of a gamble that relies on the Spikes not surrounding completely, which looks like not a bad bet right now. But once away, can you get to the vehicles to motor out of here? Or you need to hide.

Going out the front is just bad.

As for radical ideas... I've been thinking of some fun things to do, but the IC decision may depend on Shade showing up in the 2nd floor hallway blood sledding Toy Robot. I have a planned action I may switch to in that case.

hey... knives is trying... he's just only got knives to throw... which isn't that great....

@TG - could you maybe describe the situation witht the trolls and slam and 2by4 and such, as in where are they? i don't want knives to dive into the middle of 4 trolls covered in non-thermo smoke.... but if he can save someone... he will, and he can still throw 1 knife and have 1 knife left to defend against melee with....

OK, MK Ultra just decided it for me. If we can use Thyn's van as a stepping stone that solves most of the problems of going down the gym right there. It's almost certainly the fastest way to the vehicles and now the problems we had with safety can be largely avoided. Great idea Ultra!

Heh, and I know Knives is trying. Heck, if he's the only one still standing down there against what they have coming in, I give the man lots of credit. smile.gif

I´m thinking, to either have her help draging, or draw attention away from Knifes.

Cammy draging and Knifes covering will be more effective, I guess, so she´ll suggest this to Knifes, when it´s her action

EDIT: Plus, if she covers, she´ll probably die, Knifes has at least a decent chance, to live, using full parry.

I know the time stamp on my IC post was 13:30:03. That was me posting Shade's Turn 2, Pass 2 and 3 actions IC.

I will get up my Initiative Rolls, Actions, and results for Combat Turn 3 here and on the wiki shortly.

TG - Will there be any rolls needed for Shade or anyone else to use Thyn's van as a stepping stone to get down to the gym floor?

About Toy´s stabilization, btw. TG ruled, that everyone, who went down with deadly damage in the 1st Round will get one 'escape certain death' for free (not burning any Edge), so Toy will be stabilized, unless Ronin wishes otherwise. Since he allready stated, he would burn Edge for it, however, I think it´s sure to assume, that he want´s to use this option. So yes, ToyRobot is stabilized and won´t bleed to death in the next turns, baring ny aditional damage.

Wound penalties never apply to damage or drain resistance tests.

If you're not directly in combat, feel free to post your actions all the way through the end of the 3rd combat turn. For the most part, the trolls are only concerned with people carrying boxes and active resistance.

The entryway is a smokey mess. The three trolls are just outside of the smoke, and are looking quite mean. Since Knives is inactive, we can just "switch cameras" for that part of the fight and leave his fate up in the air. I think Cammy is active, though, so she'll need to decide to run or not (I'd suggest dropping her bat and running for her life).

2by4 and Slam both look to be in very bad shape if they aren't already dead.

Cammy is inactive. So if you don´t want to play out this part, there is noone active at this fight, now (that is except JAX, but he should be edited out, anyway).

Wow, that dodgeis even a critical success, so JAX can dodge in a rediculously fency way (and might regain 1 Edge, at the GM´s discretion) ;p

If he was hit (which he´s not), I think he was waring his armored biker-suite, which would give Impact - 1 additional extradice for the resistance.

EDIT: oh and I´d like to place an order on some of your (or Dire´s?) dice-luck, the next time I´m trying to summon a big spirit of man nyahnyah.gif

I'm fine with editing Jax out of the melee as it allows us to jump straight to the "escape from the HQ" portion of the festivities. That brings up the big questions of who is leaving in what directions with who and what?

Combat Turn 2 is fully concluded, if that is what you meant, and TG said anyone not directly involved in combat can post through the end of Combat Turn 3. So yes, I believe the spirit can now heal Toy.

Halo intended to set up a distraction for the trolls, so she and Tao will have to drive north up Hunt Ave. from the dock (to the crossing of W. Main St. & Hunt), so the trolls can see us with the decoy.
As turning right at that point would have us drive by all the lined up trolls holding their actions to shoot, will probably be suecide (and because his I-Ging oracle suggested to go to the south west), Tao will suggest to Halo (free action 2nd Round 2nd Pass), to turn left and then drive down south/westward, which would also draw the trolls awy from our groups relleying point.
It´s Vegas´ call, however, if Halo heeds that advice.

The others would be best off, to retreat to the south to not directly pass the trolls infront of the Y (otherwise, Halos distraction won´t do any good for them, I guess). But everyone has to decide for themselfs and I don´t remember where the other relleying points where.

@ TG - So does the "race to our bikes with trolls in hot pursuit" kinda get skipped over? Is this basically how I understand what you wanna do from here? as you won't have the trolls actively trying to follow us (even as the sound of 8 engines roar to life?)
